Present day
I remember, even now after all these years. The end of the world was something no one expected. There was warning, no reason, one day the world just stoped. Hell it self rained around us, everything we had once taken for advantage turned their back on us.
For so long we were forced to exist, learning to survive on what the eath gave us, we took shelter were we could, killed to survive, looted and scavanged. It wasnt easy, it wasnt fun and it wasnt much but we were surviving. We were winning, prooving we deserved to live among the earth. But it didnt last, our planet had one last test for us to pravail.
The very darkest and crulest legend rose from the darkness, it swept through the night, silently and without mercy. They killed, sensessly and without remorse, more blood was spilled that night then any other, screams had filled the air, terror and pain were rife, it suffocated us as we scrambled for the underground looking for shelter. It wasnt enough, the more they took the stronger they became, the more we lost.
Soon the screams fell silent, we split up then, taking the streets in small groups, following the underground tunnels, but it wasnt enough, our saftey was soon shattered. This time when they came for us, it was not to kill, it was to feed. We went from humans to slaves, used for our bloods, we became their donors.
I prayed for death so many times when they caught me, stuck in the middle of a rat infested, i prayed, this was no life, i could hear the others scream, begging for a quick death. It never came. I prayed for saviour and it came in the most unlikelest place.
This is our story, a story of survival, of the human race risning above and taking stand, fighting for our planet. A story of how a simple human went from slave to the leader of the human resistance. But even now, these many years later, i still pray for the sweet release of death.
