This day was just getting better and better. Not only did officer O'Conner get an earful about chasing a car theive in his private vehicle and breaking about ten traffic regulations but also was his lawyer already knocking on the Miami PDs door only an hour after they had brought him in. Angrily the chief told him to sort out the mess and tell the lawyer to wait. The man hadn't even made a phone call yet. The chief wanted him to write down all the details, a report and get a statement- without the lawyer.
Sour about the 'unfair' behaviour of his boss Brian stomped down the hallway, pushed open the door to the interrogation room and came face to face with the thief and a woman in a expensive outfit, who was most likely his lawyer.

She was tired, in fact she was beyond tired, it was meant to be her day of, no work, no college, no nothing, just a comfortable and enjoyable day in with Jack. The race the night before, and then the after party had gone on to the early hours of the morning, and then she got the call, her first ‘case’ and she was needed down at Miami station. With a frustrated growl she got dressed, after a quick shower, leaving her hair down and curling naturally, she lifted her gaze over to Jack while slipping into her suit.
Dressed she headed to her car, breaking nearly every speed limit she could before stopping and parking. She was shown to her client and then given the low down on what he had done. Her brow rose ever so slightly, gaze lifting over towards the door as the officer came in. With a breath she stood, smoothing down her outfit, her hand out stretched. Cops just seemed to get hotter and hotter as the years went by. Offering him a large smile, dark eyes sparkling. “Faye Perez,” With a firm hand shake to let the officer know she wasn’t just a pretty face she lowered herself back down to the seat, waiting for the officer to start, all the while trying not to let her nerves show. The second he knew she was nervous he’d eat her alive.

This would be easy. The lawyer was young, pretty and her handshake a little too firm to be for real. Brian nodded at her. "Officer O'Conner. Miss Perez." he took in a breath but waited a moment. The name sounded familiar. Where had he heard it before? Brian had come across so many people and names in his career that he couldn't quite place it. So he continued. "I'm sorry but how did you know about this? Your client hasn't even placed a call yet...were you waiting just in case or already on stand by in case he got caught?" He gave her an evil smile seeing that he made her nervous. Then he stared down the fat, bald man , who wasn't giving up anything but stared back equally annoyed.

Faye rose a brow composing herself quickly “My client is the one being questioned here officer O’Conner not be,” She gave him a smile, her dark eyes sparkling as she watched him, head tipping to the side ever so slightly, “How I came to be here does not affect the case itself, so if you would please start the questioning”
She may have been young but she knew exactly why she was here, and it was because she was young, it was because she needed to learn to create a tough skin, it was a good thing she already had a tough skin, she doubted she’d do well other wise. Raising a brow she rested her hands on the table before her watching the officer carefully. “The charges are grand theft correct” She kept her gaze locked on the officer. He may have made her nervous before, but she was in her stride now, he wasn’t going to do it again.

So now she playing tough chick. Brian suppressed a sigh. After chasing this bastard down and getting a yelling from his boss the now threw a pretty chick with attitude at him. He rubbed his neck and looked at her again. "I'm sorry, Miss. We're not even ready for the interrogation, nor have we formulated charges. And let me assure you it'll be more than that." He now sighed when he thought about the cat and mouse game he was supposed to put on. "Would you please wait outside or come back later when I've opened the case?" His hand reached for the door handle to let her out.

Faye rose a brow shaking her head, laughing ever so slightly she tipped her head. Oh so they were going to play that game were they. “May I remind you officer that my client does not have to say anything without legal reprentation, and rest assured if you question him without me present ill have both your job and the case thrown out of court”
Heaving in a deep breath Faye looked over at her client with a smile, “And if you weren’t ready for integration my client would still be in a holding cell, now we can do this now, and save us both a lot of time or I can come back later, and I assure you until then my client wont say a word”
Swallowing her dark eyes turned back to Brian, one slender brow raised ever so slightly

So she wasn't that much of a rookie. How on earth did his boss want him to pull that off. "Okay, well, I'm not ready so why don't you go and get a coffee." Now the chance of the thief talking to him was certainly gone. Brian turned around and left the room.
He headed for his bosses office and entered without knocking. "Knock, damnit, O'Conner. Have you ever heard about that?" With growing annoyance the cop explained. "Sir, the lawyer won't lave and he won't talk without her so can I just interview him now?" "Couldn't you get rid of her? Damnit." He cursed again, then frowned. "Yeah, go ahead so I can go and play a round of golf." Brian bit back a comment and walked away to actually start the interview. With some papers in his hand he returned to the interrogation room. "So, now with your lawyer present." He quickly glanced at her. "What's your name again?" Quickly he started filling in the form. "The charges are the grand theft and resisting arrest. You were arrested while driving a stolen Mercedes SLK. Another vehilce was stolen at the same location. What's the name of your partner? What are you doing with them, sell them, to who?"

Faye didn’t do as she was suggested to do something was going of and she didn’t like it one bit. Obviously they were hoping the man at he side would confess all, especially if they questioned him without a lawyer in the room. She was new at the job sure, but she wasn’t foolish, he was in a room because they wanted to question him, hoping he would say something before he had the right to actually have his lawyer in the room. Once the officer left she turned her gaze over to her ‘client’ “You keep quiet and let me do the talking” She stated, before moving to get slightly more comfortable her dark gaze shifting as the door opened once more and the officer walked back into the room.
True to form her client didn’t answer the first question and she had to refrain from rolling her eyes, turning her gaze over to him she rose a slightly arched brow and the client rambled of his name. Licking her lips Faye returned her gaze over towards the officer with a slight smile across her face. “That’s a mighty big coincidence officer, a lot of cars get stolen on the streets of Miami would you like to pin every person who steels them as working with my client as well.” She tipped her head to the side, dark eyes sparkling as she continued to stare up at him.
“My client admits to the charges of grand theft and resisting arrest, but he isn’t working with any more, nor did he intend to sell the car, simply just take it on a joy ride, you see he wanted to impress a new lady friend of his, boys will be boys after all”

Brian watched her with little interest. So she knew her game and wasn't about to back up, newbie or not. That meant that he did get rewarded for hunting the bastard down but wouldn't get any further with his case. "Listen, lady. A whole bunch of expensive cars are going missing lately and I'm not buying that all these cars are just taken for joyrides and magically 'poof'" He motioned in the air. "Somebody's buying these cars, maybe even ordered them and there are more people involved than just your client." He leaned on his hands on top of the cold table. "Plus you admitted to theft a little too easy...makes me think you have something to hide." Pleased with his speech he crossed his arms in front of his chest and looked at her pretty doll face.

Faye rose a brow at the cop in front of her. She had walked in her with nerves eating away at her and now she was perfectly in her stride. Licking her lips she kept wide, doe like eyes locked on to the cop she had taken him by surprise, she could see it in his eyes. She wanted to laugh but figured it wasn’t gonna be very professional.
“the way I see it Officer Is your desperate, and because my client decided to take a fancy car for a joy ride, your trying to pin everything on him, your not getting anywhere, no leads and now your desperate”
Letting out a breath she settled back in to her seat and her gaze wandered over to her client, licking her lips she let out a breath, smiling at his words, “My client admits to the charges of grand theft” she shrugged one shoulder “there for there is no reason for me to plead his innocence”

It was her job but this woman was ruining his job. Something he had put a lot of work into and still gotten nowhere except for one meager catch and his brothers prints all over another car. It was an exercise of frustration. And this frustration was threatening to work its way out now. "Tell you what." He was now addressing the client, not the lawyer. "Since you confessed but are not going to give up your partners in crime I will make sure that you'll receive the maximum sentence." He let his words sink in. "But if you decide to cooperate we can cut you a deal that will look a whole lot better than 10 years in prison."
Slowly he turned back shooting Faye and angry look. "You might discuss this option with your client. Let me know!"
Briskly he got up and walked to the door where he was waiting for them to talk about his proposition. Out of the corner of his eye he watched the young lawyer. Under different circumstance he might have found her attractive, nice, funny, whatever but right now he despised her.

The man before her was pissed of, she could see it in his eyes, in every flare of his nostrils, he almost reminded her of…no that was impossible. The second his attention shifted from her to the man at her side she realized this, right here would be the big test on his loyalty. Swallowing she rose a shocked brow at the officer, he really was angry, and frustrated, which meant his boss was breathing down his neck.
Swallowing she watched as he left and then his gaze turned slowly over towards her client, her dark eyes were clear, he had known what he was getting into, he fucked up, now he dealt with it. Licking her lips she let out a breath, glad to see he was about to argue with her.
“he’s bluffing, you admitted to the crime, that’s gonna work in your favour, your record is almost spotless, good behaviour you wont see half of that time”
She turned to the two way mirror smiling obviously telling the officer they were done and he wasn’t getting anything.

Brian's palm was placed against the glass when he watched the man and his lawyer. Brian wasn't bluffing but they seemed deadset on not giving away any names. Somebody would probably have their ass if they did. Who knew how much the lawyer actually knew but with how quickly she showed up and how she was acting now Brian suspected she was informed.
Angry and tired her came back and asked. "So? What's it going to be?" The man remained quiet so Brian uncuffed him from the table and instead tied his hands behind his back. "I'm sure you'll love one of our famour state prisons...really great places to hang out."
He shot the lawyer another look and muttered. "Well done, sweet pee." Then he ran his hand over his head and grabbed the man by his arm.

Faye couldn’t help the frown that crossed her face, the officer was pissed, more then pissed in fact, she could feel the angry vibes washing of him in waves, and if her guy rolled this whole thing went down. Licking her lips she smiled tightly at him, sighing softly to herself, her first ‘real’ case and she had nailed it.
With a breath she shrugged her shoulders at the officer, dark eyes sparkling at him, “I simply did my job, if you don’t like that then that isn’t my problem” She stated with a shake of her head, once her client had ben pulled from the integration room she followed heading towards her car so she could go home.
