In order to get Mia and Jack off the hook Brian and Leon confessed that they broke out Dom because of the evidence/eye witnesses against them.
Faye acts as their lawyer but can only get Mia and Jack a deal.
On the way to the jail Brian tries to make a run for it but is caught by his former FBI boss Penning, who offers him and Leon to walk free if they find out how Braga still operates from prison and who are his inside and outside partners.
Faye finds out that Ashton is actually an FBI agent which makes it easier to pursue her love interest for Jack and call it quits with Ashton.
Dom makes his way back to the Fort just to find that two of his friends are now serving time in Lompoc instead of him. He reunites with Letty, who is also back.
Another unusual visitor shows up in LA: Rome, who meets the gang and bunks at Brian's former house.
After about one month of lonely prison days shit hits the fan inside when a few guys figure out that Brian used to be a cop and beat him up. Leon has to make a fateful decision: Keep going with their objective and get into Braga's circle of friends or help out Brian. He decides for the former. When Braga goes as far to order him to get rid of Brian and hands him a skiv he stabbs his friend.
He's now earned Braga's trust and gathers valuable information but almost kills Brian, who's airlifted to an LA hospital.
Upside of the medal for Brian is that he's out of Lompoc, downside is that he's lost a kidney. Penning manages to work his connections and makes sure Brian's a free man again but looses his badge.
When he's recovered enough to go home Brian catches some flak from Rome who isn't happy that Brian proposed to Mia at a desperate moment during visitation time in prison. Dom figures that Brian made her a target now because Braga has his ears everywhere. It's also not the kind of proposal he imagined for his little sister even though Mia seems thrilled.
Brian repeats the proposal after a nice dinner on the cliffs above the ocean and makes her even happier.
However Dom was right somebody (??) sends out some hitmen to kill Mia and even Ashton, whose new assignment is to protect Mia, can't prevent her from being shot. Brian and Dom shoot most of the hitmen while Ashton chases one and gets a license plate.
Faye and Jack hit it off (big time-read some of their steamy action on the rated M board) but Ashton feels the need to clerify his actions and tries to apologize to Faye. Jack, who had just promised Brian once again to stay out of trouble, goes and punches Ashton, who keeps his cool and drives away. Brian however isn't so happy about Jack and proceeds to deliver the punch, that Ashton should have thrown at Jack, when he finds out. Rome watches the whole display in amusement while Faye gets pretty scared by the acts of violence.
During a flashback Letty, who was held hostage by Braga and Fenix, when everybody thought she was dead, doesn't give away who sent her to Mexico. Braga decides to get rid of her by throwing her into a river at night. A fisher woman dives in to rescue her. Both women are then dragged out of the water by Jack who joined Brian in an attempt to find Letty.
They make it across the border but almost get caught by the border patrol while crossing illegally because Letty forgot her passport when she was kidnapped.
(Phew--wow, sore fingers...as usual guys, add what I forgot!)
