So Brian was a daddy, god she couldn’t get her head around the whole thing. Brian O’Conner was a daddy, she was so spreading that news to her brother when she spoke to him next. The only problem now was, she was more than sure that with everything that was going on, the last thing on their minds had been baby things. She had no idea how much they had, or what they had, and what they didn’t have. So she was taking him shopping, with no way to contact Brian, (she really needed to grab his number again) she pulled up to his house and hoped he was at home.
Pulling her car to a stop outside the house, killing the engine she slid free of the car, pulling the coffees with her, and slowly headed up to the door, knocking on the door and waiting for him to answer. “Come on Bri I got coffee, extra strong” She knocked again, tapping her foot. It was still early, maybe he was in the hospital…or with Mira, she hadn’t seen any signs that Mira was living here with him.
With a frown she took a swallow from her coffee and turned away from the door, she’d come back later, maybe he would be in then.

On how little sleep can a person survive? Brian had asked himself that question multiple times over the course of the past week with the trial and the twins birth. The circles under his eyes seemed deeply engraved in his face and the beard he was sporting made every lumberjack look like a beginner. All he wanted to do was sleep...for two days straight. While Mira and the twins were still in the hospital Brian used the opportunity to catch up before they came home...whereever that would be. After sleeping for almost 16 hours he was laying in bed wide awake but his thoughts almost blank when a knock on the door startled him. He rolled out of bed, ran his hand through his shaggy hair and pulled one of the shirts from the floor on. Then he made his way downstairs just to find Faye at the door with her back to him. This time he didn't say that Jack wasn't home but simply looked at her and the coffee in her hands. "Hi. For me or my brother?" Since he hadn't seen Jack around her reached for one of the cups. "He's not here, so I'll take it anyway. I could use some coffee....donuts as well?"

The sound of the door opening stopped her from going any further and she turned to look towards Brian, honestly, he looked worse than he did the last time she had seen him, which was saying something because he had looked terrible then as well. As he reached for the coffee she offered it up to him, smiling slightly, before sighing, “Not here for Jack Brian” She muttered with a shake of her head. Brian seemed to be doing a damn good job at mentioning the guy every time she was around. Shaking her head slightly she smiled.
“Sorry, but we can get some later” She stated ushering him back up the steps and into the house “Take your coffee, go grab a shower, clean up, im taking you shopping for baby things” She stated as she looked around the house with a wrinkle of her nose.
“Is Mira coming back here or?” She questioned trying to figure out what the hell they would need, “In fact, what do you guys have for the babies?” She questioned looking over at him as she drank down her own coffee, good, still hot, just the way she liked it.

For a moment he savoured the taste of the dark, hot coffee in his mouth then took a deep breath and quirked his brow. "You came because of baby things? Last thing I heard you were talking to my friend Cole about Dom."
her question was legit so he sat down and had another sip before he said. "We haven't really figured that out yet because this place is a mess and it's Jacks and Mira is living with her dad. My boat is back in Miami so... we actually need an apartment but have no jobs." He sighed running his hand over his face. "Maybe I should hit the races and make some cash so we can rent a place."

Faye snapped her gaze over towards Brian with a raise of her brow “More like I was asking about the guy Mia had gone to, to help Dom out” She stated, if Cole was opening his mouth to Brian, who else was going to hear about it. God if Leon found out, or worse, Joker. Oh yea that was not a conversation she wanted to happen.
Taking a seat on the edge of the couch she nodded her head ever so slightly smiling, “well I think your in luck” She stated with a bright smile “I have a guy who is heading out of the country and he’s putting his apartment up for rent, its cheap, I can give him a call if you like, go round, take a look then go buy some stuff for your babies, it could be a nice surprise for Mira” She suggested, resting back and concentrating on her drink, it was the least she could do for not being there when they had needed her.

Cheap in LA usually meant run down, so if Faye really knew somebody who wanted to rent his place quickly Brian would jump right on it. "With everything that happened lately I haven't gotten around to look at places but I guess it's time to get my act together. Can you set up a meeting?" There was a hint of a smile on his tired features. After another sip of hot coffee he added. "I appreciate your help. I guess I look like I need it." He admitted with a genuine smile at her. "So let's do this." He scratched his beard and asked. "Can you show yourself with me like this in public?"

“The place isn’t too bad, the area is pretty good, lick of paint here and there and you guys could make it a real home” She stated as she looked over at him with a smile.”Ill give him a call and we can go look at it today” She looked over at Brian shaking her head slightly.
“we all need help sometimes Brian. It took me a long time to admit that” She stated softly, laughing slightly she made a face. “Honestly you should go clean it up a little” She teased. He really did look run down and tired. “Go on and ill make this call, then treat you to a decent meal” Reaching into her pocket she pulled out her phone, flicking through until she found the number.
“Hey Mike its Faye listen iv got a guy interested in your place, can we come take a look” Nodding her head slightly she smiled, “He’s a good guy, alright I can draw something up for you if he wants it” Nodding her head again she flicked her gaze over towards Brian. “Alright I will do, cya” Ending the call she focused on Brian.
“We can head over whenever, he’s all day, but he said to show you around” Taking a large swallow of her coffee she licked the remainder from her lips. “So how bout we go get some breakfast then head over there. You want it you can be in by the end of the day”

"Wow." Brian ran his hand through his shaggy hair surprised by her initiative and the word good guy. He had always considered himself one of the good guys but lately that picture had been a little shaken. "Am I a good guy if I have a criminal record?" He asked slowly and let his eyes meet hers. "He would probably want to know that...and there will be a lot of noise with two babies." He sighed tired and rubbed his face. Since when had he become so negative. This attitude drove him crazy so he straightened up. "Damnit. Okay, I'm sorry. i'll hop in the shower and then we head out." Faye was such a blessing at the moment. Just a helper with no strings attached. It was nice to have her around. Gulping down the rest of his he headed upstairs and turned on the water. As soon as it was warm he dropped his clothes on the floor and stepped inside. The warm water woke him up and refreshed him enough to get the day started on a better note. He dried off and combed his hair back making a mental note to get a hair cut. Then he shaved part of the wild growth on his face off and got dressed in the last clean clothes he had. Downstairs he greeted Faye in a much better mood. "Gotta make a good impression on the land lord." What a gay pic -that must be from Fast + Furious number one

Faye looked over at him with concern shining her eyes, slowly she nodded her head “Brian I deal with bad guys on a daily basis, criminal record or not you’re one of the good ones” She stated gently, her dark eyes shining as she looked at him “You’re a good guy Brian, and im vouching for you, so criminal record or not he won’t mind. He won’t be in town so the noise of two babies won’t bother him” She stated gently pointedly raising a brow so he would get the hint to get his ass up stairs.
Laughing slightly she nodded her head. Brian had never been one for the out there happiness but she had never seen him this down before. He seemed reserved, out of sorts, clearly things with the trial and everything had put him out of whack, they couldn’t have that now could they. So hopefully things would clear them out for him. She was hoping anyway. Waiting for him to come back down she sat tapping her foot, she really hated being in this house, to many memories, not all of which were bad.
Finally Brian made it down the stairs and she smiled over at him “Your looking better” She stated genuinely happy to see that he looked a little perkier. “Mike won’t be there but we can still look around the place, and we’ll have everything run through me if you want it” She stated leading him to the door and to her car. Once they were both settled she set of, the pair making small talk until they pulled up to a vacant house. The neighbourhood wasn’t the best but the house was solid, front lawn freshly mown, a hell of a lot better than Jack’s place.
“Come on lets take a look inside” She stated leading him up the path, and finding the spare key exactly where Mike had said it would be. Unlocking the door she stepped inside. Everything was modestly decorated in pale creams, a couple of sofas and even a fridge out back. “Furniture comes with it as well” Her gaze looked over at Brian with a raise of her brow “Two bedrooms, kitchen, ensuit built into the main bedroom” Eyeing Brian she smiled.
“So what do you think?”

The ride with Faye was easy and the house much better than Jack and better than Brian expected. He liked the fact that it had a lawn since they were expecting children and once they were a little older they could kick a ball around on it. "It's a house, not just an apartment." He stated the obvious. "Nice."
Quickly he followed Faye inside where a nice, clean place was greeting him. "This is so much better than Jack's shack!" He exclaimed with a smile on his lips. "How much does he want? You know the department doesn't send me any cheques any more."
With interest he walked from room to room, opened the fridge and sat on the sofa. "I'll take it if I can afford it. Now I just need a job to go with this. But I think I could do a race or two to come up with the first rent."
He looked at Faye in her nice, fashionable clothes and her good job as a lawyer. Not too long ago he had been just like her and now he was struggling to stay out of prison. "Do you know Mira? Since you work with cops. Her last name is Hobbs."

Faye nodded her head “You bet it is, you’re a father now, you need something like this” She stated as she looked over at him. Leading up and inside she allowed him to take a look around, the further he roamed in the house, the more he seemed to fall in love with it. Mike had done a good job with the place. Faye looked over at him with a smile. “Don’t you worry about any of that Brian. First month is all taken care of”
Okay so she hadn’t been exactly honest with Brian, and she had already sorted everything out with Mike when she had first arrived. Smiling over at Brian she finally relented knowing he wouldn’t rest until he knew how much the place. “Its $350 a month” She stated. Cheap, extremely cheap she knew, but Mike wasn’t exactly in need of the money.
“But like I said Brian, first month is all taken care of. If you’re taking it I’ve got papers drawn up in the car, sign them and the place is yours” Offering him a smile she pondered for a moment, her head tipping to the side as she looked at him. Heaving in a deep breath she finally nodded her head.
“The name sounds familiar” She offered shrugging a shoulder ever so slightly. “so what did you finally name them?” She questioned looking over at him.

Brian turned to look at her surprised. "What? Did you pay the first month?" Then he wrinkled his brow. "You didn't know whether I want it or not." Shaking his head he smiled at her. "So where's the downside? This place for 350 a month? You can easily rent it out for that much a week!" he stressed. Then he sat down on the arm of the sofa and placed his hand on her arm. "I appreciate your help. This is really nice and we need a good place for our kids to come home to...I mean..." He paused and got lost in thoughts for a moment. "I always pictured this a little different. I thought I'd get married and settle down and one day maybe bring home a baby to somewhere that is actually my home, you know? " Silently he wondered whether he'd even thought that far but if he did it certainly wasn't this version.

Faye looked over at him “This place is a hell of a lot nicer than Jack’s Bri, you’ve got two children to think of” She shrugged a shoulder ever so slightly deliberately ignoring his question. Yea she had paid his first month up front, and his second and his third. He didn’t need to know any of that though.
“No downside, you’d think id put you in a position with a downside?” She questioned looking over at him. “Mike needs the place gone ASAP and honestly he doesn’t really care about the money” She stated gently her dark eyes softening as she looked over at Brian.
Dark eyes looked over at him with understanding burning in her eyes, her gaze dropping for a moment down to the ring on her finger. She never for a second thought she would be engaged, least of all to Joker “We all imagine things going differently Brian, but we deal with the card’s we’re dealt” Looking up at him she shrugged a shoulder slightly.
“One day things are going to get easier, and your going to have everything you always imagined”

He listened to her words , noted her look and the ring on her finger for a moment but then thought about her words. He would have all the things he ever wanted. With a sour sweet smile he shook his head. "I doubt it." Two things he had wanted for a very long time were so far out of reach. Being a cop, so he could protect the good people and lock the bad ones up, and Mia.
"What about you? Is that true for you?" he finally took a moment for a real conversation with Faye, who did everything to help him. In all his mystery he had forgotten to actually care how she was doing. After all she was leons little sister.

He didn’t seem too happy with her choice of words, but then, when you were in the situation he was in things looked pretty bleak. He was in the exact same position as she had once been in. Not knowing if things would turn out for the better, not knowing what the hell was going on. “You just have to have faith Brian, may not seem like it now, but trust me okay” Her dark hues locked with his lighter ones hoping he would take some hope out of her words. No matter what he wasn’t in this alone.
Licking her lips she slowly nodded her head, her finger rolling her engagement ring around her finger, “It is” She whispered gently “Im engaged” Her face with a light with happiness at the thought, she still couldn’t believe Joker had proposed. “Can you er not tell Leon if you see him though, we haven’t exactly gotten around to telling him yet”

Her words completely took him by surprise but shed some light on why she was telling him that everthing would fall into place. "Wow, really?" He smiled at her broadly because she suddenly seemed to beam with happiness that was contagious. "You're getting married!" He nodded even though he couldn't believe it. "I won't tell Leon. I never see the guy anyway. Who's the lucky man?" He asked wondering for a moment whether his brother might have just skipped that detail...no that couldn't be.

Faye couldn’t help but laugh at his reaction. With sparkling eyes she nodded her head “Yea it was a complete shock” She muttered with a small shrug of her shoulders. Hell she hadn’t been back with Joker for two seconds before he was popping the question but she wasn’t complaining.
“That’s odd, he’s been hanging at Doms old garage thought you two would have been tight” Faye shrugged a shoulder slightly, she really was going to have to talk to her brother, the guy had turned into a recluse.
“Er” Biting the inside of her lip slightly she let out a deep breath “Its Joker…er Walter” She muttered as she looked over at Brian, the smile falling form her face slightly, she had no idea how he was going to take that piece of news.

It's great to see her that happy because Brian still needed to find his own happiness, tranquility, peace of mind and it seemed like Faye had done exactly that. When she mentioned that he hung out at Doms garage Brian still wasn't sure who she meant but then she dropped the name and Brians face dropped. Walter, Joker...the guy who had framed him, almost taken away his freedom, shot all these people on the boat and had been gunned down in court when he delivered the evidence that Brian was actually innocent. "Walter, as in the guy who got shot in the court room because he delivered the evidence that set me free?" He gasped because he wasn't sure that Faye already knew. It had only happened a few hours ago.

Yep and there it was licking her lips ever so slightly she let out a slow breath. “Iv known him for a while Brian, I know the things he does” Looking up at him she frowned ever so slightly. She didn’t know the ins and outs of his job, but she knew first hand what Joker was capable of. Drawing her lower lip between her teeth she sighed softly to herself.
“Hes a good guy, he really is” Looking over at Brian she desperately wanted him to know that “I know you’ve had your crap with him, but I swear Brian, he truly is a good guy” Shaking her head slightly she stood up from the couch.
“Come on I promised you Donuts”

"That's why you're calling me a good guy." Brian remarked with a sharp tongue. "If Walter is a good guy, I'm a saint." He stated dryly but he could practically see her face drop. Brian wasn't that insensitiv and knowing that Faye could very well make her own decisions about who she wanted to be with he add. "Sorry, I'm a little sour for what he did back on that boat...even if he tried to right his wrongs." Running both hands over his head it finally dawned on him. "Is that why your helping me with the apartment and all?"
