Angel sighed licking her lips once more as she pulled up to the garage she had written down on a slip of paper. She didn't exactly know what to say to the guy who owned the place. She definitely couldn't say he had seen his add in the paper to drum up business and wanted to know if he could use someone that specialized in engines.
Making a face she checked her appearance in the rear view mirror, she had left the makeup on from the last shoot she had finished up about a half hour ago. If she could get a full time gig here she could finally stop modeling. It wasn’t like Angel disliked modeling it was just that she didn’t like being paraded around like a show dog, and scorned for her couple of tattoo’s that she had gotten when she had her own garage.
Angel took a deep breath and slipped into her Diablo persona as she slipped out of her Silver Mitsubishi Eclipse. Her feet were light on the ground as she walked into the garage pushing her Chopper sunglasses on the top of her head, effectively pushing her long hair out of her face. Now all she had to do was find the boss, Brian, and with any luck she’d have some where to work other then in her living room.

Brian looked up at the customer coming in late in the afternoon. He had just finished a call with somebody from another garage in search for some parts that were out of stock at the moment. "Hi there, what can I do for you?" He recognised the woman from the BBQ at Jacks house. "Hey, Diablo, right?"

"Yeah, oh hey... yeah that would make sense..." Angel said her Diablo persona dropping admist slight panic that she had met the owner of the garage and hadn't even thought twice about it when she had seen the name, then again her attention had been mainly on Dom.
Shaking her head she smiled at Brian, "Funiest thing," she said offering him the slip of newpaper, "I was actually coming here to see if you needed some help here, I specialize in everything motors and kind of needed some place to work that wasn't my living room. Though I will admit I was not expecting to see you again, you know Cali's a big place and this apparently is a tiny world."
She was innerly shaking her head and grumbling in irritation that she was rambling to the one person she was not expecting to be begging for another job.

Brian*s eyes wandered down to the piece of paper she had torn out of the newspaper. "Ah, yeah." He thought about her words for a moment. "We do normal repairs here, some modifications but most people don't come in to buy a new engine." he offered her a smile. "I'm not sure that we my garage is big enough. I need a part time mechanic."

Angel bit back a snort, "I used to run my own garage Brian, I know my way inside and out of a car. I just... I need another job to be honest, not that my current one is bad... I just need a change."
She bit the inside of her lip, it was a long shot if there had ever been one. If Brian said no she could always look for another location for a new garage. It would wipe her entire savings but she could make it, she had done it once on her own she could do it again if she had no other choice.
"If it helps I can do paint repairs too," Angel said throwing it into the ring incase there was any chance of her being able to be in a garage at long last.

Brian wasn't too sure about the woman in front of him nor any other woman. He didn't know many women mechanics but he was also no sexist. "Why don't you give it a try. Check it out for a week, we'll check you out for a week and decide then. I have a partner, who also wants to have a say. It's just for 20 hours a week though." He over and held out his hand. "Okay?"

Angel nodded, "Any time spent in a garage is better then being paraded around in front of cameras like a show dog. I'm easy to work with, do what's asked of me, and I know how to keep a good inventory of everything I've used," she said shaking his hand, "And if you decide you like having me around, you can call me Angel."
She smiled at him, she really wanted this all to work out. She knew that she did a good job, her old garage had been booming until she had to leave. Angel had fought her way to the ring of professionals and like hell was she going to back off now when a bunch of guys didn't think a girl could be a mechanic.
"So boss for a week, when would you like me to come in to work?" Angel asked looking at Brian with a very Diablo like grin.

"Good sales pitch." he laughed. This girl seemed nice enough and what she said was true they could really use her help since Brian hated inventory lists and that was his weakest point. "Come by tomorrow at 8 am." Then he added with a smile. "And bring some old clothes, Angel. And you can keep calling me boss. I like that touch of authority." He laughed again. Of course he wasn't serious.

"No problem boss," Angel teased back, "I'll see you bright an early then tomorrow."
Angel had already been planning to work in her old work clothes, it was better then the current clothes she was wearing at least, the silky tank top and tight jean capris with short silver heels. That was the only problem with coming here after a shoot, she had to dress one way for her modeling job which contradicted her preferred jeans, tank top, and skater shoes.
She waved to Brian, just about keeping the skip out of her step as she walked back to her car, hips swaying back and forth.

Brian watched her walk away on her high heels and shook her head. "That's going to be good." The reason he had agreed to giving her a chance was that when he met her at the party she had presented a decent engine to them which she claimed was her invention.
He returned to his current project, changing a rusty exhaust pipe...not one of his favourite jobs but easy enough.

Angel slipped into her car and sped off back to her apartment as her face broke into a happy grin, "I get to work at a garage, I get to work at a garage!"
The next morning Angel slipped out of bed and pulled her long hair up into high pig tails. She sighed softly and pulled on her traditional work clothes. Walking into the bathroom she brushed her teeth and applied a thin coat of eyeshadow and eyeliner. Grinning widely she flicked her hair over one shoulder and sashayed herself out of her apartment, her very broken in black and electric blue skater shoes making no sound as she padded down the hallway before taking the stairs down to her car.
As she slipped back into her car she yawned, "Yeah early mornings!"
Her feet stomped the pedals as her hands worked the wheel and the gear shift as she sped off to her week long job.

Just like the past ten days Brian opened the garage at 8 am. Mia's scolding still rang in his ears so he tried to do as she told him and get off his ass even though early mornings weren't his favourite. He had made it his routine to drive past the beach and go for a 30 minute walk there as long as there weren't too many people around and the air was still cool. His knee was slowly starting to cooperate a little more and his hobble got less visible. So when he approached the garage he felt pretty good about himself. In front of it he found Angel sitting on the old chair outside. "Morning sunshine, ready to rip a fender off?" He grinned and unlocked the door. Her outfit was much more appropriate than the day before and matched Brians old shorts and holy shirt.

"Yep, nothing like demo in the morning to get a girl's blood going," Angel said with a grin as she pulled herself to her feet, "So then boss, how goes your morning?"
She followed him inside noticing his slight limp, "You get hurt recently Brian? Sorry if you don't want to answer that... It's just I can see you limping, just making sure you are okay."
Angel nibbled on her bottom lip, not sure if she had overstepped her bounds in asking him such a personal question.

"My morning is going pretty well so far, went for a walk on the beach and had a moccha, what more can you want?" He entered the garage behind her. "You can stop calling me boss now, okay?" He opened the shutters and flicked the light on. Then he turned to look in her face. She did seem like a genuine person. "Nah, it's okay, that was already a couple of months ago...is it still that obvious?" He scrunched up his nose as if he was disgusted. Then he pointed to a black Honda Civic. "There's your project of the day. They guy ran into who knows what."

Angel looked at the damage, "I would say he put his forgot that his car was in drive and slammed into a light post. Not really, I'm just used to watching people walk, so I pick up when people are favoring a limb," she glanced at him with a cheeky smile, "Sure boss, I'll stop calling you boss."
She laughed softly and crouched down next to the injured car, she ran her hand over the damaged spot before reaching under the bumper to check if it effected anything else, "This guy is damn lucky if all he managed to damage was his bumper," Angel stood up and looked at Brian, "So where your tools Brian? You know cars don't fix themselves and I don't exactly know where you keep everything."

"You're very perceptive." Brian complimented although even a blind man could have seen it.
"Okay, I'll give you the big tour. Follow me, new employee." He walked around the garage pointing out where everything was stored, then showed her the storage area , the small office in the back and the lot out back where all old parts were put in a large container and three other cars were sitting waiting to be repaired or enhanced. "That's it. I'd appreciate it if you'd put everything back where it belongs and keep things as tidy as you can because I'm messy enough for two. Your co-worker Walter will be here soon as well. My partner Rome isn't around at the moment but I talked to him last night and he's okay with giving you a try as long as I am.""

Angel nodded, "Alright sounds good Brian. I'm going to fix this car and leave you to your managerial stuff," she said waving to his as she went back to the where the tools were.
She grabbed everything she needed before walking back to the civic, crouching down next to the bumper. Angel shook her head before beginning to pop the bumper off trying to find out if there was any more damage under the bumper. She rocked back on her heels as she twisted setting the damaged bumper aside. With a trained eye Angel inspected the front end not finding any more damage, which meant the guy was damn lucky considering the damage to his bumper.

After receiving some calls and placing some orders Brian went out back to get one of the cars that were parked there. He drove it onto the auto lift and then had a look at the emercency break on the right back tire, which didn't snap back any more. It would take him a while to replace the cable pull so he decided to check on Angel first. He stood behind her and watched her for a bit and decided that she did a good job. He grabbed the bumper and nodded. "Good job. I'll take care of this and repaint it. Could you have a look at the emergency break of the Ford over there?"

Angel nodded, "Yeah sure Brian," she said standing as she looked at the car on the lift.
She slipped under the car and double checked the lines before she checked the brake pad on each wheel, they all seemed to be in working condition, aside from the fact they were used and would need changing within the next 6 months.
"Nothing too serious, if the brake system was giving them problems it's probably either a kink in the line in the engine block, or a clog somewhere," Angel mumbled to herself.
She wasn't good with the break system, all she knew was what to do when the e-brake jammed and locked down her back tires. It was a quick fix of shaking the e-brake before pulling it again and letting it slide back in place.
"Hey Brian, is this a pedal e-brake or a hand?" She asked her new boss, every car was different and most of the time the brake set-up looked the same to her, which was why she tended to steer clear of brake overhauls when she could help it.

"Hand." Briand replied before he showed up behind her. He pointed at the inside of the right back wheel. "It's stuck here. Can you see how this part doesn't get released any more? Compare it with the other side...there it's all the way back." He double checked the other side and then let his gaze wander over Diablos arms briefly. She had lots of colourful tattoos. "You're into tats, huh?"
