(One day after Brian's training two days after Faye's torture)

Walter rolled a quarter between his knuckles as he looked out the window of the downtown diner. Months after his prison escape the police hadn't been searching for him. He didn't know who to thank for that NSA, Carter, maybe they were just too embarrassed to admit they let one slip. Whatever the cause was he was waiting on Verone now and eating a tuna and lettuce on a white bread sub.

He spied Carter's car pull into the lot. He calmly sipped at his sprite waiting for his employer to enter. It was time for the big push and he had to start worming out who the other players were in the game.

Carter had to admit, even if it was to himself, that bringing Jeremy into the mix had been a very good thing. He was efficent, he got the job done, and he didn task questions, he worked when he was told to work, and he had yet to complain about anything he had handed him, even the torture of pretty little lawyer Faye.

He had veiwed the tape and had to admit it was a thing of beauty, the way she had screamed, oh he couldnt wait untill he met with the younger O'Conner, more to see the look upon his face when he realized that it was his dealings with Shaw that had got his girlfriend in the mess she was currently in.

His car rolled to a stop and the alrarm bleeped as he moved over to the diner in which they were meetting, nothing suspisious just to colegues having lunch. Stepping into the building he eyed the man in front of him. "You do good work" He stated, there was a coldness to his tone.

Walter looked up at Carter. "Well sir, it was all childs play fer me. A bit more of a challenge fer the next job sir? I'm tired of the easy stuff." He finished the sub and wrapped the cover over itself neatly.

Carter chuckled but nodded his head as he looked at his hired gun, he was the best guy he had working for him. "Well youve proven yourself more then useful, your next job is of a sensitive nature"

He eyed the man at his with a cool, hard look "And i know i can trust you"

"Well ya hired me cause I'm good at what I do. If ya wanten ta discuss business let's take a walk." He left a few notes on the table before standing up and opening the door for his boss. Once they were out of ear shot from people he looked at Carter. "What da ya got in mind sir. The cops were a bit ticked off bout the electrical fire at yer garage, seemed a bloody mess. I need ta know if things get topsy turvy I got someone watching m'back. We both know you got someone on the inside 'ere or else I'd have shackles in m'wrist by now." he stressed his points by putting his arms out as if he was handcuffed. "So 'ow about cutting me in a bit?" He arched an eyebrow.

Carter nodded his head and together they walked from the diner, chuckling deeply Carter nodded his head, ah he knew that he hadnt hired this man just for his muscels but also from his smarts. "You dont need to worry" He stated instead, he continued walking expecting Jeremy to follow him.

"Im bringing another driver in on your last job, like i said its of sensitive nature" He turned his gaze onto the man at his side, "You'll find him at the pick up location, he's going to be our fall guy"

King raised his eyebrow even higher, "I got two questions, what'r we runnen and what about collateral? Ya know, case the piggies come runnen after us? This job gotta pull some weight right, and I need ta know about the size and weight of the package." He tested the waters again, he owed it to Brian to see if he had Mia. He kept his calm demeanor and raised a sadistic smile. "That last game was a bit fun, I was hopin ya had somethen sweet fer me ta look into not a buster fer tha fall."

Carter stopped short and turned his full gaze onto the man at his side, "Small, it will fit into the boot nicely" He stated letting out a breath he chuckled deeply, "Ill put this to you straight, if the cops get a whiff of this your on your own" He stated Carter was smart, the boss smarter, there was no way any of the paper trail led back to him, or any one that was working for him.

"The buster is our fall guy, because loyal sadastic people like yourself are hard to come by, i'd rather not loose you if i dont have to"

Carter was taking control back, Walter wasn't too happy about it though he needed to find out if Mia was going to be involved or if Carter had her. "The cop 'at chased me down, 'e's 'ad a tail on me fer a few days now, what happens if 'e pops up? I don't wanna be tryen ta out gun him with god know's what in the back. Mind if I ask fer somethin ta pre-ocupie 'em then?" He decided to play off a little lie, he needed to keep his cover and a well known escapee/wanted felon might catch a few eyes to anyone that could remember worth a damn.

Carter sighed, slowly becomeing annoyed with the man in front of him, maybe he wasnt such a sure thing as Carter had intitially hoped "If he pops up you take care of it" He stated, "silently" He added, because he doubted the man in front of him knew how to do anything silently, he stepped slightly closer to him, his eyes turning darker.

"WHat your carrying is sensitive, there can be no heat from the police, so you do nothing rash" He ordered, the last thing he needed was things going south before the switch had been made. "You shouldnt have to worry about things though, i have someone taking care of the police, the road will remain clear as long as you remain clean"

Walter placed his hands on his chest sarcasticly in defense. "Me sir?" He said grandiously, "I take offence ta that! I am the very image of clean!" He smiled widely still desheveled and his white muscle shirt's oil stains and grease smudges hidden under the black dickies shirt. "Well maybe not the very image, but I'm up there." He snickered, "Ell if ya say ya got me covered then I 'ave ta take yer word fer it. Now who just 'appens ta be the mook fer this one?" He let his hands drop back into his pocket.

Carter laughed, looking his 'mechanic' up and down, he fit that part down, perfectly, but anything else, not so much, epescially clean, the man in front of him was anything but clean, and he was pretty sure when Jack and him were put in the same room together, or well the same car together, sparks would fly, and both of them would be taken out of the picture, all dead ends gone, and his name clean.

King turned and prepared to walk back to his car when an idea hit him, he stopped and turned. "Ay boss man, Ya told me ta keep my eyes on the black man an that cop, then his girl up and poofed," He quickly pulled up one of the earlier assignments Carter had for him. "Ya had anythin ta do with that? If ya did, I think she'd make a great collateral if 'e got on my heels." He laughed evily, "Maybe I can bring her along fer some fun if ya can get yer hands on 'er." He smiled and watched his boss for a reaction.

Carter himself had began to turn, he would head in the opposite direction and just like that the connection with king would be done, finished, even if any one had been watching the two of them, nothing could brought up agaisnt Carter, there was no connection, and a man was allowed to speak with his mechanic after all.

Licking his lips he stopped and turned to face King once more, his words made him stop and think, nothing though showed on his face, except a smirk, "Well that's just a shame, i cant imagine what he's going through, if it was Nina" He shook his head, visablly shivering at the thought of his own woman going up and missing like that.

With a sigh he shook his head and chuckled, and shook his head, "Im suer she's very comfortable given the situation, keep your head down King, and you might have someting sweet at the end" He shook his head and turned, it had been obvious with his words that Carter had something to do with Mia, what, was left to be decided.

King smiled and turned away. 'Nothen,' Carter was giving him jack shit, he raised his hand and waved it once. 'Ill be in contact sir." He kept the cool tone until he was in his truck and out of sight. He took a deep breath and weighed his options, he does the run and reports back to Carter. Two, he fails the run and ditches out, comes back and grills Carter over an own fire. Three, he parks the car in Carter's living room and starts leveling the building till he gets the info he wants. The more he thought about option three, the more he leaned towards it. With a laugh that startled himself out of the sadistic daydream he began to think rationally again, who was the ride along going to be?
