It was funny how being back home could make everything bad in the world almost disappear.
Seated on the back steps with a beer in hand, Letty could almost make believe that things were like they'd been in the old days. Back before the heists and their worlds had fallen apart. They'd all been young, dumb and full of grandeur dreams, never dreaming of where it might lead a bunch of street punk kids like themselves.
The good old days. God how she missed them.
As the night breeze ruffled her ebony locks, the woman brushed them from her face even as she listened to the sounds of the city all around her. Even from those steps, the sounds of hot rods being gunned could be heard and the traffic from the distant freeway honking. Music floated to her ears from inside and the familiarity made a slight smile play about her lips. How could she have ever forgotten this? It didn't even seem possible now. This was home. These people were family.
Damn, she'd missed so much.
