It was clear that this guy had been in touch with the police before and was used to climbing out of his car with his hands behind his head. He was no stranger to the routine. Carefully the police officer who had been driving walked up to him, made sure there was no weapon by padding him down and then put him in hand cuffs. "You under arrest. You have the right to remain silent when questioned. Anything you say or do may be used against you in a court of law. (Modern readings have can and will in place of may) You have the right to consult an attorney before speaking to the police ......are you willing to answer my questions without an attorney present?" The officer rambled off all of Shawns Miranda rights, which he obviously already knew. "Just do me a favor and take care of my ride. It better be in one piece when I get it out of the impound tomorrow." was his only statement, which earned him a hard shove toward the police car from the second cop. "The way you've been driving I doubt you'll be able to distinguish between the damages you've done and anybody else." He smirk drawing some satisfaction from the look on the young racers face. "I doubt you'll be getting it out tomorrow...unless you're willing to give us some names and plates right away." Then he was pushed into the back of the police car and driven to the station. "Suspect in custody, we're coming in." Both cops nodded at each other with satisfaction because they had not only managed to keep up with a street racer but shot out his tire, as well. The station was so busy that Shawn was placed in a chair with his hands cuffed to the armrest for almost an hour before the officers actually had the time to talk to him. Finally the one who had caught him sat down at his desk and opened a file. "Do you have any ID?" He waited for a moment but then told him. "We can run your prints, too...do you have a record? Anything you want to tell me now? Sorry, I'm kind of busy and running after you took up a lot of my time so hurry up!" His tone was abrupt and unfriendly. He unlocked the handcuffs and reached for Shawns hand to press his fingers onto an ink pad and then on a form one by one. "Is this your first time, you have a run in with the police? We'd like to ask you a few questions and if you cooperate you might not even have to stay here over night."

Shawn earned himself a hard shove into the car as they cuffed his hands behind his back. Yeah, that kinda hurt, but he didn't let it bother him. Instead he only smiled as they lifted him off the car and moved him to the squad. "Names? I'm new in town." he smiled shutting his mouth after that. Even if he wasn't new, he wasn't going to tell them shit. If they were good at their jobs, they wouldn't have to have him do their work for him. He was then put into the squad car and ushered off to the station. No matter what, Shawn kept a smile on his face the entire time, especially when he looked in the rear view mirror and seen just how satisfied the young cops up front seemed to be. These two, seemed like real winners, maybe straight out of the academy, not knowing a damn thing and then stuck on the street just to see how much they'd fuck up. Yeah, Jack was gonna have a good time with these rookies, he thought to himself with a small laugh.
Soon they were at the station and he was being removed from the car and brought into the station, being sat down in a chair and the cuffs removed from behind his back. They were then cuffed to his wrists and the chair to keep him from getting up. Really? Such a set of dumb asses. If he wanted to, he would have picked the damn cuffs and walked out, but no need making things worse for himself. Instead, he sat quietly, not a peep out of him as they made him sit there for an hour. He even leaned back and closed his eyes just to catch some kind of Z's while he waited. He was then brought to the driver's desk, most likely cuffed to it as well as the cop moved around to take his seat. "What, No interrogation room, or is that out of your pay grade?" Shawn laughed at the assumed rookie.
He smiled as he looked to the cop. "You rooks are always so unprepared. That's my file in front of you, isn't it? You tell me. If you knew how to do your job, you'd already have taken my ID out of my pocket and looked at it when you cuffed me. Now I'm sittin' on it and I ain't gettin' up for it."
The cop then unlocked the cuffs and reached over, placing Shawn's fingers on the ink pad without even getting his permission first. Not like they really needed it, but it would have been nice since he was cooperating so well. Especially since he didn't smash the rookies face into his own desk after unlocking the cuffs. All four fingers were placed on the ink pad and then to a solid white form and pressed.
"Ask all the questions you want, doesn't mean I'm gonna answer anything until my lawyer comes in. By the way, you gonna give me my one phone call?" he said looking from the officer to the phone on his desk. "I'm sure he'd love to investigate this one and take the case when I sue this station for everything it owns. Then I'm going to move to you and your partner. Make sure you don't have a job anywhere after this. You'll be the next burger flipper and fry boy at Bozo's drive in by the time I'm done with you." he said calmly, but sarcastically. "Now, how about that phone call? Either that or give me my ticket for reckless driving and let me be on my way."

The young man's attitude matched his cocky, reckless driving perfectly. "Don't get smart with me, okay?" The cop scolded him and started filling int form. instead of cooperating and offering up some information the racer kept on throwing sarcastic remarks at the cop, who didn't appreciate it one bit. So he got up, grabbed Shawn by the neck to push him forward and pull the wallett out himself and disregarded the file. Sure the file of the owner of the car had been brought to him but was he the same guy sitting in front of him. Briefly he flipped it open and read through it. "I don't see why you have such a smart lip with a rap sheet like that? Any desire to go to prison for a hit and run? If I saw that right you caused an accident." With his drivers license in his hand he noted down the man's name and left it next to the file on the table. "You won't need that anymore for a while, Mr. Rhodes." he practically spat the name at him.
Apparently his words didn't sink in because Rhodes changed his tactics to intimidation. But instead of listening to it he motioned for a phone on the wall. "One call...and you can't intimidate me with that shit. So go make that call so we can assign you a nice cell for the night." He got up and motioned for his partner to take the man over to the phone while he went and ran his prints though the computer to make sure the drivers license wasn't fake.

Shawn smirked and looked way for a brief moment while he said, "Sorry, I wouldn't want to put your intelligence to shame any more than you already have." and then looked back at the cop as he was getting up and walking towards him. Perhaps he was pushing it a little too much because the cop then grabbed him by the neck and pushed him forward, maybe a little rougher than the cop should have, but hey, his lawyer would hear all about it. Shawn struggled, giving the cop a little bit of a hard time, but not so much that the cop would have to get any more physical than he already had. He just wanted to see the cop put forth a little more effort than he should have. The smile stayed on Shawn's face as he watched the cop walk around back to his desk and sit down. Shawn stayed silent for the time being as the cop matched the name to the file he had in front of him and let him read through it.
"Hit and Run my ass, pig. I went to DOC for that shit and had my licence suspended for damn near three years. I was too drunk and my car too fucked up to move that night. So go fuck yourself." Shawn snapped at the moron in front of him. "Open your fucking eyes and learn to read. I hear hooked on phonics works pretty good. You should try it." Shawn finished. The subject on his record of that night was a touchy subject. His father had just died that night and he had no other way of dealing with it other than a couple 40 oz. bottles. Sure he shouldn't have climbed behind the driver's seat, but he was already inebriated enough he wasn't even seeing straight, yet alone thinking straight. The other shit, well, there was an explanation for that, but not one that he could go into detail about right now. At least not with the cop and not without his lawyer present.
"Pssh!" Shawn spilled from his lips as he blew it off and leaned back in the chair with plenty of attitude for the cop to see.
The cops partner came around and grabbed Shawn's arm, lifting him up and guiding him to a pay phone hanging on the wall. Shawn looked at it and picked up the receiver and looked to the partner. "Show a brother some love and give me a quarter?" he spat sarcastically at the cop. Something along the lines of "Do I look like charity to you" came out and Shawn rolled his eyes and looked to the phone again. He dialed zero for the operator and called Jack collect. The phone rang like six times before the sound of a groggy, half asleep Jack answered the phone. "Jack, I kinda need some help. I'm stuck in the LAPD."
"Son of a B...., Alright, but you're gonna owe me on this one.I'll, i'll be there in a bit...." the other voice on the line said as it also sounded like he was falling asleep again.
"JACK! you fuck, wake your ass up and get to the LAPD. I need you to get me the fuck outta here! Jack? JACK! You fu..... As....." Then came the sound of a click as Shawn watched the partner stick his hand in front of him and hang up the line. "WTF! mother Fu...... What the hell was that for?"
"You're causing a disturbance..." The partner said as he took Shawn by the arm and lead him back to his seat and forcing him down in his chair.
"Whatever, he'll be here." he said to the partner and then looked to the other cop behind the desk. "You might as well just give me my licence back and let me go. Save yourself the hassle of all that paperwork and the hassle of dealing with my lawyer when he gets here." he said looking at the partner again that still stood next to Shawn. He looked up to the partner and shrugged his shoulders, "You wanna hump my leg too? Isn't there a dunkin donuts or something that needs your rescuing? Step back and give me some room, Jeeze."

All the cursing and insults didn't go over wo well with both police men. Of course they were used to disobedient behaviour but they still didn't appreciate being called pigs or unable to read.
Once the young driver was sat back down in his chair the cop explained. "Now, when you're done with the insults, you might want to take a moment to actually listen to what you're being held for here....it's not an old hit and run I was talking about. It just seemes you didn't learn your lesson. You hit a car today causing an accident and most likely injuring people. By the timw your lawyer gets here we'll be able to tell you more, so sit back and be quiet!" With that he closed the file. His partner accompanied Shawn to one of the holding cells in the back of the station, which was already filled to the brim with tonights bad boys. From bikers, to burglars, to your regular Joes...none of them looking too cozy. "Fingers crossed that your lawyer gets here fast." The partner smirked before closing the gate and walking away.
It took almost two hours until the cell was opened again. "Shawn Rhodes. Your lawyer is here. Step outside the cell."
OOC: Please let me lock him up for a while , he's such a smart ass.
