Taya was working under a Mustang GT as the sun was high in the sky. She wore tight cut off shorts with a black low cut loose halter top with her hair pulled back in a ponytail. She had grease smeared all over as she slid out from under the car and went to the table to grab a carborator. She wasn't expecting anyone to come by so she just kept working on the car for someone.
She didn't know who it was, someone just dropped it off with a note that said what needed fixed and that they'd have someone come by later to see how it was coming. She just decided to pass the time and work on the car anyway.

The roof of the Skyline reflected the hot California sun perfectly. His owner stood in front of it wearing an almost pained expression on his face. From this angle the car looked allright. Unfortunately only from this angle. The backwindow was shattered into a thousand pieces, the tire needed changing and the trunk sported a few bullett holes. Brian ran his hands through his hair and mumbled. "Sorry, car!" He needed a garage that didn't ask too many questions. Back in Miami he would have known exactly who to turn to but here in LA he had to trust his instincts. So he went to a small garage, nothing fancy, whose owner supposedly didn't have a green card. When he stepped into the door his eyes had to adjust to the darkness inside. He cleared his throat. "Hello, anybody here?"

Taya rolled out from under the car after fixing a gas line. "Yeah?" she looked up at Brian. "What kind of car you do in and how bad's the damage?" She asked as she walked over to the desk and started writing down information.
"By the way. I'm Taya Marchetta. And you are?" She looked Brian up and down.

"Hi, a new customer." Was Brian's short answer. He didn't want to tell her his name because he wanted to make sure that she wouldn't go and report that he brought in a shot up car. then again if he didn't give her a name she might start asking around so he said. "Brian." Since she eyed him so curiously he risked a smart lip. "When you're done checking me out, you could check out the damage on my car. I need a new back window, tire and some body work, some paint." then he leaned on the counter and said in a low voice. "I've been told you can do this under the table. I'll pay cash."

Taya smirked. "I wasn't checkin' you out Brian don't worry. And I won't report you for the car, if you don't report me for being a race chick." she put the pen down and walked over to the car. "yeah I'll do it under the table-" she then turned to him. "If you help me find Letty." she looked up at him.
"You're a cop right? And you know Dom, who's dating her? I need to find her as soon as possible." she said pointing a well maincured finger at him. "I'll fix your car for lower my regular price if you help me find her, maybe even for nothin. I'll even trow in some extra stuff if needed. "
She then walked over to her Skyline in the far corner and got a decale for the car and set it aside and then went back over to his car and popped open the hood. "Nice." she smirked and looked at him. "What do ya say? Help me find Letty and I'll hook you up?"

Even though the girl seemed nice all alarms went off in Brian's head. This woman knew who he was, what he did for a living and she knew about Letty and Dom. But how?
He backed off. "Listen, I don't know who you are. But you know a hell of a lot more than I'm comfortable with." Quickly he closed the hood before she could do anything else. "Forget about the car. I'm not selling out my friends." With that he turned around to get into his car.

Taya sighed and stopped him."Not even for a sister?" she looked at him.
"I was adopted and never knew my real family. I came here and saw Letty and Dom after racing again. My friend told me their names. I saw that Letty looked like me too much. So I did some research through Social workers and found out that She was a year old when I was taken away. She wouldn't have remebered me." she sighed.
"I went to the police too and wanted to know who knew them at all. Traces came back to you since you're friends with them. That way if they wouldn't listen to me they could listen to someone they know and trust. Please Brian, I need you to get my sister back. I'n not gonna report them for anything or you or anyone else. I promise. Please just help me."

Brian frowned at her. Was this girl trying to bullshit him? "Are you kidding me?" He didn't buy it. That story sounded just a little too crazy. On the other hand if there was any truth to it he didn't want to be rude. "This sounds very...I don't know...crazy, I guess." He leaned against the Nissan. "And you've been waiting here for me to walk in one day?" Brian looked at her in disbeleive. "Tell you what. Give me a photo of you and write your name and number on it. I'll give it to Letty."

Taya sighed."No I didn't. I was gonna go by later but you came in before I could." she grabbed a picture of her and wrote her name, address, and phone number on the back. Then slapped some adoption papers she got from the social workers and other stuff. "It you need anything more it's all there. Don't worry about paying me for working on your car I'll do it for nothing, if you stil want me to."

Brian quickly looked at the names on the adoption paper. Ortiz. Sure enough it said Letty's last name. He swallowed hard. "I'm sorry if I was rude to you." He took the papers and shoved them in his pocket. "Yeah, it would be great if you could do whatever is possible. I'll pay you though. Do you have a car I could borrow or a motorbike?" He looked around and saw a nice Moto Guzzi in the corner of the shop.

Taya nodded."Take the bike in the corner. It's okay you have a right to be protective of them. Thanks for helping a little." she smiled at him. "I really owe you."

"We'll see. I can't promise anything." Brian gave her a slight smile and handed her the car keys. Then he walked over to the bike and took the helmet off the seat. He put it on and swung his leg over the dark leather of the seat. The key was in the ingnition. So all he had to do was fire it up. The engine roared loud and clear and a cloud of exhaust fumes filled the garage. "I'll make sure she'll give you a call." With that he drove off.
The drive home was fun. Passing cars, being able to excelerate much faster than in his FBI automatic granny car. the whole ride he couldn't get the girls story out of his head. he had to tell Letty.
As soon as he arrived at home Brian placed the helmet on the kitchen counter and went looking for Letty. "Letty? Are you home? I have to talk to you!"

Taya smiled as she started working on his car. First the wind shield and the tire. Then she took time to go through the motor and engine and what not. Tweaking and tinkering at it untill in sounded good.
Then she started working on the paint. Sanding off the old and then picked a base coat. she looked through decals and Metalic paints and tints. She then started putting the base coat on. She smiled at her work and started on the Mustang again letting the paint dry.

On his way home Brian thought about what he'd just heard. The bike was too much fun though so he shook the thoughts off and sped down the road taking corners on evil angles and passing cars left and right. Brian O'Conner was like a pinball on a motorbike. That was probably the reason he never bought one. It would kill him eventually. For now it was a shitload of fun though. When he finally arrived at home he saw Letty sitting on the steps that lead up to his house. He took the helmet off and sat down next to her letting the sun warm his face. "Hey, Let." After a minute he looked over at her and said. "I have to tell you something weird that just happened."

Letty walked down stairs to the first floor, she sat on the last step and wrapped her arms around knees. A motorbike's roaring sounds distracted her after a while, she never thought that the person that she'll see at the doorstep would be Brian. Jack seemed like the wildchild of the family, restless and unleashed, totally up for the action and danger.
"Brian?" Letty mouthed in disbelief and examined the helmet while he took it off. Her eyes rose to meet his blue ones, questioning. "What's with the wild ride?" She asked with a grin. He looked like something was bothering him, so she wasn't really surprised when he put it into words. "Sure, what happened?" she asked freely, obviously not aware of what was going to hit her.

Brian looked at the cars passing by and searched for the right words. Then he fixed his eyes on her and rubbed over his ruffled hair. "I dropped the Skyline off at a small garage this morning because I wanted to get the bullett holes fixed under the table." He paused. Letty wasn't one for smoothtalking so he would just state it plain and simple. "The girl, who is going to work on it, said she knows you...or knows who you are. She said she was adopted by your parents...she even showed me the papers. Her name is Taya. She wanted to meet you. " He watched her reaction carefully. "Do you know her?"

Letty furrowed as Brian talked. Everything sounded so surreal, his voice came out blurred in her mind as if it was a dream. "Taya?" Letty repeated questioningly. Her eyes were locked on a random, invisible spot in the air, trying to think. She never heard of any Taya.
"What do you mean she was adopted by my parents? Its impossible." She mouthed after a long moment of silence, feeling her throat sore and her stomach flipping.

Brian was equally confused. "No, Let. I think your parents gave her up for adoption. She looked younger than you. Sorry, no offense, you look great!" He attempted a half assed joke. "Have your parents ever mentioned that you have a sister? I don't know how that would even work. You must have been very small if you don't remember."
Buster and the unnamed puppy came running around the corner when they heard their owners voice. Quickly Brian petted both of them thankful for the distraction. He picked the little one up and put her on his lap. "Hey, how's my girl?"

"No fucking way." Letty whispered and her eyes went blank. She looked at Brian petting the puppy and it seemed like a distant scene from a movie. Well...he was pretty enough to be a Hollywood hottie..."Are you serious? wait, let me get this straight." Letty said in a normal tune again and then silenced.
She recalled Brian's words about that girl while taking a deep breath in and getting everything together once more. "You're saying this random girl you just bumped into in some garage told you she's my sister?" Letty asked directly, putting all bare facts out there. She then looked at him with a serious expression for a few seconds and suddenly her face lightened. She let out a pitched giggle and closed her eyes, shaking her head. "Nice one, Bri." She added while she kept laughing.

For a moment Brian thought she had lost her mind until he understood that she thought he was playing a trick on her. He stood up, set the puppy down on the grass and turned to face her. "Hey, this isn't a joke!" He kept a straight face. "Stop laughing, Letty. I'm not kidding. I thought the same thing...no actually I thought Taya was after you or Dom for something until I saw the paperwork."
He reached into his pocket and fumbled out the girls number. "There. Why don't you call her and see who she really is!"
