Mira giggled alittle as she turned her head to look at him. "Feeling any better?" She yawned and sat back up, the shorter pieces of her white blonde hair sticking up alittle in random dircetions. Sitting cross legged in the middle of his bed she smiled. "What time is it? And is there any thing to eat here?"

Her questions made his head spin so he went to the bed again and sat down next to her. "No, no idea and no." Then he turned to look at her and brushed his fingers through her unruly hair. "You have a great out of bed look." His expression changed when he remembered the dream.

She blushed alittle. "Not as good as yours." She tried to hold back a laugh but couldn't. Noticing his expression change, her smile faded alittle. " You okay?" She reached over and held his hand interlacing their fingers. He seemed better then he was eariler but something she could tell something was still bothering him.

For a moment Brian looked at her fingers interlaced with his and played with the ring she was wearing. <was it just an accessory or had somebody special given it to her? What had he gotten her into? "I'm starting to wonder whether I should have never suggested that you take over the case. You'd be much safer just watching how I'm messing up." His eyes met hers. "I've ruined too many lifes with my job already." Silently he was pleading with her to give the case up hoping she'd understand.

"Brian don't forget its my job too. I choose to be a police officer just like you did. Whats done is done. The case is my responsibility now and now matter how scared I am I will see it through to the end." She gently lifted their interlaced hands and kissed the back of his. Her mismatched eyes never leaving his blue ones. "You are not ruining my life Brian. Hell since I met you my life has been alot better. I'm not alone anymore." That was very true. Since he came into her life she had someone to lean on and talk to. Someone she had very quickly learned to trust.

Her words were soothing but at the same time he knew she was slightly wrong about him. "You don't know the half of it. I'm sure my ex would disagree with you. If you asked Mia I ruined her life and broke her heart." He averted his eyes when he talked about Mia because he knew he never meant to hurt her but because of his job had to. "At least you know who I am right off the bat."
He grabbed her hand tighter and looked back up at her. "Drop the case, Mira. This one is too big for a rookie, you'll end up getting hurt. Be reasonable, please."

"Brian I'm not her. We are two different people, please remember that." She looked down at their hands. It seemed he still had feelings for Mia which scared Mira to no end. If Mia ever came back she worried at Brian would leave her for his ex. "Brian..." She leaned forward and gently pressed a kiss to his lips. "Are you really that worried? Don't you think I can handle myself?"

Brian kissed her back and honestly replied. "You can handle yourself. But this case is big. If the FBI is on us it means that it has international ties and spreads much wider than we thought. It's not a one man or woman case." He bent forward leaning his elbows on his knees and grimaced. "Jack only has a few days to deliver before they get rid of him and according to the guy at the race, Joker, they aren't even pulling the strings but they have enough power to make Jack shoot me...." He took a deep breath because his body was aching, his mind was going a mile a minute and in the middle of all this he was starting to fall for the investigator. Wrapping his arms around himself he looked back at her. "I've got feelings for you, Mira and I don't want to loose you, okay?"

"If its not then you can't work it alone either." She laid back on the bed and stared out the window at the night sky. She was getting alittle frustrated with him. First he wanted her to work the case and now he decided that he didn't want her to. She sighed and looked back at him. Deciding it was better to give in then to keep it up and have things turn into a fight she spoke softly. "I'll tell the captain tomorrow when I go in that I am dropping the case..."

Baffled he looked at her. "Really?" Brian had only ever know stubborn, unreasonable girls, who didn't listen to him. This was a new. "Wow, you truly are different." Slowly he rubbed his temples and then pulled his shirt of because now he was too darn hot when last night he could have sworn he's turning into an icicle.
"I'm not used to anybody listening to me."
A sudden noise outside made him flinch and jump up fishing for his gun. "What was that?" It had sounded like a loud bang but Brian couldn't quite place it. "Where's Max when we need him?"

Mira jumped alittle bit at the noise. "It was probly nothing..." She was tempted to get her gun but decided against it. "It wasn't anything to worry about Brian." She reached out and set her hand on his arm. "Relax." It was hard for her to tell him to relax when she herself was just as tense and on edge. "It was probly just a boat or something like that." Reaching she took his gun from his hand and set it back down. "If it makes you feel better I will go get Max and he can stay here with us."

For a moment Brian allowed her to take controll but when another banging sound made him turn his head he grabbed the gun again. "Better safe than sorry." He muttered before he pushed the sliding door to his boat open and stepped outside in only his underwear and the gun at aim.
It was still pitch black outside and nobody was to be seen anywhere. Adrenalin was shooting through him and seemed to pool at the small scar from Jacks bullet. The sensation made his skin crawl. Carefully Brian took another step forward and turned around to look at the roof of the boats cabin. It was empty.

Mira walked out behind him and wrapped her arms around his waist her chin resting on his shoulder. "See it was nothing. Now come back inside." She let her hands gently rest against his stomach as she hugged him from behind. "No one is out here and no one is gonna be shooting at us." It was easy to see that Brian was slightly paranoid, so Mira tried her hardest to relax him and get him to stop thinking about it. "Would it make you feel better if I went and got Max?" She asked as she nuzzled her face against his neck slightly.

Mira's calm manner made Brian even more nervous. Obviously she wasn't aware what danger she was in. Brian had been attacked so mayn times before that he almost slept with a gun under his cushion. Her calming tone had the exact opposite effect as he tried to focus on where the sound came from and a possible thread. On top of that she placed her hand on his stomach where the stitched up wound had become red and inflamed. Wincing he tried to keep his eyes trained on the large trash containers near the dock. Somebody could easily be hiding there.
"Go inside, Mira, and grab your gun." Slowly he stepped off the boat and towards the banged up metal containers with his gun as his only shield.
OOC: LOL-he's super serious...we're under attack, get the Kalaschnikov and she's like -twiddle dum, twiddle dee, should I have a strawberry foam bath or a Latte Macchiato?

Mira sighed and let him go. "Fine." She turned on her heal and walked back inside to her bag. After digging in it for a moment she pulled out her bullet proof vest and slipped it on making sure it was clipped in place before she grabbed her gun. As she walked out of the boat and back to Brian she slid the full clip in place.
OOC: She doesn't see the point of getting defense and nervous over every little noise. lol

His bare feet moved from the wood of the boat to the cold paved sidewalk. The gun at aim he inched closer to the large metal container only briefly looking to the left and right to scan the area for people. Nobody was anywhere to be seen, which was unusual. It was probably due to the fact that it was 4 am and most people were in bed right now.
behind him Mira stepped off the boat. To Brian's relief she put on her vest even though she thought he was crazy. Motioning for her to go around the other side of the container he stepped around the left side with the safety of his 9 mm thumbed off.

Walter had a habbit of messing with people and today was one of those times he wanted to make his victims a bit on edge. From the looks of things in the murky water, he was doing a great job. A few tossed rocks and a bit of paranoia factor had already set Brian on edge. The shock for him though came when the girl from the races stepped out of the house boat. Walter blinked under his scuba mask and eyed the federal issued ballistics vest. So she was a pig too, enteresting. He silently swam towards the side of the boat where it had been mored up, with slow intent he pulled himself aboard behind them and slid out of his drysuit in the darkness.
He kneeled and watched as they moved towards the metal container, a smile crossed his lips.

When Brian stepped around the container ready to blow a hole into somebody if need be he saw...nothing, well, he saw Mira coming from the other side but nobody else. Quickly he placed both hands on the edge of the container and pulled himself up to look inside but as it was to be expected it contained nothing but garbage unless somebody had completely covered himself in the stinking mess.
With a sigh he let himself drop to his feet and put the safety back on. Since there weren't any other cars parked nearby than his own he shrugged. "I guess you were right. False alarm." Was he really getting paranoid? Maybe. One thing was for sure though. His heat flushes were gone because even Miami could be really cold at night in the winter if all you've got on are your boxers. "Sorry!" He gave Mira an apologetic smile before he stepped back on board of his swimming home.
His foot slipped on the wet floorboards...Wet? Why? It shot through his mind.

"It's okay." She unclipped her vest and walked over to him stepping onto the deck. "What the hell? Why is it wet?" Getting nervous she reclipped her vest. "maybe a wave splashed up..." She was trying to find a logical reason for the water on the deck.

Walter slowly pushed the drysuit overboard and crept away from the puddle he had left. Calmly and quickly he pulled himself into a spot to watch the two investigate the water he had trailed onto the boat. From his perch he had a decent view of the deck and he began invetorying his gear. Without a second thought he brought out the silenced ACP and toggled the safety off. Making sure they didn't see him he dropped behind the two and rolled into the cover of the open room that they had left. His off hand slipped the folding blade out as he dragged it across the walls defacing the boat.
After only a few minutes he had desicrated Brians house leaving only a typed note reading, "Stay out of this." Checking that they were still outside he stepped to the edge of the boat and took careful aim at the two, his eyed fell on the thickest part of the female's vest. He knew the round wouldn't penetrate but she would have a nice bruise in the morning. He thumbed the hammer back and pulled the trigger. The second he knew the shot hit he stepped backwards into the water. Taking one large breath he dove under the water and put as much distance as he could between himself and his target.
