After a couple nights at Jack's shack, Friday night finally came around, and Cole decided he was going to take full advantage of it. Mostly for fun, but also because he was already tired of sleeping in a bed with cockroaches. He walked in the living room to see Brian flipping through channels. "Hey Brian, I'm going to go find the underground and make us some money. You wanna come or what?" He grabbed the keys to the GTR off the key hook and opened the door. Nights like these is what he lived for.

Brian was bored stiff and nervous as hell because not only was the trial getting closer with fast steps but also the baby's arrival. He hadn't seen Mira since he was back but wanted to badly.
Looking up at Cole he sighed. "Why not." He could alwazs tag along and watch Cole beat some Mexicans.
"I'll give Mira a call first though."
With the phone in his hand he vanished out the back door dialling her number. Hopefully she would be home. Unfortuantely the phone kept ringing until the mail box came on. "Hey, it's me...we're heading into town to see some racing...do you feel like coming? I'd really like to see you."
With a frown he came back to greet Cole. "Let's go.:

Cole led them out of the house and unlocked the Nissan. "Why the long face?" He noticed Brian's frown. "Is Mira joining us?" He started the GTR and began the journey to where he remembers some pretty big throwdowns back when he raced in California.

About 20 minutes later, Cole started recognizing streets and followed them to where he remembered the spot was. Soon, the sound of engines redlining and tires screeching broke into the air, proving his memory correct. Finally, hundreds of parked cars came into the view, all with the usual ridiculously decorated drivers and girls sitting around the cars who were probably payed off. "Bunch of pimps out tonight." Cole stated as he found an empty spot in the lot and backed into it. His red GTR was already getting plenty of attention.

He jumped out of the seat and took a quick stroll down the row of cars his was in, looking for any potential contenders.

It did not take Neela long to after Cole left to decide that she was going back to the U.S. It took even less time for her to find the race scene. She pulled her blue RX-8 into on of rhe empty spots down at the end of the street. One quick look around told her all she needed to know. It looked like it was gonna be a night full of pimps and hookers. She sighed as she got out of her car. Easy money tonight she thought as she leaned back against the hood of her RX-8.

After he scanned the row of cars, he quickly dismissed any those as anything he'd spend his time with, just a bunch of riced up Hondas and Toyotas. He took a look back at Brian who looked like he was busy checking something else out. Finally he spotted a section of cars across the row that looked a little more substantial, STI's, S2000's, RX-7's, Skylines, and Evos.

'Should've parked here.' He thought to himself when he reached the section. His eyes floated over the different cars and drivers. Still a bunch of phonies, but apparently richer phonies. Out of the corner of his eye he saw a nice blue RX-8 that looked a lot like Neela's...wait a minute, it was Neela's...His heart skipped a beat and he was positive his eyes deceived him. 'No way.' He thought to himself. He got closer to the car to make sure he was right. Then he saw the biggest confirmation he could get, that gorgeous brunette was standing at the back of the car, her back facing him. He shook his head in disbelief but was also pretty ecstatic that she, for whatever reason, was here. He walked up behind her and once he was sure it was her, said. "You know, you coulda called me." A grin on his face.

Neela sat playing games on her iphone waiting for any challengers. Sighing she slipped her phone back in her pocket, at the same moment she heard a very fimilar vioce. It was Cole. "I tried." She smiled as she turned around. "I knew I would find you here. You can't stay away from racing." Her arms were soon wrapped around his waist as her head rested on his chest. "I missed you." She hugged him alittle tighter.

The whole drive Brian had been in a weird mood because Mira hadn't picked up the phone and he hadn't seen her but the sight of dozens of illegally modified cars made his heart grow a little happier.
He got out of Coles car and took a look around for familiar faces. Most of the people here he had never seen but they still looked remarkibly similar to the ones in Miami...scarcely dressed, hot chicks mingling with teenagers trying to be men or men trying to be something more.

Brian let his gaze wander some more and enhaled the exhilerating atmosphere. One of the guys in the crowd seemed to recognise him and called out "Brian" but when Brian turned to see who he was he didn't recognise him. Yet he greeted him in a friendly manner.
"Remember me? Hondus from LA...two years ago?" brian raised his brows. "Hondus....hm...were you with Rodriguez crew?"
"No, man, no." The man shook his head and laughed at him but Brian had turned back to Cole, who had walked over to a different group of drivers and was now being hugged but one heck of a hot chick.
Quickly he clapped Hondus on the shoulder and jogged over to his friend.
"Hey, hey. Don't just run away. Introduce me to the young racer here." He smiled from one ear to the other like back in the day when he was 21 and sporting those ridiculous blonde curls.

"Yeah you know me alright." He wrapped his arms around her back firmly. "Missed you too, now tell me why you came back to the states? I thought Japan was your home." He asked. He let her go and smiled, he suddenly felt a little guilty for taking off on her in Tokyo, but then again he didn't have much of a choice.

Brian's arrival startled him just a little. After all, this was the girl that originally caused a big argument between them, even if Brian didn't realize it. "Hey Brian, this is Neela. She was a friend of mine way back when I first came onto the scene. She's a hell of a driver too." He nodded and decided to leave it at that. He thought it may be best if Brian didn't know the rest of the details.

Manako was driving down the road, listening to Down with the Sickness by Disturbed, looking for the race scene that he got wind of. As he turned left down one street he could see lights down the road. He continued down the road and as he got closer he said "Man this is a lot different than Japan."

He started looking for a parking spot. As he was looking he noticed that some of the cars were pretty cool looking. Then he found an open spot and parked his car. He then got out of his car and started looking around. he was here more for the racing he didn't care what happens has long has it had good racing.

He turned around and walked back to his car. As he walks he noticed a red GTR. He then began to walk over to it and looked it over. Hmmm the new GTR I prefer the Skyline he thought to himself. Then he began to shout "Alright whose red GTR is this?"

"Paolo when the hell we gonna get to there anyway; you sure you know where your going?"
"Boss listen I got a tip form one of them new guys. Says there is some kind of street race going on down around here."
"Fine, fine just tell me when we get there."
Their all black 1970 Lincoln Continental lumbered down sidestreet after sidestreet until finally they reached their destination, this street race. Paolo stepped out first and proceeded to the back of the car opening the door for Stephen.
Stephen steped out of the Continenial and looked around. He quickly reached for his C96 Mauser and released the safety. Knowing all too well that something bad could happen and most certainly would. As he scannd the sea of people he was disgusted by what he saw. Scantly clad women seen only as objects, druken men showering them with money, "cool" kids with their mother's car trying to win a few bucks, and finally modern sports cars.
Stephen and Paolo stood out from the crowd like a black sheep in the snow. Their finely pressed black suits
where over shadowed by the bright neon hues put off the cars and their drivers. It didn't help either that they were probally the only two over thirty, yet alone forty. They walked down row after row of cars and their drivers. Stephen noticed some Asian guy and thought to himself that he didn't seem to fit this picture. Paolo noticed him as well, he didn't seem to care so much. As they finished scoping out the area they returned to their car. And after ridding the car of onlookers the entered and began to discusse.
"Paolo what the hell where you thinking! Sure using street racing as a way to turn a profit seemed great at the conference, but look! Do you really want to asscoicate the Dieseli family with these slobs?"
"Listen I know you hate it boss, but the feds have forced our hand. I hate this plan as much as you but it has to be done."
"Paolo I've known you for a long time now and I know you wouldn't propose this if you thought it wouldn't work. So i'll go off on a limib here and trust you."
"I thought you'd come around. Now lets go out there and find some people."
The two exit the car and begining to scan the crowd once more in an attempt to find some potential racers.

Cole's attention was torn away from Brian and Neela when he spotted some Asian guy standing by his GTR calling it out. 'Well that was easy.' He thought to himself, guy had some balls. "Be right back, guys." He told them and jogged back to his car, chances were he wasn't going to be "right back."

He kept his eyes trained on the challenger until he finally reached him. "That would be mine." Cole held an eyebrow up as he studied the Asian.

Decideding that she had enough Daddy Mira time, Mira figured she deserved a night out. And Brian's invitation was welcomed. So waiting till her dad went to bed she quitely tip toed out to her Dodge Charger.

It took her about 20 minutes to find the racers and almost as long to find Brian. But when she found him, she wrapped her arms around him from behind. Her chin rested on his shoulder as she spoke in his ear. "Miss me love?"

As Manako was about to leave he heard a voice yell "That would be mine" as he turned around he noticed a Blonde headed man running towards him. Manako Waited for him to get closer before asking "So this is your car?" looking at Cole. "Well, my name is Manako Sora, and I'm challenging you to a race and your name might be?"

"She would be mine." Cole said proudly of his GTR. He checked the cars around him to make a guess at which one would be Manako's. He saw a few civics, which couldn't be it, and a couple Mazdas, which probably wasn't it either.

"A race, huh?" Cole gained a small smirk. "I hope you know what you're getting into." He patted the hood of his GTR. "Name's Cole Peyton." He extended his hand to Manako, attempting to make this at least somewhat of a formal introduction. "I got a grand in my pocket, you game?"

"Yeah I know what I'm getting into." Manako said extending his hand to connect with Cole's. "Well Cole Peyton a grand sounds good." As Manako pulls out the wad to show Cole. "Alright let me grab my car and I'll follow you to the starting line." Then Manako walks off towards his Nissan Skyline R34 GTR. When he got to his car he patted the hood and said "Alright girl we have a race to win." he got into his car and started the engine. then he pulled up in front of Cole's car and waited for him to pull out.

As Stephen and Paolo walked back through the rows of cars their sprites began to low. Having no luck in finding anyone who looked any bit confident at racing. Finally though they noticed the Asian once more and better yet he appeared to be wanting to race some some blonde kid.
"See Paolo I told you to watch him, look he will crush that little punk and then we'll offer him a job."
"I don't know boss, that little "punk" has a pretty nice car."
"There cars mean nothing, it is only the driver's skill that matters. If either of them show any talent we'll hire them and they'll have any car they want."
"Alright its your move boss."
The two watch the potential racers carefully, studying their every move. As they watched from their vantage point they could only hope they had made the right move.

'Yeah I doubt you do.' Cole thought to himself. He quickly opened the hood of the R35 and adjusted the boost controller to it's maximum setting. 40 lbs of boost coming from twin GT35R turbos was a deadly combination. Once he got in the car, he accessed the ECU tuning system he had installed in the car's onboard computer, and leaned the mixture slightly to achieve max combustion/efficiency. He fired the GTR's VR38 and listened to those aftermarket cams rumble at idle. He saw Manako's R34 pull out in front of him. "Predictable." He said to himself and filed in behind him to the start line, pulling even with him.

The race directer stood between the two Nissan's, took their money, and described the race. "Alright guys, you'll make a lap around those warehouses and then through the oil refinery and back. It's a pretty twisty course and is about 3 miles long. We good?" He looked at both the drivers.

"Good." Cole responded and activated the two step launch control. He wished the GTR was a straight stick instead of a twin-clutch paddle shift, but that system was nice for launches.

"Good." said Manako as he revved his engine. Then the race director nodded raising both hands. "Alright we go in 3..." Manako revved his engine some more "2... 1... GO!!!" then the race director drops both his hands and Manako shifts it into first and speeds off tyres squealing.

The sound of the turbos from the two Skylines was comparable to that of a jet engine...deafening. Cole was pinned in his seat as he brought the car through all the savage gear changes, sometimes he forgot how fast the thing actually was. Their cars were almost dead even at the end of the straight as they neared the first turn, which was a right hander. Cole brought the car as far to the left as possible and hammered the brakes as late as possible, on the threshold of locking up, doing his best to outbrake the rival Skyline. He then darted into the corner at speed, making the tires protest a little, but they held all the way to the apex point Cole pictured in the corner. He squeezed on the throttle at the apex and soon brought it back to full power as he let the car slide to the edge of the road. He checked his mirrors for any sign of the R34.

Manako watched the GTR take the corner. As Manako came upon the corner he then drifted around the corner at full speed in the middle of his drift he stepped on the gas and clearing the corner. as Manako got around the corner he could see the GTR a little ahead but Manako was gaining little by little. Until Manako was right behind the GTR.
