Spain. A truly beautiful country and one that Mac had always enjoyed visiting in the past. With its rolling hills and ocean crested coasts, it offered breath taking views and soothing breezes for the soul. Something that she'd appreciated in the past when traveling with Quinn or one of the team but this trip.. This trip was different. This trip would offer none of those things as it was for business, not pleasure.
Lucky, lucky her, the ebony haired beauty thought wryly as she stepped out of her car and then shifted a glance around behind dark aviator shades. Dressed in a form hugging black dress and kitten heels, the young woman forced a stiff smile to her delicate features as the valet came to take her keys and then made her way into the ancient relic of a building where the auction was to take place. A line had begun to form and, as she waited, she let her dark gaze take in those gathered, mentally putting them all into neat compartments and tagging them as harmless. If trouble erupted later, she had no worries she'd be able to get out without any of these fools causing her issues.
Then, she was at the door. As Quinn Andreas's representative, her invite passed with flying colors and then she was stepping inside, blending with the rich dredges of society even as she mentally curled her lips at them all. What a waste, she thought silently even as she plucked a flute of champagne up from a passing waiter and made her way to take up residence against a tall column.
Scanning the crowd idly, she shook her head at the foolishness of the upper realms of the rich, wasting their time pursuing things that had no meaning at the end of the day. Did they ever feel anything like passion or the need for an adrenaline rush? They were all so politically correct, she'd have wagered that they still screwed their wives in the dark. Come to think of it, she thought, they probably had to due to some of the cow faced blue bloods that mingled in the group.
Hearing someone clear their throat, MacKenzie shifted her attention to the podium and the object sat beside him in a glass case. Even from here, she could see the various security measures taken to ensure the jade statues safety and smirked. If what Quinn suspected was true, it wasn't the statue itself that needed to be protected. All the remained to be seen was if their mark would show his face and take the bait. With the staggering amount of money this auction was rumored to be bringing in, they were hoping their modern day Robin Hood wouldn't be able to resist.
