Faye glanced over at him with a smile. “Way I see it you can never prepare enough for the life of being a parent” Or so her friends had told her. There was never any preparing for being a parent, just a whole lot of going with it. With a nod of her head, she flicked on her indicator and turned the next corner, heading in the direction of the mall.
“Like I said Bri, there’s no rush” Reaching the Mall, she pulled her car into the closest space and together they headed inside, quickly finding the nearest baby store and heading in. God she hated places like this, filled to the brim of all the baby stuff she herself would never actually buy. Biting the inside of her lip she looked over at Brian.

the mall wasn't one of Brian's favourite places and he had only set foot in a baby store once to buy a gift. The variety of different beds, high chairs, prams, blankets and smaller things was overwhelming. So were the light blues and pinks. "Holy crap." He stated as a sales person headed their way. "How can I help you today?" She chirped. Brian had no idea where to start so he asked. "Do you have like a list of absolutley necessary things for twins?" She gave Faye a quick side glance, who was thin as a stick and asked. "So you're expecting twins?"

Faye Went wide eyed as the sales lady easily put two and two together and came up with a hundred instead of four. Raising a brow ever so slightly she shook her head, “Not me, we’re not” She shook her head as she looked over at Brian with a slight glare; trust him to get the sales women that hadn’t got two brains between them. Heaving in a breath she began looking around, god everything was so pink and blue.
“Well you’re going to need two of everything” Faye raised a brow at the sales woman, laughing ever so slightly. “Well we kinda figured that” She muttered flicking a gaze as she looked over at Brian.
“How bout you go look at cots and prams, they got some nice double ones over there” Cus Faye really needed to get away from this god damn sales lady.

The womans assumption amused Brian but it soon turned out that she was no more helpful than a snowboard in Miami. "I think I'm just going to have a look around." He thanked the woman and hoped she'd get the hint. To his delight she nodded and hurried off. With a smirk at Faye he asked. "Where are you hiding those twins in that skinny outfit?" A little more serious he added. "Why so upset, would it be so bad if I was the father of your children?" What a loaded question. The ex-cop didn't even know why he had asked it because that ultimately would mean that he'd also be her boyfriend which would never happen.

Faye couldn’t help but laugh at his words, but it didn’t quiet reach her eyes, nor did it sound as light and carefree as it normally would. Flicking her dark eyes over to him she shook her head. “If we were ever like that Brian, I would be honoured to carry your twins” But now wasn’t that just the thing, she’d never be able to, not with Brian, or Joker, or any one for that matter. God her and Joker hadn’t even had that conversation. Brushing a hand through her dark hair she tried not to let her emotions get the better of her, yea cus that’s what she needed. Heaving in a breath she purposefully ignored telling him anything else, instead heading over to one of the cots, its was beautiful, white, with blue tones.
“What do you think?” She questioned looking over at Brian.

With a look at the price tag he swallowed hard and then stated. "Holy! Can't they sleep in a laundry basket for starters." The look the sales woman shot him from the next shelf told him exactly what he thought of his joke. So Brian moved over to one of the twin beds which at least wasn't twice the price. "I think that would be better." He checked out two or three others and then nodded. "Hey, why can't they sleep in bed with us?"
He had noticed the smile on Fayes face change a little. It almost looked bitter sweet but Brian didn't know whether it was because of the twins or anything else. "Do you like shopping for baby stuff?" He asked her a little curious.

“You cant make them sleep in a laundry basket Brian, babies aren’t cheap, or so iv heard” Her own fingers found a tag and flipped It over, “Or as im finding” Shaking her head she laughed slightly, no wonder being a parent was so stressful, everything was so expensive, and from what she heard having kids was expensive as it was, add on top of that all the stuff you needed before the baby was born? Yea, stressful time, even more so considering Brian had left everything to the last minute through no fault of his own really.
Faye flicked her gaze over to Brian, “I suppose they could, but its not ideal, I mean you guys are dead on your feet you could roll over onto them” Faye shrugged a shoulder slightly eying one of the cots a small smile on her features. Looking over to Brian she let out a deep breath, she hadn’t realized the look on her face had been that obvious, she hadn’t meant for it to be. Drawing her lower lip between her teeth she contemplated shrugging the question of, but her and Brian were friends, or at least, she hoped they were still friends none the less.
“Kinda reminds me of all the crap I’m never gonna have” She shrugged a shoulder slightly. She’d had years to come to terms with it, but it was still bitter sweet and days like this still got to her.

Her words caught Brian a little off guard because Faye seemed sad because of not being able to have kids. "Is this because you can't or Walter doesn't want any?" He ask flat out without the satin gloves every body else was using when it came to this subject. "Tell me to shut up if you want me to." He gave her a genuine smile while he was still walking around to find an affordable bed. For a moment he paused when he had spotted the cheapest one and looked up at Faith waiting for an answer. "I have two, want one of mine....just kidding. Hey, I found one. I'll take two of these. 150 bucks including matress." Together they ventured on to find a pram. "Og shit." He raised his hands to his head when his saw price tags that reach over 500 dollars.

Her eyes snapped over to Brian with a raise of her brow. He was asking her questions that not many other people actually asked. He didn’t seem fazed by it either which made her smile. Normally people just stumbled over their words before they had the cuts to ask her. Not Brian though. “I can’t, honestly iv never spoken about it with him, so I wouldn’t even know if he’d want children” She supposed it was going to be a question she was going to have to ask him at some stage, she wasn’t even sure if he knew she couldn’t have children or not.
Laughing at his words she shook her head “Im good, but ill babysit anytime you need me to” She offered as she looked over at the beds he was looking at. Smiling she nodded her head “these look pretty good” she nodded her head in approval. Following him over to the prams she couldn’t help but laugh at the look on his face.
“Wait you thought having children was going to be cheap?” Shaking her head ever so slightly she checked the prices of some of the prams nearby “Buying two singles might be cheaper than buying a twin” Shrugging a shoulder ever so slightly she looked over at him with a raise of her brow. “Were they planned?” She questioned with a raise of her brow.

Her answer is open and honest without any hesitation but it still tool Brian by surprise. So that's why she was acting a little weird in this baby place but she ahd offered. "I doubt kids would suit his life style. But you should probably mention that if you guys are getting married." He grinned a little awkward. Then he became more serious when his blue eyes met her dark ones and lingered on them for a moment. "It's hard, isn't it." For a woman it must be hard not to be able to decide whether she wanted children or not. "You can babysit any time. Get a huge fill on the twins ...that'll cure any desire."
He shook his head at the price tags. "I heard they were expensive but this is...I can buy and new car for this."
Her next question is just as open as his last so he had no choice but answer truthfully. "Fair enough." He grinned. "Not planned, definetly."
Again his gaze shifted from the price tag to her. "We're not exactly ideal marriage material...I guess we'll see what happens in the future." Why was he so open with Faith?
Taking a deep breath he called for the employee and said. "I'll take two of those beds and this twin stroller. a couple of bottles and I need some clothes."

Faye bit her lip nodding her head, “He said he’s done with that” She looked over at him. She was still a little doubtful, but she hoped. “But your right, its something we’re going to have to talk about” And honestly she really didn’t want to think about telling him, let alone actually telling him. Shaking her head ever so slightly she stuffed her hands into her pockets as she followed behind Brian looking at everything. God babies needed far too much. Her dark hues flicked up to him and she slowly nodded her head. “Yea it is” She admitted gently. She had dealt with it years ago, but times like this, and seeing new born babies and happy parents always got to her.
Looking over at him she tilted her head to the side, “Do you still harbour feelings for Mia?” She questioned gently. She knew that the pair of them had something in the past, and you never forgot your first true love. If Mia was that for Brian it was going to be difficult to forget, let alone to move on from. “No better time to be thinking about the future then after having children Brian” She looked over at him smiling. If there was something that was bothering him she hoped that he would open up to her and she could help as much as possible.
Stepping over to Brian she grabbed his arm, all but pulling him in the direction of the clothes “These you have to choice yourself” She laughed shaking her head there was a variety, and she grabbed a couple of the rails holding them up to show Brian “You’re gonna need some sleep suits and vests and outfits and stuff” Taking a couple more she shoved them in his direction to show him, “It’s a shame you don’t know anyone who’s had children”

Faye had been a friend for a while but Brian never had the feeling that they were close. Today was different though. She was helping him through a rough time and no money and on top of that opening up. It felt good to have somebody to talk to who had nothing to do with all the crap that had been going on.
"I'm sorry, I don't mean to make you feel bad. I'll shut up now." He promised with a wink.
When she asked about his feelings for Mia Brian right away replied. "No." He hadn't even thought about it, yet the answer didn't seem truthful to him. If he really gave it some thought and was honest with himself he did. Mia was the woman he had wanted right from the first time he met her and she had never been completely off his mind. When she gave him the boot just because things were too complicated Brian didn't understand the world. So yes, there were still feelings. "I guess I do, actually, not all good though." He bit his lip trying to figure out how to say this. "I still like her but she's pushed me away, which I will never understand and now I have Mira."
Thankfully for the change of subject he followed her over to the large variety of clothes and browsed through some. "Which size?" He wonder and went for the smallest ones he could find. Without even looking at the price tag he grabbed a few but then spotted some with cars on them so the first ones were quickly replaced by all blue car suits. "I bet she'll like these, too. Let's go pay and then find an emergency unit on standby in case the bill gives me a heart attack." he joke while he moved over towards the sales woman.

Faye shook her head ever so slightly “Its okay iv had years to get over it” She stated gently trying to ease the guilt that Brian was clearly feeling at bringing the subject up. Had she not wanted to talk to him about it she would have just remained quiet, she had opened up to him though, so he nothing to be guilty for. Shaking her head ever so slightly she remained smiling trying to ease whatever guilt he was now feeling towards her. She hated that. When people found out she hated the guilt or the pity that they felt when they looked in her direction, it was why she tended to remain quiet about it.
Fayes brow quirked at his quick reply to not having feelings for Mia, she didn’t buy it, not by a long shot. She had been there and done that with Walter in the past. Her brother had pulled the, do you still care card and she had been just as quick to dismiss the idea. She wasn’t about to call Brian on it though, she had dodged questions often enough to know when someone didn’t want to talk about something. “Alright” She muttered with a small nod of her head, she’d just leave it at that. Looking over at him as he quickly changed his mind he nodded her head. “Understandable Brian, the pair of you have history that didn’t end the way it should have” Laughing ever so slightly she shook her head.
“Im sorry Brian” Biting the inside of her lips he let out a huff of air. “You lied to her about who you were, you went into her family ready to send her brother to jail. You came out with the truth only because you had to, she’s going to be a little tense around you” Looking over at him she offered him a smile, “And she probably still has feelings for you which is why shes pushing you away”
Heading over to the clothes rail she handed him the ones that she had chosen as well as the ones he had chosen with a smile, “Are you and Mira serious Bri, I mean I know you have children with her, but do you see yourself with her?” She questioned gently. With a nod they headed over to the cash register and tried strong arming Brian out of the way so he wouldn’t see, nor hear the amount of money it had come to, she herself didn’t even bother listening just handed over her card and that was that.
“Ill have everything delivered to the new address” She flicked her gaze over at Brian, “So where to?”

Brian's guilt quickly vanished when Faye decided to tell him all the stuff he had done wrong to his first true love. Being reminded that he had treated her in the worst ways wasn't a find memory so his own smile vanished. "Thanks for reminding me of that. I'm pretty sure Mia is over that. Seven years have passed since then and she decided she wanted to be with me." For a moment he wondered whether Faye could be right but came to the conclusion. "No, it had something to do with Dom being in jail again. She had a rough time and pushed everybody away." He realized how much he was still talking and thinking about here when his world had just turned 180 degrees. "Let's change the subject, okay?"
Together they walked to the check out and lined up all the stuff that he wanted to buy. After ringing everything through the bill came to over 700 dollars. "Holy shit." Brian gapsed because he was damn sure there wasn't that much in his bank account. "Can I take you up on your offer now, Faith?"

Faye frowned ever so slightly, she honestly hadn’t meant to come over so harsh, but it was the truth. “Brian no offense but you’d be surprised how long women hold grudges Brian” She smiled over at him, hoping it would make up for her earlier harsh words. She doubted it but she was at least trying. Looking over to him Faye folded her arms over her chest, biting the inside of her lip as she looked to him “You still love her don’t you” It wasn’t a question more a statement of fact. It was all over his features when he spoke about here, there was this softness to his tone when he spoke of Mia, which was nothing like when he spoke of Mira.
Laughing and rolling her eyes at Brian she handed her card over to the woman behind the till “I did say id get you this stuff” Taking her card back and slipping it into her purse she quickly wrote down the address that most of the stuff would be delivered to. Stepping out of the store she looked over to Brian with a slight quirk of her brow. “So when are they coming home?” She questioned looking to him with a small smile on her features. “Because no offense Brian staying with Mira because she’s just given birth isn’t going to make a good relationship for the kids” Brushings a hand through her hair she shook her head ever so slightly.
“You gotta be sure what you want otherwise your gonna start resenting each other”
