Brian broke every traffic law out there on his way to the hopsital but when he arrived completely out of breath at the maternity ward he found both Mira and the kids unharmed.
It took a lot of convincing but finally the hospital agreed to let them go home on their own responsibilty after Brian explained the situation.
More than thankful he received both babies in his arms and together with Mira brought them to the car bundled up in warm blankets.
Because home wasn't an option right now they went to a motel instead and paid cash. "I got them. they're alright." He called Mia and Dom.
After making sure that Mira had everything she needed he kissed her and with regret explained. "I have to go back. I have to make sure this guy is not going anywhere."

Dom's immediate reaction to Mia's tale of stupidity was nothing short of unproductive right now, fortunately he realized that and didn't say a word, yet showed his disapproval through his expression. This was exactly what he didn't want, now it felt like everyone around him was involved tightly in this mess, it wasn't by any means just him and Dieseli now, it went much deeper than that.
Dom only had one idea. Cole must by now be pretty familiar with the inner workings of the organization he works for, he could maybe lay out exactly who's who and what they'd need to expect from each branch. Of course that information was only useful if you had a plan. Dom had one, but it wasn't pretty, far from it. It wasn't something he wanted to go through with unless there was no other choice.
Dom was pissed at the sight of the photograph of Brian's kids, what kind of low scum brings newborns into adult's messes? Apparently these guys. Brian was dead right, this was ugly, beyond ugly, this needed to be stopped. When Brian called to confirm that all was well, Dom said to him. "Brian, you say you trust Cole. Call him, tell him to be at the Fort ASAP."
Once they hung up, Dom finally had the words to speak to his sister. "What in the hell possessed you to go talk to Dieseli's goon without even mentioning it to me?"

"I don´t know, Dom..." The situation was so out of control, she honestly didn´t know what possessed her to go talk to Sam or threat him... an aswer Dom wasn´t looking for but what else could she say?
"You can be pissed with me all you want later, but for now we have to do something... if something happens to those kids," she stopped her thoughts to even go there. There was no way she could sneak out of her house and go to the hospital to see Sam´s mom. She had to think of something quick...

It was almost three hours later when Brian arrived back at the Fort. By now things had cooled down somewhat and Brian trusted Mira to protect their children since she was a cop and gun trained, plus she was a mother, which might count for more.
"They're safe now." Brian told the siblings when he entered their home. With a deep sigh he sat down. "What do we do?"

It had been a few hours since Brian left. The house was filled with tension it was just Dom and Mia. She sat down looking at the picture Brian left on the table. His kids were beautiful... too small to tell how much of Mira personality or Brian both of the twins would have, she caressed the picture with her fingertips.
The door open and Brian came in taking a seat, when she heard his words about his kids being safe relief washing over her placing the picture once again on the table. She looked at Dom and then down at the picture... "You need to contact Cole,"

"Okay." Brian nodded because he figured talking to the only guy with some inside knowledge of the mobsters organization was a good idea.
So he dialled Cole's number and waited for him to answer the phone. "Hey, bro. It's Brian. Listen, it's urgent. I need to see you asap at Mia's place. Remember where it is?" He hung up with a lot of tension. Cole was the only tiny bit of hope they had. "He'll be here tonight." Brian let the others know.
His eyes found Mia's for a brief moment and he felt sorry for getting so angry at her. Her actions however might have put her in a lot of danger. "Can we talk?" he wonder with a side glance at her brother.

Mia took a moment to look at Brian dialed Cole´s number. The call was quick and to the point, they all had now to wait for Cole to arrive. His eyes found hers and with quick glance at Dom she nodded. "Yeah," answering his question.
She stood up and walk out to the small patio where every Sunday afternoon a barbecue was held, she smiled at the memory and walked a little more where a set of chairs were taking a seat waiting for Brian to speak.

Brian followed Mia out of the house and told Dom. "Give us a moment, will you?" The memories also found him outside. Memories of good times, that were hard at times but not quite as messed up as now. Mia sat down in one of the big chairs and Brian followed her example but made sure to scoot a little closer. He then looked up at her and asked. "How are you doing? You must be shaken up, too." If he imagined the dark haired hot head coming face to face with a professional killer, who held a knife to her neck, he shuddered. "I'm sorry I got so angry before...it's because I worry about you. This man is dangerous and you met with him one on one." He put a bittersweet smile on his face while he reached for her hand. "I know you don't want anything to do with me anymore but I still care about you." For some reason Brian had the urge to smother out things between them and he definetly couldn't loose her on top of Jack.

She exhaled out loud once he started asking. “You know me very well, I can´t say I´m fine because I´m not…” she looked down at her hands. "Angry? Brian you lost it back there," “It was a risky thing to do… not knowing for a moment if I was coming home… I never imagined or understood the things that go through your mind when your that close to die. If he wanted to kill me he would´ve already had done it. He had the chance… after all he held my chin and head ready to snap my neck…but to cut a piece of my hair…” she frown looking up at Brian trying to understand Sam´s way of thinking. She didn’t remove her hand instead let him took it. “…I know you care about me even if you never told me, I care about you too but…” she paused for a moment. “You could´ve been out of the US at this time spending a wonderful time with Mira and your children not be stuck here looking after Jack and his mess, and now not only you have to worry about him but your children too because I wasn´t careful enough.”

Mia was right, what was important was the immediate situation, he didn't have time to play parent with her, nor did he really want to.
He nodded as Brian and his sister moved out to the patio, not sure if now was the time for them to try to make things right, but it couldn't hurt anything. He couldn't really go much farther until he talked to Cole, he could only hope the kid knew as much about who he worked for as Dom was counting on.

Up to this point, Cole spent much of his day at the gym. Everything from doing some bench pressing, sprinting on the treadmill, and playing a few pick up game at the basketball court. It was another coping technique he developed to handle all the stress, anything he could do to make his mind not think about work.
Right as he got to the rented estate he called home and changed into some fresh clothes, his phone buzzed. He wasn't real surprised to hear Brian on the line, but his tone did surprise him. It sounded sick, worried sick, and panicky almost. "Yeah I remember, I'll be there soon." He hung up and grabbed the keys to his newly delivered Lamborghini.
Soon enough, he came to quick halt in front of what he was pretty sure was the Toretto's residence. A look towards the patio of the house confirmed that as he saw Brian and Mia having a little chat. Cole hopped up out of the Gallardo and jogged up the steps. "Judging by your voice, I was expecting to see the house on fire or something." He grinned, also giving an acknowledging nod to Mia. "What's up?"

Her words were true and it was damn hard not to be angry at her but what good would that do. "I trust you learned your lesson. Just don't do it again. There's no use in blaming you. What's done is done. we have to solve this now." He sighed and pulled her into a hug. When he let go he sat back in his chair and explained. "I can't leave the country right now. I can't let him die but I'll put Mira and the babies in the car and send them far away." Once again he looked up at her imagining how this man had held her chin and head in his hands ready to snap it. The thought alone made his stomach turn. If anything happened to Mia he'd be incredibly devasted. She'd been a part of his life even when she wasn't physically present. Mia had changed Brian in many ways. If only she knew.
The sound of a car had him on high alert. Qucikly Brian got up and snuk around the side of the Fort. It was Cole in his stylish Lamborghini. "Good to see you, bro." brian greeted him. "The house is on fire. Let's talk inside."
When they entered he explained the situation from the mess his brother was in to Dominic being sent as an assissin and the other guy: Sam ward. "We need all the knowledge about Stephanos organization we can get from you. If you want to protect yourself I understand but the guy is threatening my brother and my babies. Please, Cole."

Cole raised a curious brow as Brian led them inside. He saw Dom sitting by the kitchen table, looking much more distressed than he could have ever pictured the guy. Brian's explanation of the situation really was worse than he could've imagined. Mia had already been hurt, his kids were in jeopardy, and it truly sounded like people were going to start dying any second now. Maybe this was why Brian had stopped being so critical of his job, his own brother did something much stupider.
"Stephano is cold blooded, getting on his bad side is lethal." Cole said feeling he was maybe stating the obvious. "What exactly is your plan that involves needing to know everything about his mob? If I were you guys I would've left town yesterday." He furrowed his brow and took a look at each of them, they all wore the same expression. He wanted to help, but was concerned that they were going to try something stupidly risky, why else would they want to know about the inner workings? He let out a sigh an glanced at them. "Look, Mr. Dieseli is not someone to mess with. I've watched the guy kill innocents without even flinching, if you give him any reason to think your a threat, he'll kill you and everyone you know once he's done using you. That's why you need to get Jack, Mira, your kids, and go to Canada or something."

Dom gave Cole a nod as he came in. "Happy you could join us, Peyton." He listened as he rambled on about the mobster, it gave Dom a sick feeling inside thinking about who this was pertaining to.
"If we run, we'll just be hunted until we cure the problem, so what's the point of running, Cole?" Dom said more as a statement than a question. "The plan is to get the feds straight on the core of this mob. You tell us everybody who's somebody in the Dieseli family, we get federal authorities on them, and it's over." Dom laid out his unrefined plan, fully aware of how wrong it could go, but what choice did they have?

She looked at him when he said about her learning her lesson. "Yes..." she said it in a way that might sound like she mean it to Brian. In a way she did learn her lesson but she just couldn´t guarantee him she wasn´t going to see Sam again... she still had to learn more, it became personal to her when she saw the picture of Brian´s twins.
Cole finally arrived and she and Brian went inside where moments ago they were yelling at each other. She nodded when she saw Cole entered the house, and took a seat. "Tell us everything you know..." looking at Cole.

That was his plan? Call the cops? He huffed. "You think the feds don't already know about these guys? Dieseli's mob spans across the west coast, this isn't just some underground gang in southern California. The majority of the LAPD is on his payroll, that's how he gets away with everything. Getting the feds on him would be only a nuisance, don't think he wouldn't offer 10 million or more to the investigators to turn a blind eye, both to his operation and your murders."
Cole leaned back on the counter top with a small frown on his face, he saw how desperate they were. It was almost like they knew how thin the rope was that they were walking on, but didn't have any other exit. He figured he might as well give them want they want, and hope he wasn't helping them commit suicide. "Alright, obviously Stephano is the head man. Whatever he says to anyone they obey without question. He was one man right under him, Paulo I believe his name is. He's the one that would take Dieseli's place if something happened to him. Stephano also has a daughter who isn't a whole lot older than I am. She's in charge of the drug cartels, and I'd expect she's third in command given her profile. They deal almost exclusively with drugs, and they have a lot of money in drugs at any given time floating around the roads, ocean, whatever." An idea came to him to suggest if they wanted to try something other than run.
"I will say this, you take Dieseli's money, you take his power, if you take his power, he's vulnerable."

"What? Rina´s involved too?" How could she forget Rina? Everytime Stephano went to visit her dad he always brought Rina with him. Despite the age difference, Mia had a blast taking care of little Rina back then. The situation wasn´t getting any better. Cole was right, Stephano had lots of power. The siblings were lucky this man trusted in them...but that didn´t mean they were on the safe side.

Brian was thankful that Cole not only told them what he knew but also warned them. "Cole is right." He confirmed. Your uncle has an incredible network in place. Many people know about his crimes, yet he has never been convincted of any...makes you wonder why. If we want to pin something major on him we need hard evidence and the crime has to be big enough for a life time sentence and even then we'll constantly have to watch our back because he will keep operating from inside prison....are you really willing to risk that? Or do we try to throw his goon off Jack's track long enough for my brother to disappear?" He was just thinking out loud but knew that either way they might be screwed.
"How would you get access to his money." Brian enquired with sparked interest.

"Oh yes, Rina is the reason Stephano has the time to go to the races and make money there. She practically runs that side of things." Cole answered the Toretto. She seemed to know an awful lot about the family herself, then again it wouldn't come as much of a surprise as he saw her with the mobster at the dining room several weeks back. He wondered how conflicted she felt about this.
At least Brian was seeing this straight, mostly anyway. He truly believed they were 100% screwed, Jack especially, and if they tried to help Jack, it only get themselves buried. "Running is pointless for either you or Jack. He knows you guys exist, he'll just picking all of you off one by one until Jack comes back, that is, if he can actually get away for a decent period of time." He saw a bit of a skeptical look from the Toretto's, Dom especially. "Don't think that because you guys are close to him that he wouldn't lay a hand on you. I saw him kill one of his close partners just for making fun of a guest. There is no boundaries with this guy."
He thought long and hard about Brian's question. It was a good one, the question was if it was even possible to get access to his money. "I dunno, he runs trucks full of stuff from Mexico to all kinds of places in the Southwest. I'd make a safe guess that each of those trucks probably carries between 20-30 million worth of drugs. He's basically the only supplier for drug dealers anywhere around here." He paused and thought for another moment. This was a crazy idea. "If you could somehow take control of several of those trucks at a time, you'd have a big portion of his wealth, so much so that he may listen to your demands if you hide it well."

The fact that Cole knew Stephano would hurt Mia and Dom as well when it came down to it made Brian even more nervous. "See?" he asked Mia and gave her another warning look.
He thought about his suggestion to hijack some of the trucks. "Wouldn't that put us in the same bad position as Jack is in now?" He spun the thought a little further. "I doubt that we have enough time to figure out a plan before he kills Jack. We only have two days. I think we have to get out of Jack what and where he was running and take the same route. Either help Jack to get his stuff back or pretend he did...."
His head was starting to spin. Usually Brian was good as solving problems but not when his own family's life was a stake. His head was spinning so he started rubbing his temples. "Shit...I don't know what else to do than hold a gun to Stepano's head...or Rhinas...is Jack really worth the trouble? He doesn't seem to give a shit." Words were just flowing from his mouth as he throught them.
