Tag. Dom, Letty, Mia
The TV jumped from one channel to the next while Brian pushed the buttons on the remote. He was bored out of his mind. It was the weekend and all he did was veggie in front of the TV instead of going to the beach, a race, shops or anything else. The stubble on his chin proofed that he didn't even go to the trouble of shaving in the morning. His eyes briefly fell on the spot on the floor that was scratched and worn out because Buster always used to lay there. Sadness filled him when he thought about his good canine friend and how he had to end. From his position on the couch, that had lost its comfort two months ago, he could hear Mia roaming around the house. "Mia? Could you get me a coke?" He called out while he kept flicking through the channels.

Mia furrowed her brow as she heard him calling out to her, it had become the norm between them since he had returned from the hospital. He would sit, in front of the TV, with a sour look on his face, sighing, and itching and doing jack freaking shit. She had put up with it, simply because she was so scared she was going to loose him, she wasn’t about to do that any more. Licking her lips she shifted Tyler around her waist and headed towards the living room. With a smile she dropped their son down onto Tyler’s fathers lap. “Get it yourself”
There was a fire burning in her eyes, she was tired, annoyed, and more then anything, she was determined to make sure she never felt the fear she again. With narrowed eyes she turned to grab her keys, as they rattled in her hands she turned once more to Brian. “I am tired of your attitude Brian, you think your the only one this has affected” She questioned, her voice so close to snapping at him.
With a huff of air she turned away from him, “Im heading out, change it Brian”

Of course Brian had been noticing how annoyed she had become over the past weeks but he didn't really blame it on his behaviour until this very moment when she verbally smacked him, dumped the kid in his lap and turned to leave. Her words barely entered his brain because her stranger attitude put him off. "What? Where is this coming from now?" He at least pushed himself up to a sitting position. "What's gotten up your...?" He tried to sound as calm as he could with her fuming and the kid trying to struggle free from his hands.

Mia let out a scoff, her dark eyes burning with anger and annoyance, he was seriously asking her that, with dark eyes locked onto his clear ones she shook her head, bit the inside of her lip to actually attempt to keep the Torretto temper at bay. Letting out a deep sigh she licked her lips. “I am tired of your attitude Brian, you got a blown knee gap, big deal” She shook her head, “Iv seen people who were told they would never walk again with more balls then you”
Her gaze momentarily shifted down towards Tyler, his tiny face stopped the torrent of anger for only a moment, “You would think everything that had happened you would fucking deal, do something, but no you sit there whining like a fucking five year old”
This time she bent to grab her bag, slinging it over her shoulder, “Now sort it out, or you will loose us”

"What?" Now it was Brian who snapped. She was threatening to leave him for sitting on his butt after being shot? He placed Tyler on a cushion on the couch and got up to face her. "I am doing something about it, Mia!" He practically spat her name. "Three times a week I go to a therapist, it's not my fucking fault those damn screws don't hold everything where it's supposed to be!" Damn right he was sorry for himself. he had every right to be. Getting louder he added. "I've lost my job, I can't work properly at the garage, our bank account is empty and I can't go out and run and swim and surf and most of all race because my car blew up...and you want me to fucking be jolly, happy, smily?" he put on a fake smile. "There you go, better?"

She scoffed shaking her head, he was getting angry, with a role of her eyes she laughed at his self pity, it really as getting beyond her, it grated on her last nerve. “You need to grow up and smell the roses Bri, I got thrown into the cross fire, because of your job, my son almost grew up without a mother. You can walk, if you just get of your ass…you can do all the things you want”
She stepped closer towards him, her dark eyes burning with a deep fire, “I thought though racing would have been the top of you list, are you forgetting what I went through” She hissed, she looked over at her son, and without a second thought stormed from the house.

Her words stung because they were true. The whole time he'd been refusing to admit his fault, the whole time Mia had kept quiet about what had happened to her or how she felt and Brian wasn't going to push her. He didn't expect her to open up this way though. Her words hurt and made him feel even more like a looser. Quickly he hobbled after her and saw her slip into her car. "Mia, where are you going? Wait!" He shouted visibly upset now.

Some part of her told her to actually stop, to think and not do something so rash on the spare of the moment, yet she couldt, she knew if she stayed more hateful words would be said, what was worse though they were all true.
With her dark eyes locked on him in the rearveiw mirror she shook her head and with a squeal of tires pulled out into the road, and down the street.

"Mia!" He yelled but only got to see her tail lights before she turned the corner. "Fuck!" Angrily he kicked the wooden porch post and regretted it immediately. So he grabbed a chair and pushed it away when he heard Tylers cries. Trying to calm down he ran a hand through his hair and took a deep breath before he headed back inside where he found the baby on the edge of the sofa. Shocked he jumped forward and grabbed him before he could fall off. Of course the little guy started to cry. Humming and shushing him Brian tried to calm him down. It took a while but worked and had the positive side effect that he calmed down as well. "So, what now? You mom's gone to who knows where...coke?" He limped to the fridge with Tyler on his arm and did as Mia had told him: Get his coke himself.

Apparently coming in the back door wasn't such a good idea as it initially had seemed to be.
Dom hadn't been home in quite a while, partly to save his own ass, partly to save that of his friends and family. It didn't seem to have worked that well, though. All of a sudden he was an uncle, Brian got shot - again, the man really had a habit of that, it seemed - and someone even dared to fire on his sister. If he found out who and why, he might actually attempt to kill the man himself. It wasn't like they could threaten him with the punishment of being put in jail - he was a fugitive, broken out from prison transport, after being sentenced to life without parole. At Lompoc, of all places. The two years he had spent there a seemingly long time ago had been more than enough. He'd never go back to prison. It was as easy as that.
Although there came a time that... alternative options became tricky and hard to find. Running from the cops wasn't so difficult, but one had to cut all ties, and Dominic Toretto simply wasn't willing to that. Yet. Ever. Family was important to him, family and Letty. He hadn't seen her in quite a while too, and he missed 'his' girl a lot. That was one of the reasons he had showed up in the Fort. He wanted to check up on everyone, that was the base line. Talk to Brian, who probably knew some handy things, see who was hot and who was 'not' in the racing scene, perhaps even try and race himself. He longed for that freedom, that ten seconds of absolute, pure freedom and having nothing to be bothered about, like the store, the garage, the cafe, the mortgage, being a fugitive, having to run for your life... All those 'petty' kind of things disappeared for that little, precious time.
But he didn't have his car with him. Instead, he had come in an inconspicuous battered hatchback that might have a decent engine, but not much more. He missed his own wheels, but it was obvious that using those was not an option at all. They drew too much attention and were to well known by people he didn't want to know. Word on the street had been that the Fort was clean, though, so he had risked coming here, apparently at a hell of time as he heard shouting - Mia's voice, always easy to recognize for she was his sister, after all, and Brian. I'm really not up to date crossed his mind, not knowing of these 'deep issues' within their 'happy little family'. All he really wanted to do was just call out "I'm home" and take a seat on the couch, have a cold beer and watch some car show on the telly. The first wasn't really an option, but the other three? Why not give it a try. Without much trouble he grabbed a beer, but instead of opting for what he would've done if times had been normal, he took the Corona with him to near the door where Brian was standing and shouting at Mia. "Now's that the attitude you give my sister?" he greeted his friend, although their relationship always had been a bit... weird. He could still clearly recall one of his first responses to Brians interest in Mia though, and he was pretty sure Brian did too - Dom didn't threaten someone to be forgotten. And he had meant the "If you break her heart, I'll break your neck", and seeing them like this, breaking hearts seemed to be not so far away. He still stood back a little, making sure he wasn't visible from the outside, although there typically wasn't much police around that part of the town. Nevertheless, they still seemed a desirable target.
With his 'career', it wasn't a miracle. He was on the FBI's Most Wanted List by the time he was 25, and now, 7 years later, they finally had him. Had. And he hadn't even committed so many dreadful crimes - he was no serial killer or something like that. His biggest hobby was street racing though, and he had been the best. Still was, likely, but he couldn't really go out and prove it to the people. The Toretto-gang had experienced a lot of glitches since he'd been arrested and had escaped - or been broken out.

The deep rumble behind him made Brian jump out of his skin and almost drop his son. His head shot around to see the familiar large frame of Dominic Toretto leaning in the doorway. Taking a deep breath he stated. "Man, Dom, you scared the hell out of me. Has nobody ever tought you to knock?" Of course this was still Torettos house but he could still knock.
For a brief moment he wondered how much of the conversation Dom had actually heard and whether he was in any danger of getting his nose smashed in. With a toddler in his arms he felt pretty safe though. "Better ask what kind of attitude your sister is giving me." He snarled still angry at Mia, who had exploded out of nowhere. "I don't get it. Suddenly she explodes...whatever, man. Good to see you. Everything okay?"
He seized him up. Dom looked pretty darn good. Toned and bulky as always with a nice tan to match his appearance. He pretty much looked like he'd been on a holiday. Quite the opposite of how Brian felt.

A thin smile appeared on the big mans face as Brian practically jumped and told him he had scared the blonde man. "Tsss, always watch out, don't ya remember?" he told Brian one of the basic rules of the street, before stepping on the next subject: his sister, Brians wife. "That kind of attitude? Haven't you before felt the whip of the Toretto-temper?" He had learned to control his for a big part, and so had Mia - even better than him. But still, their temper always lingered beneath the surface, and sometimes there was only a small push needed for the volcano to erupt. Looking at his nephew, he uttered a few words meant to calm Brian down, even a little. "She'll come back... In time."
There a lot of things he knew Mia to be capable of, but leaving her son behind wasn't one of them. Brians next question might be classified on bordering as stupid, but still it was a good question. "Oh, you know, still living as a fugitive that's hunted, but other than that I'm totally fine. Haven't seen my girl in I don't know how long and I can't play the funny uncle, but I'm good." The words were a little sharped than he had meant them to be, but they actually were true. Although there was a lot 'bad' in his life, especially the fact of being on the run for so long and still no sight of settling down in his city - he once had been 'the King of LA' - he was pretty good. "I just miss the racing," he admitted. It had always been his escape, his freedom. It was all he needed, basically, and he had been deprived of it for too long now.

"I haven't felt any temper...no, not like this.." He frowned at Doms question. Mia storming out the door was definetly something she hadn't done before. Sure the woman had gotten angry at him before but she'd never exploded like this.
Brian shrugged at little helpless. Dom definetly wasn't the right guy to vent to.
So he opted for a change of subject. "Are you back for a while?" He wasn't quite sure how to break the news to him or how the big guy would react. "There's something you should know"

"Then you truly are special to her," he said in a remarkably dry tone, which made it impossible to tell if the man was serious about it or joking around. However, the subject of the talk was most definetely not his favorite, so when Brian, obviously not at ease discussing Mia's temper as well, changed the subject he went along with it as if he didn't notice it. He'd find out about 'them two' in a talk with Mia. If she came back, of course. Because although Dominic didn't think she would leave her son behind, the Torreto's had done other stupid, unexpected things before. Which was one of possibly many reasons that Dom now was an escaped prisoner, a fugitive for quite a lote of people.
"If possible; yes. Depends a little on... Well, pretty much everything," he answered, still mostly in a dry voice. Whether it was smart or not, Dom already knew he'd stay home for as long as possible again. He wasn't the kind of man to drift around the world with no roots somewhere - although many found it surprising, judging him by his unsmiling and otherwise impressive appearance, he was quite a family man, and the gang was his family, not to speak of Letty, Mia, Tyler and perhaps Brian. Technically he was, but their friendship was... Unique.
Then, Brian dropped the equivalent of a bombshell on him. Everyone he knew, from cops to inmates to the guys on the street, would agree on one thing; there wasn't much that Dom Toretto was afraid of. Those five words managed to sent a cold shiver of anticipation, perhaps even a tinge of fear, down his spine. There wasn't much visible in his appearance, only a cold look in his eyes and a sudden tension in his muscles, but he could feel his heart picking up speed and his thoughts race. It was that kind of phrase that had been uttered before they told him bad news, no matter what kind of. It could be anything, from increased mortgage, although for that the five words had been too havy, and Brian too hesitant, to anyone from the gang, for which, depending on who, the words could be more than justice. The silence that had fallen seemed to only increase his tension, until he broke it with something that almost resembled a snarl at Brian. "C'mon, what is it?" Those four words also had a whole lot of load behind them - impatience, worry, a hint of fear, anger even. Now he wanted to know, if only to break the tension that still had a grip on him and showed in his high-strung muscles, of which there were a lot, as Dom was a big, bulky man who had very little fat... Every ounce on his body was muscle, and even in his eyes.

Glad about the change of subject Brian relaxed visibly. he would deal with Mia later...hopefully.
Before he explained anything to Dom Brian went to the fridge, also grabbed a Corona and the hobbled over to the kitchen table to take a seat on the simply wooden chairs. After a quick drink he looked at Doms frozen face. That expression could only mean he was loosing his cool. So Brian had better make it fast before his brother in law would shoot the messenger. For q brief moment he was searching for the right words, that just wouldn't come, took another drink and then simply stated. "I saw Letty at the races. She's alive." He studied Dom's face but then looked away because he didn't want to stare at him. "I know you think I'm kidding but I'm not. i wouldn't dare to." A shy smile crossed his lips because he knew Dom would rip his head off if he made stupid jokes like that. But this wasn't a joke. Everybody thought their friend had been killed by Arturo Braga until last night. "I told Mia. Didn't Mia get a hold of you? Letty was asking about you but I had no idea where you are." He could feel shivers run down his back as he imagine what was going through Dom's head right now.

Visibly, almost nothing changed about Dom, although a tiny muscle twitched in the corner of his left eye. It took a few moments for the words to register, before he realized not only that Brian had something, but what he had said. "Letty... Alive?" he practically croaked, keeping his dark eyes on Brian. His fists were clenched again, and the big man felt his heartrate pick up again. It couldn't be; his Letty, 20% angel and 80% devil still alive? He had fucking been there when she was buried, not being able to get close but he had risked his freedom -which didn't mean much then, for a while- to be there, when she would be lowered into the ground and being laid to rest for the last time. And now she was alive?
His face was answer enough when the mask finally broke. This was genuine shock and pleasure; nobody had told him something yet. He looked remarkably vulnerable, on the brink of excited happiness but not quite sure yet if a perhaps shattered heart could be mended that fast, if she really could be alive. "How was she?" he asked a little later, regaining control over his facial muscles and assuming a prety blank expression again, only his eyes full with life and fire again. A small smirk spread across his lips. "Did she win?" It wasn't that strange a question; although if she had spoken with Brian and asked after him, it wasn't likely that it was just someone who looked an uncanny lot like her.
She was alive and she was looking for him! Joy slowly filled his head, but didn't obscure his common sense. No matter how much he wanted to see her, it was a risk, although from what he heard from Brian she was the real thing, his Letty. Now he certainly was determined to stay as long as possible, and not leave without her. He could do a lot, but he had survived the straining period of running because one of his main ties had been crudely cut - but apparently no longer.

Letty pulled into the driveway in a huff. Mia had just called her, she was pissed at Brian again, and wouldn't be home till later. She shut off the car reaching over the center console she grabbed a plastic Wal-Mart bag and her duffel bag. She climbed out and shut the door with her foot. She threw her duffel bag over her shoulder as she walked to the front door. She turned the knob and walked in.
"Bri! You pissed her off something good." She yelled dropping her duffel by the front door. She dug around in the Wal-Mart bag and pulled out a little toy for Tyler. She walked into the room and stopped dead in her tracks. "Dom?" She whispered, before taking off and throwing herself into his arms. She loved this man and it was amazing to be back in his arms, they were strong and made her feel safe, not that she would ever say that out loud though.

--- A car, parking. The door, opening and closing - it all made Dom tense up even more, just because of the moment. Then, a familiar voice rang out to tell Brian what the man probably already knew. That voice, those 'choice' words were something entirely else to Dominic, though. He didn't even realize what she said, just that She said them. Although it wasn't very visible, he paled. It was a voice from beyond the grave that no longer was hers, for it was Letty's voice.
Only moments later she came around through the door, taking another second before seeing him - and realizing who he was and that he was real. As she threw herself in his arms, he wrapped them around her. Only now he knew how much he truly had missed her, although it would take a long night with her and a lot of booze to actually say it out loud, his eys would tell her the moment she'd glance up to meet his with her beautiful dark eyes. Instinctively he tightened his grip a little more. If it were up to him, he'd never let go, not until the earth ceased to exist. Although, in a certain way it had just did for him - for a few moments he was only aware of Letty in his arms, smelling like engine grease and woman, sunshine and laughter on long forgotten days. Letty, his Letty. That was all he uttered at that moment, only audible for her: "Letty," only one word to convey so many feelings and messages.
Eventually, after what felt like hours, he let go of her - or well, loosened his bears hug on her and instead swung an arm around her shoulders, pulling her next to him. He wasn't planning either loosing her again, or stop touching her. She meant more to him than he'd ever be able willing to say. He had a reputation to live up to and maintain; but that wasn't the reason he gently sqeeuzed Letty's shoulder. That had more to do with genuine happiness and love, how unlikely 'true love' might seem for the big ladies man - who was suspected of more than once having cheated Letty.

Brian watched the reunion in silence. He knew when to shut up and now was one of those moments. Quietly he walked to the door where he lingered in the door frame for a few moments. To see Letty alive was still incredible to him and he could only imagine what Dom must feel like. A smile played on his lips when he saw how happy both of them instantly were-like they both had found their missing piece again. If only Mia and him could feel that way rather than fighting and ignoring each other. He knew that Mia was his missing piece but did Mia still feel that way about him? It didn't sound like it.

It felt so good to be in his arms. She wished he wouldn't have let her go out of that hug, but was happy when he didn't completely let her go. She had been trying to find him for months, though in essence it was actually years, since she had been looking for him before she joined the FBI. She knew Dom wasn't a man of many words but she could tell how much having her in his arms meant to him, when she looked into his eyes.
She broke eye contact with Dom for a second and loooked at Brian. "WHY THE HELL DIDN'T YOU CALL ME!" She yelled fire in her dark eyes. If she found out that Dom had been here for awhile, and Brian hadn't called her, he would end up in a river some where. She could help Mia with Tyler. She looked at Tyler in longing. The only one that would be able to tell though was Dom. She wasn't ready for a baby, but it was sad that she had not had a chance to have one with Dom, before everything went to shit. She knew that Dom would be a great father, no matter what people said he did in their relationship.
