Three days after the wedding Brian had spent the morning at the garage but decided to take Letty out for lunch. He had noticed that she seemed a little off and wondered whether she would let him in. So around lunchtime he rang the bell of the apartment building hoping she'd be home.

After the wedding Letty allowed herself to drown in work so she wouldn't have to think of Dom. Some images of the family from that event were still craved in her mind, like frozen stills. They floated in her mind from time to time, especially when she tried to ignore them.
She was watching TV and eating ice cream with a spoon from a huge Ben & Jerry's plastic cup. This was nothing like her, but she was mourning in a way. Suddenly, the bell rang, which made Letty jump in her seat. She had no idea who could it be, so she slowly placed the cup on her nightstand and walked towards the front door.
As her hand reached for the handle, she noticed the old oil stains on the back of her hand. But she didn't care much, she assumed it was just a neighbor or something. "Brian!" she called out as soon as her eyes met the blond man on the doorway. "Come on in. Whats up?" she offered immediately, turning her head inward to examine her own mess.

Even though Letty sounded cheerful when she spotted him Brian saw that she looked a little different. Especially circles under her eyes gave away that she wasn't getting much sleep. Brian stepped inside and pulled her into a quick hug. Something that he never would have done a while ago but since Letty had come back he had made it a habit. "I was wondering whether your fridge is as empty as ours. I gotta do some shopping but I figured you might have a beer in there."

When Brian pulled her into a quick hug, the short brunette just tapped her right hand on his shoulder and smiled to herself. It was nice knowing she was in the arms of someone who'd always care for her.
"It is pretty empty actually." Letty smirked awkwardly and hunted towards the sofa in the living room. "But I'm never running out of Coronas." she added and disappeared in the hallway. She entered the kitchen quickly and took a couple of yellow bottles from the fridge's inner door. Letty opened the first drawer and took a pin-opener, she opened the glassy bottles skillfully and then returned to the living room.
"So whats up? How's everybody doing?" she asked and served him one of the chilly bottles.

Brian received it thankfully. It was a warm day and a cold beer was never wrong anyway. He took a long swag and obviously enjoyed it. "Oh, everybody's fine but I just had to get out of there. I need a break for a little bit so I offered to get the groceries." He smiled lopsided at the thought of poopy diapers and belly aches. "Don't get me wrong. i can never get enough of Tyler but I can definetly get enough of being puked on and changing shitty diapers." he explained motioning to a white stain on his black t-shirt.
"And what about you. I haven't seen you around...or Dom. What's going on?"It was a very direct question. Why would he try to bullshit Letty?

Letty examined the stain on Brian's shoulder while listening to him complaining about the daily duties of being a father. She just shook her head in response and fought off a crazy laugh that threatened to burst. Dada Brian, it was crazy indeed. But Letty had no doubt that Mia, Brian and Tyler were going to live the American dream to the fullest. When they were together, they looked like a perfect picture.
When Brian brought up Dom's name, Letty squirmed uncomfortably. A part of her sub-conscious saw that one coming, but she didn't realize how tense she was until Brian actually pronounced his name.
"Dom..." Letty sighed. She didn't know where to start, and she was afraid Brian wouldn't understand. As close as the team was, Letty and Dominic always had a complex, very unique relationship. They spoke their own language, and when they were together, there was just this weird chemistry that happened only between them. "Wait, he didn't tell you?" She asked suspiciously, thinking that she should know how Dom defined "this situation" first.

Brian got an uneasy feeling when he heard her words. Tell me? That didn't sound good. "No, tell me what?" He wondered. "I noticed you two weren't so...I haven't seen you together." It was obvious that the subject made his friend tense up. "You don't have to tell me." With the beer in his hand he sat down in an old arm chair and let his gaze wander around. "Comfy."

The awkwardness that Brian displayed when he lied back in his chair made Letty burst into an echoing laughter. "You're such a moron, O'conner." she mocked him and took a swing from her own beer.
Slowly, the smile begun to fade and a sad spark of sadness seemed to suck the life from her face. She shook her head a couple of times and gave Brian a trusting look. "Nah, I do. I want to tell you." She confessed. She knew she could always trust Brian, the guy drove down to fucking Mexico to kidnap her back across the border.
"Just want to make sure this conversation stays between the two of us." She whispered seriously, her voice deep and dark.

Brian expression adapted to hers...more serious he leaned forward and listened intently. "No problem." he nodded. if Letty was going to confide in him he had to be trustworthy. Things between them had changed quite a bit in the last year. Brian never thought she'd ever consider him a friend. "Problems?"
