After two days prepping for the race against Cole, Bruno drove to the race scene. As he pulled up people started staring at his car and chatting. He kept driving until he found a parking spot and pulled right into it. He sat in his car for a bit before stepped out of the car. As he opened the door and stepped out he noticed he was getting stares. As he leaned against his car a young kid, probably sixteen to seventeen of age, walked up and asked "Are you Bruno von Hausenburge?" Bruno looked at the kid and said "Ja, I'm Bruno von Hausenburge. Let see you vant a Autograph?" The kid looks at him and in full of cheer said, "Yes please." Bruno pulls out a pin and a picture of him out of his car and signs his name on the picture and hands it to the kid. The kid smiles and runs back to his car where his friends were standing yelling "I got Bruno von Hausenburges Autograph."
After everyone heard that they all start gathering around Bruno, like he was a new monument. He then began signing autographs and taking pictures with the people there.

Although getting the car had been a bit of a process, Cole finally brought home a borrowed Maserati MC12 Corsa, which in short was the racing version of the normal Maserati supercar. It was pretty badass to say the least, also extremely expensive, so Cole practically had the thing resting on pillows in his garage. Was it really a good idea to take that car out on the streets and race, especially when its not even his? Probably not, but he was too deep in this to back out now, not to mention he was seriously itching for the chance to take his old rival down. The journey there was a little hazardous in the race car, as he had to make sure he avoided any cops and basically any surface that wasn't smooth as glass, but eventually he got there. And man did he get some strange looks when he rolled into the lot. He saw Bruno in the distance with an apparent crowd around him, perfect. So he steadily rolled his way over to his BMW, the ferrari V12 in the back making its presence known, and backed into a spot right next to the M3, giving the MC12 a little rev before shutting it down. He stepped out of the car with a little smirk on his face. "You ready to throw down or what?"

Bruno looked up when he heard Cole's voice and smiled. "I'm ready when you are." Bruno said. He turned around and started up his car. He sat in his car for a bit before driving to the starting line. He waited for Cole to drive up. As he waited he handed the race director his money, 50 grand. I hope Cole loves the bitter taste of defeat Bruno said smiling viciously.

The surrounding crowd grew in excitement as Bruno made his challenge to Cole. "I'm always ready." He smirked and strapped himself in the car. He glided the car over to the start and gave up his respective 50k. He was more ready than ever for this race, it was his one opportunity to prove to others and to himself that he was still a pro-caliber driver.
The race director walked off and exchanged places with the starting girl. Cole gave the Maserati's V12 a nasty rev that cracked open the air around it. The starter raised her arms to ready the two drivers, and Cole brought the RPM's up to 6,000, foot easing off the clutch ever so slightly in anticipation. Finally her arms dropped and the two race-bred machines bolted off the line.

As the grid Girls arms dropped, Bruno floored it and off he went. As the two cars sped down the road looking evenly matched, Bruno noticed the first turn. He began to slow down and went to the outside. He then turned into it and at high speed. As he came out of the turn, he checked to see if Cole was still right behind him, which he was. but instead of being far behind he was extremely close. which made Bruno sweat. It has been along time since I drove against Cole and his ability to keep up is astounding Bruno thought.

Cole was immediately reminded that he was going up against a professional, and not some racer-wannabe, when they cleared the first corner. Damn that guy was good, he knew he had to bring up his own level to match Bruno's.
Cole spent the next few corners observing Bruno's line and where his slowest and fastest spots were compared to him. Finally, near the end of the first lap, Cole decided to try a fake out, and darted the Maserati to the outside under heavy braking for the corner and then cut back to the inside. The tires squealed in protest of their limits, but Cole held the rear of the car within a millimeter of the tire breaking traction and brought the MC12 side by side with the M3. As a result, they finished the first lap almost dead even. "Come on man, whatcha got." He said as they sped into the first corner of the second lap.

"Nice moves, Cole, but your still not going to pass." Bruno said to himself. As the came up on the first corner again, Bruno aggressively entered the corner. As he entered he then braked but leaving enough speed to exit the turn at full speed. As he did this he came inches away from hitting the wall with his mirror. This maneuver slowed him down more than he realized. Damn need to be more careful this is not a normal circuit race and now I have to make up my lost time Bruno thought to himself. So to make up for lost time Bruno hit the next turn like a true racer of the circuits: Slow in, Fast out.

Bruno's mistake opened the door for Cole, and so he hugged the inside of the corner and aggressively applied throttle as the corner opened up. He could feel rear tires on the edge of the grip limit as he tip-toed with what little grip there was left in the tires to clear Bruno's BMW.
He grabbed another gear before downshifting once for the next corner, seeing that Bruno wasn't doing an aggressive entry, he backed up the entry himself to get the Maserati pointed to the apex and off the turn with maximum speed. They spent the next handful of corners playing a mental game of cat and mouse, Cole watching Bruno's habits in his mirror every corner.

Bruno was two car lengths behind from Cole but was catching up. As they both entered the last turn before the line Bruno caught up and began drafting Cole. Bruno crossed the line right behind Cole starting the third lap. As the drove on the straight away Bruno slingshot around Cole on the outside but had to slow down before entering the first corner of the race. So Bruno slipped behind Cole again and drafted him through the corner. Bruno drafted Cole through the next two corners.

Cole ran a mildly defensive line, making sure not to give that M3 behind him any easy opportunities. Unfortunately for him, Bruno managed to stay in his draft, making it extremely difficult to build any cushion. He was already on the verge of the car's limits, he couldn't afford crossing the line on those limits and slipping up an opening.
They remained bumper to bumper as they crossed the line for the forth lap, one more to go. On the straight before the first corner, Cole settled himself mentally as he grabbed another gear before getting hard on the brakes, easing over to the inside to discourage any move from Bruno. He got the car to the apex and got back to the gas somewhat aggressively causing the rear of the MC12 to wiggle a bit on the exit, he managed it though and set his sights for the next handful of corners.

Coming out of that last turn Bruno watched Cole's rear wheels fish tail a little and this gave Bruno the chance he needed. So Bruno shifted up out of the turn and floored it speeding past Cole. But Bruno realized that they were on the fourth lap. One more lap Bruno said to himself. As Cole and Bruno drove through each corner with Bruno in the front and on the last corner before the line to start the fifth lap, Bruno decided to slow down a so Cole could pass. Bruno had a plan to win this.

His small mistake did end up costing him, as Bruno managed to set him up and take advantage. Nonetheless, Cole knew his line reasonably well, so he was confident he could find some way past. He didn't exactly anticipate Bruno's M3 suddenly slowing up as if he had a problem, and consequently Cole nearly rear ended him on the exit, but barely squeaked by him and took the lead as they entered the last lap. He glanced in his mirrors to see if Bruno had a mechanical failure or if he was still trailing. He was still there. "Odd." Cole thought to himself. He went back to running a semi-defensive line, making sure to be rock solid on hitting his marks as he couldn't afford to make another mistake. Every upshift and downshift, every braking point, every apex, he went through each one at a time assuring that he wouldn't overdrive the car and cost himself the race. Three corners left, that was all that separated him from victory. OOC: Make one more post to finish us up, then we'll have Brian step in

Bruno drafted behind Cole as they entered the last lap. Bruno followed Cole through each turn and every apex. There were three more corners left until the finish and Bruno drafted Cole through all three turns. As they came up on to the straight to the finish line Bruno then slingshot around Cole. Bruno drove side by side with Cole before crossing the line.

First of all: I'm very sorry you two that it has taken me so long...i have no excuse! So you asked me to decide who will win this race based on writing skills as well as technical descriptions.
I've considered: Length of sentences, structure of sentences, switching of tenses (Bruno did in his first two posts), repetition of expressions or words and then finally technical terms. Based on all that I declare Cole the winner of this race....although I'm not sure how fair this is since he's a real life racers and native English speaker. But you ask, so there you are.
Cole's license plated crossed the line a split second before Bruno's did leaving the crowd stunned and some jaws hitting the tarmac;-)

As the two supercars crossed the line, Cole had no clue who's inched in front of the other, he seriously thought it might have been another tie. Only when he rolled the MC12 back over to the lot was he told that he got the BMW by a nose according to the race director. A sense of joy but also relief came over him, as it would be tough to sleep that night if he's old rival managed to beat him. Nonetheless, it was one of the greatest races he'd ever been in since he stopped driving professionally.
He carefully backed the priceless Italian exotic into his original space next to Bruno's space. Funny how he was so careful with it now, but probably would've ripped the fenders off the car to win the race if he had to. He climbed out of the car sweaty but somewhat dignified, and watched as Bruno did the same. "Good race, bro." He extended his hand towards the German.
