Brian was so close to Cole that his only choice was to follow the guy onto the side walk. He got thrown around when the tires hit the curb and made him wince but not as much as when he saw what the young racer was heading towards. Brian had to make a decision and fast. As usual when he was behind the wheel his brain seemed to blend out all fear and reasonable thinking. Just like Cole he pushed the pedal to the metal and headed up the ramp.
A moment later he lost touch with the steel and he felt weightless when his car took a dive back onto the road just a tiny bit after Coles. Unfortunately it didn't land straight but slightly sideways. Next thing he knew was that the front and back left tire lost contact with the tramac that it just had smashed against. Would it roll or tip back?

With one eye on the road and one eye in the mirror, Cole watched as Brian had even more adventures than he had on the landing. His skyline landed awkwardly and as a result tipped up on one side. For a second, it looked like it was going to set back down, if it weren't for a pothole, it probably would have. The pothole was just enough to finish gravities job and cause the car to roll on the right side, thankfully it just skidded on the right side door, and didn't start barrel rolling. Confident he had actually won the race, Cole easily coasted up to the the State Farm building, the finish point for this mess of a race. He was concerned for Brian, since the right side is the drivers side of that car. Before he had the chance to step out of his battered evo, the skyline dragged right up next to his car, sparks flying, still on it's side, stopping almost parallel to Cole. He stepped over to the car and laid on the ground where he could get a look at part of the driver door. "You all right bro?" He called, a little worried. "At least you finished."

For the longest time it looked like the Skyline would simply tip back on all tires but when it hit a pothole in the road his cards changed and it flipped completely to the right side. Bringing up his right hand he kept his head from connecting with the breaking right window. At least the racing belts kept his body in place until the awefully loud sqeaking finally stopped and the car came to a halt. The cop could feel his heart beating in his neck as he took a moment to breathe. He was alright. For some reason the window hadn't burst out but simply broken like a spider web but stayed in place. A dry laugh escaped his lips when the worst was over and he spotted Cole's face at the front windshield. With shaky fingers he reached for the buckle of his belt to release it when he noticed that his right arm actually hurt from smashing against the window. Other than that he didn't have a single scratch. Showing Cole the thumbs up he unbuckled himself and tried to crawl out of the wreck, which proofed quite hard because the passenger door wasn't easy to open at this angle.

Satisfied that Brian looked alright. He walked over to the other side of the car and pushed the passenger door open to make Brian's escape easier. Once he was out of the car, Cole looked around at the general public, the tow truck operator looked pissed, and a bunch of freaked out pedestrians appeared to be calling the police. He leaned towards Brian. "Man, we got to get out of here. Your buddies will be here in a few minutes." Helping Brian push against the roof of the skyline, they managed to get it back on all 4 wheels.

Only when Brian climbed up onto the left side of the car to get out did he notice that he had actually almost 'parallel parked with Cole. "Who won, bro?" Was his biggest concern for a second until he jumped down and looked at his scratched and squashed baby. The sight almost made tears spring to his eyes hadn't he been so hopped up on adrenalin. Brian noticed the faces of a few people who staring at the two men. Some young kid was actually filming everything with his phone. "It's alright. No need to call the police." Turning back to the car he pushed it back onto its wheels and made a face. "Oh my, what have I done?" The sirens in the distance gave away that his colleagues were unusually fast today, so he clapped Cole on the back and got back into the car. The side was so banged up that he couldn't sit comfortable and actually had stir with his left hand. "Giddy up, we got company."

Cole laughed. "Well by virtue of the fact that I still had my wheels on the ground, I managed to get here first. Good race though." He smiled. Looking around his own car was not a pretty sight, the left rear quarter panel was destroyed from when that truck hit him, the front splitter and grill was demolished from the hard landing, and it appeared the right side suspension was broken. The sound of cops wasn't surprising, but it certainly wasn't at an appreciated time. He jumped into and started his car, praying it was still drivable. He thought his best bet would be to follow Brian wherever he went, since he had the police scanner. Brian ran off in his skyline and likewise as did Cole, his steering was majorily f**ked up, but atleast he could drive it.

Usually it was easy to loose a bunch of cops in a car like Brian's but now it didn't run quite the way it used to. In fact part of the front fender was grinding against the tire. If he kept going like that the damn thing might blow. Brian turned the wheel to the left directing it into an back alley, then right and left again. In the shadows he turned off his headlights.

Cole checked all his gauges to see if anything was amiss, everything looked good until he came across the water pressure gauge, which was falling. "Damnit." He muttered. Luckily for him, Brian seemed to know what he was doing and got them deep into some back roads. He saw Brian pull in on one darkly lit street and shut everything off. Cole decided he'd park on a similar street across from Brian. He too drove a little ways into it and shut everything down. He then got out and got under the car, inspecting the water leak. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Brian walking towards him, he must've been pretty confident about this place.

Brian got on his knees and poked his head under the car observing some water from a small puddle. "You're fucked, dude. Leave it hear or you'll screw up the engine." Then he stood up and rubbed his sore elbow. "Man, I hoped your car was in better shape." For a moment he paced back and forth. "Sit it out and hope they don't find us here and go for it now? I have a can of coke in my car that you can poor in there for now." What a brilliant idea...coke.

Cole was attempting to stick some gum in where the weld broke on the radiator, to a degree it was working. Or atleast the leak wasn't as bad. He crawled out from under the car and leaned on the fender. "I say we wait a bit, the last thing we can do is get into a pursuit with our cars like this." He rubbed his eyes. He still wasn't completely sure he fully trusted Brian yet, especially with his collegues searching for them, so he decided not to tell him about his intersecting red light madness. Then Cole remembered something earlier Brian had said about the exotic car scene here, and to not get involved. Cole moved his eyes over to meet Brian's. "Now would be a good time to tell me why I shouldn't play too much with high end cars. You got me curious."

"Huh?" Brian was preoccupied with looking for his colleagues and listening in on them on the radio. "They're still in the area." He then turned to Cole. "There's just some bad shit going down...car stealers/dealers, you know. You don't have to concern yourself with that. Just don't buy any black market Jaguars and Porsches."

Cole thought for a moment. The message he got from Brian was "There's bad stuff going on down here, don't get into it." There was shit going on all over these days. Whether it'd be drug smuggling or car boosting, why did he need Brian to tell him to stay out of it? He was intelligent enough to know what and what not to do, hell, he was one of the few street racers who wasn't involved in some under-the-table crime. After 15 minutes or so of casual chit-chat, and not hearing any police sirens in the area, Cole decided he'd head back to the garage, confident he had enough water in the radiator to make it back. Now he had two cars to fix, great. He offered a final handshake to Brian. "Good race bro, it was an honor. I hope we do it again sometime." He grinned at Brian and sat in his car, starting it and drove off, still keeping an eye out for police.
