Mia's tone was repulsive, but Cole needed answers. "Well, seeing that I now work for what appears to be a very close relative of yours, we're probably going to be hanging around each other more than we'd maybe like. I need an explanation to why I saw you in Tokyo with Brian and why you followed him here." Cole inadvertently gave away that Brian was indeed here, which he originally didn't want to do just yet. His concern at this point was Mia's involvement with the Mafia, and what exactly was said between her and Stephano. This could mean huge trouble for both he and Brian if she had mentioned him in a not so nice way.

“Well, that’s too bad about seeing each other in a daily basis,” she let out a laugh; yep she was right about Brian being here. “Like I said that’s none of your business, I have my reasons and I’m not in the mood of sharing those reasons with you,”
Why was he being pushy? She wasn’t going to share a thing with him. Why mention her plans to Cole? He wouldn’t help her besides the moment she got out of Tokyo was the day she swore she will never speak to Brian or ask for his help. She was a big girl and knew very well where and what she was getting herself into at this point.

After a second to think, Cole concluded that Mia associated him too closely to Brian, thus the reason why he was getting the cold shoulder. But if she wanted to avoid Brian, then why the hell was she in California? "And I have my reasons for wanting to connect the dots here." Cole shook his head and dug his keys out of his pocket. He realized he wasn't going to get anywhere here and may even make things worse. One thing was for sure, Brian needed to be on his toes.

Stephano saw everyone to the door. He made sure that no one was left inside the resturant other than those who worked there. As he turn looking out to the parking lot he saw Cole and Mia exchange gestures. Seeing Cole's dissapoint Stephano walked over.
"Believe me kid that girl is conpletely out of your league. Don't waste a breath."
Stephano patted Cole on the shoulder to consule him. He then reached into his pocket.
"Now I know you still haven't smoked the other one I gave you before but take it. And here's a lighter."
After handing Cole the Cigar and lighter he joined Paolo and Anthony behind the resturant in Vincient makeshift grave.. They then recieved the body of Vincient.
"Alright so the boys in the restuant are gonna clean the blood, right?" "Yes Anthony they will. You just need to calm down." "Alright boss, alright. I don't know. I just get a bad feeling." "You always do. Paolo how is the cermatorium looking?" "Fine as always." "Alright then, Paolo take the body there and disppose of it. Dump it off the pier when you're done." "Understood."
Anthony and Paolo place Vincient's lifeless corpse in to a bag and stuff it in Paolo's trunk. He then drives away to the crematorium. As Paolo drives off Anothony and Stephano emerge from the alley and proceed to their cars.

Cole couldn't help but laugh when Stephano thought that he was trying to come on to her. "Oh I've figured that out by now." He said jokingly and took the cigar. Might as well try it to see if they were any good. So he lit it and instantly felt like a badass, standing beside his car and watching Stephano walk away.
Once he had enough of that, he put it out and got in his car and drove off. He had some thinking to do.

Brian waited long enough to be sure that the coast was clear until he saw Cole walk out, talk to Mia and finally drive off. Seeing Mia here sparked something inside of him. Was it interest? Probably. More than protecting Cole from the mob Brian wanted to find out what Mia's involvement was so he made his way back to his car when suddenly he spotted a dark car with tinted windows come out of the alleyway next to the restaurant, just like the one the Stefano had been driving in before.
Quickly ducking behind his car he unlocked the passenger side and slid in. Mia was long gone and Cole would be at home so why not follow this car. Brian had a nose for trouble from years of undercover work and he knew the driver of this vehicle was up to something.
So it didn't come as a big surprise when he dumped a large bag of the pier. Brian had seen enough to put two and two together so when he arrived back home he was going to give Cole an earful.
He didn't even have to drive that far as he spotted Cole in one of his favourite places...the streets. So he flashed his headlights, then waited for Cole to stop and got into his passenger seat. "Guess what your employer just dumped off the pier in a big ole black bag?"

Cole thought stopping for an unknown car probably wasn't a good idea, but he had already done a bunch of things that probably weren't good ideas, so why not add another? He was quite surprised however, when Brian of all people suddenly invaded his passenger seat. "What th-....Have you been following me?" He asked accusingly. He then thought about Brian's statement. He had a pretty good idea what that was. "Honestly, I don't want to know." He shook his head.

Brian neglected to answer Cole's question about following him. He shrugged it off but when all Cole had to say about the bag was 'I don't want to know Brian's face got sour. "Do you really care that little about your own safety?" He searched Cole's face but he knew the answer. "I was in your shoes when I started out as a cop. Fast cars, fast money, cool people. I got lured into the whole scene and almost forgot who I really was. Don't forget who you are, Peyton."
For a moment he wondered whether to adress the subject but couldn't help it. "I saw Mia in there. Do you know what she wanted there?" Hopefully all she wanted was a nice dinner at a Italian restaurant.

Cole's eyes sagged down to the floor mats of his car. "I know what happened there, I just can't afford to get that in my head right now. Like it or not, I'm in this deal." He then leaned back in the seat and sighed. "My identity has changed so much, even I don't even know who I am anymore."
Cole's expression was suddenly energized when Brian mentioned Mia. "She recognized me, didn't want anything to do with me, and made sure that I didn't know anything about what she was doing there." He shook his head. "Keep your eyes out, bro."

It was time to give up on trying to talk Cole out of it. "I'll try to watch you back, kiddo, but I can't promise anything. I'm actually trying to stay out of trouble myself for Mira's sake."
When Cole mentioned that Mia didn't want anything to do with him, most likely because of his connection to Brian, he felt a sad sting in his chest. He knew Mia was out of reach for him but he wasn't ready to loose her forever as a friend. Mia was too valuable for him to simply let her walk away and hate him. "Did she say anything about me?"

Cole's typical stubbornness about the subject came out in his voice. "No, I don't want you to be anywhere around this. You have one of the biggest commitments a man could have with Mira and the child. You've got enough issues right now."
Answering Brian's question about Mia was surprisingly difficult. She never said anything about him, but he could tell the bitterness in her voice was solely because of Brian. Knowing that further explaining Mia's mood to Brian wouldn't do his emotions any good, he just let it go. "Nothing directly, no."

@nothing." Brian replied with a frown. It felt terrible that the woman he once loved and that he still cared so much about because she was a very important part of his life ran away from him and now seemed to hate him.
He made a mental note to keep following the younger driver and ignore his pleas. With a nod he opened the door. "I'll see you at the house. Stay out of trouble until then at least." With that he got out and clapped the roof before he walked away and silently curse Cole for his stubbornness.
