Angel grinned and wriggled her fingers at him as he drove off. When he was out of sight she laughed softly to herself.
"So much for keeping business and pleasure separate in my garage. Oh well he is a hell of a looker," she said softly finishing up the last of the paper work before looking at the half filled lifts, "Back to work..."

The Skyline was as good as new. Miss Garage had done a great job and was definetly worth her money. That's the conclusion Brian came to when he took his car for a spin up the coast. Finally he was having fun behind the wheel again.
The fun became even greater when he won 2000$ the next race night. Brian blamed it on the 'good looks' of his Skyline, which he had purposely left unfinished. He hadn't hit the races in a while and not everybody knew him. there was always some new hot shot that he could get to underestimate him. Why on earth Jack didn't make enough money this way he didn't know.
So a few days later he came back to the garage dressed in nice pants and a blue button down shirt. His hair was combed and his face shaved. The bottle of wine in his hand clearly screamed date. "Hey, can I come in?" The cop knocked on the garage door. It was late but there were still lights on.

Angel opened the door and smiled at him, "Of course you can. Come on up," she said waving him to follow her, "You look very handsome. Hopefully my dinner can own up to your bottle of wine."
She easily took the metal stairs to the loft and was grinning to herself, happy she had made a good point in dressing up. She was wearing one of her clingy red dresses that showed off her curves and came off her shoulders, paired with a pale blue aquamarine and silver necklace. Angel even took the time to tame her wavy locks into loose pin curls.
"So welcome to my home, right here is my kitchen slash dinning room, to your left is the living room, and to your right is the bedrooms and bathrooms," She said giving him a brief overview of her loft, "Dinner is currently in the oven and will be done in about 10 minutes or so. No trouble finding the place," Angel teased turning to look at him.

"No, no trouble." Brian stood in the middle of the loft with the bottle of wine still in his right hand. He liked the place. I definetly had more space than his cosy boat house. "I like the open floor concept. Very spacious." Then he turned to see her and take in her attire. The dress hugged her in all the right places and suited her much better than the greasy work clothes. "Wow, you look different, very good." He avoided words like beautiful, gorgeous...it just seemed too stereotype. "So what are we having?" Whatever it was it was making his mouth water and his stomach growl. "Did you hear that? My belly says 10 minutes is too long. That smells way too good."

Angel laughed softly, "It's mexican lasagna and with a little luck your stomach will like the way it tastes as much as it likes the way it smells," she said opening the oven door a little to check on the dinner seeing the cheese was just about to start bubbling.
Turning she looked at him and closed the oven door before taking the bottle and opening the fridge to pull out her chilled glasses, "Sorry wine glasses not one of the things that would last long here in the garage, would you like the wine now or later? And thank you by the way, I was trying to at least make a good second impression, I know I am not the most attractive chica when I'm in grease monkey clothes."
She set the bottle on the small counter along with the glasses and smiled softly, tonight would prove to be interesting at least.

"Now?" Brian stated and took it from her hands again to pull the cork out. "Since your glasses are chilled...sneaky."
The smell of the lasagna was overwhelming. "I think you'll have me drooling on your floor if I have to wait much longer." Brian joked to lighten the mood.
At the mention of her grease monkey outfit he scratched his head and had to smile. Then Brian winked at her. "I can only tell you that girls smeared in grease really turn me on. Nothing better than a hot chick bent over the engine of a car." Of course he was playing wondering whether she'd take the bait or be offended by his talk. Cars were one of his passions, girls the other and both combined simply awesome. That might have been one reason why Mia attracted him so much...but that was in the past.

Angel laughed softly, "Don't worry, I'm just waiting for the cheese to melt. Then we can eat," she looked at him with an amused smile, "Well I've spent a good portion of my life bent over the hood of a car covered in engine grease, does that mean I'm one of your fantasy hot chicks?"
She moved around him, giving him space to pour the wine while she pulled out the lasagna from the oven. Smiling softly and feeling very much so like the home maker, Angel pulled the dinner out with a couple of hand towels and set it on the kitchen table which had two short white column candles on it that were already lit. She opened the fridge again and pulled out the garden salad out sitting that next to the lasagna.
"So what kind of salad dressing do you like, Brian? I have ranch, italian, catalina, and blue cheese."

Brian looked at the table with admiration. He hadn't eaten at a nice table like this for ages. "You know it's a date when there are candles on the table." He muttered. "Right?"
Then his eyes wandered to the food, which made his mouth water. The lasagna had better cool down fast or he'd really burn his tounge because he didn't want to wait any longer.
"Any, well, Ranch's my favourite....so you are one of my fantasy chicks with the engine grease and all but what's really the icing on the cake is this!" Motioning for the food he smiled, then took one of the glass and clinked it against hers. "Thanks for the invitation...that looks much better than maccharoni and cheese."

Angel shrugged, "It's a date if you want it to be," she said sitting the ranch down on the table before she looked at him strangely, "There is nothing wrong with mac and cheese. I make some damn good mac and cheese, I just figured something else would be better, and your welcome," she clicked her glass against his and nodded slightly, "You know I am actually glad I'm one of your fantasy chicks, makes my life a little easier, means I don't have to try so hard to impress you and possibly have you over for home cooked meals more often."
She took a sip of the wine and grabbed a couple of serving utensils setting them down next to the food, "Well come sit down, I can serve it and it'll cool off faster that way."

Brian followed her order and sat down taking a sip of his wine. It was good. His favourite Australian Chardonnay. He licked his lips and watched her bring the pot over and serve him, then herself. Briefly he closed his eyes and sighed. "Hm." A homecooked meal was something he hadn't had since Mia told him goodbye. Whether this would be a date or not he still had to decide.
A smile crossed his lips when he watched her. "So, do you want to tell me abit about yourself? All I know is you accomplished something with my car that a few other garages failed at."

Angel laughed softly, "Well you got to know what your doing when it comes to cars, most stock garages don't understand that it isn't just a job on someone else's car, we're like the doctors of someone's baby."
She pondered for a moment, taking another sip of the wine, "My life... So here is the short version; I moved to Japan when I was 6, lived there until I was 18, I modeled for about 6 years here and there. Most of the time it was for car magazines but I've been working with cars and motorcycles since I was 6, it's why I got sent to Japan. I went back to Cali when I was 18 and started a small garage there, but things were pretty tense so I moved here when I had more money, and the rest is the future."
She smiled softly picking at the salad, he wanted to know, and now he knew the short version.

"You worked on cars when you were six?" Brian listened to her story and then asked. "Wow, impressive and I like your philosophy on repairing cars. It definetly worked for my skyline."
Brian poked his finger into the pot on the table and licked it. "Oh, wow. Now don't make me wait any longer or I'll start begging."
He licked his lips and then said but neglected to tell her about his childhood or current life. Maybe she didn't want to know. It would be easier that way. "So how about those tattoes. I bet there's a story behind every single one."

Angel nodded, "My dad used to work on motorcycles in the back shed, but he didn't like it when I showed an interest in it, not to mention he caught me taking apart one of the bikes," she said laughing softly as she watched him, "Well..." She said innocently looking at the ceiling, "if your going to beg..."
She laughed softly and nodded, "Go ahead and dig in, I'm not going to make a starving man wait for food. Personally it's like an act of cruelty. My tats... hm, I suppose those do have stories, but some of them are just reminders of friends that passed away."
Angel impaled some lettuce on her fork and let the soft smile pass over her lips, stories were good, but she was doing all the talking.

For a moment Brian studied the woman in front of him and let his eyes roam over the visible part of her tattoes. Probably there were a few more hidden underneath her clothes. "I thought about getting one myself..." That had been a while ago when he was with Mia. "but now I'm kind of glad I didn't." He shrugged. "Maybe one day."
Then he enjoyed the rich tasted in his mouth. "You have many talents, Diablo." Still Brian tried to give away as little as possible about himself especially since he was investigating a car theft case.

"You'll know when to get one, it'll be the right time and the right reasons. I know that's how it was for me, it was the right time and the right reasons," She smiled and shrugged at him, "I have been told that on occasion that I have many talents."
Angel laughed softly and leaned back, "So mystery man, what about you? What happened in your life to put that mournful look on your face?"
She didn't want to pry but this was the second or third time that the sadness had entered his eyes without a reason she could see.

Brian smiled but didn't look at her. He was hoping not to have to give up too much personal information.
"Hm, what do you want to know?" Brian tried to buy some time and kept eating. "This is really good..I'd say you have a back up career." As she kept looking at him he decided to give up some information. "I've been racing for hm 8 years. Legally and well, illegally. I've moved to Miami about a year ago from LA-I'm originally from Barstow. What else? I like beer and good food." His eyes met hers. "And interesting women."

Angel laughed softly, "I have several backup careers actually. Professional Driver, Artist, full time Detailer, Car designer, Tattoo Artist, Model and Cook," she glanced him over and smiled, "I like to keep myself busy, what can I say, other then I am glad that I invited you over for dinner."
She was smiling softly as she ate and listened to him talk a little bit about his life, "Any family left in Barstow? What's it like there, I've never been," Angel questioned curiously trying to figure out a little bit more about him, all she wanted to know was the general information, the details right now weren't as important then the moment they were in now.

"Well, I know where to go if I need a paint job, tattoo or food then. And chance of a lap dance, too?" Brian was choking as he finished the last bite of his meal. "This was delicious. Thank you." He stated politely before he placed knife and fork on his plate and leaned back. "Mom and dad are still in Barstow, which is pretty dry and boring-not much there. My parents are both retired but they don't like to travel so I don't get to see them unless they come to whereever I put up my tent. "I also have a brother, who's in Miami. He's a ...not sure, what he does for a living." He lifted the glass of wine to his lips and finished it as well but quickly poured himself another one and topped hers up. "So what's your plan for the rest of the evening?" Brian wondered whether it'd be star gazing, walking on the water or taking a bike out for a spin, maybe even something more intimate.

"I have done them before, if you really need one it's not like I would say no to someone like you. Handsome and charming I could never say no to," Angel said grinning wolfishly as she looked at him worried that he was actually choking.
"Thank you," she said nodding as she finished her dinner, "I did not have any set plans so there are plenty of options. We can take a walk on the beach, we could take my baby out for a spin, or we can stay in for the night and get to know one another better and see where that ends up."

Brian looked at her as if he could see right through her and know what she thought it could lead to. He took his sweet time to answer her question though. "I'd like to see an awesome mechanic like you drive a car...and then, if you're up for it we could get to know each other better." He gave her a soft smile but his eyes sparkled mischievously. "And see whether it leads." He got up and took her hand, then quickly fished his glass from the table before he went towards the stairs. "I want to know what your own car sounds like after what you've done to mine." She must have spend endless hours working on her own baby and all the little details.
