"Good enough." She changed out of her uniform pants into a pair of jeans. Holding her phone like she was texting, she walked outside not watching where she was going. She ended up walking right into the guy falling. "Oh I'm so sorry." When he helped her up she quickly slipped his wallet out of his pocket and into her own. "Thank you." She smiled and walked over to Brian's car, where she slid into the passenger's seat. "There you go darling," The wallet was dropped onto his lap.

Brian was impressed with how cool she acted. No nerves, professional and the best thing was the guy had no clue. Browsing through the wallett Brian didn't expect to find a badge but some sort of ID. Instead he found and stamp card from the green been. "Bingo. That shop is right next to the FBI building." He shoved it back into the black leather wallett and bit his lip. "Why is the FBI watching me...or us?" Leaning his head against the headrest he looked at the guy outside who didn't seem to know what to do. Eagerly he was studying the paper, always reading the same page. After a while Brian opened the door. "Why don't I ask?"

"I don't know." She leaned her head back against the headrest. The FBI being around could not be good. It meant someone higher up on their side had his eyes on the case. "Would it have something to do with your last case?" She knew it was a sore subject to bring up but she have to ask. "Maybe you should. I don't want to be involved with the FBI." Turning in her seat she watched the man.

"I'll go." He gave her a quick kiss and then slowly got out of his car, walked by the stranger but turned when he had almost passed the guy who was still absorbed in the same news paper page. Brian cleared his throat. "Did you find anything interesting." Over the rim of his thin metal frames the guy looked up at him. "Pardon?" "You seem very interested in me, agent. Did you find what you were looking for?" Puzzled the man looked back at him. "How did you know?" The former agent laughed back at him. "You're about as subtle as a purple cow...what do you want." "Nothing." "Right." Brian frowned and sat down next to him turning just enough to reveal the gun in his belt. "I'm not going to ask you again. I thought we were on the same side." "I'm afraid this information is confidential. We're just making sure you know what side your on this time, OFFICER." Obviously he had fun stressing that Brian wasn't an agent any more. Before Brian could dig further he got up, passed by the Skyline and nodded at Mira.

Mira watched Brian talked to the agent. It was highly unlikely that they were going to get any information from the agent. The thought of calling her dad to see if he could find out anything crossed her mind but she decided that probly wouldn't help anything.
She stared at the agent in confusion. What was he doing here? Why was he watching Brian or the both of them? These questions and many more raced through her head as she waited for Brian to come back.

Instead of going back to the car Brian continued back to the boat where he waited for Mira. Things had taken yet another unwanted turn. One more reason for Brian to withdraw from the case if they already had people watching him. Was this really all about Jack though or maybe about whoever he was working for...or maybe about Brian?
Brian crawled back into bed and covered himself up. Whatever it was it would have to wait.

Noticing that Brian went to the boat, Mira got out of the car and fallowed. When she stepped inside and found him laying in bed again she frowned alittle. "What happened?" She sat down on the bed next to him, gently brushing his hair back from his forehead. "Are you okay?" Sure it was a stupid question but she wanted to know. She was concerned about him.

This new turn of events just added to his already anxious feeling. Things were constantly getting worse and now at his own doorstep. Annoyed he turned his head away from her hand and closed his eyes. A little too loud and snappy he replied. "No, I'm not. The fucking FBI is staking us out. Plus I'm getting sick and can't help you or Jack." Upset he pushed the blanket away and then lifted his shirt to look at the Swollen, bright red scar. "And apparently going to the beach and racing cars isn't the treatment of choice for this either." Brian didn't know why he was snapping at Mira who had been so understanding and helpful all the time. Hopefully she wouldn't run and hide.

Mira flinched back alittle when he snapped at her. "Sorry...." She pulled her hand back and stood. As she walked to the kitchen she bit her lower lip. She hadn't meant to make him angry. She leaned against the counter and stared out the window. It was best for them both if she gave Brian some time to cool off. The thought of leaving crossed her mind. She didn't want to go home and be alone. She was sick of being alone.

It took Brian a moment to cool down somewhat. Seeing Mira walk away gave him a hint of guilt. He had snapped at her for no reason but he was too upset and feeling tired and worn out to go after her and apologize. Yet he had to do something so he muttered. "Sorry."

Mira sighed softly as she watched the ocean out the window. "Its okay." She walked over to her bag and pulled out her lighter and box of cigarettes. With the two item in hand she returned to her spot leaning against the counter.

rom his curled position on the bed he watched her light a cigarette. Usually he'd ask her to smoke outside but right now he felt bad for snapping at her so he remained quiet and let his shirt drop down, then drew the blanket closer around him. Mira looked worried. Understandable. "Are you...afraid?" He asked. After all this was her first big case and she was going up against some big shot she didn't even know the name of.

"To tell you the truth I'm terrified...." She took a long drag from her cigarette and exhaled smoke. After she finished the last drag, she turned and looked at him. "I am completely terrified. This is my first case here and I'm pretty much going into it blind. I hardly have any information or leads. Plus I have the caption breathing down my neck." She sighed and looked at the ground. Things were building up and getting to be too much for the both of them it seemed.

"I think if they FBI is looking at us we won't have the case much longer anyway." Weakly he forced a smile on his lips. "I know what you feel like." Brian closed his eyes and tried to forget about the case for a while. "Could you make me some chicken soup by any chance?" It was a joke. There was no chicken, soup or even packaged stuff in the cupboard of the boat. "I'm sorry I've taken my frustration out on you. You didn't do anything wrong." Finally he had calmed down enough to be nice again.

Sighing she walked over to him. "Its okay." She sat down on the the edge of the bed. "I understand you are upset and frustrated." A small smile appeared on her face. "You need to rest Brian." Relieved that he wasn't mad at her, she laid down on the bed next to him.

"Hm." He muttered. It was nice to have her so close. For some reason it gave him a feeling of safety. Allowing his eyes to close he drifted off into an uneasy sleep filled with images of Jack, the FBI, cars and bullets and Mira. In this dream it was Mira who was shot by an FBI agent with no name or face. Just an unknown figure...the bad guy. Could it be that the FBI were actually the bad guys?
Not even an hour later he woke up sweat soaked and groaning her name. "Mira!" It took him a moment to figure out that none of the bad images in his dreams had been real. But why did they feel so real?

Mira had fallen asleep not long after Brian himself. She laid curled up next to him under the blanket, undisturbed by him. Actually she looked quite peaceful. Unconsciously she moved alittle closer to him, his presence was making her feel better after the rough day she had and he seemed to help keep her nightmares away.

Mira was next to him sleeping soundly. Carefully he touched her just to make sure she was okay before he rolled out of bed and walked over to the sink to get a drink of water. It was an effort just to get out of bed as he felt even worse than when he'd fallen asleep. Tired and sore he leaned his hands on the counter and shot a look out of the window to make sure the agent had gone. The sun had set and nobody was nearby so he went to the bathroom to get a cool washcloth for his neck. He flipped the toilet cover down and sat down to cool his face. For a moment he wondered what Jack was going through with a choice of being shot or in prison. So he quickly told himself to suck it up. Then he dialed his dads number to tell him what was going on.

After an hour of much needed sleep, Mira awoke. She opened her mismatched eyes expecting to see Brian. When she was greeted with the sight of the empty bed a wave of panic washed over her. Though it quickly settled when she saw his gun on the dresser. She knew he would not leave the boat with out it after what happened with Jack. Sitting up in bed she stretched and looked around noticing the shut bathroom door. She smiled a tiny bit and laid back down staring out the window at the night sky.

OOC: After a few hours? Have a fallen asleep on the loo?
The cold wall was a really uncomfortable place to sleep on but it was at least cooling him down somewhat. The pain in his neck would probably last for a few days because Brian had fallen asleep in a pretty awkward position with his head cocked back. It was a miracle he hadn't fallen off the toilet. Brian rubbed his eyes and pushed himself of from his uncomfortable position.
When he opened the bathroom door he looked as if he'd just been through hell and back when all he really did was fall asleep sitting on the toilet. Slightly embarassed he gave her a lopsided smile. "I got stuck on the toilet."
