It had been a few weeks since he had beat the shit out of himself and he found himself standing outside Brian's house in a pair of faded blue jeans and a ripped up black Dickies work shirt. His face was adorned with fresh scar tissue and the tear in his cheek gave him an odd smirk nearly constantly. He lifted his hand and rapped on the door lightly, his body was on auto pilot to get here but now he was here he couldn't figure out why. He looked back at the sky blue eclipse. 'What the hell am I doing here?' He asked himself and turned his attention to the door ready to knock again.

Faye licked her lips as she flipped through the paper work in front of her, she was meant to be relaxing, having a day of, but work just wouldnt let her, she couldnt get her mind of the case she was working, more to do with the fact it wasnt an actual case, but was in fact a favour for Brian, trying to find everything and anything she could on Carter, digging back as far as she could, but yet she wasnt pulling any more infomation then what she had weeks ago for Mia.

With a sigh she lifted her gaze at the sound of someone knocking on her door and for a moment she felt her heart skip a beat, she had been more jumpy then usual after her run in with Dom and she hated every second of it. Shaking herself mentally and stepped towards the door, with furrowed brow she pulled it open, seeing Walter stood in front of her.

"Walter" She licked her lips assessing him, he looked like crap, tired and worn, not the man who had rescued her more then once. Tilting her head to the side she looked behind him before offering him entrance. "Come on" She stated softly alowing him to enter her home, she shut the door behind him and followd him into the living room.

"Whats up" She questioned moveing over to the sofa, her gaze shifting over to ehr paper work where Carter Verone stared back at her.

A few moments later Brian came home with his son sleeping in the car seat. The weather had gotten quite cold and rainy leaving the baby with a cold. So Brian had spent 2 hours in a crowded pediatricians practise because Mia was at work.
Tired and cranky he came home with Tyler who was finally asleep just to find an Eclipse parked out front.
For a moment he slowed down, then made his way up the steps, unlocked the door and brought the little guy inside.
Carefully he placed him in a playpen in the living room, then walked into the kitchen where he found Faye and Walter. "Hey, party at my house?"
With a closer look at walter he asked.
"What happened to you, man?"

Joker had followed Faye into the house and took a seat his head resting on his hands. "Honestly I have no idea what lead me here, I have had a lot on my mind recently. Namely Ree..." He was about to ask where Brian was as he came through the door. Walter rose to meet him. "I happened, beat the" he looked to the child. "Beat myself up. I need to talk to you about Verone, and about my girl." his usually joking face was stern and had a passive look of anguish on it.

Something was different about the man. It seemed like his self confidence had vanished.
brian wanted to ask what on earth it meant when he seat I beat myself..."What's that supposed.." he cut himself short when he heard Verone's name. "What about Verone? "
Suddenly tense he grabbed a chair and sat down.

Walter looked at Brian. "I don't know what his end game is yet, he has me moving something big though and you need to catch me when I do it. I am in pretty deep shit here and I have a collateral too. Ree, I need someone that can protect her. My options are slim so that leaves you. You wanted to learn to fight, now is your chance." He blinked once and swallowed.

Brian watched him in silence. His jawa was close to dropping at the info that Verone was running a large illegal action. This would be his chance to solve all his problems.
"I need to put Verone away for a long time. Can you help me with that?"
he wasn't going to make any promises before he knew if that could be achieved.
"I'm in trouble myself here and technically I'm not even FBI any more but I'm assigned to one case and that's Verone. maybe we can get you under protection....why are you doing this?"

"It's my job, I don't need protection. I'm worried about Ree. I can't show Carter I have a weakness, he'll exploit it and put her at risk. I need you to keep an eye on her for me, hell if you do this for me I can train you to be more then just a brawler." He offered the exchange, it was all he could offer. He didn't have a lot of options and Carter already wanted to offer her a job. Making her pop off the radar would be too suspicious all he could do was hope Brian said yes. "Give me a job at your garage for a bit, I can work there when I'm not with carter, he'll think I'm spying on you and Rome but behind closed doors we can train."

Brian wasn't 100 percent sure what to think about Walter yet. But he'd much rather have him as an ally than enemy. So he agreed.
"Okay, I can use some help there anyway because my brother quit."
He let his eyes wonder over Walter's beat up features.
"So what exactly are you doing for Verone? How can I nail him...between us I'd prefer to ...not just put him behind bars."
He couldn't beleive he'd just said that but with his family at stake..
"I understand that you want your girlfriend protected and I'll try to help but she seems like a big gilr to me...are we talking witness protection orjust personal and does she know?"

Faye licked her lips listening to the exchange between the two of them in silence, drawing her lower lip between her teeth she sighed, the woman in her couldnt help but agree with Brian's words but the lawyer in her couldnt sit by and do nothing, heaving in a breath she swallowed and lifted her gaze.

"And that there is my cue to leave" She stated with a smile in the direction of the both of them, pushing herself up from the table she smoothed down her jeans. "Paper work is there BRi, maybe you can find something i didnt"

Stepping around from the table she looked over at Brian then Walter. "Take care of yourself" She stated softly before heading towards the door.

"Thank you Faye," He whispered still thinking about how to reply to Brian. He laces his fingers and rocked forwards putting his elbows on his knees and resting his chin on his fingers. His mind hurt, his body hurt, and most of all his heart hurt. This was something new for him. Gathering intel wasn't, tracking wasn't, but having to watch out for someone while doing it was. Iraq, Syria, Cuba, all of those missions the enemies couldn't track you back home. But this was a whole new war.

Walter closed his eyes for a moment to clear his head. "I need to find out what he's shipping, if it's weapons I need track them and find out where the source is. This isn't a normal snatch and grab like your cash operation was. This is deeper then just Verone and I am a small player in this game." He looked at Brian, "May I have a glass of water please?" His throat felt like sand paper, this must be what the team coordinators felt like when they knew a mission might go to shit, he thought and returned to Brian's briefing. "Carter knows the police and FBI might still use you and I know he is looking in on me. If he goes after Ree she might spill the beans on who I am, torture goes a long way and every has a breaking point to talk. I need to make sure he can't get to her so I need you to protect her. Despite the back stabbing main branches of the government do the people I work for pay favors forward. If you can help me I can help you in the future. I need help Brian and I am on my own right now."

He hated admitting it but he needed Brian's help to pull this off. It felt word admitting it aloud. Words from his days as a recruit popped in his head. "Everyone needs friends."

Brian searched the man's face while he was talking. He looked desperate, in pain, almost broken. Something drastic had happend since the last time they met and Brian wasn't about to refuse somebody help who practically came bagging for it.
He ran his tounge along his teeth thinking about whether he could actually help and protect Ree.
"If Mia is okay with it Ree could stay in our basement for a while."
Brian wasn't sure whether it was the smartest thing to do with a baby around but Walter's intel was too valuable to let it slip.
"I'm on your side. You can count on me. I want nothing more than to put ..." he cut himself off.
"Braga behind bars." he finished a little differently."Maybe I'll even go and get my badge back to have more legal rights."

He got up and got a glass of water for Walter.
"You look like shit. What happened to you...play with open cards, allright. I need to know I can trust you!"

He smiled brightly. "Got drunk and beat myself up in a condemned bathroom down at the beach. Need to release some stress and it seemed like the right way to go about it at the time. I think it adds some character, what do you think?" His voice had lifted and he tried to lighten the air he had brought in with him.

The words coming out of Walter's mouth sounded kind of surreal, yet strangely familiar.
Brian shook his head witha smirk on his lips. "Makes you look pretty tough. Chicsk'll dig it, I bet."
He grabbed a bag of Chips that was sitting on the table and offered Walter some.
"Why do you know so much about me...like what I did for Verone? That file was supposed to be erased."

"I needed to know who I can trust, what they have done in the past and who they associate with. From a legal stand point, yes the file was erased and most paper trails burned but the NSA runs data traces from every federal agency and has at least one person per one person in any operation involving drug trafficking, national security and personal trafficking. After his release from prison he was a target of special intrest, people like that often target those who set them up. I am surprised he never put a charge on your head actually." He smiled widely not wanting to mention Carter almost had him do the deed. "I know a lot about Carter and a bit about you,"

Brian listened with interest. It was a bit of a surprise that the government was actually doing his properly.
That Carter might put money on brian's head had crossed his mind before and made him shudder. What was worse though was that Carter had a whole new target if he wanted to hurt Brian: Mia and their son.
"He knows that if he wants to hurt me he has to go after my family."
For a moment he stared at walter. "Have you heard anything about my family while you were with Carter?"

"Nothing really, he almost did something rash about you and Roman but I took care of it quickly. He's worried about something. He's careful around his daughter and grand daughter and I think it's making him think through his actions more. He's in this for the money and I think he's hooked on the power." Walter eventually grabbed the bag of chips and gingerly crunched down on them. "I can gaurentee your family will be safe Brian. I will stake my life on it."

brian watched him carefully his eyes filled with disbeleive. " How could you possibly guarantee that?" It was the only thing that was important to Brian and at the same time close to impossible.
"Can you find out what he's worried about? maybe I can put pressure on him that way to leave me alone. He's got a granddaughter? That kid that I saw ...little toddler...wasn't his daughter?"

With a puzzled expression he tried to put the picture together. "So what does he have you doing?"

"Right now I'm pretty much a delivery boy. Got a big shipment coming up. He tells me where to be and when then I get information on the deliveries from there on in. It's like a giant easter egg hunt, I don't like it much but I play the game." He finished off the bag of chips and popped his neck. "There was another reason I came here today." He said and stood up slowly.

"Well, can you document what you're doing for Carter, maybe collect some proof, pics or something?"
His mind was going a mile a minute. If only he had a in on Carters crew like that.

When Walter stood up, Brian leaned back in his seat and looked up at him. "What's did you come here for other than that?"
