Ashton wasn't new to the FBI. He had been there for about two years, and he was already a well-respected undercover agent. Of course, only federal agents knew that. After he moved to America, he decided to become a liaison for the Irish government to the American government. His exceptional performance was noted, and he was practically thrown at the FBI. He accepted. Now, as he walked into the building, he thought about Faye. He had never once lied to her, but he had never told her the truth. He had never told her that he was an undercover FBI agent trying to get into her brother's racing group. He had never told her that his last name wasn't Quinn. Intel had led the agents to Brian and his old group. And it fit, because after the incident with the prison bus, Brian hadn't showed up to work. Previously, Ashton had already used Faye to get to one of the group, and he was now on a name to name basis with him. He had used his racing skills to further prove what his worth could be to the group. Now all he had to do was infiltrate. Several other agents nodded at Ashton, and he nodded back. He walked straight back to the head's office, but didn't bother knocking. "I'm here, sir."

"Good, c'mon in and close the door." A grey hair man in a business suit waved him in. His eyes scanned the kid in front of him briefly. "You look pretty young." With a swift move he pulled a file out of his desk and tapped his fingers on it. It was Ashton's file. "You have good references. I hope you'll settle into work quickly. We don't have much time at hands."
He pressed a button and a number of pictures of the bus crash site were projected onto the wall including one of the burnt out bus. "Three days ago one of LA counties prison busses has been hijacked on its way to Lompoc." He stared at the damage, then pressed the button again. "These are the convicts that escaped. the information we got from the guards on the bus is confusing and doesn't tell us a lot. Just that a couple of people drove up to the driving bus, jumped onto it, cut a hole in the top, dropped a smoke bomb in and then cause a hell of a lot of chaos. Several convicts escaped." he frowned at the thought. "Others were injured including the guards and apparently two or three hijackers. All of them got away. Fortunately the cops and search and rescue were able to get everybody off the bus before it went up in flames." he pause making sure Ashton was following his information. "No here's where you come in. The hijackers used some techniques like a harpoon, fast cars that one of the prisoners who escaped had used about 8 years ago." A picture of Dom in an orange jumpsuit was projected onto the wall. "Dominic Toretto." A dramatic pause followed and a deep sigh. "Toretto used to work with a couple of people." He pointed at pictures flashing in front of Ashton's eyes. "Leon Perez, Vince." he didn't name Letty or Jesse because both were dead as far as he knew. "You're following all this?" He pushed the button again his frown getting deeper. "With this guy things get complicated. Agent O'Conner. Let Toretto escape 8 years ago, has a realtionship with Torettos sister and hasn't shown up to work in the past two days. He is working undercover on a case and the word on the street is that he's been with that gang he's investigating against. He says he was here in the morning. His timesheet says yes but nobody's seen him on that day." He leaned his hands on his desk and looked him straight in the face. "Find out whether it was Torettos old team and where he is or who is behind this disaster and bring Toretto back!"

Ashton stared at the pictures that were being projected onto the wall. He took in all the information, and already a plan was forming in his head. He held his breath when a picture of Leon crossed the screen, but he didn't say anything. Leon made him think of Faye, and Faye made him think of the future. He didn't want to think about the future.
"I've never seen O'Connor around, and I don't think he's seen me. So, we're all good there. I'm close with Perez's sister, and I'm on a name-to-name basis with him. I believe I've gained his trust, so infiltrating the gang shouldn't be hard."
Ashton was finding it hard to believe that Leon was involved in the hijacking, but he believed whatever the evidence proved.

Faye let out a tired sigh thigs were good, really good, apart from the fact she had almost lost everything she held dear to her, almost lost her brother, and had lied to the cops. She let out a tied sigh as she walked down the street, when she realized she was on the same street the FBI head quaters was on she almost hit herself with stupidity. Well it wasnt a crime to walk down a street was it.

Three days after the day of the jailbreak Brian walked into the office. He was supposed to show up for work on Friday but simply wasn't able to. So he had asked Angel to spread the word on the street that he'd been 'washing cars' for them on Friday. Angel didn't ask for an explanation.
Thank goodness it had been the weekend after that so he had time to recover somewhat. Still pretty sore and looking like shit he walked into the office. Brian tried his best to hide how sore he still was. He was also armed with a ton of explanations what he'd been doing in the past few days-of course all linked to his job. With a smile he greeted Trinh who came up to him immediately. "The boss wants to see you asap. I hope you have a good explanation where you were. They're not happy." Brian took a deep breath. "I was doing my job." he shot a glance at the bosses office where he could see some other older guy talking to some dark haired fellow, who had his back towards him. "Who's that?" he wondered. "Don't know. Boss wants to see you in the other meeting room." Brian nodded and made his way past the office down the hallway.

Sir nodded. He noticed O'Connor had entered. He growled but looked away. He couldn't risk Ashton turning around and exposing himself to O'Connor. That would cause the mission to fail, and they'd have to start over from square one.
"Good. Do you need any assistance or anything before you begin the infiltration mission? Any questions? If not, you shall begin right away," sir added, sitting down in his chair. He wasn't going to let this amateur think he could just hang around and not complete his 'mission'.

Ashton raised his eyebrow at Sir's growl, but he didn't dare turn around. It could have been anything.
"No, sir. I've got my own bike and car, so I'm all good there. And I think it's best if I go in alone." Ashton stood and stuck his hand out. When Sir didn't take it, he sighed and ducked out of the office. As he made sure there was no O'Connor, he headed for the exit of the building. The security guards nodded at him as he walked out onto the sidewalk.
His thoughts again turned to Faye. If she found out his secret, it would surely be the end of their relationship. He started walking when he saw a familiar woman walking.
Oh shit. There's Faye. How am I going to explain myself?! Hundreds of fuzzy thoughts raced through Ashton's head. He ducked into a little side butchery, hoping she hadn't seen him.

Faye stoppped, and with a shaky hand brought it up to pull away the hair that had fallen in her face, it couldnt be, she thought, but when he ducked behind the shrubbery there was no denying it, Ashton had just walked out of the FBI head quaters, wearing a suit and looking very guilty.
She bit her lip, brow creasing as she tried to think of something, she could turn and pretend not to have seen him,but it was obvious he had seen her, and that would make her look guilty, she licked her lips, took in a deep breath and let it out steadily.
She crossed the street quickly, finally standing in front of him, she lookd down at him and smiled.
"Looks good on you"She laughed, trying and suceading to act as normal as possible, after al, techinally she hadnt done anything,
But what was he doing in the FBI, was he there for his brother, or for some other reason.
"So FBI huh? Did you get a lead on your brother?"She questioned looking up at the building she nodded turning back to him.

Ashton exhaled. He thought she was going to ask him if he worked at the FBI and what he was doing there. He smiled and placed his hands in his pocket.
"No. I tried, but they couldn't release any info. All 'classified' and what not." He shrugged his shoulders. He kept his composure as he changed the subject.
"What're you doing in this part of town, then?" he asked. He really had to begin infiltrating the team, and he couldn't waste time with small talk. But, he had to do what he had to do.

Faye placed her hands in the back pocktes of her jeans and looked up at him, she gave him a small smile, thankful that it was her brother, and nothing else.
"I got bored being cooped up in the motel, so i took a walk, didnt even realize how far out id come"

The boss looked up from behind the confence desk, his gaze taking in O'conner as he walked in, he gave him the once over, looking him up and down, trying to decipher any tell tail signs that his agent had been in on that bus highjacking.
"O'Conner nice of you to join us"He gestured with his hand that he should sit down.
"You've been Awol, for a couple of days, no one's seen or heard from you"He gave him a hard stare.
"You best have an explination for that"

Brian sat up straight trying to hide any hint of the jail break as well as he could. He wasn't sure whether his boss knew about the cops that had come around to his house. Most likely but he wasn't going to mention them unless he did. "I'm sorry sir, I couldn't call. I was doing my job with the gang and they don't appreciate it when you call the FBI. I was here on Friday down in the archives doing some research and then with Amira's gang from Friday night on." Hopefully Angel had spread the word about Brian doing 'a job' for him on the weekend as he'd asked him to. Angel hadn't asked any questions because Brian had dropped a few hints that he needed an alibi. Waiting for a reaction he carefully leaned back against the seat. Hopefully his boss would be happy with the explanation and not ask any further questions. "Why, what's the big deal? It was the weekend after all and I'm a big boy. I can take care of myself."

Ashton smiled. He needed to get in with the group, and now. He wrapped his arm around Faye's shoulders.
"I've been having fun the last few days. Don't you think it's time I meet the rest of the gang?" he asked. The question was casual and not out of place, but he hoped that Faye didn't see through his reasoning for the question.

"Yea, im ment to be meeting Lee later, so you can come with if you want, i was heading to the beach and then going over there" "I missed you"she finished looking up at him through long lashes.

The boss nodded his head taking a mental note to check his sources, if O'Conner was lying he wanted to know. He studied him once more trying to figure him out, trying to gauge if he was telling the truth.
"The bus carryig Torretto to Lompoc was ambushed in the early hours of the morning, several injured, convicts let loose"
He turned his cold gaze onto his agent, looking for even the slightest tick of reconigtion, "I trust you had nothing to do with this"

Brian froze at the man's accusation. For some strange reason he felt truly offended by it even though he had everything to do with it. "Nothing, sir." He replied and looked out of the window.
"I know because some agents came knocking on my girl friends door and grilled everybody there, who were about to have a nice BBQ, for about an hour. Did you send them?" The look he gave his boss was the same the man had given him a few moments earlier-very inquisitive-suspecting the worst. "Am I under any kind of investigation here?"

The boss sat up a little straighter gaze hard on Brian.
"That had nothing to do with me or this agency, thats the local boys for you"
He looked Brian up at down and pushed forward the folder in front of him, it detailed everything they had on Dominic Toretto including the job he had been involved in.
"But we both know your involvment with Dominic Toretto so do the local boys, dont give any one any reason to suspect you"
With that out of the way he shut the folder and moved it out of the way.
"Whats the word on the street"He questioned, he wanted this gang brought in sooner rather then later.

More than a little reliefed that his boss dropped the subject with a warning Brian nodded.
"The word about our man Angel?" Truth be told he hadn't seen him for days and had no clue what he was up to. "He brought me into his gang's operation. The bring their 'goods' into the country in the spare tires of cars. Angel's cousins make sure they get through at the border. Then they cut everything out at a car wash, that the gang owns. I'm supposed to speed up the process there."

The Boss nodded his head.
"Alrighty, seems like youve gained their trust, keep it up"
He pushed himself away from the conference table, signalling the conversation was over, for now at least, he was going to keep a very close eye on Brian and was goign to be checking surveleince on the cameras for Friday.
"We cant loose these guys so when the times right, well get a sting operation under way and bust them"

Brian nodded. The gang was really the smallest of his worries right now but he had to keep meeting with them so the FBI wouldn't have any suspicions. Plus Angel was a dangerous guy to be messing with. "Yes, sir." Brian stood up and turned to leave. "I'll be heading out to their car wash in the afternoon after I've typed up the report." With that he opened the glass door and left.
Only in the bathroom he realized that he'd be holding his breath. His reflection in the mirror looked much better than he actually felt. brian was just waiting for somebody to catch onto what they were doing.
THREAD CLOSED-open a new thread Faye and Ashton.
