To say Letty was nervous about the coming meeting would have been putting it mildly. Even though she'd already come clean with Dom and they were good, the woman had no real clue how the rest of the family would take her appearance. No matter what Dom said, there was every chance that they would resent the trouble she stood to bring them and she couldn't even blame them.
However, it also wasn't as if she had much of a choice though either. As much as she wished this crap wasn't tailing her, it was and no amount of pretending would make it otherwise. By coming to L.A. and to Dom, she'd already set things into motion and she needed their help.
Blowing out a breath, Letty Ortiz sat on Dom's bed even as she heard the sounds of others arriving outside the bedroom door. Having agreed with Dom that it would be best to allow him to speak with the others first, she waited with nervous anticipation that she only just managed to keep from sending her up the walls.
Was it to late to take off? Of course it was.
Not to mention, her car was miles from here, hidden in an old warehouse. She had no wheels even if she could get out the door without Dom catching her. Not to mention, the others seeing her. No, it was much to late and now she had to pay the piper.
Happy Happy Joy Joy, right?

So this was it. Dom was never one for "surprise" parties or anything like that, he'd sooner just get to the point at hand. This though, this was something people were going to have to see to believe. Not to mention that Dom wasn't really sure how he'd casually say 'oh by the way, Letty's here.' This way everyone would know how and why she was still breathing, along with the road ahead of them.
Mia was on her way back from shopping, and Dom made the call to Brian along with Taya to be there for dinner. Momentarily, they would start showing up. Dom wasn't nervous, but he wasn't in his typical calm state either.
He sat at the table near the front door, waiting for the first knock and debating a few choice words. What a shock this would be...

Taya pulled up outside the Toretto house in her viper and parked beside Dom's Charger. She sighed and grabbed her stuff before she climbed out and headed towards the house. She just got done ordering the security cameras and new locks for the shop when he called and told her to come over. She didn't normally come over because she was working or trying to figure shit out for herself at this point. But Dom had good intentions and wanted her to get out more, so she took the offer. She walked up and knocked on the door, cigarette in hand and her stomach already showing signs of the life she had to take care of for now...at least.

"Dinner at the Fort." Brian reas the message on the screen of his phone. Rubbing his head he wondered what was going on because he hadn't gotten a dinner invitation to that place in ages. Dom and him were good now and things with Mia were also shaping up. Maybe that was the reason for this unexpected invitation. "Sure." Brian muttered and crawled out of bed. He had finally gotten the much needed sleep. For a moment he contemplated simply slipping his clothes on but then opted for a quick shower to clean up. Soon he was on his way to the house he'd visited so many times before. On the curb he spotted a few sets of wheels he didn't immediately recognise. Seemed like he wasn't the only one invited. "Viper." he smirked. Slowly he hobbled up the stairs because the stunt on Dom's car had taken its toll on the old bones and when he tried to knock Brian found the front door slightly open. Lately he'd been very on edge and open doors could be a nice gesture or mean big trouble, especially when you're dealing with the mob. Slowly Brian tiptoed inside only to find Dom and Taya there. Then another person caught his attention, who currently had her back towards him but looked just like Letty. Not trusting his own eyes Brian cleared his throat. "What's going on here?"

Mia placed the three huge shopping bags in the backseat of her car and got in, tired and ready to go home. Never in a million years she thought she was going to have a quiet day and what better way than to go shopping? She kept driving in no hurry, taking longer to arrive home when it normally took her fifteen minutes. Mia parked the car taking out the bags and stopped noticing another car in the driveway. “I wonder what Taya´s doing here” she muttered and open the door, the first person she looked at was Dom and frown knowing something was up, next to him was Taya. “Hi Taya,” she greeted the young girl. Placing the bags aside she looked at Dom. “What´s going on? What did you do?” offering a quick smile to Brian, crossing her arms. She could read him very well, he looked nervous and for him to be nervous meant something happen.

Dom made small talk with Taya as she was the first to arrive, not giving any hints that her sister was here. He could only imagine the emotions between the two of them, especially Taya. For years she assumed Letty dead....well, they all did.
Brian and Mia arrived almost simultaneously. Brian didn't really look a whole lot better than a few nights ago, though his conditioned paled in significance to tonight. Dom could feel a combination of emotion and nerves, something he hardly ever experienced quite in that magnitude. He took a second to gather his thoughts while everyone was in front of him before he finally spoke. "Glad you guys could be here." He started off. "There's something you need to know." He said in a low voice before he turned his head over towards the bedroom and called out. "Come join us, Letty."

Taya didn't like how Dom was being a little distant. Usually he was concerned and wanting her to move in until she got her stuff settled. Now...he was distant and didn't really let her beyond the living room. She looked up seeing Brian and Mia and nodded to them. "Hey guys." She said softly before looking at Dom.
When he went back and said Letty could come out, she froze. her heart jumped into her throat and looked up at him like he was crazy. All this time she thought her sister was gone, just when she started to get to know her. Now he was telling her she was alive? He was being down right cruel to her now. She shook her head and refused to look up at him and closed her eyes tight as tears fell. If he thought this was a sick joke it wasn't funny.

The sound of voices kept Letty on edge, most familiar enough to bring a pang of homesick to her chest. Brian, Mia, even Taya. Jesse, Leon and a few others were missing but then, as Dom had said, things had changed. Three years was a long time and it wasn't like they'd been really stable to begin with. It stood to reason that not everything would be the same.
Leaning against the door, the latino listened to the greetings and waited for Dom's cue. When it came, she took a deep breath and opened the door. Moving out of the bedroom and down the hall to the mainroom, the first hiss of an inhaled breath told her that her presence had been noted.
Moving to stand next to Dom, she lifted her chin even as her dark eyes met those gathered. Forcing a snarky note to her tone, Letty arched a brow even as she leaned into his side for reassurance. "Hey. You guys look like you've seen a ghost or something.. Don't worry.. I'm not a zombie returned from the dead to eat brains or anything..."

Brian gave Mia a quick smile when she entered just behind him and stepped a little closer. Usually he would have hugged her but they hadn't quite reached that level of friendship yet, so he simply squeezed her arm and stated. "You look like you had a good time on the town."
Taya was also there so Brian gave her a quick hug and asked how she was doing.
Nothing could have been more unexpected than Letty showing up out of the blue. Brian had been prepared for mobsters at the Fort, the police, maybe even some nice surprise but not Letty, who he along with everybody else, had believed to be dead. For years Brian had blamed himself for letting her become an informant because she had paid the ultimate price for it. He had broken off the relationship with Mia over it and left the whole team behind just because he couldn't face them anymore.
And there she was, alive and well. Brian couldn't help the disbeleive plastered all over his face. "If you're not her twin sister, then where have you been all this time?" He came staright to the point but then reconsidered as his mood changed to thankfulness that she was alive. Brian had become pretty soft lately as the tears springing to his eyes proofed. With three quick steps he closed the distance to pull her into a tight hug. He felt her smaller frame against his. It was Letty, no doubt, she was alive. Choked up he confessed. "I thought you were dead. I thought I'm responsible for your death." A wave of relief washed over him now that he knew he hadn't sent his friend to her death.

Was Dom joking? Did she even heard right? Did he just say “Letty”? If this was some sick game it wasn’t fun at all, but the moment the woman came to join them… her knees gave out as the air in her lungs went out, the pain she felt in her stomach as if someone had kicked her really hard still unable to react for a second, her face was pale, she was near to a sofa and she abruptly sat down gripping the edges of her seat tightly, knuckles turning white, heartbeat so damn fast. No, no, she had to be dreaming, or maybe it was the heat of California that started to make her see things…?
She wasn´t dreaming, Letty wasn´t a ghost at all, because a ghost couldn´t be touch at all or talk… she was back, all the tears that night when she had to make that phone call to her brother and then the funeral, how with a heavy heart she had to contact the little family Letty knew to tell them the bad news, what broke her even more was to see Dom back and how she could read the pain of losing the love of his life was taking its toll on him, and now to have her here, in her house…
“But…” her voice cracked for a second, her eyes look up at Brian who was giving a hug to Letty then to Dom, her eyes filled with tears, trying to still understand how the hell she was alive. “Who did we bury then? Why did you wait all this long to come back? Your family until this day is devastated!” from shock, to sadness and now anger… a roller coaster of emotions. Her hands wouldn´t stop shaking, one thing was for sure, despite all of her emotions, she was glad she was home with the team. Alive.

Dom only half-heartedly observed the groups reactions. His own shock of Letty's existence came back to him. Even now it felt like a fairytale, and to some degree, it was. He saw everything from shock, joy, and even anger within the group. All predictable, all had to be addressed.
His arm tucked around her frame as she leaned into him. "Her memory was wiped out, only recently got it back." He explained. "She worked for Braga." His eyes went to Brian quickly as that sank in. He knew the ex-cop would take that a little harder than necessary. The very organization she was sent to infiltrate, she became part of. Despite the anger he had towards him the first few days after, Dom was just as responsible for her as Brian was, and in his eyes, even more so.

Dom's word made Brian wonder whether he was just having a very vivid dream. "What?" He raised his brows. "She worked for who?" Braga, the last person on earth he would want anybody to work for...aside from Dieseli maybe. "Wasn't it Braga who wanted her dead?" For a moment he went back a couple of years when Dom and he had taken a trip south of the border to bring Braga back. Successfully but in the process Phoenix tried to kill Brian and wound up crushed beneath a car himself. "Correct me if I'm wrong. My memory of that day is a little clouded but I thought Braga was sent to jail."

Dom's touch was reassuring in the face of so many mixed reactions. Brians hug made her blow out a breath but Mia's was as expected. What could she tell them? Really, she had no answers for all the questions they were asking herself. As words began to fly, she let everyone get used to her presence before she spoke up again.
"Hey...." she started out, only to have to raise her voice louder. "HEY! Look, I know this is a surprise to you guys but give me a chance to explain, all right? Dom's right... My last memory of that night was heading off on that run. Next thing I remember is waking up in Columbia as some chick named Katarina. I had no clue about the past and was told I was in an accident.."
Glancing at Brian, the Latin beauty met his brilliant blue gaze with her own dark one before continuing. "Braga might be in jail but hes just one head on the hydra beast. Hes got his fingers everywhere. The man i drove for was named Montoya but hes just a front man. I don't know who he answers too behind the clubhouse door. He kept us all on a need to know basis and obviously.. I didn't need to know much. I think they were just waiting on me to regain my memory and find out what the feds all had... I don't know though ..."
Reaching up, Letty ran a hand through her hair before drawing in a long breath and closing her eyes. For a moment, she tried to think back over everything she might know but it was still all so scattered. When she opened her dark orbs once more, she looked to Mia and shrugged helplessly. "I don't know, Mia.. I don't know who you buried or why the feds said what they said... I suspect there might have been someone on the inside leaking information or maybe they just preferred to call me dead since anything else would raise to many questions.. I don't know.. I wish I did." she answered as honestly as she could. "As for why I didn't return? I did as soon as I regained some sense of memory... Piled up a car and then had to play it cool till I could escape... Here I am now..."

Taya refused to look up at either of them. She had JUST started to accept that she was the only one left and didn't even get to know her own sister long enough before she 'died'. Now they were acting as if all this shit was just some dream and she could go back to normal. She was gonna have a kid, Cole was in deep enough as it was and now they wanted to do this?
She closed her eyes again trying to breathe easy as her stomach started to disagree with her. Hoping it was just the sudden onset of stress, but she doubted it."Dom..." she said softly before she really started to feel horrible and jumped up at took off to the bathroom and got sick. Great, now Letty probably thought it was her fault...

Dom simply allowed Letty to explain from her perspective, as her perspective would obviously be the most clear. He would've bet that they might have been putting the pieces together now, and realize that Letty was far from being in the clear. That he believed was the largest unspoken tension in the room. Letty sure as hell was nervous about it, and he was to if he was honest. It was drama after drama for the group even before she appeared, and now this.
"Letty will have people after her from the cartel. We have to be ready for that." He decided to just be upfront, and not sugarcoat anything. "We've always been a family, this is when we have to be our strongest."

Brian still barely trusted his eyes unable to digest that Letty was alive. The story she was giving them was also kind of hard to believe. "You lost your memory for a while?" He raised his brow in question trying to wrap his mind around the fact. He wasn't sure whether he should really believe it or not. Then again why would she leave her family and love of her life if she had a different choice. That Braga would still be pulling some strings from prison wasn't hard to imagine. "Montoya, I've read his name somewhere in a file, I think." For once Brian wished he was still a Fed. Information was easier to access back then.
Dom obviously had no doubts about anything in Lettys story. Brian however started to wonder whether Letty might have been sent back by the very same man, who held her captive. Maybe she was here to enable Braga to have revenge on them all. He didn't let one word about his thoughts slip though. After all this was Letty, Dom's long girl friend. If Brian voiced any of this he'd surely end up with a few broken bones.
Instead he listened to Dom's concerns, which seemed more plausible. "You're right. Do you still have a few weapons in the house? Letty, do you know whether anybody's been trailing you?"

With the information overload and her sudden appearance, Letty had known that there would be a mix of emotions regarding her being alive. She'd expected it, in fact. What she didn't expect, however, was for Taya to become physically ill with the knowledge. As her sister rushed to the bathroom, Letty had to steal herself against the pain she felt and she couldn't help the stiffening of her shoulders even more as she looked at the others.
God, maybe this had been a worse idea than she'd thought.
Hearing Dom speak up, Letty moved to the window to look out, careful to keep herself out of sight. The low hum of men's voices flowed around her and she closed her eyes to ease the headache that was taking up residence in her skull. Thoughts and plans flew through her mind but were discarded just as fast before Brians voice broke through her mental ramblings. Twisting to look at him over her shoulder, she met his gaze levelly even as she scowled.
"To be honest, Brian, I'd be surprised if they weren't. However, Dom and i hid my car so I think we are safe here, for the moment. I don't know if they have a clue about our connection seeing as I didn't tell them anything. As far as I know, they still see me as a fed and they don't know about our ties .... Only a fool would take that for granted though."

Taya sighed as she gathered her thoughts together and her stomach settled after she got sick. She looked down at her stomach and put a hand over it as she went to the kitchen and got a drink to keep her little one at bay for now and went back in and curled up on the couch. She was almost five months pregnant, if Letty couldn't see it now since she was curled up then she might be able to hide it for a while longer than she thought. She couldn't help with this and knew her sister would go through the roof when she found out, or she could be more than happy with the fact she wants to keep it instead of let it go like Cole wanted.

So, now they had to watch their backs from a cartel. It looked like they would never have peace in their lives. She stayed in the sofa and placed her head in her hands and tried to process all this new information. They kept talking, still just having her there, alive, it was too much to handle. Letty´s story made sense just as Dom words, they had to be ready for them to come looking for Letty.
She turned to Taya as she exited the bathroom and joined the group again in the living room, Mia waited for her to settle on the sofa and noticed how her clothes were a little loose but Mia had been in the medical field long enough to know the symptoms Taya was going through, the throwing up part could´ve been some flu bug, but the sparkle in her eyes revealed it wasn´t the flu. “How far along are you?”

Taya looked over at her and smiled at Mia. "Five months." She said softly so Letty wouldn't hear. She didn't know Mia very well, but from the times they had talked before she seemed really caring towards her and this made Taya feel relaxed, which was what she needed now. She looked up at her and sighed. "Sorry I haven't been around to talk to you...there's been alot going on."
