28. Racer. WHAT'S THE POINT OF BEING AN OUTLAW, WHEN YOU'VE GOT RESPONSIBILITIES? Character full name: Jack Daniel O'Conner Age: 28 Gender: Male Sexuality: Straight APPEARANCE: Jack is the younger brother of the late Brian O'Conner. Because they share the same gene-spool, the siblings have as many differences as they have noticeable similarities, like their striking blue eyes for example. At 6' 2½", Jack is slightly taller than his brother though, and while his brother's hair tended to curl when it got longer, Jack's hair remains more straight and is inclined to stick up at all angles, though it's usually tamed with a bit of gel. His stubble, sandy colored like his hair, remains kept, giving him a devil-may-care look. As for his clothes, they are usually clean and well-worn, mostly consisting a pair of ripped jeans, a simple t-shirt and boots or sneaker, and as a smoker, he's often seen with a lit cigarette hanging from his lips. PERSONALITY: Jack's personality has many layers and while most people only see the veneered act that he displays on the surface, the reality goes much deeper. First and foremost he is an action man, very impulsive and passionate about living his life to the fullest. He also tends to have a rather big mouth on him; he has no problem telling you like it is to your face and won't respect your feelings. When it comes to certain situations, he trusts his instincts to lead him in the right direction where as his brother preferred to think things through before acting. If anything, he'll rush headlong into a situation on anger and testosterone, and can be hostile and ruthless at times, yet tender and caring when dealing with people he cares about. Despite his sometimes volatile persona, though, when he holds respect for someone he deems worthy of it or cares about someone in any way, he becomes extremely loyal and would do anything for them, even taking a bullet. Well, maybe he wouldn't go that far (depending on who you are), but it is the thought that counts, right? He has a sense of humor once you get to know him, though to him "fun" could mean a lot of different things, however, and his sense of fun might count as a means of psychosis since he likes to put his ass on the line in situations where the odds are more than against him and laughs about it later. Then again, a good joke and some goofing off can do the trick too. It all depends on his mood. HISTORY: Jack Daniel O'Conner (two thumbs up for a booze loving father) was born as the second son into a lower middle-class family with Irish roots in Barstow, California. His father, Jacob, was an abusive alcoholic who rarely acknowledged his children and left his wife for another woman long before Jack was old enough to be able to remember what he looked like. A single mother, Marie worked in various dead-end jobs, doing her best to keep herself and her two boys afloat. Growing up, nobody actually expected anything much from Jack. With Brian being a standout athlete and a decent student, his older brother overshadowed him most of the time, setting the bar far too high for his younger sibling. So while Jack was part of the small family, he wasn't given much responsibility. And when you're a teenager, that's extremely awesome. The problem was, though, as Jack grew older, he realized what no responsibility meant. Nobody trusted him with anything important, and in his mind, they probably already expected him to flunk high school before he'd even attended it - especially after Brian managed to work himself through a state-certified police academy. By the time Jack hit junior high, he put his focus into making the football team to follow in Brian's footsteps, the same Brian who had left their hometown to make a name for himself in Los Angeles, California. Jack made the varsity team as a Wide Receiver known for his incredible hands, but he lost his spot due to academic ineligibility. His grades dropped even further when he began mixing in with the wrong crowd, which lead to drug abuse, boosting neighborhood cars and other problems. Becoming more and more estranged from his family due to his continued drug use and its attendant lifestyle, Jack eventually dropped out of High School altogether after being forced to leave his parental residence when another arrest became the final straw that broke the camels back, so to speak, to his mother. He moved in with a friend of his instead, whom he stayed with until he came back one night to find his friend dead, having overdosed on heroin. Deciding that he was done with his hometown, Jack left Barstow in the rear-view mirror, determined to seek out a new life for himself with what little he had. His journey eventually lead him to Los Angeles, where he soon crossed paths with his older brother Brian again, who in turn introduced him to the city's underground racing scene. After attending the racing scene a few times as a bystander with no ride of his own, Jack eventually talked his brother into loaning him the keys to the Nissan Skyline one night so he could enter the race that ultimately won him the Mitsubishi Evolution he currently still owns. Fast forward, it became clear Jack's wild streak still hadn't lost any steam what so ever. Being an employee to one of then biggest mob bosses in LA, he was at the Midnight Queen for a meeting when he met and instantly fell for Piper Blair, a beautiful and hot-tempered exotic dancer. It was one of those whirlwind romances -- your eyes meet and you want to fuck, but you have to break a couple of biker's faces first before you can get what you want. All whirlwind romances go something like that, right? Actually, it was a bit more complex than that,(not really), but it worked and continued to work, even after their lifes turned into the chaotic rollercoaster ride it is now. With Jack getting shot and almost dying, an USB drive with access to an amount of money that would make even Bill Gates jealous being dropped into Piper's jacket pocket, and becoming number one on the mob's shit-list, calling their lives 'crazy' turned into more than just an understatement. Yet in the end, it wasn't Jack, Cole or Piper who had to pay the highest price for getting in bed with the mob, but it was Brian, who was found brutally murdered and left dead in a gutter somewhere as a message and a warning to the Toretto crew. Even now, a little over six months later, after having exacted revenge on his brother's killers and jumping ship to settle in Monte Carlo, Monaco with the Toretto crew, Jack continues to blame himself for Brian's death. But, life goes on, right? ...Ride or die... EXTRA INFORMATION: Bitches be crazy, yo! JACK. CEST. GARRETT HEDLUND |
