Taya was under a car working on the transmission in her garage. THe car had to be finished by tonight and she was 95% of the way done with it. She had the radio turned up as she worked and came out from under it to take a break when she saw someone pull up outside and took a drink of her beer.

Dom felt like he had been going on cross country drive to circle through all those he knew. First off to make it known he was back, second off to find anything more about the gang of mobsters.
He knew visiting Taya was going to be tough, Letty's death took a toll more imaginable than ever on him, he wouldn't even guess what Taya was feeling from it. But, maybe seeing her and talking to her sister again would bring some sort of closure for him, probably not, but that's what he wanted to believe.
Assuming Taya still had her old shop, Dom brought his charger right up to the back door of the old address and stepped inside. There she was, working diligently on a car as she always did. "How's it going, Taya." He leaned against a lift looking down towards her.

Taya saw it was Dom and smiled to herself. She stood up and looked at him. "Hey D." She said softly. "Wish you were here a while ago....almost had a bit of a meltdown...so I came out here and wanted to work a little bit.' She sighed and looked down again. Fixing cars always helped her calm down, especially on a subject like this. Her and Letty just got to knowing each other and now she was gone...
She shook her head tears starting to form and walked towards the stairs to the loft. "Coming?" She asked him softly and looked over at him.

He was a little surprised at her casual reaction, but it was a welcome change from the constant overreaction of how he was out in the normal world. "Meltdown...'bout what?" He maybe could've guessed that, but he even he could appear sensitive at times.
He looked up at the loft and then at her. "Yeah." He filed in behind her upstairs. "So what's changed?" He said as his eyes looked around the place.

"You know what D." She said softly as they went up the stairs and shook her head. "Well I don't know everything about Brian and Mia, but I can tell you that you don't have to be the one to protect Letty's little sis anymore.' She smirked and took a drink of her beer as she handed him one. "

Dom looked out into the garage stable to avoid getting caught up in the thought of Letty, not that it was really working. What he would do to go back in time and bring her back...
"Good, cause they're in some big shit." He took the beer, ripped off the top, and threw back a few swigs. Her comment made him wonder if she really wasn't aware of the latest events, not just regarding him, but what some of his crew just got back from.

She nodded and sat down on the couch. "I know D, I know." She sighed and looked up at him. "Know anything about Cole Peyton?"

"You do, huh." Well that was a relief, he didn't exactly feel like explaining 5 years to her, whether it revolved around him or what he was told about Brian and the others. Her question came a bit randomly to him, he thought for a moment. "Never heard of him, why?" OOC: Just now noticed one of my posts was under Cole's account Damnit...

She sighed and looked up at him. "He's in with the mob or mafia or what the fuck ever. He was in a race with Manako and the feds caught up with them. Manako died and this Stephano guy is making him race for money." She stood up and pulled her hair back in a bun. "Elena's on the blacklist for impounding and I've had to hide her for the past few years. Had to run the blue junker you gave me." She smirked up at him and lit a cigarette.
"Anyway, Cole's the guy you get to thank for putting the pieces back together. But it doesn't help the fact that I'm 200 grand in debt for this place...." She shook her head.

Dom's attention was grabbed when she said 'mob.' The rest of it went in one ear and out the other. "This Cole guy drives for the mafia?" He confirmed, maybe this guy was his ticket to the head of the snake, or at least an insight into it.
He wasn't pleased to hear how far back she was on her debts, but nonetheless said. "It's just money."

"I'll lose my house and the shop, Dom. It's not just money when I need to to keep this place. Without it I can't function and you know it." She sighed and shook her head. "Yeah he drives for them." She said softly. "I lose this place I lose everything that means something to me. It's all I have left..."

Dom took another drink and bit his lip. She sounded desperate, but he knew as well as anyone that if a person was desperate enough, they could make whatever they need to have happen, happen. "Where there's a will, there's a way." He calmly stated and took another drink.
This mob driver she spoke of intrigued him a little, it also gave him an idea for how he could satisfy his debt. "I gotta meet that guy."

Dom huffed a little. "Shitty." He answered with a comical twinge in his voice. "Lompoc takes a lot out of you. You'd have to experience it to truly understand what it's like." He frowned slightly as he relived some of his recent experiences.
"How 'bout you?"

She sighed and shook her head. "Nothing much besides what I've already told you. Still racing with the blue junker and have to hide Elena half the time."

Dom grinned and shook his head a bit. That blue junker was pretty rare around here, not to mention worth a lot of cash, but he always knew Taya for having high standards, so he couldn't say he was surprised. "The heat too high on you or what?" He took another drink from his beer.

Taya nodded. "Was but now it's on some other guy who wrecked a few cop cars. Now I can race both of them." She smiled and took a sip as well. "as long as they don't find out one's illegal on the streets for half the shit that's in it."

"Heat comes and goes, one day cops are all over your file, the next they forget about you." He then chuckled a bit and said. "Unless you're me." "Everyone's car is illegal these days, all you gotta worry about is being in the wrong place at the wrong time."

"Hasn't happened yet so I better keep doing what I'm doing." She smiled and looked up at him. "I'm glad you're back D. Now things're starting to feel like old days again...but not totally."

He turned his head slightly at her comments. He wish it felt like the old days for him, but the true old days were when it was just him and his buds getting themselves in trouble, and Letty. Not him versus mafia madness. "Not totally is right." He mused. "I've got a long ways to go before I'm anywhere close to back to normal."
