The last couples of days were filled with fun for her and for Dom too, racing and enjoying something she never knew would be possible for her to do. She was at peace but there was one person always in her mind, not because she missed him but of how their world changed. She hadn’t heard of that particular person for the past two weeks since that night she came back from the ‘Luna Azure’. She blinked still looking at the ceiling in her bedroom and wondered some more… until she took a peak at the clock “Six o’clock in the morning and I can’t go back to sleep,” She could hear the snores of her brother next door. After giving some thought of what she should do next, she changed clothes and went straight to the kitchen and cooked something before heading out to the grocery store. Even when she finished buying what she needed a sense of déjà vu came over her as she entered the parking lot.

Even though it was very early in the morning Brian was already up and running around as if it was midday. With Mira and the kids still in the hospital he had some time to get the new apartment ready but not a whole lot. He wanted them to have a good start into their new life even if he didn't have a job at the moment, not did Mira. At least a home needed to be there for everybody to settle down. The former cop had found a few decent pieces of furniture at a yard sale, which even included an old fridge but now he needed to fill that fridge, especially because going out to eat quickly gobbled up more of his money than he could afford. With bags full of groceries in his arms he left the store. He could barely see over top of the brown paper bags but that dark haired, longed legs woman in front of him still seemed awefully familiar. "Mia?" He called out across the parking lot. When she turned around he knew he hadn't made a mistake. It was really her, and boy oh boy did she ever look good. Like she'd just been on a vacation. Brian on the contrary wore the signs of not enough sleep, a brother who blew up his own place out of paranoia and the fact that he didn't have a job all over his face. It seemed like he had forgotten how to shave or brush his hair but the same old smile still lingered on his lips when he greeted her.

She turned to see who was calling her and had to stop when she identified Brian. He was only a few steps from her, he seemed different, his appearance, and those eyes at the moment looked sotired. She offered him a quick smile. "Hey," was all she could say, but her feet wouldnt move. She still felt a little weird or was it uncomfortable around him, it was like a stranger and yet she was the one person that knew him very well and not even Mira could know him the way Mia did.

"Hi." He closed the distance between them and wondered whether it would be okay to give her a quick kiss on the cheek. Given their strange last meeting he decided to simply hug her and then say. "It's good to see you. You look great." He complimented her before taking a quick look at her groceries. "Wow, that's a lot. Is Dom living with you?" His own bags were quickly set down because he could barely see her over top of them.

The moment his arms were around her, from the top of her head to her toes she tensed but didn´t push him away. "Thanks," was her first answer to his compliment. "and you look like hell," nothing but the truth came out of her mouth.
Her eyes travel down to the bags that her hands were holding. "Yes, he is... looks like you have lots of groceries too," she placed her own bags in front of Brian´s, a way for her to create a small barrier, she rubbed her arms trying to ease the little pain that came with walking with all those bags.

He could practically feel her tense when he hugged her so he let go as quick as he could. Apparently she took their last meeting more to heart than he did. Brian couldn't help but smile a little crooked at her comment that he looked like hell. "Yeah the past while has been tough." He admitted. "The trial was last week...it's been postponed though. At least I'm not in jail yet...but I guess you know that if you and Dom are living together." He assumed that Dom had told his sister about the shooting at Brian's trial unless she had asked him not to mention the ex-cop whatsoever.
Brian followed her gaze to the bags. "Yeah, Mira gave birth so I'm trying to fill up the fridge before she comes home." Again an insecure smile passed his lips. He knew Mia wasn't a fan of his decision to be with somebody else but now that his babies were born he had to be able to talk about them with her.

“No, I didn’t know” and it was the truth, his name wasn’t mention when she was around Dom or at least that day that when Dom came home from jail he tried to get some answers from Mia about what had happen with her and Brian, but she ignored Dom and didn’t say a word about it.
A quick smile appeared on her thin lips. “Congratulations, I’m sure you´ll be an awesome dad,” the word felt so strange coming out of her and because of his children and Mira she took the decision to not become his friend as he once suggested…
How could she do that when back in Tokyo she confessed to him that she still had feelings for him and the decision she took back then was stupid because she was not thinking of the consequences and to be his friend meant to see every day what she regretted to let go. She cleared her throat “What’s his name…or is it her name?” referring to the baby.

It's more than obvious that hearing about his babies made Mia uncomfortable even though she didn't let it show. Had that been something she had in mind at some stage in their relationship?
Brian quickly snapped out of his thoughts and explained. "Both actually. They are twins. " (OOC: And have no names at the moment).
He couldn't help but smile at the though of his son and daughter despite what Mia might be feeling. "They're tiny." he motioned a handful with both hands.
For a moment an awkward silence fell between them so he picked up her bags and offered. "Let me help you with those...so, is Dom good? Is he really completely off the hook now? No more running." the thought alone and the fact that his own trial still had to be concluded gave him a little sting. "Lucky bastard, what does he do now?" Dom seemed to be a better topic than Mira.

"Oh," she said when Brian mentioned his twins. The silence was broken when he offered to helped her. "No, it´s ok." she started to say but Brian already had two of the four heavy bags in his hands. She led the way to her car and open the back door placing the two bags in her hands.
Lots of questions she didnt feel like answering plus she didn´t want Brian to know her brother was back into the racing world and on top of that she was also racing, she didn´t care what Brian thought of her if he knew...but Brian...he just.. wasn´t family anymore (at least to her), not even in the friend category of the Toretto family. "He is good, too many questions that I won´t answer. Why don´t you ask him yourself," her voice was so calm, she knew he was going to get a little frusttrated because she had the answers.

Brian placed the bags in her car for her but her words baffled him. She seemed calm but knowing her the ex cop was aware that she was boiling under the surface.
"I'd ask him if I knew his number. Why so hostile?" He asked flat out. Brian had never been one to tip toe around a problem. He was more of a sledge hammer kind of guy. it wasn't really Dom he wanted to know about but her. Admittedly he was interested in the garage that Dom was working at and whether it held a job for him but that would be something to talk to him directly about. His eyes narrowed a little while he was waiting for an answer. The rest of the bags were still sitting in the middle of the parking lot.

"Thanks," he finished placing the bags in her car. "Brian, you know where we live and stop overreacting," she knew where he was going.
There was still silence, so she turned around to see him sending a shiver down her spine that she hid pretty well, she could tell he was mad, everytime they had an argument the color of his eyes would change to a more light color and a frown would form in his forehead.

And there it was again. That hostile tone in her voice. Mia looked just the same as she always had but her attitude towards him had changed a whole lot and Brian could only assume it was because he was dating somebody else. Yet he wanted to console her and make her stop the attitude. Swallowing hard he said. "Don't be like this, Mia. Just tell me what's bothering you and get it over with." Weeks had passed since Toyko and the tension was still lingering between them. If she chose to ignore him now he'd have to come to terms with it but Brian would prefer still being friends or at least being able to interact normally.

“Don´t be like what? Nothing is bothering me; I have nothing against you being with Mira, you´re a father now,” she closed the back door and turn to him.
“Why should I be bothered? I just think that… going to Tokyo was a stupid thing to do,” Of course it was a stupid thing to do for her because she had another scenario in her mind, she had in mind what she was going to do once she saw Brian, because she now cherished what she one day let go and it was a shock to find out he moved on which was the right thing to do, but why didn´t he fight for her?
Her pride wouldn´t let her pick up the phone to give him a call and let him know she still loved that man but even if she swallowed her pride now, things weren’t going to be the same or normal as before. Why cause them more trouble? Why cause Mira a bittersweet moment by being friends with Brian? She was sure Mira would have no problem that is until Mira found out about who Mia really was and that she was once involved with Brian.
That question kept hunting her ´Why didn´t he fight for her?´ If he loved her… She looked like she wanted to ask the question but kept her mouth shut. Out of nowhere another customer exited the store; the woman had a shopping trolley full with groceries and a 1 year old little girl. The little girl focused on Mia sending her a sweet smile and clapping her small hands. Mia had to smile back at the toddler, the mother turned to see Mia and smiled too as she picked up her daughter placing her on the back seat making Mia´s smile fade.

The first few words down seem very honest considering her tone, the next one about Tokyo is more credible. "It wasn't stupid. You wanted to help me, which is very kind of you. You just had something else in mind as far as I understand." He watched her gaze glace over and watch a mother and her daughter for a moment. Only when she snapped back to reality he added. 'I'd like be able to still talk to you, Mia. Normally I mean. The racing scene here is not that big and we will bump into each other every once in a while." That was only half the truth though. "We've both moved on, can we just be friends now?" He wondered. Even if he wanted to be more than that, which he wasn't even sure about, he could not allow himself such thoughts. To think that Mia simply never wanted to talk to him again was something he wasn't willing to accept. "Even if you don't want to be friends...let's just be civil, okay?" He swallowed hard because the situation was starting to become awkward. So he grabbed his bags but still waited for her answer.

She sighed out loud and shook her head softly. Why couldn´t he stayed in Tokyo or in Florida? That would help a lot, so they didn´t have to bump into each other. He was right about moving on and had her full attention when the next question came ´Can we just be friends now?´ What was that supposed to mean?
Lots of thoughts were going through his head, that look, that frown on his forehead. It scared her to know how well she knew him. "I´ve always been honest with you and you know what my answer will be about the frienship, I don´t want you to have problems with Mira, I´m pretty sure if I wasn´t your ex and just a friend everything would be fine between us but we both know how she feels about me," and Mira let her know that time when they first met on Tokyo.
"I don´t want to be responsible if something happens between you two and on top of that your Dom´s friend" she pulled the keys of the car out of her purse. "about being civil... I´ll try," she unlocked the car and before she got in she turned to Brian. "But again, don´t get your hopes up and congratulations on your twins,"
Thank god she never removed her sunglasses even though her voice was crystal clear when she talked fresh tears burned at her eyes, so when she said her goodbye to Brian it took a lot of her not to break down because every time she talked to Brian at the end of the day she felt exhausted emotionally.
