After Dani had gone home for some clean clothes, Jack was left with nothing else to do but twiddle his thumbs as he sat on the couch. He didn't even bother to turn the tv on. He'd discovered a long time ago that day-time tv consisted mostly of programs like 'Oprah' and 'As the world turns', the likes of which he found incredibly mind numbing. How stay at home moms could even put up with that crap was beyond him and it was at times like these, he actually seriously contemplated on finding a job just to fill up some time. However, flipping through the paper usually ended up in a whole lot of nothing since he always tended to get 'distracted' while job-hunting.
With a sigh he let his gaze wonder around the room, looking for something to occupy his time with, when his eyes stopped on the books where Brian had stuffed the map in between. How could he have forgotten about that damn thing? Well, he knew how. As soon as Dani had come outside that morning he'd instantly forgotten about a lot of things, like the argument with his brother. Brian must have been pretty surprised at how easy he'd let the whole thing slide. It wasn't sliding anymore now though.
With a jolt, he stood up and pulled the folded up piece of paper from between the books and unfolded it on the table. It was a lot easier to read and understand now, being sober and actually having enough light to see a damn thing, but he wasn't sure if he wanted to understand it as he looked at the small notes written here and there. If this was for an assignment than Jack was the fucking easter bunny. It was safe to say that he wasn't, not even close. He folded the map back up and put it in his waistband then pulled his shirt over it. Brian was going to get a surprise when he came home though Jack would play it cool at first, like nothing was wrong.
Now all he had to do was wait while he sank bank in to the couch and resumed his thumb twiddling. Only a glint in his eyes gave away that he wasn't as bored as he seemed.

At work Brian tried his best to hide his jumpiness from his new colleague and anybody else for that matter. During the lunch break he sat down next to one of his co-workers and started shoving food in his mouth while the man asked him questions about fishing. Brian didn't know a damn thing about fishing but tried his best to give somewhat interesting replies to keep the man's mind too occupied to notice that Brian took his ID card of his belt under the table and attached his own. He needed an alibi for tomorrow and what would be better than being at work when you're not?
When he was finished he slapped the man on the shoulder and got up before the conversation was done. "Great talking to you, O'Reilly." Then he left. He was way too nervous to listen to bait and tackle any longer.
Three hours later he finally was on his way home. The red and yellow lights of a Fast Food joint seemed very invinting. So he grabbed a couple of burgers and continued home. It was already getting dark when he pulled up on the curb. The soft purring of the engine died and Brian sat in the dark. he looked at the house with some lights on and remembered their argument in the morning. Would Jack still be angry? Would Dani be there? Were Letty or Mia around? Brian took a deep breath and then made his way into the house.
He kicked off his shoes, threw the uncomfortable suit jacket over a chair, tugged on his tie to loosen it and went into the living room where the usual crow was gathered. Jack and Buster.
"I have some food. You hungry?"
Buster jumped up immediately and started barking.
"Thought so. Do you never feed the dog, Jack?"

When Jack heard the front door open he made sure he'd keep his composure as best as he could for the time being. It wasn't going to be easy with the map practically burning a hole in him, so to speak, but he wasn't going to jump the gun straight away.
He stood up when Brian entered the living room, the smell of fast food trailing in behind him. Damn, he hadn't counted on that. Maybe he should wait until after dinner. Or at least until during. With his stomach grumbling, food sounded pretty damn good right now and it smelled even better. Clearly Buster felt the same way judging by how he jumped up immediately and started begging for food. It could, ofcourse, also have something to do with the fact that he had forgotten to feed the dog...again. He shrugged. "What am I? Your personal dog groomer?"
He walked past his brother and made his way to the kitchen where the bag with food was waiting. "Let's eat. I'm starving." The map just had to wait a teensy bit longer. After all, confronting someone was a lot more fun on a full stomach.

Later on that night at around 7 o'clock, Dani had gotten out of work early due to it was a died night at the restaurant. Dani swung by her house to change out of her work cloths, leaving the car running while getting dressed. After getting dressed she left Vince a note telling him where she was going to be.
She walked out the front door, back into her car, before driving off she sent Jack a text 'I am on my over, if that's alright with you? Since I did say I was going to come back.' Dani then pulled out of her drive way and headed toward Brian's house. As she was driving she got a text back from Jack and she got a text from Vince. Vince message had said 'Alright, be careful D. Don't do anything that I wouldn't do. I am not going to be home tonight, I cant tell you where I am going so don't ask.' She wondered what Vince was up to and why he couldn't tell her what he was doing. Maybe Brian new what he was up to.
Dani got to Brian's she pulled up onto the side walk. Cutting the engine, she then pulled her keys out of the ignition, stepping out of the car, closing the car door. She walked up toward the house in a black skirt, pink blouse and high heal shoes. When she walked up to door she was about to knock on it but the personal door bell rang first. The person door bell being Buster. Buster jump off the couch and started to bark at the door.

Brian didn't bother about getting plates. He reached into the bag and threw a wrapped up burger at Jack. Then grabbed one for himself. He slumped down on the couch in the living room, put his legs up on the coffee table and took a huge bite out of the burger. "Mph, good. I was starving." He sighed and right away took another big bite. He had a quick look around for other people in the house and fought Buster off his leg by shoving him away. Jack seemed to have forgotten all about this morning's spanking and seemed to be in a really good mood. "Did you have a good day? With Dani?" It seemed quite odd to him that his brother showed an interest in Vince's sister. "I'm surprised Vince hasn't shove his foot up you a** yet." he grinned.
Suddenly Buster jumped away and ran to the door. His loud barking gave away a visitor. Brian immediately tense up because of Angels visits.

Catching the burger, Jack took a seat on the other couch. If he was going to reveal his new found knowledge soon, he'd want to be able to see any reaction Brian might give and on top of that, he'd be out of reach if his brother decided to throw in another punch afterwards. Couldn't be too careful around psycho older brothers these days.
While he swallowed the first bite, Brian popped the usual question 'How was your day?'. Most times he would just answer that question with a shrug and a mumble, but today it was going to be different. With the map constantly nagging on his brain, it was as good of a cue as any other and he just couldn't hold it in any longer. He leaned forward, a devious smirk on his face as he looked at Brian. "Actually... I had a very interesting day." Then the smirk disappeared as he became more serious and stared at Brian intently, ignoring the Vince remark. "So how is Dom doing these days? Is he getting out soon?" If the sudden out of place change of subject didn't raise any suspicions, especially considering the fact that Jack didn't even know Dom aside from what Brian had told him, the tone in his voice should. He made sure of that.
However, before he was able to get a response out of his brother, Buster started barking loudly at the door. Damn that dog. Could the mutt not have picked a different moment to try and get some attention?

When he finally got out of work Brian thought he could unwind a little until his brother popped that question about Dom and the bite almost got stuck in his throat. He stopped chewing. How on earth did Jack know about Dom or better what did he know. Was this just a conicidence? Not likely. The tone of his voice was to teasing. For a moment he just blankely looked at Jack and then kept chewing the bite he almost choked on before. What should he tell him now?
Brian was more than thankful for being interrupted by Buster. While Jack looked towards the door he shot a quick glance at the shelf and saw that some books had been taken out and put in front of it. His gaze wandered back at Jack as he shook his head and pressed his lips together. He should have punched him harder.

"Well? Can't be that hard to answer. He is your friend, right?" With that question, Jack turned his attention away from Buster and the door and back on to Brian. Something he should have done sooner judging by the look on his brother's face. Or better yet, he shouldn't have turned his attention away from Brian at all judging by that look. He looked about ready to tear his head off.
A little uneasy under Brian's glare, Jack cleared his throat. There was no reason to beat around the bush anymore. It was time to just get down to business and get this over with. "So when were you going to tell me about this, huh? When you're behind bars?" He stood up while he pulled the map out of his waistband, threw it on the table in front of Brian and pointed at it. "See. Unlike you, I don't have buddies in the right places owing me favors to get your ass out of prison!" He practically yelled, referring to their little reunion a little while back. "Jesus bro, I thought you were supposed to be the responsible one between us." At this point, Jack was starting to feel like their roles had been reversed somewhere down the line when he wasn't looking. Like he was the older, more responsible brother trying to straighten out the younger, more reckless one. It was a situation he wasn't liking and he was more than willing to go back to the 'old' situation at any time soon.

Brian felt like he had just been slapped left and right. Jack's outburst of emotion was sudden and unexpected. Even more unexpected was the content of his verbal spanking. Since when would Jack yell at him for something stupid or illegal? He gave his brother a confused look and ducked his head a little. "Are you going to return the punch now?" he joked even though he wasn't in the mood for jokes anymore. He snatched the map from Jack's hands. "Excuse me if I repeat myself but why the hell are you so nosy?" Of course the younger one was right. So Brian quickly started feeling even more guilty than when he was planning the whole thing. "I'm supposed to be responsible." He snarled. "That's right...but damn it. I'm not." Uneasy he ran his hands through his hair. "Fuck, bro. My attempt of being responsible just went down the drain!"

Jack's little speech about responsibility had come as unexpected to him as it had to Brian. Normally he had nothing against pulling stupid and illegal stunts, but this wasn't just a stupid stunt anymore. It was downright crazy and it could and would get really ugly if things went south.
With a sigh, he sat back down on the couch, propped his elbows on his knees and leaned his chin on his hands while he contemplated. Maybe it would have been better if he hadn't seen the map, ignorance was a bliss after all, but he'd be damned if he would just sit back and watch now. What kind of a brother would he be if he would do that? If this Dom was this important for Brian to risk everything, Jack had his back. It wasn't like he had that much to loose anyway.. other than his freedom that is.
Finally he broke the silence as he raised his head to look at his brother. "You know, this guy better be worth it." He paused for a moment while he glanced at the map. "So how waterproof is this plan of yours?" The tone of his voice hinted exactly that which Brian had probably been trying to prevent. He was planning on helping and he was not going to take 'no' for an answer.

Brian shook head and burried his face in his hands. Of course he knew that Jack wanted in on the possuÃbly most stupid thing Brian had ever done. For a while he just stared at his own palms and avoided looking at Jack. Then he let himself fall back against the back of the sofa. "It's not waterproof. That's the whole problem. It's a damn risk." His eyes slowly wandered up to look at Jack reveiling frustration, despair and maybe with a lot of phantasy a little bit of hope. For some reason it was slightly comforting to talk to his brother about this. Maybe because Brian thought he'd understand. After all he was crazy enough to do the same thing. "But I have to do it. I owe it to Dom. The FBI promised him that he'd be free but instead they are going to put him in jail and let him rott. Obviously the system's got the brother down here. So I have to help the system out a little." He offered a week smile. "I do...not you."

The plan being a risk wasn't exactly what Jack was waiting to hear. He was hoping more for a 'pretty solid' or a 'manageable', anything that held better odds than 'risky' really. Still, he wasn't going to let that little detail scare him off. If he could survive a trigger happy Angel, he should be able to survive this too, right?
Without saying a word, he leaned forward and unfolded the map on the table. For a moment he simply looked over all the notes and scribbles before he came to a conclusion. "The way I see it, you're one man short. Might as well be me, bro." He figured Brian didn't want him to get in to any more shit, but he already knew too much to simply let it slide and possibly see his brother end up in jail while he sat at home twiddling his thumbs. At least with an extra pair of hands, the odds of succeeding could be slightly better. Then he shrugged, a faint smirk on his face. "Besides, someone's gotta look out for your stupid ass, right?"

Exactly what Brian didn't need on top of all the things that made him nervous was his brother in this. He sat up and leaned forward as well. "No!" Without great anger or any other expression on his face he gave Jack the answer and knew at the very same moment that it was a lost cause. This whole situation was too 'unmanagable', 'unclean', 'illegal'. And that's exactly what he told the younger O'Conner. "That's why you have to stay out of this." He pointed his finger at Jack. "I really appreciate you trying to help me out but you don't even know the guy." He stood up taking a deep breath and then proceeded to pace up and down in front of the couch. He stopped in front of Jack who still studied the map and snatched it away from him. "Hell, no. And what do you think mom and dad would do if they knew I made you end up in jail? No way, bro!"

A little surprised by the sudden disappearance of the map, Jack looked up, a frown forming on his face. Why on earth did his brother have to pull their parents in to this? "So it's ok for you to end up in jail? You think that'll make mom and dad happy?" He shook his head as he leaned back in to the couch again. Clearly Brian wasn't going to budge and on top of that, he was right. He didn't know Dom. "Alright. Have it your way. Go in there one man short and get your ass busted." He stood up and poked Brian in his chest with each word that came out of his mouth. "Just as long as you know, I won't be visiting you in prison." With one last poke that held a little more force he added. "Just remember not to drop the soap in the showers, princess." With a wink, he patted his brother's cheek before he reached for the probably cold burger. It would most likely taste like shit by now.

Did Jack really give up? Not likely. Brian knew him too well for that. He'd just sneak his way into it somehow and probably screw it all up. Plus Jack had a point. Brian just couldn't end up in jail. Everybody knows what would happen to a guy like him in there. He sighed. "You're not going to let this go, are you?" His jaw worked while he was thinking. "What if I don't let you in on this? Are you going to let somebody know?"

His hand was only inches removed from the burger when it stopped dead in it's tracks. Jack couldn't believe what Brian had just said. He might not be the most straight up guy around, but he would never do anything that low. He would never sell his brother out, no matter what.
With no emotion on his face, he straightened his back and looked at Brian. "Yeah, that's exactly what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna rat you out." He didn't even know how he managed to say that in such a calm matter, but the next words weren't very calm as a scowl presented itself. "How can you even say that?! Huh?! You're my fucking brother for crying out loud!" His hands turned in to fists, itching to return the punch of that morning, but he held himself back. He wasn't going to stoop to Brian's level right now. Instead, he gave his brother a hard shove and pointed a finger at him. "You're insane. I hope they catch you."

Brian frowned. As soon as the words had left his mouth he regretted it. Why did he even say that. His brothers hand against his shoulder was a lot less than he deserved for this comment. The words were harsher though and almost caused his eyes to water up. Almost. With choked up voice he muttered. "I'm really sorry. I have no idea why I just said that." He straightened up and cleared his throat. "I honestly didn't mean that. I'm such an idiot. You say you have my back and I...I know you do, bro. Sorry." Suddenly he felt very low and small. He had to offer Jack some kind of a peace pipe. So after a moment he said. "I'm really freaked out about this. Maybe I could really use your help. As long as you don't get right in the middle of things so you can get away in time if things go wrong."

With a sigh, Jack shook his head and turned his gaze to the ground. This was just like old times. Brian and his friends would have some crazy stunt lined up and as soon as Jack found out about it, he'd want in and would always find some way to blackmail his brother. He just wanted to be like the older cool kids. However, usually he would end up screwing something up, causing Brian and the others to take the fall. He wouldn't let that happen now though.
With his eyes still on the ground he finally mumbled. "Look, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to intrude on your plan like this." Then he looked up as he continued. "But I just don't think you can pull it off with what? Just the three of you?" He wasn't sure if Mia was included on the plans or what her role would be so he didn't count her in yet. Then he added a little reluctant. "I promise I won't get in your way and I'll do exactly as you tell me to." It were the exact same words he'd always say as a kid when he finally was about to get his way. Some things never change.

Brian's eyes were now fixed on his brothers. He knew these words all too well. Had Jack finally grown up and meant it?
The older brother chewed his lip. "Do you really mean that?" In his mind he added 'like in the warehouse when you ended up with a broken hand'.
Now it was his time to threaten and point his finger. "Jack this is serious. One mistake and we're all either dead or in jail. There's not room for mistakes."
He chewed on his lip again blue eyes still fixed on his brothers serious features. "I'm not going to ask you to join and I'm not going to keep you from helping. How's that?"
Then he motioned for Jack's cast. "I'm not sure what you could do anyway."

With disappointment washing over his face, Jack looked down at his casted hand. Brian had him there. He hadn't exactly thought about that damn thing posing quite a problem. It prohibited him from driving and probably most other things that needed to be done. "Shit." He let himself sink back in to his seat on the couch. It looked like he was going to stay behind twiddling his thumbs after all. If only he had listened to his brother just this once in his life and had stayed outside at that warehouse. He hadn't been that much use anyway other than.. getting his ass kicked.
Another "Shit"' rolled out of his mouth while he sat there, thinking. He wasn't exactly a doctor, but there had to be a way around it. It had been what? A couple of weeks now maybe? He was never all that good at keeping track of time. "You think it's to early to get this shit off my hand and have it wrapped up real tight or something?" He wasn't sure whether that was gonna fly or not, but it was worth the suggestion.
