Brian nodded. "I know it sounds crazy. That's what I thought. But it's not!" He took her hand in his own. "Beleive me, she's alive." He searched her face trying to figure out whether Mia beleived him. It sounded just too strange.
When she asked whether the graze hurt, he streched his side slightly and winced a bit. This could be good. After all Mia was a nurse and he was hurt. It was every mans phantasy to have their own sexy nurse. With a serious expression he answered. "A little." Hopefully she wouldn't enjoy inflicting pain like she did when Dom got shot.

Mia felt her head spin with all the new knowledge bouncing around. She shook her head slowly, trying to sort through it. Letty was alive. Alive. And she was here, back home. Mia dropped her gaze to where Brian was holding her hand, and slowly, a smile formed on her face.
Her family was slowly coming back to her. Her throat was all choked up when she looked back up at Brian. Staring into those blue eyes, she didn't know whether she wanted to kiss him or poke him hard in his wound.
"I-I believe you." She said, surprised that she actually did.
She tore her eyes away from his face and leaned over to look at the shot. It looked well enough, but it still worried her. "You haven't let a doctor look at this yet, have you?" She winced when she realized that all her emotions were playing in her voice. She cleared her throat, hoping to make the tightness and tears disappear. "When was the last time you changed the bandage?"

When he saw her smile his heart did a little jump and he couldn't help but smile with the gorgeous girl. Seeing her happy made him happy. It was as simple as that. Unfortunately it also worked the other way round. And there had been a lot of heartache in her life lately. Her choked up voice gave away the whirlwind of emotions Mia was going through right now. Brian just wanted to make it easier for her. Hold her or tell her everything was okay now. So he carefully hugged her without saying a word. When he let go he could feel his own throat tightening. For comic releive he asked. "You have to change that bandage? The vet didn't tell me that. I guess he's not used to telling his horses and dogs these kind of things."

"Well, you figure he could remember to tell a dog like you." Mia teased, shaking her head at the bad joke. She wiped at the tear that leaked out, and looked around the room for the bandages that weren't there. I'll have to bring my first-aid kit the next time I come over...
She leaned into Brian's embrace, enjoying how her head fit on his shoulder. The stress from his earlier admittance still had her reeling, but she forgave him. He always knew how to press her buttons just right where he could make her madder than anything then back in his arms in a second.
Mia's eyes landed on the backpack in the floor, and she turned back to Brian. "How is she?" She still couldn't wrap her mind around Letty still being alive.

Brian followed her gaze to the backpack. "Allright I guess. Physically at least." he really didn't know. Letty didn't want to tell him what happened yet. He could only tell what he saw. "She hasn't said anything about what happened in Mexico yet. But I imagine it wasn't nice since they had goons with guns chasing her. She's tough. She'll be allright." Brian hoped that that was true. With more certainty he added. "I think she's getting used to the idea to be free again. I have no idea where she is right now."
Then his eyes met Mias again. "Are you okay? It's a lot to digest."

"She'll be fine." Mia thought tenderly of her near-sister who had been around since before she could even remember. She always knew how to take up for herself, and even when her brother and his crew had been living life dirty, she always could take care of herself. But even on her own, Letty couldn't have taken them all on... "And you helped her? Escape?"
Mia laughed, shaking her head side-to-side. "Yeah, I'll be okay. I'm happy. I'm thankful. It is a lot to digest, but..." Mia couldn't find the words. She leaned over and kissed Brian on the cheek softly, leaning back to smile at him. "Thank you."

Brian briefly closed his eyes to enjoy the kiss she placed on his cheek. To his regret it was only on his cheek. Brian wanted so much more from her but knew very well he needed to give her time. And he was willing to do that. "No need to thank me." he muttered.
With a little pride that he tried to hide he answered. "Jack and I helped her. Jack drove the 'getaway' Skyline. He did a pretty damn good job. But he got my window and trunk shot!" He clenched his teeth. "Damn bastards shot my car! I'll get them for that." Of course that was a joke. The cop was happy that the car was the only thing seriously damaged.

Mia brightened at Brian's enthusiasm, barely hiding her smirk as Brian went on about his brother and his car. She rolled her eyes when Brian complained about the shot up vehicle.
"You're lucky that that's all that is hurt!" She hit his shoulder playfully, mentally thanking Jack's driving skills. Like big brother, like little brother. The thought made her frown, maternal instincts kicking in. "Jack wasn't hurt, was he?"

Now it was Brians turn to roll his eyes. "No, he wasn't." If Jack ever showed any interest in Mia he would tear his head off and feed it to the sharks.
Playfully he clutched his shoulder. "Ouch, watch it, you bruiser! Taking after your big brother, huh?" Brian was happy to see Mia in a better mood now. There was something on his mind he hadn't been able to say ever since he met her again. he only worked up the gutts to say part of it. "Mia, I felt like I had to do this. I'm trying to make up for what i did wrong before....well, not wrong, just...you know I'm trying to ...sorry." He was at a loss of words. after all it had been the gang who had been doing wrong things, not him. Brian had just done his job. But he still felt the need to right some wrongs now that he called them friends.

Whatever she was going to say was cut short as the woman they had just been speaking about made her appearence. Mia's mouth fell open when her eyes met Letty's. Her hand flew to her mouth as she stared at the woman she had just thought moments ago was dead.
Tears filled her eyes as she looked between Brian and Letty, speechless. She jumped to her feet and crossed the room to hug her near-sister, feeling the tears start to leak out.

Brian had no idea Letty was at home. He was more than a little surprised to see her standing in the door frame. He breathed a sigh of releif because this made it easier. With a smile he watched the two women embrace each other. He could tell that tears were falling from Mias eyes. She was a sweetheart and it almost broke her heart when she heard that Letty died. Mia was a woman who showed her feelings and Brian appreciated that. He could feel his own eyes water up while he watched them from a distance.

Letty held on to Mia and it seemed like her grip was tightening around her waist. "Missed ya, girl." Letty said roughly, trying not to sound too emotional. It wouldn't help anyone if she'd cry, right? But she was overwhelmed with all the little emotions that flooded her heart. Looking into Mia's eyes a few seconds before hugging her was amazing, it felt like home. A feeling she was terrified to forget.
Strangely enough, the next person she thought about was Dom. She thought what their first meeting after too long would be like. Right now she was planning the hero, tough girl. But she knew she wouldn't be able to pretend infront of Dom. He could see right through her, to her core and soul. She knew he would hear her heart crack as soon as she'll meet his eyes.
'We gotta start making things right again." Letty added with a smirk, but any person who knew Letty good enough would see that she smiled only to prevent herself from crying. And she was referring to everything that happened ever since they discovered that Brian was a cop. Mia and Brian, she assumed, had alot to talk about. And Letty wouldn't give up on the idea of being a family again, and reuniting with her sister...they had alot of work if they wanted their good old lives back.

Mia released Letty, taking a step back to control herself. Her heart was overwhelmed with emotions- everything from sadness that Dom wasn't with them, to happiness that Letty was back, to anger that Brian hadn't told her sooner.
With a big smile, she wiped the tears away from her eyes and stared at her friend. "I can't believe you're okay..." She choked and quickly cleared her throat, nodding at Letty's comment. She wanted nothing more than for things to be back to the way they had been. "We will."
She tore her eyes from Letty and smiled at Brian, noticing that he had kept out of their way. She was so happy he was here with her to share this moment, even if she was going to get payback for making her wait for the good news.
A thought suddenly struck her and she turned back to look between the two of them. "Does Dom know?"

"Yeah, he does." Letty nodded quickly, having a heard time to conceal or erase the small smile that was spreading bigger on her face. All these familiar situations were happening all over again, it was bizarre, yet - too good. "So...were here, again." She said, tapping with her hands on the sides of her hips.
She stretched the belt of her jeans and eyed Brian joyfully. She was on cloud nine, you could tell only by her smile. Not alot of things could make her smile. Only Dom, the team, winning a race and thats basically it. "So, how's Dom? did you see him lately? we talked on the phone but it wasn't much." Letty scratched her head with her fingertips, waiting for Mia's replay.

Brian watched the two girls and tried not to interrupt them. He rubbed the back of his neck. When Letty asked about Dom he said. "He's holding up okay, I think. I bet he can't wait to see you, Letty. For the past two months he had to live with the fact that you are dead. That was hard. More than hard. Even Dom couldn't hide that. He did everything he could to get his revenge but it's landed him in prison." Brian bit his lip. He absolutely hated the fact that his friend had been captured doing the right thing for once. Hopefully the judge would acknowledge that and let him walk. Brian didn't know what would happen if Dom wasn't set free. Now wasn't the right time to talk about this though. It was a happy day. So he wiped the frown of his face and gave the girls a smile.

Mia grinned at Letty, remembering the smile her brother had for her the last time she had seen him. "It's been a while, I have to admit. But he was okay. He'll be okay, now that you're okay." She shook her head, unable to stop smiling.
She hugged Letty again, nearly jumping with joy. "His court date is soon. Once he's out," she paused, turning to smile at Brian, who had been watching patiently. "we can be a family agian."

Every once in a while Mia dropped little hints like this. She looked at him when she said 'we can be a family again' as if she wanted him to be part of it. Also when he and Dom got back from Mexico and they had dinner together she said something about the table being blessed with friendship. Who knew. Maybe she was ready to really let him into her life again. With a grin Brian got up and enclosed both girls in his arms. "Group hug!" Then he ruffled Lettys hair. "We really didn't know what to do with ourselves without you." He let go of them before Letty would decided to punch him in the nose or something...just for fun. "So what are we doing today?" he rubbed his hands together eagerly hoping the girls wouldn't exclude him.

"Oof!" Mia nearly giggled when Brian pulled her and Letty into his 'group hug'. Only Brian could act like a little child and make it funny- it was just the way he was. She caught Letty's eyes over Brian's back and rolled them skyward.
"What are we doing today?" Mia looked between Brian and Letty, shrugging. "I hadn't even thought about it... I just came over to visit." She looked at Brian again, who was grinning like an idiot. She was sure that she probably was too. "Did you have something in mind?"

Letty hugged the two back and let out a laughter that echoed in the room. She then removed her hand from Brian's nape and Mia's waist and stared at Brian as the question came up.
She wasn't even considering any other option except from...visiting Dom. She wanted to go and see him in jail ever since she had heard he was there. Knowing how much he suffered in Lompoc, Letty couldn't stand the thought of him sitting in a small cell, thinking about her. She was here, free in their homeland. And he was locked up, and being dictated by prison guards. Letty's expression darkened sub-consciously, all she thought about was going to visit Dom, that's all she wanted. She didn't care about celebrating her freedom in a restaurant, nor going to shopping with Mia or even a friday night's race. None of the events above were worth doing if Dom wasn't there.

Brian could see how Lettys expression was changing. It wasn't hard to tell what was on her mind. So he nodded. "Why don't we go and see HIM? Visiting time starts in two hours. This way we can still grab a bite to eat on the way." He looked from one to the other.
