Pulling her car to a stop she wrapped her hands around the wheel looking up over at the house she was stopped out of. Heaving in a deep breath she let it out steadily, her eyes flicking closed for a moment. Her life was just back on track and here she was right back at the start, knowing everything that had happened had been because the man currently sharing her bed, had messed with the pair of them. Licking her lips she grabbed her bag and stepped out of the car, shutting the door and locking it behind her. With careful steps she made her way up the drive to the house she had once lived in. God how things had changed.
Knocking on the door she waited patiently for Brian to answer. Joker had told her everything, and she trusted him, she really did, but she needed to hear everything from Brian. She had only managed to get half the information, her boss warning her of investigating any further. Shaking her head she sighed slightly. Tapping her foot slightly she smiled as the door opened.
“Hey Bri” Letting out a breath she looked him up and down. He looked tired, beyond tired in fact, her brow furrowed. “Can I come in?” She questioned gently, her head tipping ever so slightly. She was now more worried about him than she had been before, god he looked like crap.

The days events were too much to just go home and go to bed. First the crazy events at the trial, when Walter tried to hand over the evidence that would set Brian free and got gunned down, then Dom suddenly showing up and finally both of the rescuing Walter from getting finished off by whoever it was that had been sent after him.
Without a doubt Brian had been caught up in some very serious shit that was more than he could even grasp or handle.
To clear his head he went for a long walk on the beach and tried to figure out what just happened or what would happen in the near future.
Finally he came home, exhausted, tired and hungry. He had just started to slap together a sandwich in Jack's kitchen because that was all that was available- his brother seemed to live off beer and sandwiches- when the bell rang. "Forgot your key again." he muttered assuming it was Jack but came face to face with somebody from the past. "Faye!" He stated the obvious with a clearly surprised look on his face. She seemed to look him over and then asked to come in. "Sure, you can come in but Jack isn't home. Not sure when he'll be back." He explained walking back into the kitchen. "It's nice to see you. How have you been?" He walked to the fridge to grab a can of pop and offered Faye one as well.

“I’m not here to see Jack” She stated gently stepping into the house. God it was exactly the same and she felt her heart catch in her throat. Okay so it wasn’t meant to have this much effect on her. Her and Jack were over a long time ago, so why the hell was her heart beating in her chest so rapidly, maybe it had something to do with the way things ended, and how they had never really talked things through. She didn’t need to follow him, she knew where everything was, and apart from some added stuff here and there everything was exactly as she remembered it. Shaking her head slightly she returned her full attention to Brian as they stepped into the kitchen.
Taking the offered can of pop from Brian she eased onto a stool and looked over at him with a deep sigh falling from her lips. Lifting the can to her lips she savoured the taste before focusing on Brian fully. “Iv been…good” She stated finally dark eyes flicking up to him.
“A lot better than you” She muttered with a shrug of her shoulder “I wished you would have called or something Brian, I’d have tried to figure something out, something” She stated gently. She hated how she had done as Joker had said and left Tokyo, returned back home only to find out a load of shit had happened.

It's true. He could have called her. After all it was her field. But for some reason Faye had been the last person on his mind with everything that happened. He sat down as well and look at her from tired eyes with dark circles under them. "I didn't think you could help plus I didn't really get a chance to call anybody because everything happened so fast." The opened the can and listened to the sound of the carbonation wondering what exactly Faye was referring to. "What do you know, Faye?" Then he shrugged. "It's a little late now anyway. Show is over as far as I know." Then he took a big bite out of the sluggishly put together sandwich that only had a slice of cheese and some old mustard on it. He frowned at the stale taste but still swallowed it.

Brian was exhausted, and out of sorts. He reminded her just how Joker had looked when she had seen him walk into the little café she had been in. God the shit they must have all been through, it left a bitter taste in the back of her mouth. God she should have stayed in Tokyo, done something to help them instead or running home at the drop of a hat. Truth be told though she had learned her mistake a long time ago and while she was still sticking her nose in where it shouldn’t (especially considering her boss had already warned her off investigating further) she was still looking into everything.
“I can imagine. I should have stuck around” She stated. She had known there was trouble brewing, but she had left anyway. Some family friend she was. Brushing a hand through dark locks of her hair, she eyed Brian biting the inside of her lip.
“Just what Joker let me know” She stated gently, which she prayed was everything, because if there was more god she would go crazy. “I ran into Dom as well” She stated looking over at him “Apparently Mia got him out, pulled in a family favour” Yea some favour that was turning out to be. Eyeing the sandwich slightly she frowned and slipped of the chair, moving to rummage around the fridge and cupboards.
“Trust Jack not to keep anything in, you guys need to do a shop” Actually she would do that herself later, it was the least she could do. Looking back over at Brian she smiled.
“Things are good now though….right?”

Brian didn't know why Faye took it upon herself to help him. After all it wasn't Jack who was in trouble this time but Brian and they had never been that close. She mentioned a 'joker' so Brian wrinkled his brow. "Is that what you call Walter?" So the guy had actually let her in on things. Maybe Faye even knew what was in the file that Walter dropped off at the trial today. "Did you hear about today? My trial was today. I'm not sure whether you know but Walter is the one who put together a real mess and made it look like I smuggled cars, shot some people and had drugs in my car. Damn bastard." He frowned deeply when he remembered that one fateful night that he wouldn't have survived if it wasn't for Mira. Suddenly she popped in his mind and he gasped slapping himself upside the head. "Shit, I forgot to call Mira." While he was searching for his phone that as usual wasn't on it's station he added. "Walter showed up to deliver the evidence to get me off the hook and got gunned down right there in court!" Brian tried to stay as emotionally detached as he could and soon came back with the phone in his hand.
OOC: The day we're playing: Trial in the morn, Walter shot down, taken to hospital, Brian got to go home but had a talk with Dom instead and decided to make sure Walter was fine at the hospital, where more goons were trying to kill the poor man. Him and Dom fended them off and left Walter there...this thread is set that evening.

Faye laughed gently nodding her head “We’re old friends” She stated with a small shrug of her shoulders as she watched him. Listening to his words she slowly nodded her head. It made sense, what he was saying went with what Brian was telling her.
“He told me what went down yea” She stated with a small nod of her head. SO he hadn’t left anything out, that was nice to know. She trusted him, she really did, but the past was the past and he had lied to her and kept her out of things on more than one occasion. This time though it really did look like all the cards were on the table. Good. Licking her lips she let out a deep breath her brow furrowing, he had been vague on details about what had happened to him, and she didn’t like what she was hearing.
“He told me it was the only way to get things done” She stated with a s small shrug of her shoulder “He’s always done things his way, no matter who gets caught in the cross fire” Even if that meant her. Drawing her lower lip between her teeth she slowly let out a deep breath, her dark eyes widening ever so slightly.
“Mira?” She questioned with a raise of her brow. “Now im really missing something?” She chuckled watching as he looked around for his phone. She stood up, gently placing a hand on his arm. “Maybe you should sit down and take a deep breath Bri, our all over the place”

With the phone in his hand he dialled the well known number but sat down as Faye had advised. After all he was beyond tired. Heck there were still Walters blood stains on his shirt. While the phone was ringing he loosened his tie and cursed at the thing that was much too hard to get off. Then his dress shoes went flying across the kitchen. The phone rang and rang and Brian's mood dropped more and more. "C'mon, pick up." Then it went to the voice mail so he simply stated. "I'm home now but I can't get a hold of you. Did anything happen? Call me when you get this." He hung up and then checked his cell for message but there was nothing. The fact that she didn't pick up worried him more than anything. What if she was going into labor and stuck somewhere? Why was there no message?
"Shit." He muttered under his breath and sank into his chair. When he caught Fayes wearv glance he explained. "My girlfriend." How much more was he supposed to tell her?

Brian was a hot mess there was no doubt about that, she sat there looking over at him with concern growing in her eyes. Tapping her fingers on the counter she waited for him to finish the call, but it seemed the longer he was on the phone the tighter he became, and more wound up he became. Tilting her head ever so slightly she let out a breath smiling at him. “Wow I did miss a lot” She stated with a soft laugh falling from her lips.
“Im happy for you and im sure she’s fine, us women are terrible at answering our phones” Licking her lips she took another small swallow of her coke. She was here to ask questions, but it didn’t look like Brian was in any mood to answer any more questions for the day, he looked tired and worn down and was able to sleep for a month if he was allowed.
“How about you go get changed, get a shower and ill go to the store and pick you something up so you can eat” She stated gesturing to the food in front of him “That’s not going to sustain you and I got a feeling your not going to relax until Mira is back”

Faye was being awefully nice. It almost seemed as if she was either hanging around for Jack or she had a bad conscience. Either or, Brian was too worried to be asking questions. Her offer was certainly nice.
"She usually picks up her calls when she's not working and she's been kicked off the force so that's not it." He knitted his brow trying to figure out how else to get a hold of her. Thinking out loud he added. "Either she's looking for me because I was running late because of Walter or she's gone into labor." Needless to explain more details about her pregnancy. With fingers way to fast for the small buttons Brian tried to undo them so he could change his filthy shirt. "I think I have to drive over to her place and look whether she's okay." The first button popped off leaving him frustrated. Suddenly he stopped and wondered. "Why exactly did you come here, Faye?"

Faye nodded her head, okay so maybe that was cause for concern, and Brian was more than concerned, she couldn’t blame him though, the evidence of what had happened at the court was all over his shirt and she couldn’t help the cold shiver that went down her spin. Licking her lips she bit the inside of her lip, she would never get used to the idea of Joker being shot up.
“Congratulations Brian” She stated gently, her brown eyes sparkling. She couldn’t help the spark of jealously that flared. There was no chance that she would ever have children and god if that didn’t suck ass sometimes.
“Brian you gotta calm down” She stated standing to take his hands in her own to stop him from butchering his shirt any more “I know your scared, but there could be a perfectly honest explanation here. Hell she could be sleeping, pregnant women do that” She reassured, stepping back because honestly she doubted he wanted her that close to him. Taking a seat once more she looked over at him letting out a sigh.
“I went to Tokyo Brian and Walter told me to come home so I did. Iv been out of the loop, trying to piece everything together. I came here because I wanted to make sure you were okay, to see if there was anything I could do”

Fayes words made him drop his hands from his shirt. She was right, he was too much in a flutter. So he simply pulled the bottom up and pulled the dirty shirt above his head. Before tossing it on the floor he let his eyes linger on the dark red spots for one moment remembering how the shot had torn the air and Walter, the only witness dropped to the ground. "He risked his life for me." Brian muttered. Then looking up at Faye he added with less sentiment. "I guess he owed me after messing mine up so badly. I still don't know what was in that evidence he presented. Who knows maybe I'm in jail next week." His voice started trembling at the thought. The past days had been purly nerve wrecking with the odds of him going to prison for a long time today. "It's a mircale I'm still free." He didn't have the strength to look at Faye when he thought about Mira, who might just be sleeping or in labor and he wasn't there and maybe never would be. Maybe Mira though he was already in prison? Maybe it was too much for her to handle. "Maybe she just doesn't wnat to know how it went. I guess she expected me to call right after the trial and when I didn't she probably thought it's because I'm in jail." The last words were barely audible because his voice was cracking up so bad. Why he was telling to to Faye? What was she? An open ear? A friend?

Licking her lips she swallowed slowly nodding her head, “He’s always been like that Brian. He’s always tried doing the right thing, even if he had do to something that would lose him everything” her gaze shifted down to the shirt he tossed aside, her eyes closing ever so slightly. Before all of this happened the last time she had seen Joker was when their hotel room they had been staying in was shot up. For months she hadn’t known if he was alive or dead, even though the news had reported no survivors, there had always been a little hope. She had found out eventually though. Now he was back in her life and she prayed he was staying clean this time. She knew he always lived up to his promises but there was still a feeling in the back of her head.
“Brian I cant imagine how wired you are right now, but trust me, thinking the worst is not helping you here. Mira is pregnant, therefor she has to love you, im sure nothing is wrong” She whispered softly, trying to reassure him slightly, she doubted it was working though, no the only way to reassure him now would have Mira show up at the house.
“Look I know Walter okay” God it sounded weird calling him by that, “If he risked his life to get that evidence to your trial your free and clear” Smiling up at him her dark eyes sparkled. “So take a breath and let it out Brian because soon your gonna be a father”

That Faze was adressing how much they must love each other if Mira was pregnant didn't help much but he tried to hide it by having another drink. Her next words about Walter however made sense. Why else would he risk his life? "I think he felt regrets about tearing my life apart. He wanted to do the right thing for a change." He offered Faze a weak smile and then picked up the dirty shirt. "I'll go get a different shirt and then..." Just then the phone rang and Brian leaped for it. He could hear Miras exhausted voice and immediately his heart skipped three beats. "What's going on, Mira? Where are you?" He yelled into the phone. "St. James? Downtown? I'll get there as fast as I can."
In one motion he dropped the phone with shaking hands and studdered. "She's at the hospital. I gotta go." Of course he couldn't find Jacks car keys right away. After waisting two minutes searching he ruffled his hair. "You got a car?"

“He was in a difficult position doing his job Brian” and as it turned out Brian’s life wasn’t the only he had come in and messed with, but that was the past and she wasn’t lingering on it any more. She was looking to the future and hopefully he was sticking around this time.
Whoever was on the end of the phone had Brian even more worried than before. Licking her lips she shook her head watching him ransack everything as he rummaged around for his phone. Tilting her head she nodded slightly “I came in it” She stated, grabbing her bag, and pulling her keys free. “Come on” She stated leading Brian to the car.
“And Brian word of advice calm down” She stated with a laugh. Drawing her lower lip between her teeth she looked over at him. Once he was seated in the car she pulled of and headed in the general direction of the hospital. “If you need anything Brian. Call me okay”

As soon as the car started moving Brian was content but still very nervous. "She's in the hospital. Is she having our babies now? Or could there be a different reason? False alarm maybe?" He was babbling to himself while playing with his own fingers. Then he noticed how fidgety he was and listened to Fayes words. calm down Easier said than done. He imagined being behind the wheel himself, slowly going through the same motions Faye was, anticipating each move of her foot or hand. That calmed him down enough to breath normally again. "You came just in time, Faye. Tell me a bit about yourself. What happened after Jack and you split?"

Faye looked over towards them with a raise of her brow “I dunno Bri” She stated. She didn’t know enough o even begin to give the right conclusion. Obviously she was close, but that didn’t mean she was in labour, she could simply be having a practice run. Looking over to him she kept the ride steady and kept above the speed limit, she had a feeling Brian needed that, but he did seemed to have calmed down some. Which was a good thing, the last thing Mira needed was Brian going in out of his mind with worry.
His question startled her and she shifted her gaze over towards him with a gentle sigh. “Keeping my head down” She stated gently with a small shrug of her shoulder. “Been working cases. Even got my own place” she beamed slightly, she was so proud of that fact. It wasn’t the biggest nor the best, but it was hers well not hers, but it was hers.
“I kept an eye on you guys to” Lowering her gaze slightly she sighed, before concentrating on the road “How is Jack?” She questioned flicking her gaze back over towards him.

Brian had totally forgotten that Faye was a lawyer. Otherwise he would have chosen her over the crappy one that had been assigned to him for a lack of cash. Or maybe he didn't want to pull her into this because of leon? "I wish I had had a better lawyer. Mine sucked. I swear he beleived I was guilty."
Faye changed the topic to Jack so Brian could only shrug. "Same old, I'd say. Skinny, drinks too much, works too little, has too many smart remarks but I love him for it. I'd say he's doing fine but he's not at his place a whole lot and I was pretty busy so I wouldn't have a damn clue if he wasn't good....why you still care for him?" That was blunt.
The signs were pointing the way to the hospital and Brian knew they were only minutes away so his nerves started acting up again.

Faye laughed slightly “That sounds about right” She stated with a shake of her head, most lawyers if they thought you were guilty weren’t going to pull the stops that were needed to clear your name. “You’re lucky Walter came forward with that file, otherwise no offense Brian but you would have been screwed” She stated with a shake of her head. Licking her lips she concentrated on the road for a moment, Brians question actually making her sit back and think.
“Yea I still care about him” She admitted gently “He was someone who looked past my past, he made me feel safe” When they weren’t arguing constantly, they were good together “But clearly things weren’t meant to be if Walter managed to get in between us so quickly” She shrugged a shoulder slightly. Sure she may have sounded cold but it was the truth. Licking her lips she sighed softly.
“Im happy the way I am Brian, I just hope your brother is as well” Finally the car pulled to a stop and she looked over at him.
“Be calm” She stated with a gentle laugh “And if you need something just let me know okay?” She was already planning on returning back to Jack’s but this time with bag filled with shopping, that fridge was just to bare for her liking and it was the least she could do.

"Jack's just Jack. he lives from day to day and doesn't care about much. Don't think he's with somebody though." Brian told her. "But I might be the last one to know."
When the car came to a halt he braced himself for what or who might be waiting for him inside this hospital. What was waiting at the last one wasn't so pleasant, hopefully this would be better. "Wish me luck." He gave Faye a quick kiss on the cheek and thanked her before sprinting away.
This very day could change his life in so many ways that it was hard to grasp. Fuelled by anticipation he made his way into the building.
