“Wait…what…?” all of a sudden her heart rate went all the way up. Was her hearing a 100% right? Did he just say what she thought he said? She froze in her seat unable to stand up, her throat felt dry all of a sudden; it felt as if someone just gave her some pretty shocking news.
She slowly got up wanting, needing to feel some fresh air, but her feet wouldn´t move, it was like her whole body shut down and she couldn’t walk away from that room or talk. What the hell was going on? Old feelings started to come back and for him to say those words ´I wish you hadn´t´ confirm to her that no matter who they ended up with at the end they couldn’t deny how strongly they felt for each other.
She felt the urge to kiss him and couldn’t deny her own feelings towards him, he loved him so much.

Mia's reaction to his words was definetly noticable. Not only did she ask him but her face looked stunned and flush. Did his words provoke some sort of emotion that they shouldn't have? If anything he was at least distracted from his real worries now. "I don't know...I shouldn't have said that." he started backtracking. "Things were good between us. I never met anybody like you again. But I screwed it up and I can't blame you for telling to leave. It was your damn right after I used Letty as an informant and Dom went to jail." To this day Brian was still wondering what had happened in their lives if he hadn't brought Letty on board the FBI.

She had to admit when he changed his words, she felt a pain in her heart. Maybe she was hearing thing she wished he would say? Besides, he knew he was going to get back with Mira no matter how many times he told her about them going their separate ways. She cleared her throat hoping and trying not to sound as if his words affected her somehow. Yeah, they were,” their relationship was beyond amazing, but why talk about it now if nothing was going to change? Mia forced a smile standing up to fill out a glass with water. “Letty made that choice and Dom, well Dom is out of jail-“ Not wanting to respond to his comment about him not finding another person like her.

For a moment Brian became quiet and watched her face.there had been a flicker,a light in her eyes that he remembered all so well. the world wasn't big enough for Mia ten years ago when they met. Somehow she had lost some of that sparkle but when he just mentioned their relationship it was there again.
"They were." He heard her say. Were there still feelings he didn't know about? Not too long ago she hated his gutts and wanted nothing to do with him. "Do you regret it?" He knitted his brow looking her directly in the hazel eys.

She set the glass on the sink and frown looking at the small amount of water inside the glass as she heard his question. Mia was a bad liar and he would know right away if her words were the truth or not. She turned to see him and sighed answering his question. “Do I regret Ietting you go? Yes, I do.” There it was! She loved the man in front of her.
Part of her anger and why she decided to get the hell out of Tokyo was because of him, because she knew what she did to him was wrong, and her cold attitude towards him was because she was determined to forget about him, she was willing to sacrifice herself and their “friendship” for him to be happy with Mira and his children, to not cause him more trouble.
But he always came back to her brother and it was hard not to bump into each other, but at the end the love grew more even though he wasn’t in her life anymore, they could never be friends, simply because they were never destined to be friends but two people that love each other…

When she turned around and looked at him Brian knew it would be a moment of truth. The moment she took before she answered him made him hold his breath but even before she said the words Brian knew what she would say. To hear those words was soothing and electrifying at the same time. It gave him a jolt through his body that he hadn't felt in a while. How could she come out with something like this when he was at his lowest. Speechless his jaw dropped a little before he ran a hand over his face to hide a smile that suddenly appeared there. An instant later he had himself under control again and took a deep breath not knowing what to do with this bit of information. He wanted to scream at her why she couldn't think about this a year or two ago. "Wow, ...em." Was all he got out. "You do? As in you still have feelings?"

It was a bad timing for her to tell him all of this, but she couldn’t lie to him. She washed the glass, a way to distract and keep the distance between them but seconds later she took a seat in front of him. He sounded so shocked by her answer.
She played with her hands, taking a deep breath and looking up to meet his blue eyes. “Yes, I do” she repeated her answer. The truth was out along with their feelings but neither of them knew what to do.
“I know you better than that and I can tell you have more things to get off your chest, Brian. Now is the time…”

Her words were one thing that shocked Brian but her openess about it was another. Itw asn't really like Mia to admit something like this. She usually kept her inside under wraps more. Truth be told Brian wanted to tell her the same because that's what he felt, yet he didn't allow himself to go down that road. Silently he watched her sit down while his mind was working over time to figure out what was just happening in Cole's kitchen. It was hard to hold the look she was giving him, especially when she threw that next question at him. Snarling he leaned back a crossed his arms over his chest. If he got started he wouldn't stop. "You know it all, Mia. You've been around me." That wasn't what she wanted to hear though. A mix of emotions was starting to heat up inside of him and slowly came towards the surface making his throat choke up. "I have two babies..." He held up two fingers. "But not with the woman I love." Averting his gaze he struggled to fight down those aweful mixed emotions.

Of course she knew it all; she just wanted to hear it from him. He was fighting lots of emotions inside of him; patiently she waited for him to say what he had to say. It was hard for him and it showed when he spoke the next words. When he mention his babies and held up two of his fingers, he was shaking, and she felt horrible to speak what her heart was shouting at her. She tore his gaze from him as her own eyes filled with tears. Maybe it was a mistake for her to say those things. "But not with the woman I love." She immediately looked directly at him as her vision was starting to get blurry from the tears she was holding. Mia couldn´t speak, it was hard on both of them, and it wasn’t an easy situation either. She felt her chest tighten. She wanted to hug him and tell him everything was going to be alright, that they´d figure it out, but she couldn’t, it didn’t look like he´ll let her, not when he was feeling just like her with lots of questions and yet they couldn’t express how they felt, not with words but with actions. What was going to happen between them?

for a while Brian averted his gaze so he didn't have to gaze at her and see the look she was giving him. Brian was willing to deal with it now that they were finally opening up but it took him a lot of will power, especially because he felt broken in half after what Mira had told him.
Once he had struggled back the tears he cleared his throat looking at his hands and then took a deep breath. "I wish you would have told me two years ago, when things were still easy." What did Mia expect him to do. Run away from Mira and the kids? If it would even qualify as running away now that she had told him she was better off without him.
Finally meeting her gaze he smiled but it didn't reach his eyes. "I'm sure if I had kids with you, you wouldn't tell me to get lost." Or maybe she would. After all she'd done it before.

She wiped away the tears at the corner of her eyes and took a deep breath, hoping her voice wouldn’t crack. “I wish I would´ve done that too, I have no excuse, but the situation back then… It was a lot to handle, I lost control…” It was true, everything fell apart.
“I made the biggest mistake of my life, and that was letting you go. Those words I told you back when we were in Tokyo are true: I still love you. And I am sorry the situation isn’t the best between you and Mira, but I just can’t lie to myself anymore…”
Their gazes lingered on one another for a moment; she smiled sadly when she heard him about what could have happen if they had children. “I would´ve never tell you to get lost…” if things hadn’t change, if SHE hadn’t made the decisions she did back then, by now she would´ve been married to him, probably with one or two children… but it wasn’t the case.

It was obvious that the subject was touching Mia because she wasn't a girl, who cried easily. To hear that she thought letting him go was the biggets mistake of her life gave him a sting in his heart. How could she feel this way and never tell him before? Why now of all times? And then she said the most important words. "I still love you." How much had Brian longed to hear those words when instead she had told him that she couldn't handle it all and wanted some distance. All these years Brian had burried the love he once felt for her somewhere deep down and told himself that when the right woman came he'd be alright. But now that Mia said the three magic words he was gone because it brought his own love right back to the surface.
The look in her eyes, that sad little smile made was the last drop he needed. He knew he still loved Mia, which might be one reason why him and Mira never really worked out. Why try and hold on to Mira when she was pushing him away?
Still Brian couldn't allow himself to fall. Not yet, not when there was still a chance to make thinsg right between them. Reaching across the table he took her hand in his and started caressing it gently. "I do, too. I still love you." Was this right? Was it okay to tell her the truth and touch her? "Tell me what to do, Mia? What do I do? Keep trying to be with Mira, when I never really loved her? I think she knows but I still don't want to do that to her." For a moment he bend down to lean his cheek on her soft skin.

It was tearing her apart hearing his words, a happy feeling but a sour one too. She never hide her feelings for him since the first day she saw him after she tried to removed him from her life. He was fighting inside, his heart screaming one thing while his head was telling her a completely different one.
He loved her too, that was a good thing, right? But he somehow was hesitating, but why? This was a bad timing but deep down she knew the love he had for Mira was completely different from the one he had for her.
It was too much; she placed her forehead on the table unable to hold the tears she fought so hard to hold back as she ran her hand through her hair in frustration. She looked up after a moment of trying to find her voice in all the emotions she was fighting too “That is something you only have the answer to. If I was other kind of girl, I would tell you to forget about her but she´s the mother of your children, Brian. But does that mean you have to wake up every morning next to her and pretend you love her when you really don’t? What kind of life would that be,not only for you two but for your children?”

It was really hard to watch Mia because she got so emotional. Brian longed so much to take her in his arms and hold her tight but could he allow himself to do it? Would he be playing with her feelings? It looked like Mira had already made her decision. Right now Brian wasn't willing to accept it though. Of course mia was right about him having to make a decision, too. Would he choose to wake up next to Mira when he really wanted to be with the woman in front of him? Was that right? Coudl he even do it? Should Brian stay with her for the babies? or would they be better off otherwise? "I was hoping that the babies birth would bring us closer together but with what just happened it had the opposite effect. She blames me for it. Because Jack is my brother." He watched her place her head on the table to hide the tears that were glistening in her eyes. Gently he ran his hand over her head. "I don't want to mess with your feelings, Mia. You're the last person I want to hurt." He simply couldn't watch her cry because of him so he got up and did the only thing that felt right to him. Taking her hand he pulled her up and then closed his arms around her to hold her tight nuzzling his face into her long, dark hair. Holding her so close gave him a tiny bit of stability, a hint of hope, something to tie him over to better days.

He was hurting her; it hurt not to know what he was going to do. It scared her to see him go back to Mira once she confessed how she felt about him; will it be the same as in Tokyo? Will he go back to Mira? She didn’t want to push him any further, those babies would always had a father, he knew her and she will never deny to see them if he was with her.
He took her hand and pulled her to him making her stand up from the chair to hug her. The tears didn’t slow down, even the warmth against his body couldn’t remove this sadness, and she gripped his shirt as the tears soaked his shirt. Why did it feel like she was losing him?
“That is ridiculous. Just because Jack is your brother doesn’t mean you are like him or follow his footsteps,” Mia said softly to him and after that didn’t say anything else just stay there in his arms

To hold Mia tight felt like the only thing that made sense right now. His insides were torn up by what Mira was doing to him and the woman in his arms made it all seem just a little less heartbreaking. She gave him strength by simply being who she was. His arms were wrapped so tightly around her and Brian wasn't about to give up that feeling of holding her close. Brian didn't want to talk about Mira and what in the world she was thinking any more. "I don't know. Right now I just feel like she ripped my heart out. The only thing I know is that I'm not going to let her do that to me again." Whatever would become of them was still unclear even though both of them knew who they'd choose. "It doesn't make sense, does it?" Feeling her body slightly tremble and his shoulder get wet from her tears Brian had a real hard time keeping it together. Getting choked up he whispered in her ear. "Don't cry, please."

She removed her head from his shoulder, feeling chills running down her spine as his hot breath caress her ear begging her not to cry anymore, it amazed her how her body reacted to his touch, even his voice. Her hands still gripped his shirt, afraid to let him go, afraid it was all a dream, her eyes were still red but no more tears were threatening to fall. “Sorry,” she apologized as her fingertips touch the wet spot where her tears were absorbed by the material of his white shirt.
Mia looked down for a second, keeping her emotions under control as she delivered her next words. She cleared her throat and look up at him, their faces inches apart. “No matter what you decide to do, just know that I will always be there by your side and that-" she hesitated for a moment not really sure if she should say what she was about to say, but at the end she did, there was nothing to hide. " I love you” placing a tender kiss on his cheek, slowly easing her grip on his shirt.

Slowly her sobs subsided and she moved away from him only a bit but enough for him to see her face even though she wasn't looking up. There was so much strength in that little woman, much more than in any guy he'd seen. Her strength came from the inside and made her truly beautiful and admirable. She struggled but in the end won against her emotions as she let a few very important words fall from her lips. 'She'd support him not matter what he decided...or how hard it would be for her and that she loved him.' Then Mia sealed it with a kiss on the cheek. For a moment Brian closed his eyes to cherish that feeling, which he hadn't felt in such a long time. The touch of her lips provoked long lost feelings. Reaching behind her neck to hold her there Brian turned his face slightly to mimic her action. he didn't dare to kiss her on the lips though. "I love you, too." The words were barely audible...not for anyone but Mia anyway. "Thank you for being there for me. I really appreciate it because I know you mean it."

“You don´t have to…. I understand,” he wanted to kiss her but it´s not like he didn’t want to, he wanted to but…for some reason he couldn’t and she understood.
She slowly removed his hand from behind her neck. Even though his words were barely audible she knew he meant them. ´I love you´ such a powerful phrase that everybody in this world could say but a few meant it, and he meant each word coming from his lips.
Mia nodded as he thanked her, and released his hand giving it a gentle squeeze, turning around leaving the kitchen area to one of the rooms upstairs. She felt better, lighter, she felt at peace.

When she pulled free from him there was a change noticable. She's wasn't so desperate anymore. On the contrary. Maybe Brian had done one thing right for a change. Seeing the hint of a smile on her lips and knowing that there was no need to proof anything right now made a certain weight drop off his shoulders.
Mia turned and walked away leaving him behind. One would have thought that Brian would go right back to the desperate, torn apart state, he'd been in before. But he didn't. The warm feeling Mia had left lingered on and on while he watched her walk away and long after.
