Brian laughed. "You're a funny one." Then he shook her hand and said seriously. "Brian O'Conner. Very nice to meet you." He grinned sheepishly. "Do you know that you have beautiful eyes, Mia?" He sighed slightly thankful for the joke that eased the tension. There was enough of it present anyway because they were sitting outside meter thick prison walls with a very close friend and brother inside. Still smiling he shook his head. "Is it rude to do this when you just get to know somebody?" With that he leaned over to her and kissed her softly on the lips.

"O'Conner. Nice..." Mia laughed, almost giddy with the joke that relaxed the tension they were feeling.
Brian started flirting immediately after introducing himself, and Mia rolled her eyes to the ceiling. "You don't waste time, do you?" Not that they hadn't already gone all the way and back... Mia could feel the blush creeping on her cheeks already. "I think I've heard someone say that before..."
"Rude to do wha-" Mia was caught by surprise when Brian leaned over and kissed her. Her heart leapt to her throat as her cheeks burned again. She leaned into the kiss, hands finding Brian's chest and knotting in his shirt. She had been waiting ever since the Mexico affair.

Thank goodness she didn't pull away. Brian needed to know where he stood and took this as an answer. He playfully sucked on her lips and caressed them with his tongue. Then he stopped a placed another soft kiss on her cheek. "Yeah, definetly nice to meet you." Brian embraced her in a hug and just held her for a bit without saying anything. Then he suggested. "I think they've had enough time now. Do you want to go in and crash the party?"

No, she thought.
"Yeah, sure let's go inside." Mia smiled, reluctantly pulling away from Brian to open the car door. She paused with her hand on the door, then turned back to Brian with a smile. "Does this mean we're 'on again'?"

Brian got out and walked around the car to briefly stop in front of her. "Why? Have we been off?" He took her hand. "I don't know about you but I really want to be with you. This time you know what you are getting yourself into...or who. Do you think you can handle me?"

"Well, we haven't exactly been "on". We've been... complicated..."
Mia was touched by Brian's words, so much so that she wanted to throw her arms around him and kiss him again. That was until he finished his last comment. Suddenly, she was laughing, loud and hard and enjoying the feeling. It had been quite a while since anyone had made her laugh this hard.
"Handle you? I've lived my entire life with Dom and V and Letty, and you think I can't handle you?" She punched him in the arm with her free hand, smirking. "The question is, can you handle me, O'Conner?"

"Handle you? Oh you're cute. What's to handle about you?" He rubbed his arm. It seemed like she enjoyed punching him. "That you're sincere and solid as a roch when things start falling apart, funny or beautiful? I think I can handle that...or is there an evil Mia in there I still have to get to know?"
He led her towards the entrance door where they had to sign in. Today he didn't need his badge. He was just here to visit a friend. Screw the boss if he didn't like it.

"Oh, yes. I'm an evil mastermind when I want to be." Mia rolled her eyes and followed Brian inside. "But I think if you can handle me, I can probably handle you..."
She waited for her turn to sign in and nodded to the guard behind the desk. "Hey Marvin." She said, as she scrawled her name on the paper. Apparently she had been here way too much if she was starting to pick up the names...

They were led to a waiting area in front of the meeting room, where they were told to wait. Brian stared ahead at the concrete wall in front of them. There was nothing nice or comforting about this place even though they tried to make the meeting room look 'normal'. Immediately he started feeling bad for Dom and a little guilty that he was in here. "Hadn't Dom satyed by his side when he was hurt in Mexico he might have made it...or not. Both cars were smashed. He shifted uncomfortably in his seat "I can't wait for the trial in three days."

"Three days..." Mia repeated, groaning inwardly. It seemed like an eternity to wait, but just the thought of Dom getting out was pleasing enough to out weigh the bad parts. She couldn't think about Dom not getting out. She just couldn't deal with the sadness...
"Dom promised we would all get together and do something we he got out." Mia said, trying to fill the void of silence with nervous chatter. She didn't care that Brian probably didn't care to hear it... "You know, me, you, Dom, Letty. All of us. Maybe a cook out, like we used to?" She smiled at the thought, turning to grab Brian's hand. "You think you could make it?"

"I'll try." He frowned. "I've got a pretty hot case right now." He really wasn't allowed to talk about it. Especially in here where the walls had ears. "It's about Braga but I can't tell you any more right now." Getting together with everybody would be cool. Maybe even Vince could join. He couldn't wait to show him that Mia and him were together. Oh, there it was again. The old battle over Mia. A small smile crossed his lips. he was gald she was official with him now. He squeezed her hand. "What the hell is taking them so long. are they making out in there?"

A case. Of course. Mia bit off the bitter comment that came to mind and just sighed sadly. Brian being a cop would always come between them- even if it was just his job. She hoped she would be able to convince her brother to stay on the good side of the law after he was out. She really didn't want to have to choose between them again.
"Oh, give them a break, Brian. If I thought you were dead and you came back, I wouldn't let you leave my sight so quickly either..." She teased, blushing lightly when she realized what that implicated.

He looked at her with hopeful eyes. "Really? Maybe I have to work on that." He was joking even though his damn job had almost cost him his life a couple of times. With a sigh Brian put his arm around Mias shoulder. "So you stayed at the old place all alone all these years?" Brian was wondering whether she'd been seeing anybody but never had the gutts to ask until now. Not that it made a big difference.

Mia leaned into the embrace, looking up at Brian. "Yeah, I did. There wasn't many other places I could go. I mean I've got family in different parts of Spain and Italy, but I really didn't want to go that far..."
She shrugged, "Besides, I had work and loved ones here. I didn't want to leave all that..." Mia could tell Brian was fishing, but she didn't have a clue as to what he wanted to know.

Brian bit his lip and looked straight ahead. Should he really ask her this bluntly. When he looked back at her he was quite insecure. "I actually meant whether you've been seeing anybody. Maybe something serious?" He could feel his ears getting warm and hoped she couldn't tell.

Mia couldn't help smirking at Brian's discomfort. She moved over closer to him, hoping to calm him a little more. It was actually kinda cute that he was wondering about her love life when he was gone- not that there had been one. That didn't mean that she was going to let him off easy either. She smirked, hoping to come off teasing. "What, Brian, are you jealous?"
She watched him blush and laid her hand on his knee, squeezing it to comfort him a bit. "Well, I guess it all just depends on whether you've been seeing anyone? You got any girls waiting for your call on the beach?" Miami was far away, but if she had to drive thousands of miles to kick some girls ass, she felt like it was probably worth it.

Now she really had him blushing. Brian wasn't jealous. After all he had dissapeared for a couple of years before he was 'legal' again. So why wouldn't she have seen anybody. "It's not like I expected you to wait for me. After all I was gone. But I'm curious. I care about what happened to you."
In regards to his other question he shrugged. "I've been seeing a girl here and there but nothing serious. I was too busy with other stuff. Being on the run also doesn't go down too well with most girls...well it turns some of them on but..." he cut himself of. Then he smiled. "They just couldn't live up to the standards you set!"

Mia opened her mouth to assure him that she hadn't been with anyone, but her smile slowly faded as Brian talked about the girls he had been with over the last few years. She had been teasing before- all she wanted to hear was that he was glad he was back with her. He ended the thought nicely, but Mia was still seething inside.
"I didn't date anyone. Not anything more than flirting, anyway." She muttered, looking away from him and at the scarely decorated wall. The whole point of the conversation was to make Brian jealous- in the end it was Mia who was jealous. She would let it go... just not anytime soon.

Brian noticed the change in expression and posture. Mia was easy to read. "Are you jealous?" He asked innocently. Still he felt the need to explain. "It wasn't anything serious. Not like I put a ring on anybodys finger or lived together. I just didn't meet the right girl in Miami." He paused and looked at her even though she was still staring at the wall. "Mia, I had no idea whether I would ever see you again." He swallowed and was ready to slap himself. How stupid-making her upset on their first On again day. Brian leaned his elbows on his knees and put his head in his hands.

Mia was sure that she was blushing from head to toe. "I am not jealous..."
It did comfort her to know that nothing was serious between him and the other girls. Not that she had expected for him to put a ring on anyone's finger! She smiled, trying to lighten the mood. "Maybe it was because the right girl wasn't in Miami?"
Brian sunk his head into his hands, and Mia felt bad for him. Her gaze softened and she reached over to pull Brian into a hug. She laid her head on his shoulder and sighed. "Look, we'll forget the past. Both of us. We'll start new, okay? Come on, you look better when you smile."
