"Well I know this time of year can be tough." He smiled and turned towards the door beconing the man to follow. He lead Brian to he trunk and popped it. He looked around and withdrew several stacks of cash and placed them I ba small green duffle bag. "Merry Christmas. This should help your garage a bit and beef up home security. The money is clean, it's from my spec op days so you don't have to worry about the Feds, I hope it makes up for the shit you have been through already and we may be going through a bit more."

His eyes widened when he saw the bag filled with neatly bundeld up dollars. To his even beigger surprise a good share of it was suddenly hnded to him. "You sure you're not Santa?" He asked while he held out the bag as if it contained poisoneous snakes. After unzipping it he had a look at a bundel. Brian had seen few fake bills. these looked real but a lot of fakes did. His need for cash made him want to keep the bag even though it felt wrong. "And all I have to do for this is protect your girl? Sounds like somebody's going to try and put a bullett in my head."

"More then likely it will be me sent to do it but I got a million excuses to fail. The sun was in my eyes, I don't kill on Sundays, all that good shit." He smiled and patted Brian on the back. "So we got a deal? I pay you and train you, you protect Ree and make a decent profit?" He shut the trunk of his car and sat on it.

Still unsure whether he could trust walter Brian still knew that it was his best shot. "I don't care about the money. You help me to keep my family safe and I do the same for you." he held out his hand to shake Walters. For some strange reason he thought of him as an allie, even a friend.

Walter took his hand firmly. "I will do all that I can, you and I can bring this guy down for good if I don't get him on weapons we can still drop him for drug running." He slid off the trunk and shoved his hands in his pockets. "When do I start at your garage, and when do you want to start training?"

Walter's confidence was inspiring. Brian suddenly felt like they really had a chance against Verone with all his money and thugs. He squeezed the hand and nodded. "Yeah, together we do."
"I'm not sure that working at the garage is the best of ideas ...he might get suspicious but training...we could do it at night asap."

"Down town by the docks, look for the busted up Ford Ranger, there will be a key under the passenger seat for a storm drain. I will be down there." He smiled and moved to the drive seat. "I'll keep you updated on the Carter situation bro, and for what is worth. Merry Christmas." He slid into the seat and carefully drove away.

As he watched Walter drive away a million thoughts ran through Brian's head. Would Walter be his way into safety? Finally a life with his love, Mia, and their son without worries, looking over their shoulder and Carter Verone? Could they possibly lead a normal family life? Or would Walter be the one to end it all ...in a bad way if things went wrong or he decided to serve Brin to Verone on a silver platter? For some reason Brian didn't think so and usually he could trust his judgement when it came to people.
"Merry Christmas." He mumbled to himself with a hint on hope in his eyes.
