Mira sighed as she walked toward Brain's boat her heeled boats making a steady click as she crossed the docks. She had hardly been in Miami a week and her superiors already had her babysitting. She looked down at the piece of paper and picture she had in her hands. "At least hes cute." She thought outloud to herself.
Mira ran her fingures through her white blonde hair. She definaly wasn't the most intimidating person for the job but no one expected a petite little thing like her to be an undercover cop.
As she stepped onto the boat her mind raced at the though of all the possable things that were behind the door. She took a deep breath and knocked.

Another night shift, another day trying to get the necessary sleep while the daily noise outside was keeping him from dozing off. The knock on the door made the cop curse and pull his pillow over his head while he muttered. "Go away."
Of course whoever was outside wouldn't hear that. Brian had a sneaking suspicion that it was his damn brother again with another outrageous plan or maybe his bitchy lawyer girlfriend. Either way the visitor wasn't welcome and would soon learn that.
Grumpily Brian climbed out of bed in his underwear and padded to the sliding glass door. When he slid it open he came face to face with a strange blonde and suddenly wished he had bothered to put on at least some pants. Drousily he rubbed his face and asked. "Yeah? How can I help you?"

Mira blushes slightly. "Well good morning Mr. O'Conner." She looked him up and down. "I hope Im not distrubing youre sleep." She had not been expecting him to be mostly naked and it was throwing her off alittle. "We have some things we need to discuse. May I come in?" She tried to stay as proffessional as possably but it was difficult. He was a very good looking. She ran her fingures threw her hair nervously.

Confused he looked at her. "Do I know you?" Was this a good moment to run and grab his gun? Had his brothers stupidness already caught up to him or did she simply want to come in and screw around a bit? While those thoughts shot trhough his head Brian moved away from the door and let her in. "What do you want to talk about?" He asked and yawned loudly.

"No we haven't meet before. My name is Mira." She glanced around the boat then back at Brian. "So Mr. O'Conner word on the street is you have turned into quite the hot shot racer. One of the best around." She smiled and stepped toward him slightly. "Wanna tell a pretty little raced the secret of your sucess?" Her mind was racing as she stood there thinking of all the possable things that could happen while she was alone in Brian's house with him, both good and bad things.

"Seriously?" Brian raised his brows while he scratched his head trying to smooth out his hair. Either somebody was playing a prank on him or this girl seriously had the hots for him. Either way, he'd play along. "So the young racer being you?" he seized her up. She didn't look the type. Too petite, no grease under her nails. "I'm sorry to disappoint you but I'm no new hot shot racer." He went to the spot where he'd dropped his shorts and pulled them on. "Drink? I have coke and water and beer." While he walked over to the kitchen he asked. "So who sent you, honestly?"

"Coke is fine." Mira shifted her weight from one foot to the other. "And honestly no one sent me. I heard about you during a race a few nights ago and figured racing you might be a good challenge." She smirked. "Plus all the race sluts said you were hot." Hopefully alittle bt of flirtting would make it easier to figure out what he had been up to since alot of guys don't think with their brains.

"Is that what they say....those sluts." It was hard for him to keep a straight face. Instead of blushing he decided to make her blush for being so bold. "And what do you think?" He grabbed the can of coke from the fridge and offered it to her without a glass.
"You can't race me.." He sat down on the couch. "Because I'm not planning on racing any time soon...it's illegal, you know."

Mira blushes slightly and smirked. Well seems they were both playing the same game. "Well I haven't decided if they were right or not." She opend the coke. "Its only illgeal if you get caught. Can't you make an exception for a pretty girl? I mean what do you have to lose." This was becoming harder then she thought. Most guys all it took was a smile and a complement before they gave into her. He was good at his job thats for sure.

"You are a pretty girl but you didn't answer my question. Why are you really here?" Brian frowned slightly. You could have caught up with me at the races any night and callenge me. Why come here?"
That brought up another question. "And who told you where I live, honey?"

Mira stepped back slightly. "Well I'm not the most patient person so I didn't wanna wait." She ran her fingures through her hair nervously. That was really becoming a habit of her's. "As for how I got your address, well a woman can't be expected to give away her secrets can she?" She looked at him her mismatched eyes showing the very slightest bit of fear. "I've heard alot about you and I just want a race you. We can make a deal if you race me, I'll do something for you."

"Really?" Brian licked his lips with a smirk."What can you do for me?" He loved this cat and mouse game. Obviously she wanted him to race her badly.
"How about this. I know a track a little further north. I'll race you there and see what you can do." This way it was during the day and legal. Something seemed fishy here but he couldn't put his finger on it yet.

Mira blushes bright red. "I swear all you men are the same. You all think with your dicks." She sighed and composed herself. "....But if its what it takes to race you...." She could tell he was enjoying this.
She shifted her weight from one foot to the other. "That sounds good to me. I don't care if its a track or a street so it doesn't really matter. When?"

"Leave me your number and I'll call you and tell you when." Brian didn't want to make a commitment right now with Jack going crazy and his boss breathing down his neck.
Brian laughed at her blushing though. "Oh relax. trust me, I never had to bribe a girl into sex before and I'm not about to start plus you're not my type anyway." He raised a mocking eyebrow to let her know he wasn't serious. "So, tell me. What do you have for me?"

Mira rolled her eyes and sat down across from him. "Well I'll be damned. You're the first guy in Miami I have meet who doesn't need to pay for sex." She smiled. To bad he wasn't interested. Well and the fact she was assigned to watch him. He was the kinda guy she normaly dated.
"What do you want? Money? Drugs? Parts?" She tapped her fingures against her leg. She hadn't raced in two nights and it was killing her. That was what she loved most about being undercover. She didn't have to worry about losing her job if she was caught racing now.

Brian looked away. "You're offering me ..." Brian simply shook his head and looked away. Then he got up and left her sitting there. For a while he rummaged around, then return and placed something in the coffee table in front of her. "Maybe you should know who you're offering stuff to." On the table was his badge. "What do you do for a living? Deal with all crap you can find?"

Mira laughed. "Well damn caught me red handed." She reached into her pants pocket and pulled out a badge and set it on the table next to his. "Seems we make our livings the same way Mr. O'Conner." She sighed and ran her fingures threw her hair. "Why can't things ever go as planned?"

Brian squinted his eyes as he stared at the badge, then at her. He knew something was off about her but that wasn't what he expected. There could only be one reason she was here. His brother had left prints on a car and more cars went missing...this time from the police impound. He was in trouble. They had sent her to watch him.
Without many words Brian went to the door and said. "You can keep the coke...get out!"

Mira sighed and stood up. She ran her fingures threw her hair. "Look Brian our bosses just wanted to make sure you were staying on the right side of the law. If you want to be mad at someone be mad at them." She walked over to him. "I'm sorry but I was just doing what I was told. I mean personaly I don't think you would help your brother steal those cars. And if you did help him you wouldn't be stupid enough to get caught." Her heart was beating at what seemed like a hundred miles an hour as she handed him a piece of paper with her number on it. "If you're not to mad I really would like to race you."

Brian was upset...with the fact they had sent him a babysitter, who was obviously too dumb or inexperienced to stay undercover (not directed at you in RL!!), mad about his idiotic brother, mad at actually helping him and crossing that fine line...mad at anybody but her. Yet her didn't want to admit that so he simply stared at her with icy blue eyes while he was holding the door open. He didn't take her number but let it drop to the wooden planks.
She walked off his boat and Brian wished it was really all just about racing. Why had he fallen so low? As soon as she was out of sight he closed the door and threw his badge across the room. "Damnit, Jack. You and your stupid ideas."
Brian sat down to think whether he should quit right now, tell his boss about his secret plans to get to whoever hired Jack or kick his ass once again fro bringing trouble on him. He made a mental note to that tonight. Before he went back to bed he grabbed the number, Mira had left outside and pinned it on his fridge.
