Here she was again, back on the beaches of Los Angeles. How long had she been gone? It couldn't have been that long now, but it sure seemed like it. Lately, she had been traveling a lot; all over the US, back to France, then to Germany, then back to the United States once more to her old home in Georgia. Now, here she was back in Los Angeles and she began to realize just how much she had actually missed it. Where had the time gone? Los Angeles was the one place besides Georgia that she thought would always remain constant and even it seemed different to her now. Time really was always changing things and people. Jogging down across the sandy beach with the sun so high in the sky as it was still early, probably no later than 11:36AM she was getting her mid-morning work out. Stopping for a break next to the pier after a good short run she took a deep breath. She would need to eat soon. The question was just where. It was something she could think on, she wasn't that hungry. Not yet at least. She was heating up quickly though and it was about time to cool off. Jogging down to the shoreline she stopped a bit before it to where she had her beach towel and belongings down, taking of her white tennis shoes before stripping her soft baby pink shirt off so that she was just in an attractive gem purple bikini top, pulling off the tiny blue jean short shorts as well to reveal the matching bottoms. Pulling out her ponytail holder then she let her long blonde hair that was wavy and slightly curled today fall just past her shoulders and she took a running start for the water before diving in to cool off. This, was nice. For a moment in time now she was completely and totally free of everything and she loved it. Swimming about for a bit she got out. She really needed to get a lay of the area and see what all had changed now that she was back. Afterall she had only been back for a few days now. She hadn't even gotten herself a new place to live yet. She was still working on that factor. She had already looked into some familiarities though and had a general idea, afterall she wasn't alone. Getting out of the water she headed back up onto the beach and to where her belongings were before drying off and putting her short shorts and shoes back on, but not her top, it was a Los Angeles beach afterall, no need for it. Leaving her hair down she waited for it to dry. It was getting warmer faster so it would be dry within the half-hour if not sooner, which only added on to the contentment of her day. Chelsea, her white pomeranian wasn't with her today. In fact Chelsea was back at the hotel room. Which was alright, this was just time for her to catch some time just for herself. It was risky, and not really something she should do, but she would take a chance and she left her spot and headed up the beach to one of the concession stands to get herself a bottle of ice water. She was getting hungry too, but what did she really want to eat? She wasn't sure, but going along the pier she did see a housing brochure and took it. Opening it up to look at some of the southern california beach homes she walked along the pier with her water bottle in hand, heading back to her belongings on the beach where she would sit and watch people as she looked for a new home to purchase.

Today was one of the more exciting days at the FBI...or better the beach. Agent Trinh and agent O'Conner had been sent down to the local beach to check out a possible gang member. After watching and photographing the guy chat up girls, drink sodas, go for a swim and sunteint, the feds decided that they had watched him long enough and nothing interesting had happened. When Trinh finally nudged Brian, who was about to fall asleep on a bench near the boardwalk, and told him that it was time to grab a bite to eat and head back he gladly agreed. "Getting some food will be the only useful thing that happened all day!" Both were dressed in casual clothes so they wouldn't stand out. A suit on the beach would be a little to easy to spot. Brian placed his order at the burger stand after his colleague and turned around. He leaned against the warm metal and chewed on a toothpick when his blue eyes fell upon a blonde girl in a bikini top and jeans shorts. She looked familar but Brian couldn't put his finger on it. So he asked the lady next to him. "Hey, Trinh, do we know her?" [ center ] [ /center ]

Eyes were constantly watching, but people didn't always stare. Los Angeles was full of so many nutcases that anything was expected around here. She knew people were giving her the occasional glance, but she would let it blow past her. Stopping for a moment as she was on her way back to her place on the beach she looked around for a moment. Her eyes that were an almost bluish-green tint today looking around her. She was still a fairly cautious person.
Her feet were growing a bit tired as well, so she would lean against one of the pillars on the pier nearby the concession, looking out to the water as she had turned her attention from the housing book in her hand.

Suddenly it hit Brian. It was the girl he had met in San Diego. The one with the little dog.
"Excuse me for a moment. I know that girl, I think. Could you grab my burger for me?" He handed his colleague a couple of dollars, ignored her smirk and walked towards the woman leaning against a pillar not too far away. Was it really her?
When he got closer he wondered what to say. 'Hi I'm the idiot, who was crawling around your feet the other day. How are you?' Maybe that would be funny. So when he reached he he smiled at her and said exactly that.

"Huh?" Looking from the water she looked at Brian O'Conner then and a smile drew itself across her lips. "Hi! Brian right?" She was sure she got the name right, but he had been drinking so maybe he had given her a wrong name? If that was so then she might have just made a fool of herself, but that wasn't something that bothered her. It was the same guy from San Diego, California. "I'm well. It's a shame you left so soon that day. You were entertaining. I haven't laughed like that in awhile."

Brian suddenly found his flip flops rather interesting. He was trying to hide how embarrassed he was but couldn't help but turn a little red. "Yeah, I'm really sorry about that. I vagley recall what I've done but I think I made a pretty big ass out of myself." He scratched his head, then slicked his blonde hair back. What a conversation opener. "I'm usually a lot nicer."

"No, you are fine. You didn't make a fool out of yourself or anything. You were great, entertaining as I said. I haven't laughed like that in awhile, or smiled. It was nice so thank you. I just wish you wouldn't have run off so fast." She looked at him then, brushing a lock of hair behind her ear.

"Yeah, we had to dash that day. It was a pretty wierd, crazy day." He looked at her face for a minute. She had great eyes with lots of expression and beautiful skin. A second later he gazed around because he didn't want to stare at the woman. "So where's poochy today?" He was too embarrassed to ask her name. After all Brian would have to admit that he didn't have all of his senses together back then.

"She's at the hotel," Carly smiled. "She's resting today while I go house shopping and get back into the groove of living in Los Angeles." It was a simple enough explaination. "I just wanted to go out today and see what all might have possibly changed or happened while I was gone."

Brian nodded. "LA changes fast. The people, houses, burger places." He nodded back at Trinh who was waiting. "I know what you mean. I moved back here after being gone for a while." He smiled again. It was something he did a lot when he was nervous. But why was she making him nervous? "I have a dog, too, by the way. Well, since that day at the vet I actually have two. the second one is kind of a community dog though."

"Well that's nice." Carly smiled. This guy really was friendly. It was actually sort of refreshing, she really appreciated it and everything. It reminded her of people back in Georgia where she used to live. That was a long time ago if she excluded the short visit she had made a little while back. In Georgia there was nothing left their for her except her father's home and the ferarri, which she dared not bring to Los Angeles. The car was far too valuable for that and not the best car in her mind for street racing. Something else, she had not done in awhile.
"And yeah, Los Angeles does change fast." Thinking about it, it was almost disappointing, but she would get over it, she just needed to figure a few things out. "So where were you before you came back to Los Angeles?"

"I lived in Miami for a while." He looked at the adds in her hand. "Are you looking to buy a place here? Waterfront? That'll be expensive." He briefly checked whether she wore any expensive jewelry or labels but couldn't see anything. "What do you work, if you don't mind me asking?"

"Wouldn't you like to know?" Carly smirked as she teased him then. She knew how expensive it would be here on the Waterfront, money wasn't an issue for her if she wanted it, between her career, street racing, mechanical skills, and the inheritance left to her by her father and him, the love of her life, she was well taken care of. It had just taken her awhile to get this far.

Brian just smirked at her reply. She was a tease. That much was for sure. His cop eye had spotted a ring on her finger, which made him wonder whether she was spoken for. But he surely wasn't going to ask. Why was he even thinking that way? Was it just years of working as a cop or was he desperate? His mind wandered to Mia. They weren't a couple-not officially at least. Mia had a hard time letting Brian back into her life it seemed. But she was the one he wanted. Brian looked at his colleague. "Sorry, I'll have to go soon. What was your name again?"

"Carlyn Wilder, but everyone just calls me Carly." Carly smiled at him. She wasn't really sure if giving him her full name was alright, as she was still very cautious. She was the ex-fiance of 'deceased' Baleon CEO Sean Anthony Bale, one of the richest young men known in the United States. Now, she was his benificiary. She was a fragile, but headstrong CSI Agent who held the world on a string, but very close to herself. It was in her police records as she had many past dealings with her ex-husband Keith McMahon. Her getting with Sean Bale had made plenty of tabloid news back almost 6-8 years ago. Then Sean Bale's death had taken the news again and she disappeared as well as his money. She had kept it well hidden from the world as well as herself for protection, and now she was stepping out again.
If Brian recognized her name, he recognized her name, if he didn't, it was all the better. Sometimes the past was better left buried, she did not need people snooping. Then again- she was safe right? Her name back then had been Carlyn Nikolette Hollows, soon-to-be Carlyn N. Bale, but after his death, his murder, the chase began and she ran away and became Carlyn Larien Wilder, also just known as Carly.
Becoming a CSI, the police station still kept a close watch on her and she was well guarded, but lately- something great had happened and things were starting to change. "It was nice to see you again Brian O'Conner?"

for a second Brian was taken back. How díd she know his real name. Even though he's been dazed and confused the day he met her he was pretty sure he didn't tell her his full name. Especially in Matts presence who knew him as Spilner. He liked people in the racing scene not to know what his real profession was. Quickly he gathered his composure. "I'll remember your name this time for sure, Carly." Her name didn't sound familiar. Maybe he had to check it out back at work or maybe not. Maybe private could stay private for once. "It was really nice seeing you again. If you need help with moving or whatever let me know." He scribbled down his number on a piece of paper and offered it to her.

"Thank you," she smiled as he gave it to her. He really was a fairly nice guy. Not many of these were still around and she really appreciated it. It was nice. She would have to tell 'them' about it later. About the nice man she met again in Los Angeles. "I will do that Brian. It was nice seeing you again too." She took the number gratefully, though she was sure she would not have to call him for help to get things moved in. After all she had things pretty well under control.

"Allright." He kept his eyes on her while he took a step backwards. For some reason it was hard to turn around and go. If she didn't call he'd probably never see her again. Brian smiled at her once more before he gave her a short wave goodbye and walked away to meet his colleague who was waiting with a burger in her hand.
Once more he turned around to see whether Carly was still there and then took the food. "Thanks a lot. I met this girl last week and just wanted to say hi." "Yeah, yeah, Brian." The young agent smiled. She liked her colleague even though she had been told on various occassions that he was bad influence. She liked his no bullshit attitude and that he was always good for a laugh. "Seems like the day was good for more than just some food."

She would continue on her way then, well maybe. She would probably walk around the pier and boardwalk a bit more. She was looking for something to eat now that she had talked to someone for a bit. She had even placed Brian's number in one of the pockets of her jean short shorts and she headed to one of the venders close to get herself something to eat, pulling out some money before her phone rang, answering it. "Agent Wilder," she answered. "I'm on the pier. Where are you?" She waited, getting her food before moving towards the dock again where she had originally stood.

Hearing Carly pick up she grinned. "Mmm looking for you." She said on the other end of the phone. She was down on the beach though. So she turned, keeping one of her best friends on the phone with her as she took the steps up the to the pier from the beach two at a time until she was standing on the wheathered wood planks that made up the pier. The wooden rails were weathered as well and her fast movement had caused the sea air to really assualt her nose. It wasn't a bad scent, in fact, it was calming. Soothing. Reassuring. It was...home. She'd lived in California as a teenager and was born there. But she had thought she had hated it for the longest time. Now she wondered how she could. It was...home. Her friends and a lot of her family were here. Nathaniel was her. Her life was supposed to be here. Not to mention it was a country away from...Miami.
Today was beautiful like other Cali days and she was dressed for the weather. Her long dark brown hair was shining in the sun and up high on her head in a thick pony tail. Her sunglasses were in place to shield her eyes from the bright sun and she was grinning with her phone to her ear. She wore a bright orange tank top with a pair of Yellow and orange and blue board shorts with a pair of blue and white flip flops. Her toes were neatly pedicured with white toe nails and her skin was tanned evenly from laying out in the back yard. When she saw Carly she hung up with out saying goodbye and tapped her on the shoulder. "Hey you." She said, leaning against the railing then.
