Her dark eyes focused on the screen in front of her. It had taken a while but she had finally found what she was looking for, a common name between Dom and Brian. She knew she could have asked Walter. He was bound to know something, but he was getting on the straight and narrow, and she didn’t want to bring him back into the fold. He had made a promise for them to start fresh, that he was starting fresh and she didn’t want to help him break it. Biting the inside of her lip she let out a deep sigh. She knew she should be heeding her bosses warning, she should be keeping her nose out of this, but whether she liked it or not, Dom was family. He wasn’t willing to help her, help him, so she was going to find someone else who could, and hopefully this Cole Peyton would be just that person.
Pushing herself away from the desk she checked her watch, 2 in the afternoon, lunch time. Closing down the lap top she grabbed her bag and flicked it over her shoulder as she headed out of the office. The coffee shop wasn’t that far from the office, but it was damn freaking good, and it kept her going. Hell the amount of hours she slept, or not slept as the case was, coffee got her through the day, and nine out of ten times the night as well.
Pulling her car to a stop outside of the coffee shop she headed inside, joining the line and quickly ordering her drink, extra strong. Turning away she stepped into the crowd, gaze wandering around to find an empty seat. “Shit sorry” She muttered as she bumped into a figure, she was more than glad for those stupid lids otherwise the pair of them would be covered in boiling hot liquid by now. Tilting her head slightly her brow furrowed, “Cole Peyton?” She questioned with a raise of her brow.

Cole spent the whole day up to this point recovering from his hangover from last night. Here he was, turning to the bottle to cope with his newly found stresses. Innerly, he was disappointed with himself for sliding this far down to a level he'd always look down upon. But in another sense, he didn't care, he had money, some fame on the streets, and was still a damn good driver, that's all he really gave a crap about these days, as harsh as that sounded.
He stopped in to the only coffee shop he went to in town and had his "usual" along with a sandwich. He gazed out to the outside world, lost in his own thought, when suddenly he heard his name. He turned to see who it was, no one he even remotely recognized. "How do you know my name?" He raised a brow at her. He then thought maybe she was a cop given how properly dressed she was, oh shit. Nonetheless, there wasn't much he could do now, so he just sat there and waited for her answer.

The guy looked older than he did in his picture, but then considering what he must have been through recently she couldn’t blame him. She had seen the look in Walters eyes on more than one occasion, she still saw it in his eyes even now. Looking around the coffee house for a moment she returned her gaze back to him.
“Im Faye, we er have a mutual…well mutual friends” So when it came to Dom that was stretching it quite a bit, but Brian was family, as much as family could ever be anyway, and Dom technically family as well, and god damn it she made sure she helped family out. Brushing a hand through her hair she looked down at him.
“Do you mind if I join you?” Her voice was soft as she watched him “I was hoping you might be able to help me, help them” She stated gently, readjusting her bag. So much for doing work on her lunch , but this was turning out to be so much better. She had planned on finding Cole that night at races, but this was turning out to be her sort of day.

"Mutual friends eh?" He cocked his head to the side a little, was she talking about Brian? Time would only tell, at least she didn't appear to be a cop, so that put him at ease a little bit.
"Go ahead." He motioned to the chair across from him. This seemed serious, and so he was almost immediately intrigued. "So who are these mutual friends?" He asked getting straight down to the point. He hoped Brian hadn't gotten himself waste deep in some more trouble, but that was his honest suspicion.

Faye licked her lips lowering herself into the seat opposite him the bag being placed by her foot, dark eyes flicked over his features for a moment. She wondered how he had gotten caught up in everything, in fact she had been shocked to find an ‘outsider’ in Brians little ring, or should she say Dom’s or was it Brian, she wasn’t even going to contemplated the complexity of that. “Brian and Dom” She stated looking over at him, she doubted she needed to give any more information than that, after what he had been through with Brian he wouldn’t need it.
“Seems like Dom has himself in some hot water, im a little worried that’s going to spill out to Mia, and to Brian” She stated resting her hands on the table. “Im gonna need your help because Dom is hell bent on doing this himself”

Her words resonated with him. Brian, no surprise. But Dom....Dom, didn't he hear that Dom was in jail awhile ago? Strangely enough, he never met Dom, but obviously knew who he was and had a respect for him in the racing scene. "Dom as in, Dominic Toretto?" He lifted an eyebrow. "I thought he was locked up?"
Mia, that was also a familiar name. She was the lady from his dinner with Stephano, the one he was worried was out to get Brian. Seemed like this Faye thought that he knew this family better than he actually did. They were mostly distant to him. Nevertheless, if she really thought he could be useful to them, then he'd make himself useful. "What do you need my help with?" He stated and looked into her eyes.

So he didn’t know Dom was out, biting the inside of her lips she sighed slightly her gaze shifting around as she looked around before returning her gaze back over towards him. Eyeing him, her jaw set she observed him for a moment before finally speaking. “Dom was released after Mia went to an old family friend. A family friend who has connections with the mob”
Shaking her head slightly she sipped at her coffee before setting it down onto the table between them. “I know what the mob are like, and I know that he didn’t do anything legal to get Dom out of jail, which means money was exchanged, and he’s gonna want it back” Dom didn’t have that type of money, which meant his life and everyone else’s life was going to be messed up, quickly.

At the word 'mob,' Cole's ears further perked up. Was this purely coincidental or did she know his involvement? She already somehow knew his name, so it wouldn't be a stretch to say she knew how he made his living. Cole immediately knew who that family friend Mia went to was, that explained her being at that dinner. He wasn't sure how much he could trust her with, so for now he kept the name to himself.
"So Dom and maybe everyone around him are in trouble with the mafia?" He sighed, she was telling him this because she was looking for names, and maybe even advice, she knew he was in with them, he was almost certain. Great, talk about a compromising position.

Faye watched him for a moment. She had learned to read people of the years, mostly from the training Walter had given her, and mostly due to her job, if you couldn’t read someone then there was no point in even being a god damn lawyer. “I know what the mob are capable of, they do nothing for free” She stated. She was still living with the nightmares of that day, even if it hadn’t been real, god it had been so real to her.
“How bout we cut the crap Cole” She stated leaning in ever so slightly “Dom is in trouble here okay, he’s just got out, he’s going to be thrown right back in or he’s gonna get himself killed” leaning back in her chair she let out a breath. “Now as much as it pains me to say he’s family, now I need names Cole, and I need them now”

Cole sighed and rubbed his eyes, here was someone he didn't know, who apparently knew everything about him, and now was demanding the name of, in essence, his boss. If Stephano found out he gave his name to some stranger, he'd probably have him killed. But, even with the few things he knew about Dom, he did know how close he was with Brian, and how easily Brian could get tied in with this. Not to mention how much shit Dom himself would be in.
He put his hands down on the table, checked around them, and leaned in close to her. He couldn't believe he was about to say this. "Stephano Dieseli, he's the man in charge of this mob. He was the one who met with Mia."

Faye understood all too well what position she was putting him in, but she needed to know. She waited patiently for him to give her what she so desperately sought, and was actually shocked when he did. Her eyes went wide for a moment and she committed the name to memory. She would do some look see into the name later.
“I didn’t think you would give me it” She stated gently, lifting her drink to her lips and savouring the burn as it went down her throat. She really needed to start sleeping. Heaving in a deep breath she let it out as she regarded him “You and Brian must be close. You know what can happen if this guy ever finds out you slipped his name” Regarding the male opposite her she offered him a kind smile.
“If it helps I wont mention your name.”

Cole's nerves were threatening to surface, what had he just possibly got himself into? How could he trust her? She definitely seemed serious, and that's what ultimately caved him in. If this group of people were in trouble, and it tied in Brian and god knows who else, then he felt obligated to put forth what he knew.
"Knowing him, I'm guessing they got him out with pure cash. Depending on how much, I don't know how you plan on getting them out of this." He said honestly. "I would think Stephano would've already made some sort of deal with them, I mean there must've been some gain for him." He further elaborated as quietly as he could.
He almost had to laugh when she mentioned him and Brian. "We've had our moments, but lately I've had his back and he's had mine." He let out a sigh and took a sip of his coffee. "Where is Dom, and Mia?" He asked somewhat out of the blue.

Faye nodded her head, “I had figured as much” She stated. “Money talks, when the legal system doesn’t” And wasn’t that ultimately why she had gotten into law in the first place. She had wanted to make a difference, and it wasn’t even god damn working. The innocence were forced to suffer and the guilty was walking free. And what she was thinking of doing? What did that honestly make her. She was thinking of breaking the law just to right a wrong. Shaking her head ever so slightly she frowned. Wasn’t that how everything started.
“For guys like him there is always gain. Dom doesn’t seem to know what, or if he does he wasn’t forth coming with me” The mob didn’t let that sort of money go, sighing to herself she lowered the coffee back onto the table, “And either way Dom is gonna end up dead, or back on the inside” She muttered, she wasn’t about to let either happen.
“Brian is like that” she stated gently, her gaze lowering down to the coffee which she was using to warm her fingers. Looking back up at him she frowned slightly shrugging a shoulder.
“Honestly I dunno. I Havent seen Mia in months and me and Dom don’t exactly enjoy each others company” Licking her lips she lifted her gaze fully, eyeing the male opposite her. “Thank you Cole, for being honest with me”

Cole nodded, truer words had never been spoken. "Money drives the legal system, politics, its all there is it seems." He had to kick himself for that, he was just as guilty as anyone else of being money driven, why'd he take the job with the mob? Oh yeah, money.
He furrowed his brow a little. "Odd, maybe he just doesn't doesn't want to think about the terms Stephano laid for him." He said with a bit of a grin. "He'll be in jail before he'll be dead. Stephano obviously released Dom because he was some value to him, whatever that is. I think he'd just kick him back to lockup before killing him." He said thoughtfully.
Cole raised an inquisitive brow at her. "So you're doing this for someone you don't like?" He said with a bit of confusion in his voice. "You're welcome, just don't leave me hanging."

Faye sighed slightly nodding her head “Kinda makes me wonder why the hell I even bother” Shrugging a shoulder slightly she let out a deep breath. She had wanted to be a lawyer for as long as she could remember, she wanted to make a difference, and she was damn well going to make a difference if it killed her. People deserved the truth, they deserved fairness, it was about time money stopped buying everything.
“Or Dom really doesn’t know yet” brushing a hand through her dark locks of hair she frowned “Either version I don’t like Dom deserves his freedom, he has it he is damn well keeping it without any attachments”
Laughing slightly she shook her head before taking another swallow of her coffee. “My brother Leon used to be in his little group” Shrugging a shoulder slightly she sighed, and look where that had gotten her brother. “Dom’s family” And didn’t she just hate it. Dom was an okay kinda guy she guessed, he just rubbed her the wrong way. “Dom deserves a chance, I couldn’t do it the legal way, this guy did it the illegal way, now Dom is paying the price, and im betting Mia didn’t even know what she was getting herself into”
Biting the inside of her lip she offered him a smile, “The last thing I would do is leave you hanging. You just helped a total stranger and put yourself in potential danger. You ever need something I owe you one”

Cole looked out towards the window and the back towards Faye. "Makes me wonder why anyone bothers." He shook his head and took another sip of his coffee. She didn't appear like the lawyer type to him, but looks were deceiving as he continually learned.
He sent an eyebrow up at her. "Dom better know, nothing worse then owing Stephano and not even knowing in what amount. He practically shuddered at the thought. Stephano was that type of guy who would very subtly let you know you did something wrong, but if you didn't pick up on it he would eventually blow up in fury. Bad things happen when mob bosses blow up in fury.
Ah, so that was her ultimate motivation for being her, she was concerned for her brother, amazing how those things worked. "So what is your plan, Faye? You do realize how much of a compromising position you're putting yourself in here..." He trailed off.
"Thanks for reminding me." He huffed. "Dom isn't a stranger, I've heard about him. He's not the same as everyone else. He's one of those 'tough guys' who will actually pick you up when you're down, so I've heard anyway."

Faye nodded her head slightly “I guess its because some of us want to make a difference, and when we do it makes it all worth it” Until the day they didn’t make a difference and then you were right back at the start thinking what was it? Why was it all worth it. Shaking her ever so slightly she draw the coffee back to her once more, sipping at the liquid.
“He seemed pretty sure he hadn’t got a clue, but then Dom wouldn’t confide in me anyway” She stated with a small shrug of her shoulder. Letting out a deep breath she tapped the table in front of her. Yea Dom wouldn’t confined in her if it was the last thing he needed, pair of them were just so damn stubborn.
“I know exactly what position im putting myself in” She stated, her words slightly harsh, “Sorry” She muttered with a shake of her head. Least she was putting herself in this position and not someone else. Yea because that had worked out so well last time. Heaving in a deep breath she let it out slowly. “Guys like that rely on money, respect and security” She stated. Shrugging a shoulder ever so slightly “Ill offer him one, and hopefully he’ll accept” It was a long shot of course but you never knew.
Dark eyes flicked up to him and she nodded her head, “Your right he does. He also puts you in some pretty shitty situations” Shaking her head slightly she brushed a hand through her hair. “But I hope he did it for something better than the thrill of it, or that’s what I keep telling myself”

Cole frowned just a bit a looked towards the ground, he certainly would think Stephano would've made clear the terms with Dom, otherwise, was it possibly Stephano made unclear the terms with him? He figured the answer to that was that he'd probably never know.
"I hope you do." Cole's eyes matched hers. "Don't underestimate how ruthless this guy is, I saw him kill one of his own just for greeting a guest improperly." He emphasized. He decided to leave out what he presumed was the murder of that "reporter" last week. He had already dug himself far enough in this. "Listen, he's got more respect than whats good for him, and he claims he has interest in the majority of the LAPD, so you're gonna have to think way outside the box to present him something worthwhile to him that isn't money."
He grinned a bit. "Like the shitty situation he's putting you in right now? Or rather, you're putting yourself in?" He said as a bit of a joke.

Looking over at him she nodded her head, her jaw locking ever so slightly. She had tried to stay away from the bad guys who wanted her dead and now, here she was, willingly putting herself in harms way? And why, for Dom? A guy she didn’t even like. What the hell was she thinking. Looking down at her coffee cup she forced the images of her past away, she knew all too well what the mob could do to someone. Lifting her gaze up and hoping she didn’t look as rattled as she was currently feeling she forced a smile to cross her face, “Im well aware of how bad things can get” She muttered, trying to keep the bite out of her voice. “I have a plan….sorta”
Laughing slightly she nodded her head “Or dragging his team into jacking trucks and then high tailing it out of the situation” She retorted with a deep huff, okay so she was still a little sore about all of that, hell she was still sore with Leon as well. The stupid idiot had gone along with it because, A. he had wanted to give her a fresh beginning, and B. he wouldn’t leave Dom to do it alone. Damn her brother and his morals.
“Im real grateful for this. If theres anything I can do to repay you, let me know”

Cole didn't really like the sound of the tone in her voice, she sounded like she was a little intimidated, but still determined. That mindset could only lead to trouble. Nor was he impressed with her answer. "Sorta? You sorta have a plan?" He shook his head. "You'll need to do a lot better than sorta." His gaze met hers.
He furrowed his brow a bit when she mentioned truck jacking, maybe that's what Dom was thrown in for, in which case he probably deserves to be in jail...in his mind anyway. "Is that what he was locked away for?" He asked.
Cole thought for a moment and then decided there maybe was one thing she could do for him. "There is one thing actually. When you do your research on Stephano, find out if he had hired any drivers previously, and if so, what happened to them. I would imagine you'd have access to much better resources than I'd have." He said thoughtfully. That was one thing he needed to know, what was this guy's history with street racing, if there was any history at all.
