((sorry, it got a little bit longer than I intended)) The day didn't start for Tessa until well into the afternoon. She had gone out to the club the night before, crashed at a friends house and after a very late night there was no way she was getting up before 1 pm. Though, once she did wake up she remembered the flash drive she had found in the jacket she borrowed from Piper and was curious about it.
Once showered and changed she was ready to face the day. She needed to drop her car off at her friend's shop, they were going to do some fine tuning on it for her. Then she went over the the little Internet coffee shop to get a big cup of iced caramel macchiato and plug the little USB drive in and see what that was all about. It wasn't like Piper to carry one around so it just had her wondering.
Sucking at her coffee through a straw, Tessa plugged in the little drive and within a couple clicks she was frowning at what she saw. There were lots of files but they were all named with numbers. There was nothing that was spelled out in words. Why the hell would Piper have something like this?
Tessa went through, clicking on the files they were encrypted. Naturally. Curiouser and curiouser. She sat back and sipped on her drink as she contemplated it. Now it just had her intrigued. She had to find out what it was. Maybe it was some dirty pictures or a sex video that Tessa could use to blackmail Piper (all in good natured fun of course). Tessa snorted a laugh at the thought.
Sitting back up to the computer Tessa started tapping the keys and got to the command line of the computer. Using the coffee shop computer she had to bypass some of their security measures but they were a piece of cake. It just took a little time. More typing and more than an hour later, bingo. She had broken the encryption on the files and started opening them. More fucking numbers. What the hell was this?
For awhile she studied it. She had gotten through the encryption, now what was this? Some kind of code? And each file was set up the same way. The same sequences. After it tumbled around in mind for a time it clicked. These were banking records. Account numbers, routing numbers, access codes, pass codes and amounts.
Holy shit, what was this doing in the pocket of Piper's jacket? Now with the knowledge of what it was things came together. Tessa could figure out what was what. This was a lot of accounts and a lot of money. A damn lot of money. This was millions. No, more than that. Millions upon millions. Billions.
Jesus fucking H Christ.
Tessa went to grab her phone and realized it wasn't in her purse or her pocket. Damn it. She must have left it in her car. She needed to call Piper. Ideas were floating around her head... most of them she knew her roommate would probably try to argue with her about. But... Tessa just couldn't help it. The scene of private tropical islands with hot cabana boys serving her drinks dressed only in loincloths danced in her head.
In a rush, Tessa closed all the files, shut down the browser and put the computer back into it's normal Internet Cafe working order. She plucked the USB drive out of the slot and stuffed it into her pocket. Sucking down the last of her coffee she dumped the cup into the trash as she hurried out the front door. It took all she had not to run down the street to the shop where her car was. But, by the time she got there she had managed to calm herself down a bit. Her brain kicked in and told her she needed to act like nothing was out of the ordinary. A little quick conversation with the guys at the shop and then she was in her car, fumbling around the console as she grabbed up her phone. She saw that there was a voice mail from Piper.
“Tess, its Piper. When you get this, call me immediately. Do NOT under any circumstances go to the house or even drive around the block. Remember that leather jacket of mine you borrowed? Turns out something was left in it that I didn't know about and the original owners are a bit excited about getting it back. Anyways, CALL ME!” Oh really? Interesting. What the fuck was going on? Tessa immediately punched in Piper's number and called her back. Before Tessa could even say hello Piper started talking.
“Hey Princess.... Please tell me you got my message and your not being forced to call me with some gun to your head.”
"Oh, yeah. I got your message. Uh... no gun to my head."
”Yeah? Good.. Listen up.. I'm with Jack...."
"Not the asshole Jack that's friends with Shawn, right? You mean the hot Jack you've been sleeping with?"
"yeah yeah, that Jack..."
"So, what's going on? Is this some kind of kinky game you got going on with him?"
"No, this isn't some kind of kinky roleplay game. God, Tessa, get your mind out of the gutter, would you? Not everyone is like you....”
"Hey! I was just asking. What the hell is that supposed to mean? Nothing wrong with me, I'm not the one that take's their clothes off for a living."
“Look, I need you to go through that jacket of mine you borrowed. There should be a...."
"A portable USB drive, maybe?"
"Oh, you found it?"
"Yep, I sure did. I hacked into it. You wanna know what's on it? You won't fucking believe it. Bank accounts with BILLIONS of dollars in them and all the account numbers and access codes to go with them."
"YOU DID WHAT? DAMN IT TESSA! What are you? Insane? Wait, don't answer that... Just... God, just don't do anything else with it all right? Where are you at?"
"I'm at the shop."
"Ok, fine... Heres what we are going to do. I'm betting they have your picture by now but they haven't got a clue where to look for you at."
"They have my picture? How the hell could they have my picture? What the fuck is going on here and who the fuck are 'they'?"
"We need some sort of plan so we need to meet up somewhere.”
"PIPER!"
Tessa listened as Piper gave her the address and told her to be careful.
"Yeeeeeeaaaaah. Sure. I'll be there in a bit. Need to take some precautions. I'll see ya."
Hanging up the phone Tessa tossed it into her bag and was mumbling to herself. She was still thinking about those billions of dollars and margaritas on the beach but now she was also thinking about how to get all that money and not get killed in the process.
Shit.
After taking care of a couple things, one of them being making a copy of the data on the drive and stashing it somewhere safe, Tessa headed to the address Piper had given her. Pulling up to the house, Tessa parked on the street in front. Grabbed her bag off the front seat, pushed the door closed and clicked the security button on her key fob. She eyed the house as she headed up the walk. Letting out a breath and knocking on the front door.

Reality snapped back into sharp focus the moment the sound of the car stopping registered. Pulling Jacks tshirt over her head, Piper's gaze shot around for her shorts even as Jack struggled into his own clothing. At least, what was left of it since she'd taken possession of his shirt. Spying her daisy dukes hanging from the door handle of the fridge, the blond smirked at her lover's comment even as she shook her head. Grabbing the denim up, she quickly shimmed into them even as she caught sight of Jack picking up a gun.
Shit. That image brought the gravity of their situation home once more and her face lost all amusement.
Twisting her long blond locks into a messy ponytail on top of her head, the dancer tiptoed after the tawny haired man, pausing just behind him to peer over his shoulder. It took a moment for her eyes to adjust to the darkness but when they did, she made out the Camero sitting in the drive just as Tessa got out and moved towards the door.
“Yeah, thats Tess.” she whispered, giving him a look before moving towards the door as the sound of a knock rang out. “Theres no one following her is there?” she asked, keeping voice low even as she reached the barrier and then eased it open to look at her roomie. “Hey Tessa, hows it going?” she said by way of greeting before reaching out, grabbing the woman's arm and yanking her inside faster than she could get out a reply. Once she was inside, Piper shut the door and locked it, taking no chances.
Then, and only then, did she truly eye the woman warily. “Ok, just what sort of precautions did you make and please... Please tell me you haven't done anything insane like tamper with that money yet....” she said, narrowing her eyes on her roomie even as she heard Jack move up behind her. “Oh.. yeah... Jack, this is my best friend and roommate, Tessa Jordan.... Tessa this is my... uh... this is… Jack O'Conner...” she continued by way of introduction, suddenly realizing how things probably looked to the dark haired woman with Jack half dressed and her own tousled appearance.
Ok, so it was what it looked like but for some reason, Pipers cheeks still turned a bit red as she saw the knowing look flicker over Tessa's face. Oh yeah, she was definitely going to hear about this later, she thought even as she rolled her eyes.

“Yeah, thats Tess.”
Every nerve in him was on edge but the moment Piper confirmed it was Tessa who'd pulled up outside the house, some of the tension that hung in the air ebbed away. At least it wasn't the mob-squad come to try and off them.
“Theres no one following her is there?”
"Not that I can see, no," he answered, letting the blinds snap back into place.
While Piper headed towards the front door to let Tessa inside, Jack stayed behind in the kitchen for a bit. A soft metallic click sounded as he eased the hammer of the 1911 Colt back into its uncocked position before the gun was shoved into his jeans behind his back, his eyes wandering towards the second gun (Frank's gun) still lying on the counter. He may have won that battle, but the war was far from over. Those guys, they weren't going to stop; not until he, Piper and now Tessa too had met am early and violent end.
Perhaps that was why he felt this strange excitement rather than dread, because he actually kind of enjoyed the unpredictability of violence. That do or die moment when you were forced to act right then and there, testing your courage and worthiness against your enemy.
...Jesus... He really was just some kind of death wish idiot who jumped in feet first all the time, wasn't he?
Pushing that thought from his mind with a shake of his head, Jack grabbed Frank's gun and tossed it into a drawer, closing it back up so the weapon would no longer be in sight before he headed towards the voices in the hallway. He was still shirtless, but hey, not his fault, right?
Piper was already questioning her friend by the time he appeared in the doorway behind her. Leaning his shoulder against the wooden post, he watched the women for a moment while he placed a cigarette between his lips, lighting it and taking a drag.
“Oh.. yeah... Jack, this is my best friend and roommate, Tessa Jordan.... Tessa this is my... uh... this is… Jack O'Conner...”
Piper's initial hesitation on how she should introduce him and the look that passed between the two women had Jack smirking a bit before his eyes moved to Tessa and he inclined his head in a way of greeting.
"Pleasure to finally meet you, Tessa. Heard you struck a bit of a goldmine recently," he said, the smoke flowing back out with each word he spoke. Piper hadn't seemed too thrilled at the idea of 'stealing' the money, but Jack couldn't let it go just yet. They already had a price on their heads now; nothing was going the change that. The Feds would throw them into a witness protection program in the best case scenario, which in turn was a joke at best. No, in his opinion, they should just use that money to make themselves disappear.
...preferably to somewhere tropical and secluded.

It took a few moments before someone came to the door and Tessa was pretty sure she saw the blinds flicker like someone had been peeking out. Folding her arms she waited eyeing Piper when she finally opened the door, but let out a little yelp when the girl snatched her by the arm and pulled her inside the house.
"Jesus Christ. Hello to you too."
Tessa rolled her eyes and just before she was able to respond to Piper's questioning about the flash drive, Jack walked up and Piper changed tact. Making the introductions. Tessa let out a sigh, taking in their obvious, recently sexed up appearance. According to the frantic phone message Piper had left, it seemed like the world was caving in, but she still had the time and inclination to enjoy herself while Tessa was handling business. Typical. And Piper called Tessa insane. I guess there is a sliding definition on insanity. Tessa shook her head and got her attention back focused as Jack spoke.
"Same here. Heard some... uh... things about you," she couldn't help but smirk. Being that she and Piper were best friends and roommates, he had to know they talked about pretty much everything. If he was even a little intelligent he'd pick up on that knowing smirk on her lips. And Piper didn't hook up with stupid guys.
"Yeah, little bit of one you might say that."
With the conversation coming back to the original matter at hand, Tessa turned her attention to Piper again to answer her questions.
"As far as precautions... I called my family and let them know I might need some of their kind of help. You know, maybe a safe house, some money or something. Don't worry... I didn't tell them why, I'm not stupid."
She paused for a moment and tapped her chin, knowing her flair for the dramatic was probably going to make Piper's head explode. And if that didn't do it, when she finally did tell her what she did that would blow a gasket. With a little grin, Tessa continued.
"Oh, I also picked up this."
Digging into her purse she pulled out a nickel plated, Colt 1911 .45 auto with custom pearl grips. She held it in her left hand as she went on.
"Now, the flash drive. What exactly would you consider... tampering with the money? Because, I did do something and to be quite honest, I think it was pretty genius."
She smirked again as the two watched her and she knew Piper was about to go crazy.
"First I made a copy with all the original data. Then... I sent electronic messages to all of the banks for all of the accounts, changing all access codes and pass codes. Once that was done I made a copy of the drive with all the new information. THEN... I took the copy with original data and the copy with the new data and stashed them someplace safe. And the original, which has the original data still on it, which is useless now by the way... they can't get any of the money out with those pass codes... That one is here in my bag. Giving us some wiggle room and some leeway in case we need to do some bargaining and it also gives us some time while we figure out the rest of what we're going to do. Which, I vote for taking the money... or at least skimming some of it. I mean... they want it back... then I think we should get paid for our troubles."
Tessa shrugged, her face grinning now but she was dead serious. She really thought they should take the money, all of it if she had her way. Given a little time to come up with a plan she was pretty sure they could get away with it. Though, she was pretty sure that Piper wouldn't see it that way.

Ok, so introducing her roommate to men wasn't something Piper normally did. Mainly, because there hadn't been anyone she had deemed worth introducing and she wasn't one for keeping a revolving door of men. The blond couldn't even think of the last time she'd actually hooked up with someone she was interested in for longer than it took to hear two sentences out of his mouth, much less bother with the hassle of explaining his sudden appearance and disappearance to her roommate.
Jack, though, was different. The tawny haired racer had captured her attention and not just because he kept rescuing her like some damsel in distress. The dancer had found herself genuinely liking his sense of humor and the way he made her feel when they were together. Her career choice didn't seem to be a factor for him and she enjoyed the fact she could just be herself with him.
Since it had been a long time since she'd been able to do that, Piper'ed found herself telling Tessa about him and could now see the speculation flashing through the other woman's eyes as she took in their state of dress.
Luckily, the woman didn't say anything that Piper would have had to kill her for and jumped straight into business. Only, the words she ended up speaking didn't exactly give the dancer the warm and fuzzies.
In fact, the more her roommate talked, the paler the blond got.
"As far as precautions... I called my family and let them know I might need some of their kind of help. You know, maybe a safe house, some money or something. Don't worry... I didn't tell them why, I'm not stupid."
Not that stupid? Holy shit. Tessa didn't have a clue what she might be pulling them into. Hell, Piper didn't even know what they were dealing with. Surely she hadn't.....
"Now, the flash drive. What exactly would you consider... tampering with the money? Because, I did do something and to be quite honest, I think it was pretty genius."
Of course she fucking had. Piper felt her stomach pitch even as Tessa continued speaking.
I mean... they want it back... then I think we should get paid for our troubles." For a long moment, Piper could literally see her life flashing before her eyes. Struggling for breath as the enormity of what the other woman had already done hit her, the young woman was torn between the need to strangle her friend and the desire to close her eyes and cry. Frantic thoughts flew through her mind even as she swallowed hard and stared at Tessa as if she'd lost her mind. The sad reality of it all though, was one glaring truth. Whatever their options had been five minutes ago, their choices had just been drastically reduced to one.
Running. Happy freaking joy joy.
Clearing her throat finally, Piper dug her nails into her palms even as she glared at the other woman. “Oh really? So you just decided to make all these decisions about that thing yourself? Do you have any clue what you've done? IF there was ever a chance of just giving the thing back, its gone now! You might have just killed us all!” she said, voice starting at an even tone but crawling upwards until she was practically vibrating with emotions. “Did it ever occur to you to wait and talk to us before you just did something? Jesus Tessa!! Its me they are trying to kill!! The least you could have done is wait a bit so we could talk about shit!!”
Feeling as if her world was spiraling out of control, the blond knew that she wasn't being completely fair but fair didn't enter into the equation as her nerves reacted to the roller coaster of emotions she'd been on. Fear, worry and desperation fought for supremacy as she shook her head and tried process everything that had happened and what Tessa had done. What little control she'd been feeling they had seemed to be slipping further and further away and she wasn't sure how many more surprises she could take.
"These guys aren't just going to give up because you've messed with the codes or whatever. They aren't going to stop till they get everything back. They aren't messing around, Tess, and I'm only here right now because Jack showed up in the nick of time. They'll kill us all before they give up on getting that thing back. Its not some sort of game that we're playing here... And if it is, then the cost is our lives... I don't know about you but I'm not really wanting to end up six feet under any time soon."

"Same here. Heard some... uh... things about you," Ha! Yeah, I'm sure you have...After all, it was what women did, right? discus the men in their lives. In his experience, it was mostly a good sign at least... When the conversation moved back onto the flash drive, Jack stayed in the background for the time being, keeping to just listening and observing. The more Tessa talked, the more storm clouds gathered in Piper's eyes, as though she was somewhere in between murdering Tessa right on the spot she was standing or calling for the men in white coats to come and haul the brunette off to a nice padded cell somewhere for what she had done. Granted, he couldn't really blame Piper. Even Jack thought it was a risky move to temper with the USB drive; by now, he was fairly certain the original owner knew about the changed passwords, which would surely have put an even bigger target on their heads. But hey... always look on the bright side of life, right?
Bora Bora, anyone?"Hey," he said, placing his hand on Piper's shoulder and giving her a soft, reassuring squeeze. "Calm down, beautiful. What's done is done. It can't be changed anymore." Then his eyes turned to Tessa. "How easily can you extract money from those accounts? Cause Piper is right; any small chance we had at giving that thing back to those mooks and keeping our lives in the process is blown now. If we're gonna get hunted, I'd much rather get hunted somewhere exotic than here... if you catch my drift." ((OOC: Short but sweet... ))

Tessa put the gun back into her bag. A frown creased her face as she stood there defiantly while Piper railed at her. It wasn't like she hadn't expected Piper to blow a fuse. Still it was frustrating.
"Look, Piper. I understand you're pissed. You're scared. I get it. But, don't jump in my shit, okay? I didn't know what it was when I found it. I had no idea that the owners had paid you a visit when I changed the codes. Besides... Do you REALLY think that if you just gave it back to them they'd just go away and leave you alone? If you think that you're living in fantasy land."
Pausing, Tessa folded her arms across her chest, gave a glance over to Jack before looking at Piper again. Tessa's brain shifted into a different mode. She hadn't exactly done anything like this before but she had family on the outlaw fringe, so she had some idea. At least they were her thoughts on how to handle this kind of situation.
"You're right, these guys aren't going to give up because I changed the passwords. I get that. You gotta understand that they were gonna kill you anyway. No matter what. At least this way, we have some leverage AND we get something out of the deal."
Tessa let out a long breath. Trying not to let Piper's rage antagonize her and set her off as well. It wouldn't do any good if they were both just yelling at each other. Tessa understood the gravity of the situation. Though it seemed that she and Piper had different ideas on how to handle it.
"These guys are thugs Piper. The only way to deal with thugs is to get down in the dirt and be a thug with them. They don't respond to anything else."
When Jack spoke her attention shifted to him. Listening to what he had to say and nodding her head. She couldn't help but grin a little, even in the dire circumstance. What Jack was saying is exactly what she had been thinking.
"Piece of cake to get the money. And that's just what my idea was. We go somewhere, lay low for a bit while these guys sweat it out. Then we go on the offensive. We contact them. I mean... I don't have a plan all worked out or anything but that's the main idea. Fight fire with fire."
That was the bottom line as far as Tessa was concerned. They had to figure out who these people were. Get as much information on them and whatever organization they worked for. Then they could take it to them with a shit load of ammunition to negotiate with. Meanwhile, they could be kicked back somewhere chilling in luxury while they figured it all out.

The enormity of everything that had happened was making Piper's head pound. Although never one who got migraines often, the dancer was pretty sure there was one taking up residence behind her eyes. The more Tessa talked, the more it throbbed with renewed vigor. Part of her wanted to shake the other female until her teeth rattled while another part knew she had a point. The thing was, while Tessa was one to launch into action, Piper was used to thinking things through and planning the best course of action. Now, that was no longer an option and she felt like beating her head against the nearest wall. She hated the helpless feeling that had taken up residence in her middle because it had always signaled something really bad happening. Only, this time it had obviously already happened, right?
Life was a bitch and then they billed you for it.
Running her hand through her tawny locks, Piper struggled with her temper and then felt the touch of a hand on her shoulder. Turning azure orbs to the man behind her, she felt some of the tension leave her as he spoke up.
"Hey," he said, placing his hand on Piper's shoulder and giving her a soft, reassuring squeeze. "Calm down, beautiful. What's done is done. It can't be changed anymore."
Knowing he was right, the blond nodded as he continued.
"How easily can you extract money from those accounts? Cause Piper is right; any small chance we had at giving that thing back to those mooks and keeping our lives in the process is blown now. If we're gonna get hunted, I'd much rather get hunted somewhere exotic than here... if you catch my drift."
Uh, say what?
Blinking rapidly, Piper's brief relief evaporated. Surely he wasn't going along with Tessa's crazy scheme was he?
"Piece of cake to get the money. And that's just what my idea was. We go somewhere, lay low for a bit while these guys sweat it out. Then we go on the offensive. We contact them. I mean... I don't have a plan all worked out or anything but that's the main idea. Fight fire with fire."
Evidently so. Obviously, everyone had lost their bloody mind. Take the money? That would be like waving a red flag in the bastards faces like some sort of enraged bull. They would come after it and it would only be a matter of time until they caught up with them.
Then again, it was only a matter of time anyways and Piper was smart enough to realize that they were screwed seven ways to Sunday no matter what the hell they did. Since she didn't exactly want to meet her maker anytime soon, she knew they were going to have to do something.
Keep the money though? Exactly what where these two thinking of doing? Buying an island and training man eater sharks for protection?
Damn it, she needed a drink. Hell, screw that. She needed a god damned bottle at this rate. Cause she had a feeling that Tessa and Jack in the same room might not be the brightest idea on the face of the earth. She knew her roommate was crazy and she had ample evidence that Jack was a few gallons short of a full tank too so whatever they got to plotting.. It was bound to make her head spin.
Blowing out a long breath, Piper pointed at the pair of them. “You know what? I need a drink. I'm going to go in the kitchen, find the bottle that Jack had earlier and indulge myself. Once I'm drunk enough not to give a damned, we can talk about this again. Until that point?? Lets pretend that I didn't just hear any of that because otherwise?? I'm voting you both off the damned island!” she drawled out, accent thicker due to her emotions.
Suiting action to words, the blond whirled about and stalked to the kitchen, muttering under her breath all the way. Finding the bottle exactly where they'd left it earlier, she twisted off the top and then took a long swig right from the container, figuring if you couldn't beat em, you might as well join em.

For a moment there was relief in Piper's eyes and he felt her relax just slightly under his touch, but by the time he finished speaking, her eyes went wide and the relief he'd seen in them just seconds ago was gone. It had been replaced with surprise and, if he wasn't mistaken, disappointment and he wasn't liking it. But what other option was there? Stay in LA and hope this would all fix itself?
Yeah... not gonna happen.
I'm voting you both off the damned island!”
Watching Piper turn on her heels and stalk to the kitchen, Jack ran his hand over his face and let out a slow, heavy breath, having no idea how to play this any further with her. Tessa had only touched the tip of the iceberg when she'd called these guys thugs. He hadn't told Piper to what extend he'd been involved with the people who owned the USB drive, or all the things he had done on their behalf. Hell, not even his brother knew half of it. Nor had he told her of the consequences he and his had suffered because of his choices. He had just let her fill in the blanks when he'd shown her the (almost fatal) gunshot wound in his side, knowing that that alone spoke volumes of the ferocity of the underworld she'd unwillingly entered.
And once you're in, it ain't over till the fat lady sings and someone's rotting in the ground.
Shit, even if Piper didn't relish the idea of taking the money, surely she wasn't stubborn enough not to see that they'd be fucked sideways regardless of what they did with the drive at this point, right? In any case, those guys could only kill them once, and with Tessa already having tempered with the accounts, Jack no longer saw any reason why not to put some of the money to good use. It, at the very least, would buy them some time until they figured out a game plan.
And the Bahamas if we'd want to...
Jack dropped the tempting thought as fast as it had formed as his eyes caught Tessa's for a moment before he turned to follow Piper into the kitchen. Sure enough, the blond hadn't been lying when she said she was going to indulge herself with the bottle of whiskey he'd left on the counter; she'd already finished off quite an impressive amount of the amber liquid by the time he sauntered up behind her and took the bottle from her hand.
"This shit ain't water, babe," he said, taking his own hit from the neck of the bottle in much the same fashion Piper had. A beat of silence fell between them as Jack returned the rapidly emptying whiskey bottle back to the counter. Then he let out a sigh.
"These people want us dead no matter whether we take the money or not, Piper. You know that. And if we wanna beat these guys, we gotta start playing the game on their level... I'm sorry but we don't have many other options."

On some level, Piper knew that the other two were right. She just hated feeling like her life was spiraling out of control. The current circumstances had her spinning and the blond wasn't quiet sure she even knew which way was up at this point. It seemed so preposterous that she'd find herself in a situation like this since her life had consisted of work and home for the last several months. Now, the dancer suddenly found herself thrust in the sort of adventure that was like something out of a bad mystery novel or something. Running from big bag mafia men? Yeah, definite something she hadn't pictured as her future.
Unfortunately, it seemed fate didn't give a shit what she wanted and burying her head in the sand really wasn't an option. Not unless she wanted to get killed before she could figure a way out of the position she now found herself in.
At least she had a hot guy to be on the run with though, right? Hey, it was always best to look for the silver lining and as Jack appeared at her side, she eyed him and let the whiskey burn settle the worst of her misgivings. Yeah, it could be a hell of a lot worse she supposed as she let herself be distracted by the tawny expanse of chest on her lover. His words registered next though and she flashed him a look before rolling her eyes.
There he had to go, ruining her temper tantrum by being all logical.
"Ok, ok... I know your right but.. Its all happening so fast. A girl needs a few seconds.. or a few drinks even.. to let it all sink in." she told him, snatching the bottle back and taking another drink before wiping the back of her hand on her lips and leaning into his good side. "Shit... This really isn't some sort of bad dream that I'm going to wake up from is it?" she asked quietly before looking over to Tessa. "I'm sorry. I'm not meaning to be a bitch but a couple hours ago, my biggest worry was making sure Rio was going to be ok."
Pushing a lock of hair out of her face, Piper blew out a breath. "This whole thing came out of nowhere and evidently, you've known about it longer than I have... You've had time to figure out what it even is while I've been running for my life.. Well, Jack and I have... If Jack hadn't shown up when he did...." Shuddering a bit, the blond shook her head. "You guys are right though... We're going to have to do something. Obviously, we can't go home because that will be the first place they will be looking for us."
Turning to look a Jack, Piper frowned before asking. "Is there any chance they know where you live now, Jack? Maybe staying here isn't such a good idea either..."
