For the past little while Brian's life had spun out of controll so much that he had been battling with himself what he should or shouldn't do. The fact that he was still awaiting his own trial for car theft and shooting the informant wasn't helping to get a clear head. Cole had decided to race for the mob, which was an eye opener for Brian. If he didn't get his act together, no matter what the outcome of the trial might be, he'd never get his life on the line and there were two babies, who were about to be born and depended on him. ON HIM. The most irresponsible adult he knew aside from, well maybe Dom. Why on earth Mira still wanted to be with him he didn't know. But there had to be a reason. So Brian had done a few days of hard thinking and heart searching, beach walking, riding a bus around town and finally just watch the traffic roll by his brothers house, when he came to the conclusion that he wanted to get his life back on track and for once be a responsible person. He needed to become a father , fast, and a better boyfriend.
So today he had asked Mira to meet him at the local park near a play ground. Watching the mothers or fathers with their little children gave him a flush of different feelings, from joy and hope to fear and feeling lost.
Today he had even shaved and put on a clean shirt. Sitting up straight he looked around for Mira. Would she even show up?

Mira parked her father's F250 on the side of the street and stepped out. Well today was either gonna be the worse day of her life or the best. When Brian asked her to meet him she really wasn't sure if she was going to show up or not. What reason did she have to? But when she thought about her babies growIng up without their father made her heart break. So she got up and changed her clothes.
She let Max and her father's black German Shepherd Delilah out of the bed of the pick-up truck. Taking the dogs leashes she walked around the park looking for Brian. It took her about fifteen minutes to find him at the play ground. "Hi Brian." She smiled alittle as she walked over to him.

For a while Brian was convince that he could sit in the park until sunset and not see her but then she was almost in front of him with two dogs, only one of which he was familiar with. The pooch greeted the him with a friendly lick and tail wag. It was rewarded by a quick rub. Brian took in Mira's appearance for a moment. She looked ready to burst and clearly uncomfortable, on top of that her expression wasn't friendly. Either she was tired or upset. "Hi. I'm glad you came." He got up to place a careful kiss on her cheek just to test the water. Then he sat back down and waited for her to do the same. "How are you feeling today? You look pretty uncomfortable." Hopefully she'd understand that he was trying to show he cared, which was something he should have done much more. next to him were two untouched Starbucks cups. He handed her one. "Large Moccha with a shot of hazelnut-hope you still like that, unfortunately only luke warm now. Sorry."

Mira sat down on the bench with Brian. "The babies have just been active today that's it." It wasn't a lie but it wasn't the whole truth. "How are you?" Taking the coffee from him she smiled. "It's okay, it's good even if it's alittle cold. Thanks." She then leaned over and kissed his cheek. Just sitting there and being near Brian made her so much happier then she had been in the last few days. Her mismatched eyes watched the kids and their parents play. Hopefully soon she and Brian would be like them soon. "So what did you want to talk about?"

It still felt extremely strange to hear 'the babies' rather than the baby. He took a sip from his lukewarm coffee and looked at her with a smile. "I'm glad you came." Silently he reached for her hand and looked down at it before he followed his gaze and watched the kids play. "Could that be us in two years?"
His eyes were on her again. "I wanted to apologize." A lump was building in his throat. "I've not been a good boyfriend...lately. I left you alone because I was to consumed with the charges against me." He took a deep breath to clear his chest. "I figured if I'm not going to jail I should get my act together."

Mira nodded. "You haven't been a good boyfriend...but I haven't been the best girlfriend either." She held his hand alittle tighter. "I was being for lack of a better word a bitch." she smiled alittle. "So We just have to start again." Her free hand rested on her stomach, feeling the movements of the babies that were do any day now. "So you're going to stick around?" She knew the answer but she had to hear it from him.

Her words were true and gave Brian some sense of releif. At least he wasn't the only imperfect person around and she knew it, too. He agreed with a nod to the starting over and squeezed her hand. @that sounds like a good idea to me." Sipping on his coffee he noticed her hand feeling the large buldge. Somehow he didn't dare to move his own hand there either even though he was curious. But he had been missing so much of her pregnancy that he felt he had no right to intrude into her personal space without asking.
When she asked where he planned to stick around it felt as if she punched him in the stomach because her words very painfully true. Covering his face with his hands briefly he shook his head. "I've been aweful, I know that." Then he turned to face her again and shifted so he could take both of her hands and looked her in the mismatched eyes. "Yes, Mira. I will be here- for the kids and for you, if you want me to."
Unfortunately the trial was scheduled for Thursday in 2 weeks, which hung like the sword of Damocles above Brian's head. "I can't promise what the outcome of the trial will be but if I can I will be around."

"Thank you." To hear he would be around made Mira smile. She then leaned up and gave him a light kiss on the lips. Well it finally seemed like things were back to normal for them, well besides Brian's trial. Gently she moved his hand to rest on her stomach just in time to feel one of the babies kick. A larger smile the graced her lips. "They are glad to have daddy back." She took a quick sip of her coffee. "And so am I." She then moved to let her head rest on his shoulder. "I love you."

Hearing her words 'to have daddy back' tasted bitter sweet. The babies weren't even born yet and he had already let them and their mother down, both emotionally as well as physically. A knot was forming in his stomach that Brian really didn't like. Whether him and Mira would work out and be truly madly deeply in love would still need to be determined but that he had to be there for her and the kids was a given. It wasn't just a necessity but something Brian truly wanted to do. He felt aweful about the past weeks. Unfortunately the trial was going to be soon and even if Brian wanted to be with them with all his heart he might not be allowed to despite the fact that he had not done anything wrong. "If only I could proof my innocence." he muttered lowly. "What if they lock me up. What are you going to do?" He caressed her hand lovingly but didn't dare to look her in the eye.
