Examining her wounds as she rushed into the subway, Letty kept her dark eyes flickering between her bruises and who was walking behind her. Luckily, no suspicious men were in sight. Braga's goons were lost somewhere downtown, and for once, Letty was thankful that alot of brunette Latin women were out on the streets. Misguiding them was probably the best strategy she could have used during these rush hours, and they were her last chance. Finding a window of opportunity was nearly impossible, but when the chance appeared, she simply couldn't ignore it.
Getting into the train, staring at the windshields as the views changed, getting off and walking through the oh so familiar streets of Log Angeles...it all happened so fast. She couldn't believe she was home again. One racing car had crossed the main street and all Letty could have catches was a glimpse at the colorful design and beautiful smoothness on the road. Smiling to herself mischievously, she kept walking towards the near bus station. She needed to get a car as soon as possible, true, she had just regained her freedom, but she was a racer in her blood. Not even a million years in the enemies hands would have taken her inner flame and passion for racing.
Straightening her stinky black tank top on her merely visible abs, Letty walked out of the bus station and started to march towards the garage on a safe ground. It was hard to reject the urge to keep looking behind her shoulder for any unfamiliar face. "Get yourself together, girl." she encouraged herself and walked into the garage. Sounds of work and bending cans surrounded her for a moment, but as she entered deeper into the room, the sounds died out completely.
"Yo!" Letty growled and kept walking farther inside.

'Yo'? Who was coming in at that time of the day? "We're closed!" Brian didn't even bother looking up. Had he forgotten to close the front doors? Probably. The rain of the night had been welcome because it brought a cooler breeze.
He hammered away at the rusty bottom of the car bits and peices falling down. Brian spit out some dirt. This car wasn't even worth fixing anymore and why the guy had brought it to him, a performance place, he didn't know. Did he want a flying rust bucket. Steps on the floor let him know whoever was here didn't leave. His fist tightened around the screwdriver in his hand. He never knew when old shadows came to hunt him down. Slowly he rolled out.

"Seriously?" Letty's shoulders jerked as she laughed at the metal pieces that were falling on Brian. He didn't even look at her before blowing her off, she assumed it was way too late for him, and that it has simply been a long ass day. "You gonna blow me off for this piece of junk?" she taunted at him, realizing how bad her arms really hurt when her own laugh shook her petite yet firm body.
"Maybe I'll just go back to Braga then..." she said hoarsely, her tone semi-joking, but a shade of darkness crawled into his name as she mentioned the ruthless drug cartel. You couldn't go around mentioning his name back in Mexico, or else it would have gotten you into a whole lot of trouble. However, she was in L.A. now, and it was going to take some getting used to...

Was that really her voice? It couldn't be she was dead curtesy of the FBI and agent Brian O'Conner. Tired Brian rubbed the dirt from his face but at her next words about Braga was wide awake. Pushing himself out as fast as he could and, of course, banging his head in the process he shot out under the rust bucket and saw her standing above him. Her, Letty Ortiz, alive and kicking. Quickly he stood up and gawked at her with sheer disbeleive in his eyes. "Letty? You're alive?" He asked the obvious.

Waiting patiently to see the owe on Brian's face as soon as he'd realize she was really there, Letty simply stood next to the car with arms crossed on her chest. The sound of Brian's head hitting the car's bottom made her flinch and gag as she fought off an uproarious laugh.
"Didn't your mama told you it was rude to stare?" she teased him and slowly got closer and closer. "Letty? You're alive?" Brian's voice double-checked the sight his own eyes held. "Glad to see you too, man!" she finally opened her arms and wrapped them around Brian's torso, tapping on his shoulder-blades roughly. The smell of oil and dirt was too familiar, it hit her nostrils and pumped through her veins so fast, she just wanted to start her former life as soon as possible.

As soon as she hugged him he knew she was really there, not just a dream. Brian squeezed the living daylights out of her. He lifted her up. "Letty, you're alive!" He shouted in excitement. "We all thought you're dead. We found your car and some blood. OMG, I'm so glad you're here." He set her down on her own two feet and scanned her. Her face was thinner than before but still held all the attitude it had before. She looked beaten up, like she had on hell of a ride behind her. "Are you okay?"

Feeling Brian's arms slowly tightening around her without showing any signs of tenderness, made Letty cringe and sigh soundlessly in pain. She was still battered up from the car accident and didn't get any medical care, knowing that if she went into a local hospital it could have created her own funeral. "Yeah, well, I had to lay low for a while."
When her body weight was under her control again, she felt her feet suddenly touch the ground and Brian backing away as sounds of pure joy were rolling out of his mouth. "Takes more than a few drops of blood to finish me off, that's for sure. But I practically crawled out of there and just hid for a while." Letty reflected, she felt weary and stinky, but she had to know a few things before she came back to wherever to get a nice shower and some sleep. "We're like cockroaches." Letty shrugged and took a few steps back, finally sitting on this plastic chair a few feet from the door.
"So where is everyone?" she asked briefly, but the question held a huge meaning really. She needed to see her family, she hoped everybody were okay, she hoped they didn't split up.

Brian watched her sit down and became slightly worried. "We found a body in the car. The only way to identify it was by the blood near the car. I swear to you...if I had know that you escaped I would have search everywhere for you."
He leaned his hands on the workbench behind him and crossed his legs. "A lot has happened here. Dom and I tried to get into Bragas organization, we did and we put him behind bars but Dom did as well...The FBI is full of scumbags as you know." He took a deep breath and looked up at her. "You ok?" Then he continued. "Mia is at home tonight, so is Leon I think."

Images of her wrecked car on a darkened empty road floated in her mind as Brian spoke, saying how he had no idea that she was still alive, and that the body they found in the crime scene was convincing enough. "Its cool man, you didn't know." Letty replied quickly, feeling impatient and eager to hear what happened to the rest of the team.
She couldn't believe Dom and Brian got together again, she doubted Dom would forgive him after finding out he was under cover a few years ago. She could only assume that getting revenge on Braga was more important that the rage he felt towards Brian and his "double identity betrayal". As soon as the words sank into her mind, Letty felt her head becoming heavy and just buried it in her hands for a moment. Scratching her skull in frustration she slowly rose to meet Brian's eyes, the color was slowly running out of her face. "Dom is in jail?" the words trembled on her tongue, she must have misheard him.
"Brian, what the hell?" a flame of anger suddenly lightened in her eyes as she had heard his question. "No, I'm not okay. Not when Dom's in jail!" she spat fluently.

Suddenly it occured to him that he hadn't finished the story and led her to beleive that her man was still in jail. Before she could jump at his throat he held up his hands to calm her down. "Wait a second. You didn't hear the full story. Dom's not in jail. He was sentenced to life but we managed to break him out of the prison bus on the way there. Long story." He added. Briefly he touched her shoulder. "He's free, he's been hiding ever since but Mia can get a hold of him."

Soon enough, Brian spoke again, eager to cut her off and pour some light into the situation he had described obscurely earlier. A silk hope that he could make things look a little bit more optimistic gave Letty a strong stab in her chest. When he said Dom was no longer in jail, she felt like a massive burden was lifted off her chest, and suddenly she could breathe again.
Letting out a sigh of relief, Letty closed her eyes for a moment and then her eyes widened in shock. "You got him off the bus? Wow. Who knew jacking trunks would become handy some day..." she said ironically, yet there was some tension laced in her tone. She wouldn't relax until she sees Dom with her own eyes, until she felt him in her arms. Long distance calls or messages delivered by a connecting source weren't gonna cut it. The thought that Mia could reach him at any point was somewhat of a relief for now.
"Mia...how is she holding up by the way?" she asked quickly, knowing she must have opened a major Pandora box here.

"She's...I don't know. Maybe you should go and talk to her.ยด" He wasn't about to go into detail of everything that had happened in the past months or even year. Suddenly a smiled lit up his face. "She's got a surprised for you. C'mon." He wiped his greasy, dirty hands on his pants. "I'll drive you over there."
Brian turned off the lights and stepped outside. The sun was pretty low on the horizon and it would soon be dark. "Take a seat in my new car." he joked about the old rustbucket he was driving. "It's just temporary so hold your tongue, young lady!"

Brian answered her question briefly, not getting into much detail of what had happened during her long absence. He said Mia had a surprise for her, but Letty wasn't sure about it. She didn't do surprises too well, and she hated the fact that the team broke apart. Ever since Jesse they weren't really whole, and it seems to have gotten worse over the time.
"Aight. I hope you know whatcya doin', I was hoping for some head ups. But whatever..." Letty shrugged and got into the vehicle.
