From his position in the passenger's seat of an inconspicuous looking car, Danny eyed the Mexican sitting behind the wheel. The fucker had called him, told him it was urgent, more than urgent, even though it was still early in the morning. "So tell me, why are we meeting in broad daylight, hmm? Gotta be some important shit you have for me if it couldn't wait."
His voice gave away the annoyance as he watched the cholo shifting nervously in his seat, avoiding any eye contact with him. "I want out. My buddies know there is a rat in play and sooner or later they gonna find out it's me."
The mumbled words were not what Danny had expected to come out of the guy's mouth and he raised his eyebrows, almost as if he hadn't heard it right. "You want out? I pay you a decent amount of money to crawl around in places I can't come and you think 'out' is an option? Fuck!" He spat. If he wanted a useless coward for his money, he would have hired a damned bureaucrat to mess up the job.
With stone cold eyes, he pulled a 9mm out from under his jacket and screwed a silencer on the muzzle while he addressed the cholo again in a calm manner. "See, there's one thing I hate in this business and that's loose ends." He turned in his seat and pushed the barrel of the now silenced gun firmly in the Mexican's crotch. "And you do not want to become a loose end, do you?"
The gangster shook his head, backing up and out from under the gun as little as the driver's seat allowed him. "What the hell are you doing?! You're a fucking cop!"
Danny could only smirk at that statement while he brought the 9mm up to eye level. Once these assholes started backing out, there was no trusting them anymore and he wasn't gonna take a fall because of some low-life. "Wrong answer." Without even flinching, he pulled the trigger and shot the cholo in his face, the body slumping over against the wheel as blood trickled from the car's ceiling. To anyone, this would just look like another gang execution and in a way it was.
With care, he wiped the gun clean from his prints before he stepped out of the car, dumping the thing in the nearest dumpster as he walked out of the deserted ally and on to the busy streets of LA. He could do with a coffee after this disastrous start of the morning.
