Tick. Tick. Tick. It was quiet at the hospital which was rare considering what area specifically she was working at. A sense of déjà vu came over her as she stopped writing and search the time on the old clock next to the ´Exit´ sign.
Mia was getting ready to start writing again when she heard footsteps approaching fast, the sound intensify as it travel down the hall where at the end of it the nurse station was located at.
She stayed where she was with her brown eyes waiting to see someone, and after a few second a man in his 30s entered the hospital, he looked nervous, agitated, like he was hiding and running away from someone. “Sir,” she softly spoke taking her time to approach him not knowing what he was going to do; besides she was the only nurse at the station at the moment. “Are you okay? Is there something I can help you with?” Of course he didn’t look okay. But, the only thing she could do was wait and keep an eye on this guy.

Was he running for 20 minutes? Half an hour? Noah wasn't quite sure, only that he needed to outrun the cops even if he had long dropped the fake passports in a trash can somewhere between 42nd street and High Street. They might have found them though and then he'd be royally fucked if they also got their hands on him. Thank goodness he was wearing gloves and didn't leave any prints on them.
By the time Noah reached the busier streets he was completely out of breath, the muscles in his legs sour and he desperately need to catch his breath. For a brief moment he gazed back in every direction while still jogging along the sidewalk framed by house entrances. Right now he couldn't see any of the agents nor the black Chevy they were driving. Instead a normal patrol drove by on the opposite side of the street. 'Time to get off the street.' He told himself with his eye on St. John's hospital, which was big enough to disappear in. Picking up his pace he jogged up to the emergency entrance that opened automatically and then jogged down one of the long hallways. In one of these room's he'd hide. Instead of a room to hide he passed a desk with a brunette nurse on duty, who asked him whether he was okay. 'No, actually I'm running from some FBI agents.' would not be an answer this women would respond in a friendly way to. So Noah opted for. "Yeah...I just need a bathroom." He could barely get the words out because he was so out of breath and sweating like a horse. He proceeded to make his way down the hall in search of somewhere to hide and pushed through some door, where he found himself completely in the dark. "Shit." At least he could catch his breath for a moment.

“If you are looking for the bathroom that is not the—“ Something was seriously wrong with this guy, she could barely get a glimpse of his facial features as he hurried to one of the rooms. It was more than obvious that he was running from someone.
A few seconds later two police officers entered the hospital. “Is there anything I can help you with officer?” with a smile on her face despite what just had happen moments ago. One of the officers proceeded to explain a certain individual, and right away she knew who the cop meant. It was that guy who was hiding in one of the rooms.
“So, have you seen this guy?” She didn’t know if she was doing the right thing. Wait! Of course she wasn’t! Why did she feel the need to lie about this guy who she barely knew? And what kind of trouble could he drag her into by her saving his rear end? Why was it so hard to just do the right thing and tell the cops nothing but the truth? Who knew if this guy could turnout like Sam.
“No, not at all. But if I do I´ll be more than willing to give you a call,” The officers left leaving her alone once again, she waited a little more to walk away from her desk and look for this guy. The only room that was dark was the locker room. She entered and turned on the light startling the guy.
“You better give me a good reason for not going back out there and find those cops to tell them where you are,” she frowned letting her eyes scan his face, he looked familiar. Who the hell was he?

Of course Noah knew that the dark room is more of a trap than anything. There was no light coming in through any windows so there was no escape route and the nurse might have seen him, too. For a moment he took a few deep breaths and leaned his back against the shelf behind him. This could get bad. Plus now that his adrenalin was slowly wearing off he could feel the spot on the back of his leg that had been caught on the wire of the fence that he jumped to escape the Feds. He needed to hide or get out somehow. In the dark Noah searched around for a light switch when suddenly he heard heavy boots and then voices out there. The Feds! Holding his breath he listened intently. Then the door was opened and the light from the hallway outlined a person. Instinctively he reached for gun in the back of his pants. He didn't want to use it but he would before he'd go to jail. Before it was even out of his belt the light was flicked on and he recognized the nurse from before. “You better give me a good reason for not going back out there and find those cops to tell them where you are,” she demanded to know. A thousand reasons ran through his head, even to still put that gun in her face but he didn't. looking into her face he noticed that it looked vaguely familar. Had he seen her before? Had he met her recently or was she somebody from his past? Narrowing his eyes he started. "Because...you wouldn't want..."From one second to the next he knew where he'd seen the pretty brunette before. "because you don't want to rat out an old friend." He offered her a sheepish grin seeing the confusion on her face.

He looked dangerous but that did not stop her form comfronting him. "What the hell are you talking about?" she scoffed hearing his words. Just because he looked a bit familiar to her didn´t mean, she was going o save him. "I don´t even know you,"
She crossed her arms across her chest. "So, is that your excuse to not go to the cops and tell them where you are?" the stupid smile would not erase from his lips, and it annoyed her, for some strange reason. Mia started to open the door so she could walk out and alert the cops.
He just knew what her actions would be by the way his smile faded in a second. Walking wasn´t option at this point. Run! Run! Now! was all she could think to do. She was the one in trouble now.

clearly the girl didn't recognise him since she didn't catch on to what he said at all. Instead she gave him a sarcastic half smile and replied that she didn't even know Noah and he didn't sound convincing about not calling the cops in yet." The man knew that this girl made the difference between 5 years in prison or not, maybe more. So he had to be a little more convincing. He was tempted to draw his gone but gave it another peaceful shot first. Placing his hand next to her head he pushed the door close before she could go outside and yell for the cops. Then he stated as softly as possible. "I'm not kidding. El Monte Union High. You have a big brother...bulky guy, he used to play on the Football team. Our dads were buddies." Noah was rambling off what he could remember while his hands started shaking slightly. It would be a damn shame to harm her and he really didn't want to. Then something else came to his mind while he took his hand away from the door. "If you wanted to tell the cops you would have already...but you didn't." A more genuine, subtle smile followed as he pulled the black hat from his head to reveal his whole head.

She took a step back feeling her back against the close door, her heart beat rocketing through the roof. Fear, nervousness, you name it. He then started to ramble all he could think of, it took her a few minutes to finally place the pieces of the puzzle together.
“Noah? What did you do?” Now, she knew who he was. Memories of Dom and Noah when they were younger came to mind, vaguely but those memories were there. She moved feeling uncomfortable to have him so close, still not convinced what his actions were going to be towards her.
She wanted to ask more questions, but to just look at him and how tired he seemed from running gave her a pretty clear idea of what had happen for him to run like that. "No, I didn´t call the cops, but I´ll be more than happy to let them know you are here,"

He could tell that she's intimidated by me and for a good reason. If this wasn't a girl Noah knew from back when he was 13 and he would occassionally hang out with her older brother, she'd have the gun to her temple already. Once he told her about their joint past the young woman was able to put a name to his face. Then she demands to know what he did but Noah made a face. "Nothing that needs to concern you." He told her to spare her from any unneccesary crap.
Her dark eyes gave him the once over while she looked pretty tense. From her position she could probably not see the tear in his pants and skin on the back of his thigh, whether that was a plus or not, he wasn't sure. Maybe he should demand some help instead of trying to talk her out of calling the cops. He opted for the later though. "Don't, please." He backed off, away from her to give her some room to make the best choice for both of them. "I didn't kill anybody or anything like that..." He hoped with everything he had that his childhood friend would not reach for the door handle to call the cops back because then he would have to hurt her, which he really didn't want to. He didn't even want to put the threat out there. "You know what, how about you just step over there." Noah pointed over his shoulder to the back of the storage room and let me leave. Count to 50 and do whatever you need to do." He shifted uncomfortably from one leg to the other because he didn't know whether he'd be able to outrun the cops much longer.

No way was she going to trust him or follow his damn orders. It looked like he wanted the best for her and for him. "I didn't kill anybody or anything like that..." she heard him say. “Right…” who knew why he was running from the cops. She was lucky he knew her if not she wouldn’t be breathing any longer.
“Don´t tell me what to do,” in situations like this she should´ve kept shut her mouth and do what he said, but that didn’t guarantee her safety. “Get the hell out of here, Noah” the Toretto temper started to come out, she was a nice and kind person but when someone got in her bad side the wisest thing was to follow her words.
Mia finally opened the door and got out leaving him there. If in five minutes he wasn´t out of the hospital then she was calling the cops. She wasn’t looking forward for Noah to drag her into whatever mess he was in. Noah reminded her so much of Sam, quiet, dangerous, deadly…

It was clear that she neither believed he wasn't running from the cops for some 'minor' reason nor was she a girl to just crumble in fear. This woman could obviously stand her ground, even under pressure, which was incredibly attractive. The brunette was a looker, too. So it was easy for her to get on his good side. When she finally told him “Get the hell out of here, Noah” he nodded with a slight smile. Even without pulling his gun on her she let him go. "Okay." For a moment he touched her arm and added. "Thank you." Unfortunately he still couldn't remember her name. Then she left the room.
Noah stood in there leaning against the self for a while and listened intently to her steps. Once she was a few doors down he placed his hand on the door hanlde and opened it to poke his head out. The coast was clear, so he tip toed out constantly checking to both sides of the hallway for cops.
Just when he was passing the station again the elevator at the far end opened with a bing giving way to two uniformed men, who most likely had orders to search for him. "oh shit." He muttered. If he started running he could make it to the exit before them but out there he had no car. 'hide, hide, hide...' shot through his head so he took the next best door to the right, which was one of the examination rooms. It had doors to either side leading into other examination rooms. "Fuck." Quickly he stepped into the next one hoping he hadn't been spotted yet.
One of the cops approached the nurse on duty once they had checked all the doors on the far end of the hallway. "We're looking for a man, jeans, black hooded jacket, dark hat. Haven you seen him?"

As soon as he thanked her, she was out the door. She returned to her station as started to do what she usually did when there was no injured person coming through the doors screaming, bleeding or almost dead: Paperwork. “Awesome,” she muttered under her breath once again hearing footsteps approaching her direction.
“No,” she answered looking up at the cops for a second before she tore her gaze from them and focus on her papers. It looked like Noah followed her orders. Good. Lately, she happen to bump into people from her past, people that either had a connection with her deceased father or her brother, which brought more trouble to her life.
The only person that didn’t bring those kind of problems was Brian. He brought nothing but happiness to her life, maybe a few arguments here and there, although it was rare now to see them get in an argument... not that she missed fighting with him. Other than his little outburst a couple of days ago when Cole visited them.
"Are you sure you haven´t seen him?" She look up one more time.
"No, I have not seen him." her conversation was interrupted when Noah appeared, apparently he had throw away the jacket and the black beanie and now wore some scrubs. She had to come up with somethng real quick to save his ass, she prayed the cops didn´t get a glimpse of Noah.
"Dr. Anderson. I was getting ready to look for you. I really need your help with Mrs. Grayson. She refuses to take her medication," As if on cue she heard the old raspy voice of an elderly woman.
´I told you I am not taking any meds!´ she shook her head and chuckled turning to the officers. "Like I said I haven´t seen that guy you talked about. Now, if you´ll excuse me," turning to Noah as he follow her to the rooms where her stubborn patient was.

He was going to try to make it to the elevator while the cops were looking the other way rather than being stuck in one of the rooms and detected by them.
In the middle where the nurse station was the cops were asking Mia questions. With all his heart he hoped she'd keep quiet about his presence even though she had no reason to. While carefully walking the other way in some blue scrubs and hoping none of them would turn he heard her voice claim that she 'had not seen him'. Who the 'him' was was easy to guess.
Noah could feel his heart rate increase as he got ready to make a run for it but instead he once again heard the nurses voice. "Dr. Anderson. I was getting ready to look for you. I really need your help with Mrs. Grayson. She refuses to take her medication." Was she talking to him as Dr. Anderson? Was she really making up some story to help him out? Looking over his shoulder he saw her approach him while the cops remained where they were.
It couldn't hurt to play along now, could it. Better than ignoring her and attracting attention that way. "Right, I'll take care of her." As Mia turned into a room on the right he followed her and closed the door behind them. His heart was beating in his neck due to the sudden adrenalin rush from the cops. With his hand still on the door handle he first gave Mia, a bewildered look, which soon changed into a softer expression. "Thank you."
The old lady however was fuzzing about not wanting to take anything and turned her back on them. In a low tone Noah added. "I won't forget that."
Outside doors were getting opened and closed again, the cops voices sounded frustrated as Noah's eyes were glued to the door waiting for somebody to come inside and arrest him, because they maybe didn't buy her story or found his discarded clothes in the trash can. "I need a way out of here." He whispered over the old woman's complaints.

At this point Mia didn’t know if by having Noah thanking her was a good thing. The sound of doors opening and closing was making Noah more nervous and she could see that. She had to show him a way out; it also meant she had to come up with an excuse to tell the cops if they questioned her about where the hell was the doctor.
She lowered her voice so Noah was the only one to hear her. Mia pointed to some doors. “See those doors? If you go through there you´ll end up in Emergency care and the exit is right there. It´ll take a while for them to get to emergency care,” she walked to where a pile of clothes were getting ready to either go to charity or get wash.
“Change. If a staff of this hospital sees you wearing that then they´ll start questioning you. Gosh, I hope the cameras aren’t working either because not only will you be the only person in trouble but I can lose my job. Hurry up and change.”
She turned to the old lady. The patient could be trouble too, but she wasn’t going to get rid of them, maybe distract her a little so she could forget about the fake doctor.
“Please, Mrs. Grayson take your meds,” she took the small cup where two small pills sat at the bottom giving it to her. “I promise that if you take them you´ll have a double slice of pay and If I am correct not only are you a fan of pecan pay but apple pie too,”
The elder woman had her full attention at the mention of dessert. “Alright, give me those damn pills. But, if you don´t bring me those pies right now then I´ll never take these stupid things again,”
“I´ll bring them to you right now,” she turned but there was no sight of Noah and the scrubs he wore lay on top of the pile of clothes.

To ask Mia for help was real stretch considering she was an honest person and he was a criminal, obviously. She had already done more than anybody could ask and was now telling him the way out. Noahs greenish blue eyes darted to the door she was motioning for. He nodded memorizing what she just said and then grabbed some clothes from the pile in the corner. They had to be a patients. Without hesitation he started pulling off the scrubs while Mia turned and talked to the old woman. As soon as he had a pair of khakis and a grey sweater on he wanted to say good bye to her and ask for her name but decided to use the old ladies distraction to make his way out. Hopefully the nurse wouldn't get in trouble because she helped him. It would be a shame if she did. Noah made a mental note to check on her at a later time.
OC: I think this is done.
