"Wow, bro. And here I always thought I was the charming one between us two. Name's Jack." He grinned, taking the offered hand. Apparently he had missed a lot lately, but than again, a hell of a lot could happen in over three months.
"Nah, thanks." He shook his head, politely waving the burger off while his eyes moved over the girl and then the bike. "Nice crotch rocket you got there."

"Hm." Brian added while he gladly took one of the burgers and unwrapped it. The big bite tasted great. In the past three months Brian had grown somewhat of a belly because he still ate like a horse but couldn't do any sports, which was making him slightly uncomfortable. Not that he was vain, it was more the fact that he was growing restless. The ex-cop wanted to race, go to the beach, swim, run, play some beach football, whatever if it meant being active. "Those are the best. Thanks. Hm, This is my brother, by the way. That's Tiffini, what's your last name?"

She looked down and blushed, it was wierd being called by her stage name but since the secret was out it was hard to keep it around. "Um, Torque..." She said quietly as she scuffed her shoes against the floor. It had been an easy transition back to the normal world but she still felt un-easy when her name was called out like that. "You can call me Taryn though." She smiled and looked up. "You know Brian you can still get out to the track every now and again, I'll let you use my bike if you promise not to wreck it."

Brian vagely remembered being introduced to her as Tiffinni but also recalled that somewhere along the line Leon mentioned that it was her stage name. Nothing to be embarrassed about though, right? He took another big bite and briefly glanced over at the nice bike. Her offer was almost torture because Brian wanted to jump on it right away and just cruise through the city for a while. "When it comes to vehicles I can never promise I won't wreck them, so I guess I have to decline." He licked some ketchup of his lip and started flicking through the magazine again.

"You need to get over it, the doctor said it was just stiff right?" She pushed herself off the desk and turned to face him, "That just means you need to walk if off from what I can figure out. It's not like you're gunna go run a marathon." She smiled, "At least take your car out for a spin every now and again, it's better then moping." She pleaded with him, "You and I could race I know you can probably out do my sorry ass."

Brian stopped chewing and looked at her puzzled. Since when did she know what he was thinking and since when did strange women give him speeches. It was anough when the own woman did that. He averted his gaze and kept chewing because he knew Taryn was right. Brian needed to get off his ass and stop moping but what could he do? Race in grandpas Chevy? "Hm, I don't have a car to outdo you." The paper was rolled in a ball and tossed in the garbage can basketball style. "there you go, my work out for today."

Taryn arched an eyebrow and crossed her arms. "Jack you get the back of the chair I'll get the front, were going to throw his ass in the parking lot..." She moved towards the older brother with an evil grin on her face.

"Funny." Brian got up just in case. He didn't fancy being kicked off the chair. "Allright." he wiped his hands on his pants. "Let's cruise then." He held out his hand for the keys of the bike.

Taryn smiled from ear to ear and happily dropped the keys I'm his hand and hugged him. "See a can do attitude will get you far! We will be waiting right here for you!" She smiled and winked at Jack, "And I think we have the hospital on speed dial now." She elbowed him playfully.

Brian mockingly laughed out loud. "What did you have for breakfast this morning? Funny bones?"
Straightening up Brian jingled the keys in his hand. Then he limped to a shelf on the side and grabbed an old helmet from it. "How about you joing me? I dare you!" He made his way to the bike, bent his knee a few times and then climbed on it.

Taryn laughed and grabbed her helmet sliding it on her head. She followed Brian to the bike and settled behind him placing her hands on his hips for support, "Now don't go getting me killed okay?" She chuckled lightly and put her feet on the passenger peddles.

"C'mon, I'm know for being extremely careful!" Brian smirked. The anticipation of the ride giving him a slight tingle in his hands while he held down the clutch and turned the gas to get a feel for it. "Ready?" Carefully he placed his foot on the shift lever. That would be interesting. He pointed at Jack and stuck out his tounge. "The books are on the table there. We'll be back in a few hours!" With a roar they rolled onto the street and then quickly picked up speed. Shifting was pretty rough and made them jump around on the bike a few times because Brian had lost all fine motor skills in his foot. As soon as the wind blew around his nose and the speedometer reached 50 his heart jumped for joy and a wide grin spread on his face-something that hadn't happened in about three months. "How'r you doing back there?"

Jack snorted, shaking his head as he watched them drive away. The books. Right... What was he? The damn secretary? He was somewhat willing to watch the place while Brian was gone, but that would most likely be about all he'd be doing here.
His eyes briefly wandered around the as good as empty garage before he shrugged to himself. His hand dropped on the backrest of the chair, dragging it outside to the forecourt with him. The weather was too good to stay inside and for the past three months, he'd had nothing but various degrees of trouble on his ass. He figured he deserved a little R&R for a change.
Sitting down, he briefly squinted against the bright sun while he propped his feet up on an old tire, his hand already reaching for his unhealthy addiction. Soon he had a cigarette lit up, his head tilting back while he blew out the smoke. He watched it with disinterest as it evaporated against the blue sky before he closed his eyes. Yep.. He was definitely already bored..

Taryn wrapped her arms around his chest as the tires pulled out, she smiled as she felt his heartbeat race. He needed this and she was glad she could help out. "I'm still here sugar, It'll take more then this to frighten me." She said over the sound of the bike. Her own heart was racing as she smiled for a moment she contemplated taking her helmet off. As she noticed a cop ahead she grinned, "How would you feel about a real rush Brian?" She grinned evily under her helmet.

The roar of the engine vibrating underneath him combined with the wind blowing against the viser of the helmet already gave him a small rush. When he saw the cops ahead he slowed down and laughed at Taryn's suggestion. "Did anybody tell you that I used to be a cop?" Nevertheless he went into the second lane next to the patrol car and demostratively looked over at them. Funnily enough he even recognised one and flipped open his visor hoping the guy would recognise him as well. Brian gave him a quick wave before he turned the handle and flew past the car and across the next intersection just before the light went red. He laughed out loud. "You're a naughty girl."

Taryn giggled and shrugged, "I'm more devious then naughty, I was going to just drop my helmet on the ground as we passed" She squeezed him tightly, "See all you needed was an excuse to let loose, you really need to stop feeling sorry for yourself." She smiled under her helmet.

"I didn't know you like to ride a bike, mom!" Brian answered. Since when did half-strange chicks give him a lip like that. And why was it so obvious that he was sorry for himself? He swirfed into the right lane and then overtook a slow BMW on the right side. "I'm not feeling sorry for myself. Just taking it easy.Who are you? Miss Psychology major?"Brian yelled over the traffic

"No but I have played one on TV." She shot back, Brian would have made a great actor. He was quick with his tongue and very funny, "I just like getting to know my friends better. Ihavnt had the chance to get to talk to you one on one before." She looked over her shoulder at the cops who were still at the red light. They had to have red cheeks.

Brian could feel his heartbeat slowly returning to its normal pace. It did feel awesome to rid a bike and go a little faster than in the old Chevy. "So you're an actress?" Brian wondered. He really knew nothing about the girl other than how pretty she looked. "Yeah, its nice to get to know more than your name. But I'm not buying it...you are naughty!" He patted her leg briefly and then sped up again. The next light was already turning red and he would have had to run it so Brian decided to slow down and stop so their ride wouldn't end them up in cuffs. The bike came to a stop and as he put his feet on the tarmac to hold the bike's and their body's weight he was once again reminded why he hadn't done anything like it in the past few weeks. The sharp pain, that shot upwards from his knee made Brian pull back his foot and caused the bike to tip. "Shit. Sorry." He cursed while he tried to hold it up.

Taryn's leg shot down to help stabilize the bike, her smile faded. "Brian let's head back, I'm sorry." She gave him a tight hug, "I won't tell anyone." She smiled again and looked around.
