As the race started Stephen and Paolo stood on the sidelines trying to get a glimpse of their potential racers. Stephen was able to scare off enough people with his Mauser so he had an unobseruced view on the opening straight and finish. As the cars whirled past him he thought to himself that this plan might actually pull through and steer the Dieseili family away from a fiscal crisis. He also believed he could bring some class and upscaled ways into the discitzens how clamered to these events, but seem dismissed this idea realizing these people were already lost causes. Once the cars past, many of the onlookers retreated back into their little groups to discuss many topics from who would win, or other matters. Stephen didn't care about their trival matters though, he only cared about the two men racing. Paolo and himself stood on the crub alone waiting. Stephen then reached into his suit pocket and pulled out a Cuban cigar. He lit it and waited deep in thought.

What Cole saw in his mirror didn't surprise him. This guy was a drifter, probably from Japan. Hell, its possible he even saw this guy when he was in Tokyo. He gained a little confidence seeing him in the mirror, but Manako's drift style suited the R34 well, and Cole couldn't shake him not matter what he did. This was quite possibly the biggest challenge he ever had in a race, he was used to just smoking people and taking their money...and pride. It reminded him of the days when he raced professionally, you were constantly under pressure.
The race neared the end, and heading into the final corner before the straight that lead to the finish. The two Nissan's were neck and neck, just like they started. Manako had the inside of the corner and Cole was on the outside. He did his best to pinch the R34 a little into the corner to prevent him from setting up a wide apex. At the last second, Cole swung wide and then cut threw the corner, coming within inches of the R34, but still the rival skyline hung in there and didn't allow Cole to pull on him. It was a drag race to the line, and considering how even their cars were on the straight, it was anybodies guess who would come out victorious.

As Manako's R34 and Cole's GTR got closer to the finish line that was when Manako finally thought to himself and smiled This is the reason I came to America. the two Nissans were neck and neck when they finally hit the finish line. Manako slowed his car to a stop, opened his door and asked while looking at Cole "who won?"

While the race was finishing Stephen ordered for Paolo to the Continental to grab the bottle of Chianti and four glasses for the celebration. As Paolo returned the race finished. And as people rushed the two racers Stephen and Paolo held back waiting for the crowd to dissapate. As the last persons congradulated the racers and left Stephen and Paolo advanced towards them. "Excellent proformance to the both of you, well done. Now I know you have no idea of who I am, but that isn't important right now. Oh, I almost forgot, Chianti?" The two racers looked at each and back at Stephen then shrugged. "My mistake, it is the finest Italian Red Wine money can buy." He hands them both a glass and then motions them over to the Continental. "Now I know you have not a clue what is happening, but you have to trust me on this. I am very powerful man and you have been picked by me to race in my stay. Now you you both get in the car I'll further discuss this propostion." Stephen being determined to get them in the car now pulls out the Mauser and motions again.

Needless to say, Cole's adrenaline was sky high when the two cars were dead even all the way to the line. He could only imagine the excitement the crowd must've had seeing those two cars come across the line like that in all their fury.
Once they both came to a stop, Cole realized that all this had taken a bit of a toll on his health, considering his lung issues. He had to take a minute to get his breathing back to normal before he got out of his car and nodded to Manako. "No idea, man. That was a hell of a race." Cole looked over his R34 quickly. "You're a damn talented driver."
Soon the race director came over to them with his hands in the air. "I have no idea who won that race. It looked dead even." He said. "Unless someone comes with a photo or something to prove who won, you guys get your cash back." He handed both of them their money.
After the crowd started going back to their business, a guy in a black suit approached them. Cole's first thought was police, but he didn't exactly look like a cop. Although he wasn't exactly into fine wine, he accepted the glass as a kind gesture and took a few sips of it. 'So that's what it tastes like.' He thought to himself. Not really sure what to think, he followed the old guy to an old luxury car. Now it was starting to hit him: MAFIA. "You want us to race for you?" His finger motioned between him and Manako. He debated getting in the Lincoln for a few seconds before the guy pulled out a pistol. Cole raised his hand a few inches. "Easy dude, we ain't no trouble." He slid into the seat.

Neela smiled. "Nice to meet you Brian, Cole has said alot of good things about you." She shook Brian's hand then watched Cole walk away. A sigh escaped her lips. "What a great boyfriend I have."
After Cole tied his race, Neela waited for the crowd to disapper. But before she could Cole walked off with some suit. 'This can't be good.' she thought to herself as she made her way over to Cole. Watching him slide into the car made her heart skip a beat. "That can't be f*cking good."

"thanks, Cole." said Manako smiling as he watched as a guy in a suit walked up. He offered Manako and Cole some wine. Manako wasn't much a wine drinker but took the glass out of good faith. After he drank it Manako listened to what the guy asked. He Looked at Cole with confusion until the man told him to get in the car before manako could refuse the man pulled out a gun. So Manako had to comply and entered the car with Cole and the guy.
As they sat in the car Manako asked "Okay you have both of us in here now why is it so damn important for us to drive for you?"

"Listen you cazzo I can have you killed at any moment so I suggest you shut your mouth before I personally cut out your tounge!" Manako tightens up but then lets the rage inside him pass. He sits back down and the Contenintal begins to drive off. Sometime later Stephen turns and looks into the back and address the two. "Alright then the reason I have picked both of you to race for us is if you have payed any attention to recent events this goverment has renew its viger to crush the mob. Many of my former ways of turning a profit are gone and street racing was proposed to close the gap. The both of you seem skilled enough in the trade so you'll represent us in races like these." Cole and Manako remain silent in assumed protest against the idea. "Well then no answer? No matter, remember this if you join you will become richer than you could ever imagine and if you don't accept in three days I will have you killed. Finally don't try reporting this to the police. Two thirds of them are on my payroll so I've force your hand." The Continental pulls back up to the cruve that they started at and releases Cole and Manako. Stephen gives them each a slip of paper with a number to call if they wish to accept the terms. "Now gentlemen this is your stop, good luck and good night." The Continental drives down a little further and Stephen and Paolo get out and look around for more potential racers.

Although the actions of this mobster made Cole extremely apprehensive of him. He listened quite intently to what he had to say. Frankly, it wasn't what he wanted to hear. Without even a choice, he was being dragged into the mob business. Great, only a matter of time before that goes south.
So many questions ran through his head. Why the hell was this guy interested in street racing to make his money? Why was he so brief in explaining terms? and why were their lives on the line if they didn't accept? Cole stepped out of the Lincoln dumbfounded, and accepted the paper with the number and looked it over. Did he have a choice? He looked over to Manako to gauge his thinking.
Cole slowly started walking back to his car, should Brian know about this? Neela? Could this affect them too? His head was about to explode.

At first Neela had Brian's full attention because he had no car aka no fun. Watching just wasn't the same. It made his fingers twitch too much. Talking to this pretty lady was though. "You're boyfriend?" He raised his brows in surprise because he had just spent weeks with Cole and had no idea. "I didn't know he had a girlfriend...especially not one like you..go figure."
A moment later somebody jumped him from behind. The ex-cops first instinct was to grab the persons wrist and throw him or her over his shoulder but then he heard Mira's all too familiar laughter and turned around to wrap her into his arms. Instantly he felt giddy and happy, much unlike the past days when he hadn't seen her. That was a good thing, right? He missed her and wanted to have her close.
"I missed you so much." Then he held her at an arm length to inspect her clearly growing tummy. With his palm on her belly he said. "Wow, look at you. You look really, really pregnant now. No way to hide that any more!" A smirk played on his lips when he saw her expression. "So how was the trip back with your dad? Did he convince you to stay away from me yet?" His tone was teasing but he was fully convinced that her father would do just about anything to get his only daughter away from this crooked ex-cop.
Out of the corner of his eye he noticed that Cole got into his car and then followed some R34 to the start line. "What's going on here?" With interest he watched the race. Barely ever had he seen a race with no clear outcome, where two drivers and two cars were that equal. But what happened afterwards was the real spark for his interest. Two guys in suits that had no place in a street race chatted up both racers. Over the noise of the crowd brian couldn't hear what they were saying. At first he figure those two were really bad undercover cops, then some sort of sponsors and finally he connected the dots...Mafia...here? "Shit, Cole. Don't go with them." he muttered and took Mira's hand to get closer to Cole, which was impossible through the crowd around the two winners.
Cole and the Asian driver disappeared with the two black suits into a car. The same car dropped them off again a few minutes later and his cop mind immediately memorized the plates. "What was that all about?" He adressed both men.

Brian's sudden appearance knocked Cole out of his deep thinking. "Uh, I don't even know where to begin, bro." He took a long look around them, half expecting to see members of this mob spying on him, which they probably were. "I was offered a job, him too." He nodded at Manako and left it at that. His right hand still held the paper Stephen had given him. Cole almost wondered if the whole thing was a joke, or prank. It seemed very outlandish.

Mira could not stop smiling. Being back with Brian was just what she needed after her day. She leaned her head against Brian's chest moving his hand to rest on stomach as the babies kicked. "Only a couple weeks left. And I couldn't be more excited, your little monsters don't let me sleep any more." She leaned up and kissed him on the cheek.
"Well it sucked. Daddy has me feeling like a kid again. I love my dad but I can't stay with him much longer." Looking up at him, Mira's mismatched eyes met his blue ones. "Where are you and the kid staying?" Maybe if she was luck she could stay with them.
Watching Cole step out of a strange car made her stomach turn. It didn't look good. It seems like evertime they get their lives on track something come along and f*cks shit up. "Here we go again..."

"A job, eh? What kind of job, Cole....don't burn your fingers...or maybe your whole hand, buddy." He wiggled his eyebrows letting Cole know that he knew what was going on or at least thought so.
Then his attention was back on the pretty lady next to him. Brian gave her a kiss and then answered. "We're staying at Jack...hang on." He stared at her for a moment in confusion. Did he really hear that or was is just a slip. "Did you say...your little mosterS? You didn't mean to say that, did you." Suddenly got a very uneasy feeling in the pit of his stomach...kind of when you know you're tire is about to blow in a race.

"Racing." He kept it brief. "I have a feeling my hands are on fire as we speak." He sighed. He studied Brian's look, he obviously wasn't going to approve of this in the slightest.
It wasn't until then that he noticed Mira was with Brian. He looked a little surprised at first and then collected himself. "Hey Mira, long time no see." He smiled. Then he noticed how large her stomach was. 'They're about to be in for it.' He grinned to himself

Mira smiled alittle. Well it was time Brian knew. "No slip I meant monsters." She took both his hand setting one on the top left "That's one." She set his other hand on the bottum right. "There is two." Looking up at him Mira was a little nervous. "They are twins." She dropped her hands leaving his on her stomach.
"Cole don't take the offer." Mira playfuly ruffled the blonde's hair. "Don't go looking for trouble kid." She giggled alittle. Trouble would always find them, no matter what they did.

"That's the problem. If we don't answer them by three days we are dead." Manako interrupted looking at his engine and tinkering with it a little. "I want to deny them but I'm afraid of dying by gang members. Which is kinda strange since I've driven on Japans many passes and this meeting actually scared me." said Manako closing the hood of his car and wiping his hands on his rag he took out of his back pocket.

Cole was trying to think of a way to explain the situation to Brian and Mira without causing panic, but then Manako "solved" the problem for him. "Something along those lines, yes." He practically whispered, checking once again to find any mob men in the area. Cole tried to think of the positives of this situation. Although there were few, they were promised extreme wealth, which at this point was very attractive to him. His biggest concern was somehow getting his friends tangled up in this.

The next two or three minutes or maybe it was really just seconds Brian treid to calculate what Mira had just said 'two- one here, one here, twins'. His hand was tillon her abdomen as he felt a little bump against it. "You're joking, right?" His jaw had practically dropped and his face lost all color. But when his pale blue eyes met her sparkling ones he knew it was no joke. "You're not." His ran his fingers through his hair in despair. "What? really? Holy shit!" Somehow even the mafia didn't face him when he felt his whole world as it was come tumbling down. How was he ever going to get back in the driver seat with twins?
Eventually he turned to Cole again and shook his head. "Er, er, what was that? Dead in three days. Holy shit." He still couldn't process what he just heard. was this some sort of a bad dream? Mafia lighting Havanas and twins?

As Stephen and Paolo walked down the street looking for other people to have race for them Stephen turned around. He noticed Cole was in an intense conversation with two other people. Realizing that he was talking about what just happened was easy to see. The hard part was figuring out who the others were. Insticitly Stephen walked over to protect his investment. As he approached he had think of something to stay. He pondered for a second then realized there was no time, he had to make something up on the spot. When Stephen entered their circle he spoke in a sly voice. "Um... Hello there. Kid you never mentioned your name. Just wondering what it was for... buisness reasons. These friends of yours, partners, parents? No matter, I realized I never introduced myself either. I'm Stephano, Stephano Dieseli. Your "friends" know how to race to?"

At the showing of Stephano, Cole had the biggest 'oh shit!' moment of his life. He quickly thought up some BS to keep his friends out of this. "No, they're not racers, just spectators that wanted to talk to us about the race." Cole then walked closer to him and whispered to him. "Could we talk in private?" He motioned away from them and behind a pickup that was parked near by. Once he got there, he gave what the mob boss wanted, having a feeling that lying to him would only make things worse. "My name is Cole Peyton." He stated. "Alright, on the condition that I am the only member of my family or friends back home that is involved in this, I will drive for you, Mr. Dieseli." He took a breath, wondering what he had just gotton into, though he felt he didn't have a choice.
