Faye shot Brian a look before turning to Walter. "Okay then, on to far less depressing topics"She laughed, leaning foroward to grab some water so that Vodka wouldnt hit her to hard. She shot Walter a smile and shifted her postion so she was slightly closer to him, she had seen the flash of pain in his wether anyone else had.

brian knew exactly where Walter was coming from even though it was to a lesser degree. he hadn't been married to Leon and he wasn't really trying to kill him. With a quick look at Faye he replied. "I know exactly what you mean. Once somebody close pushes a knive in your gutts the relationship suffers." He downed the rest of his beer wondering jow long it would take to get opver that.

Faye swallowed as she looked down at the drink in her hand, instantly regretting the change of drink, she should have just stuck to vodka. She smiled over at Brian, Leon hadnt attacked her, but she felt it just as much, her relationship with her brother had been broken, more then any of them had realized by his one simple act in prisson.

"Eh, life goes on though. Well mine did anyways." He lifted another brew up, "Slant'ja!" He said the irish word for Cheers again an dwned the glass. "So on to better and brighter things? What you running at the race's Brian?" He asked wondering just what car Brian used.

Brian had noticed Faye's expression and regretted making a remark about her brother. Grateful for the change of subject he answered. "Nissan Skyline GT-R, it's the only one I own right now. Hasn't let me down yet." He waved for the waitress and asked. "What about you?"

"That Mustang you saw at the diner, then a Viper GTS Venom. Not going to say my time on the Mustang and that Viper is the only vehicle with enough torque I've seen to shred it's own wheels." He laughed and nodded across the road at the matte black Fastback.

Brian raised an eyebrow. "How do you make that much money?" He wondered. "So you race? I've never seen you before and I hit the races quite a bit...except for maybe the past 4 months."

"Most the time I run close track race's also I havn't been in the states for a very long time." He smiled, the amount of money he made or aquired in missions never really was spent till they had leave and being in a war zone you never really got leave. He shrugged visually. "It's not what you make it's what you spend."

Brian ordered a Jack and coke and remarked. "Well, you gotta earn some dough to spend it." With a look at Jack he raised his eyebrow. "Right, bro?"
Then he looked back at Walter. He hadn't quite figured the guy out and wasn't sure whether to like him or not. "So would you do a quarter mile?"

Faye watched between the three men, there was still that im better then you attitude going around, she shook her head, she didnt understand why men did that, why they couldnt just get along, suck it up, and move on, no they had to sit and fight it out, proove they were better.
She let out a little laugh, half hiding it in the glass of vodka in her hand.

Jack raised both his thumbs at Brian's comment and shot him an overly sarcastic grin combined with a wink. It was no secret to his brother he'd written a couple of bounced checks here and there and needed to be bailed out financially from less than pleasant situations more than once in his somewhat younger days. Not that he was all that more wiser now...
"Are you really that eager to get your ass kicked again? Maybe you wanna start asking grannies to race you, you might actually stand a chance than." He smirked while he placed a hand on Faye's thigh, giving it a soft squeeze. He had felt a strange mixture of plain amusement, some pride and even slight disappointed the night Faye smoked his brother in a fair run. He always thought Brian had a little more up his sleeve.

Jack's comment clearly implied that brian had lost to Faye fair in square and he didn't like it one bit. Especially not being mocked about it when he'd tried to be a fair looser. He shot him an angry glare ready to get up and take it outside. "Shut your big trap, Jack." The alcohol in his system celarly lowered his tolerance for his brother's crap and he didn't care who was watching.

"Oooh, my big trap?" Jack could only smirk wider at the angry glare and words being shot his way until it changed in to a grin when he turned his right cheek toward Brian and tapped it with his index finger. "If you want to let off some of that building anger and frustration, right here, bro. Take your best shot."
Even as a kid he never was impressed by Brian's threatening glares, words or whatever else was thrown at him, even though he'd received quite a few harsh beatings for his constant baiting and provoking. He just never did seem to learn from the consequences or maybe he was just a bit of a masochist sometimes.

Brian watched Jack's stupid behaviour with a mixture of anger, amusement and alcohol in his system. Then he turned his head towards Faye and stated. "Hope you don't mind." A second later his flat hand left a nice, big print on the cheek Jack had pointed at. "There you go, smartass." He grabbed his glass and took a long swag.

Jack's mouth fell open at both shock and the burn running through his cheek while he touched it with his finger tips. Yeah, he had literally asked for it, but this wasn't really all that funny. "Shit, bro. You bitch."
He was half tempted to throw a nice whack back, but instead resorted to a below table semi-hard kick against Brian's shin while he grabbed his own glass, acting like nothing was going on, yet all the while shooting his brother a smirk.

Briefly Brian flinched when Jack's boot met his shin and pulled it back. Then he broke out in laughter about Jack's confused look. "Bitch? You crack me up." He laughed out loud and then finished the rest of his beer toasting Jack. "You're the best little brother I can imagine. My life would be so normal without you!" Despite all the talks he always gave Jack he loved him to bits and somewhat admired him for his don't-give-a-fuck attitude wishing that he himself could be a little more like that.

Jack raised his middle finger to Brian, though the smirk on his face said his mood hadn't dropped, at least not much, despite his still reddening cheek. "Wish I could say the same about you, big bro."
He shook his head in a dismissive manner and drank the last of his beer before he moved on to something stronger. Jack drinking Jack was kind of ironic, but since when should he care.
"I have to say though, I'm glad you admit you're just plain boring without me. Takes a lot of courage to acknowledge such things about yourself openly." He grinned and gave Brian a friendly slap on the shoulder. He wouldn't be half as entertained if he didn't have his older brother around to banter with from time to time.

Walter watched the scene happen in passive amusement, he pulled another Guiness from the ice bucket on the middle of the table and popped the top. The cold dark brew tasted so good in the evening sun, it was like drinking pure cocoa. He licked his lips as the creamy head began to drip a bit. "You guys are a riot, now lighten up. We only live once and trying to kill each other over a few words is a bit pointless." He laughed and raised his bottle, "So, to new friends?"

"Right." Brian pushed his own glass against Walter's bottle even though he was a bit upset about Jack's reply. He'd just given the guy a compliment and all he got was another smart remark. The tingling sensation in the back of his head and next told him to slow it down a bit. But what the heck. "You live only once." He tipped his head back and let the smooth ale run into his throat.

Jack could see the flash of disappointment on Brian's face and couldn't help the laugh that escaped him. When was his brother going to finally learn that he was no good in the compliments department unless a situation required him to be. "Aww, come on, bro. Don't be such a sourpuss. You know I worship you like the awesome big brother you are, huh?"
He turned his attention to Walter, raising an eyebrow at the 'new friends' comment before he lifted his own drink with a shrug. "Whatever you say, dude. Cheers."
