A temper tantrum was in full swing, stamping feet pouted lips hissing words. Right now this looked like a six on the hurricane Carina scale. Thankfully for those around her no one was feeding the fire, saying the wrong thing infact no one was saying anything. It appeared as though they just hoped that the curvy colombian would run out of steam.

Her chocolate eyes flashed golden in her ire, sparkling with fake tears. The leggy female through her $3,000 handbag across the assessment room. Crossing her arms over her chest, her head flicks between each person in the room. Her current documents listed Carter as the person to contact in the event of an emergency. Carina however knowing that he'd likely be pissed at her for what she did to one of his cars had insisted on Nina being called as well.

The young heartbreaker knew Carter wouldn't roar at her in front of her sister. He was still trying to stay in Nina's good graces, besides it was his fault that the tyres on his car weren't up to code. The doctor had suggested very vehemenently that Carina remain in overnight for observation. An accident such as that she was lucky to be alive let alone walk away unscathed, they just wanted to be sure.

Carina: I don't want to stay here, look at the place the bedsheets probably have lice.

The spoilt princess pouted ignoring the doctors attempt to intecede on behalf of their hospital. Her eyes meet with her sister's.

Carina: I don't like hospitals Na, tell them i don't have to stay here please.

Watching her sister's face soften Carina then turned to work on the man whose neglect of his car was responsible for putting her here.

Carina: Carter your a man, you understand the real reason they want to keep me in here, look at the type of people in that waiting room and tell me i'd be safe here.

Nina had gotten the call that she had been dreading since she had found out that her sister was in LA, it had taken her all but five minuets to find someone to take her daughter in for her, and then another ten to break every spead limit to get to the hospital, when she had arrived, said 'serious' car accident, which had her worrying and invisioning all sorts of things happening to her sister, turned out to be a whole load of nothing, her sister was fine, not a scratch on her, things however turned wrong the second Carter and the docotor had walked in the room, suggesting that said woman stay in for observation.

Sighing Nina shook her head as her sister turned her fake tear stainted face towards her, lowering her gaze she shared a look with Carter for a moment, licking her lips she folded her arms over her chest half of her wanted to agree with her sister, but the doctor was looking at her with those pleading eyes, obviously the observation was needed. Knowing that her next words were only going to enrage her sister more she stepped a little closer to Carter knowing he would back her up on the situation.

"Car, if the doctor says you need to stay for observation you need to stay for observation"

Carter had walked into the hospital like he ownded the place, the only time his step had falterd was when Nina had walkd down the hallway, her dark hair bouncing around her shoulders, she looked tired and worn, something he hadnt seen on her in a long time, shaking hsi head he followed her into the room his angry eyes turning onto Carinia, who not only stole one of his cars, but proceaded to wreack said car, did she not realize the car was worth a hell of a lot of money and needed repairing before it was road ready.

He listened and watched her get angrier by the second and shook his head, Nina's words shocking him, he turned ice blue eyes onto her, he had half expected her to side with Carinia not the doctor. Somehow his arm found its way around her waist when she stepped closer to him and he smiled as he felt her rest her head agasint his shoulder.

"Your sister is right, we'll have you transfered somewhere private if you'd prefer, but you are stopping over night"

The pouting petulant princess turned angry eyes on the pair of them. This was not the way she envisaged this going. At least one of them was meant to be on her side. Her sister was supposed to be on her side. Carter she could normally play like a violin, anything for a quiet life, but now he chose to play the concerned legitimate parental figure. Why all because he was trying to convince Nina he'd turned a new leaf.

Angry, hurt and upset the young woman shook her head, throwing her mane of long chocolate locks across her face. The action alone caused her head to spin but stubbornly she refused to show it. The door was right there and she was grown damn it. It was only a few short steps. Shooting her sister a hurt look, she's half minded to ignore the other woman. Turning her injured look upon her godfather she huffs.

Carina: Some gaurdian you are, I end up in here because you don't know how to look after your cars. Now you want me to stay here, where they let any creature in off the street, where the doctors look like they should be signing on the sex offenders register. If anything and i mean anything happens to me in here i'll never speak to either of you again.

Taking in the image the pair of them present, it looks both cute and sickening to the younger female all at once. She's half mind to take a photograph of the intimate pose the two find themselves in and show it to Nina's mechanic.

Carina: If i have to stay here i want somewhere private, with locks on the inside of the doors.

The poor doctor looks half relieved and half exasperated. Almost as though he can tell Carina has every intention of simply locking the doctors out which would defeat the point of observation.

Carter rolled his eyes, he could not understand why she was acting the way she was, Nina had come from the same parents and yet she was perfectly fine and would never dream of throwing a hissy fit over staying in a hospital over night for an observation or not. He shook his head, fingers moveing softly into the small of her back.

"That car wasnt road worthy Carinia that was why it wasnt in the garage, she was waiting to be fixed, if you had spoke to me instead of leaving in a huff you would have realized that"He stated calmy, the young woman could grate on his last nerve sometimes, rolling his eyes he just turned his gaze onto the doctor and with a nod of his head he offered him a tight smile.

"Could you order the transfer papers, for a private room"He questioned with a raised brow as. The doctor nodded his head, hurrying from the room with a releived expression and Carter turned his ice blue gaze onto Carinia.

When Taeshawn had stepped out of the private G4 the first thing that had struck him was the LA heat. The second was the voice of his associate and what precisely it was telling him. His girl, his precious princess was in a hospital. So god forsaken sterile environment because of a car accident. Admittedly he knew about the accident but the idea she was in a hospital didn't sit well with the powerful new yorker.

So it was with a sense of urgency that Taeshawn entered the facility. Everything about him was carefully crafted to portrait power. From the black silk button down with it's sleeves rolled up, to the savile row tailored cream slacks and italian loafers right up to the three carat diamond that sparkled in his ear. Like a celebrity the man could pull off wearing his shades indoors and he did. Mainly because there dark black lenses hid the fact he was scoping out the nurses as they passed.

The young man is about to stop and ask where he can find Cari when he hears her for himself. Hurricane Carina is in full flow, he knows why she hates hospitals, even if the idiots in there don't. He made it his business to know almost everything about her. He'd leant against the doorframe listening and almost laughing, then as the doctor exited the room he seized the oppurtunity to enter it.

The sight that met him wrenched at his hard heart, she'd finally surrendered to the fact she had to stay. Sat on the bed knees drawn up chin resting upon them. Frightened eyes peering over at the other two in the room. They have their back to him, Carina is to lost in thought to notice him.

Carina: People get sent to stay in hospital to die.

It was stupid it was irrational, but his girl had been raised in a country where the hospitals weren't exactly up to much. As young as she is she's lost so many friends and associates when they've entered hospital. It's then he chooses to speak, his deep voice smooth like honey on the ears as he speaks.

Taeshawn: Your not Esperanza Cari. You'll be fine, but if you really don't want to stay you can come with me baby.

All three heads whip toward him, Carina's face torn between joy anger and hurt. He can't help but hate the fact he's the reason for the hurt in her features. The other woman who he assumes to be Nina looks hella confused and well Taeshawn doesn't even bother looking at Carter because he can guess the man will be pissed to see him without even having to look.

You see Reyes and his associates seemed to think Taeshawn was a great business associate and even something of a friend but he'd never be good enough for Carina. Fact was though he was Carina's choice.

Carter heard the all to familair voice and turned ice blue eyes on him, the only thing stopping him from launching himself at the other man was the woman still wrapped in his arms, he glared angrily over at him, how dare he, of all people underminded his authority. With more ease in his tone then he actually felt he addressed his buissness partner, his soon to be ex buissness partner if he carried on the way he was.

"Carinia is being moved to a private ward and she will stay there" He stated easily, his eyes the only thing letting the other man know just how annoyed and pissed of he was, at the sheer site of him. He shouldnt have been there, he had been told to stay away, to go and mess about with someone elses head, but no, here he was, stood in front of his god daughter, heven help him if her father ever found out about this.

"I mean it Carina, your staying here" He softened his gaze as he looked at the frightend woman in front of him, he had been there for her when she had lost her friends, he had watched her break only to pick herself back up again, he knew her fears but she had to overcome the,

"Ill stay here if it makes you feel any better"He assured, and they all knew that with him in the room, or near the room there was no chance of anything happening to any of his woman.

Hearing that honey like voice with it's occasional sharp New York twang was a shock to her system that the colombian could have done without. At first she was delighted that he was here and then she recalled the circumstances of her accident. She'd taken Carter's car because she was quite sure he had something to do with the very 'heartfelt' break up letter she recieved. Not a phone call or an in person break up a lovely letter detailing how she deserved so much better.

Her father and Carter had definitely had something to do with that realisation. As it was though she could blame Tae for his part in the accident also, it was his fault her mind wasn't on the road. His fault that she wasn't concentrating enough to handle the blow out of the tyre. Part of her wanted to tell him to leave. That sexy smile and the smouldering eyes she knew to be hidden behind those sunglasses were not helping her resolve though.

Instead the pair share a look, one that says shut up and we'll talk later. The two had gotten very good at understanding eachother's pointed looks, but that came from hiding their relationship whenever she visited New York or he visited her father's home in colombia.

The brown eyed beauty turned instead to her godfather a genuine smile on her lips. She could hear the concern and sympathy in his voice even if it was hidden from most others. She'd grown up around him, he was a pretty much permanent fixture in her life. She couldn't take him up on the offer though. Partly because she wanted to speak to her lover, which would not happen if he were present. The other reason, tonight was the night Alyvia stayed over the house.

Carina: Isn't tonight your night with Alyvia? I'll be fine on my own, i was just being paranoid. Go be with your daughter, your always saying you never see her often enough. Tonight is like the highlight of your week Carter.

Carter eyed both Carina and Taeshawn, he had seen the subtle look between the two of them, and knew exactly what Carina was doing, he didnt get where he was by not seeing things, reading people, and as far as he was concerned as long as the infomation didnt get back to her father she could do what the hell she liked.

Ninas eyes were creased in conffusion and slight worry, with a reassuring smile in her direction, he shifted from her side, dropping a kiss to the top of her head, his gaze sparkling as he looked at her, even now she never failed to fake his breath away. His blue gaze flicked over to Carina hearing her words and seeing the shock on Nina's face. "Yea it is"He muttered, dropping a kiss to the top of Nina's head.

"You two go wait outside"He stated, softly, more for Ninas benift then Taeshawn's "I want to speak with my god daughter" WHen the two of them had nodded their head and left them alone in the room he turned towards Carina.

"You do what you want Carina if he makes you happy"Carter smiled, if any one of his men heard him speaking this way he would loose all of his creadabilty, but he had to keep her on side, she was living with him after all, which ment she could possible know what was going on in his house, and he did not want Nina knowing about it.

"But your father never hears it you understand"

Carina did one thing she rarely got the opportunity to do. She hugged her godfather, a man who was like a second father to her. She couldn't do it often because he had a reputation to preserve. It would put her in danger if he appeared to care for her more than he did other people around him. She knew how it worked people who didn't like you targeted those close to you as opposed to try and get to the heavily gaurded person.

For a few seconds she buried her face into his chest, inhaling the scent of citrus bergamot and cigar smoke. Pulling away slightly the smile still on her lips she looks up into his ice blue eyes.

Carina: Daddy will never find out, if he does i climbed out of my bedroom window to see him. You had no clue whatsoever it was all my fault. I know. But i know you'll help me keep this from him as well right? i mean obviously i'll do something for you as well, i mean i have all that time alone with my sister now in which i can drop subtle hints.

It was typical Carina, she knew from a young age that nothing in this world was free. She knew just what incentives to offer people. For a moment however a cloud of doubt and apprehension crossed her face as the young woman looked up at the man in front of her.

Carina: Do you think i'm stupid Carter, I mean i take him back now and the minute daddy applies some pressure he'll just break my heart again right?

Carter wrapped his arms around her, hands resting in her hair,holding her close to his body for a moment, it was a rare thing, being able to hold his god daughter and seeing the innocent care free person he knew her to be. Dropping a kiss to the top of her head he pulled away, looking at her, his eyes narrowing ever so slightly, chuckling he rolled his eyes, trust her to turn this is to give and give situatin.

"You get her back on side" He stated, he wanted to Nina back, he wanted Nina to be abck at his side, where she had been when he had got out of jail "and ill keep my mouth shut"

When he dropped his gaze, he saw a flicker of uncertainty pass across her face and he licked his hips. With a sigh he dropped his gaze, he knew the type of person Taeshawn was, knew that he was going to break her heart again, but he knew she loved him.

"Do what you think is right, im not going to tell you not to"he stated softly "but he's not good enough for you"

Taeshawn was nothing if not observant, and right now he was observing how good this one nurse looked in her higher than regulation skirt. Thankfully his eyes were hidden behind his shades and it looked like he was simply staring forward. Maybe even slightly nervous about what was being said inside the room.

His back up against the doorframe, legs crossed infront of him as he leaned back, arms behind his head. Looking every inch the cool relaxed man he put across that he was. He only hoped no one else could sense his slight apprehension at what was being said in that room. Although he was confident even if Carter was pointing out and highlighting each of his failings he could win his baby girl over once more.

Watching as the nurse bent to pick up some files his ego told him she was deliberately trying to provoke him. Why else would she bend at the waist for something so low down. Curbing his indecent thoughts, he smirked the woman was a definite hoe, she would never be any kind of comparison for his Cari. He had to get things back on track with the woman he had every intention of wifing before he thought about games with others.

Turning his eyes toward Nina, he watched her marveling at the similarities and differences between her and her sister. Had it not been too close to home, she may have made for a good one night thing. Not only was it too close to home, Carter would have his balls in a vice if he tried it. Propped casually as he was, it disguised the fact that he was listening into the conversation taking place. Thankful that Nina was too far from the door to hear, that and she was too busy engaging the returning doctor in conversation. Whether it was to sate her own fears or to give the godfather and child more time alone he wasn't sure.

He could barely keep the smirk off of his lips when Carter told Carina to do what she wanted. Hearing Carina promise to help get Nina back onside Taeshawn thought he should work on that right now. Might help him in the long run, if Carter at least was accepting of the fact he was Carina's man. Rocking forward onto the soles of his feet the new yorker laid a dark hand on Nina's creamy shoulder. Shocking her for a moment, he held his hands up in an apologetic gesture.

Taeshawn: Didn't mean to scare you, figured i should introduce myself since we'll be seeing alot of eachother. I'm Taeshawn, Taeshawn Reynolds.

It wasn't often Taeshawn had to introduce himself, he was on the party circuit as a socialite brat, he'd bedded so many hollywood women quite publicly before Carina had become his number 1 girl. Not to mention people engaged in underhand dealings knew him in an entirely different capacity. To the world at large he was a speculator a chancer who came good and the premier diamond dealer globally. To the criminal world diamonds made excellent transactional items. Easy to transport, accepted worldwide and small enough to hide. On top of that how do you think a boy from the ghetto gained enough money to go around buying diamond mines.

Taeshawn: I'm Carina's other half i suppose you could call it. I'm guessing your Nina. Your Carina's sister and Carter's better half right? I've never seen Carter more proud of anyone and trust i've known the man for more than a few years. Your a director and writer right? And you own clubs, which ones if you don't mind me asking?

The last question was mainly out of self preservation, he didn't need to be taking his other conquests to clubs his girls sister owned. As the doctor moved past the pair toward the room taeshawn laid a hand on his arm before he could turn the handle.

Taeshawn: Just let me see if they've finished in there, she's a little skittish about hospitals. He's just trying to make sure she's ok and that she won't give you any problems when he leaves.

Knocking on the door he calls into the pair.

Taeshawn: Hey, Doctors here with the transfer papers. You done in there?

Nina hated hospitals, about as much as her sister did, despite the money that her father and her friends had, the hospitals where she grew up were shit, 9 out of 10 times you went into one you didnt come out, she knew why Carina was acting up, but she was her sister and if the doctor said she needed to stay for observation, then she was god damn staying in.

The doctor assured her that her sister was fine, and was going to be fine, that it was more for precattion then anything else, with a sigh she nodded her head, folding her arms around her chest, a warm hand rested on top of her bare shoulder and she spun around, eyes wide.

"S'Kay"She muttered when she came face to face with the man who had come to see her sister, looking him up and down she narrowed her eyes at his name, so this was who her sister had spoke about, shaking her head she let out a breath, her sister had nothing but good words about him, but yet at the same time there had been a pain behind her eyes when she had spoke about him.

"Im Nina, but not Carter's better half"She muttered, even though she could stil feel his arm around her waist as he had held her, he hadnt had to be asked, he had just done it, knowing she needed the comforting.

She lifted her gaze, brown eyes resting onto the man in front of her, he knew a lot about her, considering she hardly knew him, she half wondered where he got his infomation from, her sister or Carter, with a shrug, she slowly nodded her head. "YEa i am, and do"SHe stated, brushing a hand through her slightly curled hair. "And most of my clubs are up on the upper side"She stated "Any of the high end clubs i tend to have a hand in"


Lickign her lips she watched the doctor approach and then Taeshawn heading towards the door, and once again her interest was peaked, she wanted to know what had been said between her sister and Carter.

The knock on the door disturbed the tranquil and cordial atmosphere in the room. The knowledge that the doctor was back outside made Carina's whole body sag against the supportive frame of her godfather. She really didn't want to stay here. It was one thing to reluctantly accept it it was another entirely to have to go through with it.

Her hesitence was noted, and a strong hand traced comforting circles on her back. Much in the manner he did for his daughter when she was crying. Blinking up at the man in front of her she answers the unspoken question. What is she going to do about Taeshawn.

They both know what she's going to do. She does it every time, she takes him back. Each time whether he realises it's because of Taeshawn or not Carter ends up picking up the pieces or dealing with the temper tantrums.

Carina: She'll be on side soon, i can at least make him beg this time can't i?

The quiet laughter that leaves his lips at the idea of his business partner begging is all it needs for Carina to burst into peels of laughter at the image of Taeshawn begging.

Carter ,smoothed his hands down her back, he had a lot of practice in it, what with his daughter and the amount of times he had comforted Carina when Taeshawn had broken her heart. Her words had him laughing deeply, with a nod of his head, he dropped a kiss to her head once more, then stepped away.

"Thank you"he stated honestly, his eyes sparkling, he didnt thank people often, but when he did, it was always geniune. With a sigh he turned looking at the door, he wanted Nina back in his life, he wanted her happy with him. "Make him buy you something really expensive and nice"he laughed.

As the door handle twisted the young female broke away from Carter with a smile on her face. Her eyes less haunted than they had been, overall her demeanour had improved. Hopefully that would be the first thing her sister noticed. As the triumverate entered the room, Nina looking curious, Taeshawn as cocky as always and the doctor looking rightly apprehensive.

Carina only smiled and nodded her head. Her eyes fell on the man she'd call the love of her life before her voice was aimed toward her gaurdian.

Carina: Oh, it'll be more than one thing nice and expensive. He'll start by paying for the repair to the car i crashed because i was thinking about him. Then i may think about how things are. but only think about it.

It was a slight dig at the man she adored, a way to let him know she held him partly responsible for her accident. The look on his face made the colombian think of a kicked puppy. He at least had the grace to look ashamed and not argue about paying for Carter's car to be repair.

Carina: You were always more understanding than daddy. Daddy wants to control me, you just want me to be happy.

That sentence was more for Nina's benefit than anyone elses, and was only spoken when she had assessed that there was no one in the room who posed a threat to the man in questions standing.

He knew she'd forgive him, but it looked like this time she'd atleast go through the motions of making him work for it. He had the grace to at least look ashamed of his actions. Pulling the shades up to sit onto of his head he stared down at the young woman. Knowing too well she couldn't resist his eyes he used them to their full effect.

Taeshawn: Cari, i'd never have left if...

As she held up a hand to stop him mid sentence he duly obliged, all the while his hand in his pocket messing with his cells. He had it set, he knew this would be corny but it would make her laugh and the more she smiled the more likely she was to let him back in.

Carina: I'm not listening to if's and But's Tae, next time daddy clicks his fingers you'll run again and i won't matter all over again.

The pain in her voice cut through him more than any knife could. She was holding back though that he could tell, he knew when their audience left he was really in for the full works. She'd held it all in for so long now she was going to rail on him. Forgiveness was in sight though. He could even ignore the man smirking behind him as he took hold of her hand.

Taeshawn: Next time i leave, imma take you with me. Whether you wanna go or not baby girl.

Stroking her cheek with his other hand he smiled as she leaned into the touch momentarily before she remembered she was mad at him.

Nina stepped into the room, Carters hand resting firmly on her back, it was giving her goosebumps and she had no idea why, she had thought she was past this, past needing him, and past wanting him, but seeing him like this, taking care of not only her but her sister as well, comforting the both of them, it reminded her of the Carter she had fell in love with, the Carter that she would have said yes to in an instant. Licking her lips she let out a breath and turned her gaze onto Carter, he was talking to Carinia once more, his words soft before he stepped back, allowing Taeshawn to take center stage, his smirking face showing just how amusing he was finding the situation.

"I remember that being you once"She stated softly turning her gaze onto Carter, her eyes twinged with amusment, he had the decency to drop his gaze, his blue eyes looseing its play fullness, she laughed softly, turning her gaze to Carinia, offering her a soft smile.

"You gonna be okay Car"She questioned with a raised brow, her voice full of concern for her younger sister.

Despite the distraction Taeshawn was presenting the young woman managed to focus on her sister. Giving her a small smile, looking past her she could see Carter signing some forms with the doctor that probably pertained to her removal to a more secure and private ward.

As Tae's fingers moved up and down her neck lightly making goosebumps raise on her skin the pretty brunette finally found her voice. Eyes locking with her sister's own similar orbs.

Carina: Yeah, i'll be fine. Carter is looking out for me like he always does. Provided i'm happy he'll help me keep things away from daddy. You know how papa can get.

The younger woman rolled her eyes at the thought of their father. He was obsessive about protecting his baby girl from any danger percieved real or imagined. Then trying to joke about the most terrifying accident the young woman had been in she played it off

Carina: Near death experiences are the only things that remind us we're actually alive... well that and...

She trailed off leaving it open to interpretation, she certainly wasn't inviting conversation about her sex life with her godfather in the room and knew Taeshawn valued his unscarred face too much to make such a reference despite whatever agreement seemed to have been reached.

Nina forced herself to smile despite the words falling from her lips, she didnt like the thought of loosing her sister when she had finally gotten her back in her life. With a sigh, she walked over to her, compleatly disregarding Taeshawn, it wasnt that she didnt like the man, more to do with the fact she didnt like the way he treated her sister.

"You keep yourself safe"She whispered as she wrapped her arms around her sister, inhaling her scent, her words had ment more to do with ensuring Taeshawn treated her right then anything else, and she knew her sister would understand that.

Finally pullign away she let out a sigh and stepped away from her, her dark gaze turned towards Taeshawn. "You hurt her again and your gonna have to deal with me"SHe promised, nodding her head she moved past him and headed in the direction of the door. "Ill catch you later Carter"She whispered, tip toeing so she could kiss hsi cheek, with her hand lingering agasint his chest a little longer she finally pulled open the hospital door and slipped through it.

When the door was shut behind her, she rested agasint it for the breifest moment, her eyes closed as she breathed, she had no idea why Carter had the effect he did on her, but she didnt know if she liked it or not, and it was driving her insane.
