The next morning Brian woke up when the first rays of sun came in through the window behind his bed.
He dropped the Nissan off at the garage of a friend and took the bus to work, where he tried to find out whether any info about last nights happenings had been entered into the FBI database. Because he couldn't find anything he tried a trace of Dom's old cell number without any luck. With a sigh he leaned back in his chair, arms behind his head and thought about her. Mia. Before he went to Mexico she had even hugged him, told him that she only wanted to remember the good parts of the past. Maybe he should go by and see her and see how Letty was doing.

Mia hadnt slept very well she couldnt keep her mind of Brian, she had called in work, using up a holiday, she just couldnt face it, she needed to clear her mind and ensure Lety was ok.
After spending the morning cleaning the kitchen and living room she headed to the back yard, remembering all the good times they had out there, with the sun shining down on her she headed over to the deck chairs and collasped into it, a glass of wine in one hand and a book in the other.
She check on Letty again, but she knew the girl was stubourn she'd join her when she woke up and maybe she'd see her brother today, or...Brian she thought.

Letty opened her eyes, squinting against the sunlight that streamed in through the front window. She had spent the night on the couch since she refused to move once she was confortable, and really didn't think that unnecessary movement was going to help her body heal faster.
The pain medication had worn off, and it left her feeling stiff and uncomfortable. She pressed lightly on her ribs under her shirt and found that they were still quite tender to the touch. Glancing at the clock on the wall, it was a little after lunch, so she was sure that Mia would be around there somewhere.
She managed to prop herself up on her elbows and pull herself into a sitting position. She was about to make a move as to get off the couch, but she twisted her body wrong and it sent pain shooting up her side.
"Shit..." she cursed, lying back on the couch. She felt hopeless, but she was determined to get off the couch.
"I think I need more drugs..." she sighed to herself.

Mia stretched out and flipped the corner of her page down, before looking in the direction of the house. She wondered if Letty was up, and that made her worry, she wondered if she was ok, letting out a sigh she headed in the direction of the house. Grabbed a bottle of pills and headed into the living room where Letty had settled for the night, she found her awake and face scrunched in pain.
"Hey, im guessing your in need of these"She said handing her the bottle of water and pills.

After work Brian took the bus to the garage. To his delight the Skyline had been fixed except for the paint. What wasn't so delightful was the bill he was handed.
When he backed it out onto the street he decided to pay Mia and Letty a visit on the way home.
Half an hour later he found himself looking up the steps to the Fort. It actually took him some gutts to walk up there and knock on the door. This time he was better prepared to meet Mia. When she opened the door he smiled at her and said. "Hi. I was wondering how Letty is doing. May I come in?"

Mia smiled down at Letty, they were giggling about some stupid thing, it was good to laugh in despite of everything that had happened over the last couple of days, a knock at the door got her attention, she furrowed her brow, wondering who it could have been.
"Im gonna grab that"She stated pushing herself up from the floor and headed towards the door, her heart litartly caught in her throat at the site of Brian in front of her.
"Hi. I was wondering how Letty is doing. May I come in?" She smiled, nodding her head, stepping aside, unsure if she spoke now it would betray her.

Brian brushed by her and mumbled. "Good to see you." In the livingroom he found Letty on the couch. She looked better than last night. Some colour had gotten back to her cheeks and she was in better humour. "Hi, Letty." Brian looked around and found a chair nearby that he pulled closer to sit down next to her. "How are you? Feeling any better?" Out of the corner of his eye he saw Mia enter the living room as well. "I've tried to track down Dom but no luck so far. Has he shown up here?"

Mia foldded her arms across her chest and lent agasint the living room doorway, her gaze locked on Brian, she shook her head.
"Not yet no"She replied honestly. "But its only gonna be a matter of time. What happens when he does turn up Brian"She questioned with a raised brow.

Brian turned his attention to her. For a moment he had to think about that. "He has to keep a low profile. There's still a warrant for him." To prevent any wrong assumtions he added. "I'm not going to do anything about that. Just make sure he won't try to go after Braga alone or he'll come back in a body bag or end up on the bottom of a river like you." He nodded at Letty.

Mia bit her lip "You know Dom, he'll get to him out of principle"She stated, only half knowing the pain he was going through at the thought Letty was gone and never comeing back. she let out a sigh.
"Well ill be out back if you guys need anything"she smiled before turning and heading outside to her wine and book.

Brian was a bit dissapointed when she headed out back. Obviously she didn't care for his visit too much. He looked at Letty. "How are you? I mean not physically? If you want them brought to justice we'll have to make an official case out of this. Think about it. It's probably better than personal vengance."

Letty couldn't have been happier to see Mia, holding a bottle of painkillers as she entered the room, "Oh gracias a Dios!" she praised sliding back onto the couch, and taking the pills and the water from Mia.
"You don't know how much I adore you right now girl, it's a good thing that Dom was always busting your ass to finish school!" she laughed along with Mia, wanting to lighten the mood, as well as the expression on Mia's face.
Then as if on cue, there was a knock on the door and the smile vanished as suddenly as it appeared when she went to answer it.
She heard the awkward and painful exchange between them but decided she would keep her mouth shut for now as the both of them came into the living room.
"Hey Bri," she greeted managing to sit up better wincing only a little from the slight movement. "I feel alot better, Mia's been taking care of me so, it's only a matter of time before I'm up and at em again." she smiled at him.
She agreed with Brian when he mentioned Dom, thinking that it was better that he still though she was dead and hadn't yet found out who done it, otherwise Braga would be a dead man.
Mia left the room with her wine and one of the many books she was always reading and retreated quietly out the back door leaving her alone with Brian. She caught the disappointed look on Brian's face but again she remained quiet.
Brian then turned his attention back to her, "How are you? I mean not physically? If you want them brought to justice we'll have to make an official case out of this. Think about it. It's probably better than personal vengance."
Letty opened and closed her mouth unsure of what exactly she wanted, she had thought about it a little on the way back but she still wasn't sure if making it official was the best thing to do. "Remember how I told you I was down there undercover?" she asked Brian.
"Well I do want justice I really do, except..." she took a breath and continued, "Except, I don't want the FBI to know that I'm alive, it's their fault that you thought I was even dead to begin with."

Brian knitted his brow. "Why do you not want the FBI to know that you're alive? You record is clean!" He leaned in a little closer. Out of the corner of his eye he could see Mia through the open window. She was sitting in a deck chair. Suddenly his phone rang. "O'Conner." he answered it. "Agent O'Conner. We tracked down the number you gave us. The current location is French Guiana. It's travelling north west at high speed, probably by plane." "Thank you." Brian flipped his phone closed.
Then he smiled at Letty. "You were right. Looks like Dom is on his way. He's heading north from French Guiana, South America."

Letty sighed, not sure that finding out that Dom was on his way back was a good thing or not. He was coming back because Mia had told him she was dead, she reminded herself.
She looked up at Brian shaking her head, "If the FBI know I'm alive they're going to want to drag my ass back in for questioning, they're going to want to find out everything I know, and then if they still aren't satisfied lord knows they'll opt for sending me back in again." she explained.
"They thought I was dead Brian, and they didn't even bother to confirm it." she pointed out crossing her arms across her chest. "I'm expendable to them, and I don't need to put up with shit like that."
Letty looked off through the backdoor, she could see Mia flipping through her book. "Besides," she ran a hand through her long waves not caring if Brian disapproved or not, "I got what I wanted from them without them even knowing." she was still looking at Mia, thinking about Dom and the whole reason she agreed to be an informant for the FBI.

Brian pressed his lips into fine lines. "No, you didn't, Letty!" He stared at her. "You became an informant to clear his name so he could come back." For a moment he paused. "You risked your life but he's still a fugitive. You got to go to the Feds if you want his name cleared. They thought you were dead. There was a burnt body and your blood on the scene. Your car-nobody had any doubts. Why would they?"

"Why?" Letty asked her temper flaring a little she tried to sit up flinching, but she ignored it trying to get her point across.
"All of that evidence proves nothing, they had been reluctant to help me from the start once they found out that I wanted to clear Dom's name." she paused for a moment before continuing.
"They knew that if I was dead Dom would come running, and so when Braga decided to stage my death they had the perfect opportunity..." She let that sink in watching Brian carefully.
"You see why I want to have nothing to do with them?"

Brian saw how upset she was. Letty had every reason in the world. The person she valued the most, who she was willing to risk her life for was in danger to be caught. She had just gone through hell and back. The womand had been beaten, slapped, almost drowned in a river and who knows what else. His eyes mirrored some of the sorrow and pain in hers. "I understand. I'm sorry they didn't investigate your staged death further. I never looked at it as bait for Dom. We'd better make sure the sharks can't bite."
He thought for a moment how to do that. Obviously the FBI would stake the Fort out. "Where would he go before he comes here? Does he have a car or bike stashed anywhere?"

Letty contemplated Brian's question for a moment. Dom wasn't stupid he knew that he was a wanted man, and he wouldn't just come barging in demanding to know what had happened, it was too risky on his part.
The FBI would be watching, waiting for any sign that Dom was coming back home after hearing about her death.
"Well he obviously wouldn't come directly here, I'm sure he's got a safe house somewhere near by, but I'm sure that the minute he sets foot back in the states he'll contact Mia somehow."
Mia was the only person he could trust at this point if she was suppose to be dead.

He drove through the night, ditching Tego's car in a cave and picking up his car,m the chevelle. He knew theat the feds knew that was his car, and would be looking for it, but he also knew how o throw them off his trail enough for him to get to Mia. He stopped briefly at the border, making his way through forgotten little alleys in the rocky landscape, where even border patrol didn't go, before going to the apartment he'd had for when he and Letty fought... Letty was dead. He had to keep that in the front of his mind. His Letty was dead.
He crashed on the couch in the tiny apartment, wondering if he'd get another call on the phone here before he made his way to the Fort.

Brian nodded at Letty. "Calm down." Hopefully she was right. Brian got up and went to the window to have a look at the street below them. Only two empty cars were parked in front of the row of houses on the other side. With his back to her he mumbled. "He's good. He won't get caught."
