Zach wasn't the kind of guy who was huge into the street racing scene, hell, he often preferred the typical quarter mile strip, but every now and then he'd give into temptation. A text from an acquaintence of his offered him the directions, plugged into the GPS, the black Roush sped through the side-roads of LA, exhaust roaring no matter how slow or fast he drove the car. Double checking the directions, the man flipped on his stereo, ACDC blaring throughout the cab before he rolled down the windows and continued on. If anything, at least showing up would give him an idea if anyone out there were running any cars worth a run or two. No, he wasn't a street racer, but he definitely was a part-time gearhead when he wasn't working on some new contract, and he had just finished tuning the Mustang all of a few hours ago. To him, there was then no better excuse to take up his buddy's offer and head out to the local scene.
A sound came over his music though, just barely enough to catch his ear. Turning down the music, Zach caught the sounds indicative of a race, those being loud exhausts and spooling turbos. Smirking and knowing that he was definitely about to be in the right spot, the good ol' boy gave into a bit of show boating. Sitting at an intersection joining into the street that the several racers had come together for their own impromptu show and races, Zach pressed the clutch and shifted the black Mustang into first. Releasing the clutch and pressing down on the gas, his tires instantly started to spin, pushing both Zach and car into the intersection while he steered left, forcing the car into a fishtail. Countersteering, the car continued to slide sideways before Zach let off the gas enough for the tires to catch traction and slingshotting the monster of a car forward.
Chuckling to himself, Zach couldn't help but wonder how the car looked, a low sitting, black, brand new Roush roaring with the whine of a Kenne Bell supercharger and full SLP exhaust sliding oh so perfectly through the turn. But, he let off the gas as he approached the crowd, pulling off to the side not too far off from where Brian had parked his BMW. Setting the vehicle into neutral, he pulled the parking brake, turned off the ignition and stepped out. Cowboy boots clicking with wood heels on the pavement and the street lights shining off of his faded leather jacket, Zach only smiled to himself, giving a half wave to a few familiar faces before pulling out a pack of Marlboros and lighting his second unhealthy habit, the first being driving too fast for anyone's good.
Scanning the area, Zach scoped out the various cars gathered, plenty of import tuners, a handful of domestics, and even a supercar or two. If anything, the crowd seemed decent, hopefully the cops would leave it alone. He'd only been in LA for a few months, and from what he'd seen, the cops were all assholes when it came to cars. Zach thanked his lucky stars for having two residencies, the Indiana plate on the back of his Roush securing him the safety of being able to modify his cars any which way he wanted without having to worry about California emissions standards. So, what he ultimately wondered, is if anyone would actually bite. From what he understood, these particular meets were the big roller sort, three to five-thousand dollar races, the kind of stakes he liked. Checking his back pocket, Zach feigned the motion as if he were checking for his wallet, but instead, he was making sure the 1911 he kept hidden in his concealed-carry holster hadn't shifted during the drive. It wasn't that he was going to be looking for any trouble, but he'd found himself near a few instances in which stresses had boiled over to the point of exploding. IF he raced tonight, he didn't want to risk being on somebody's wrong side without some insurance. Standing beside his car, Zach continued to smoke his cigarette, eying a few nearby cars in the process.

Things were starting to pop now and as more people pulled in the more antsy Tessa got. Bouncing around on the balls of her feet, eyes darting around, trying to take in all the action around them. This is when things started to get exciting and the young brunette thrived on it. Her blood pumping to the beat of the the music blaring all around them. Nights like these were what she lived for. Opportunity was everywhere. She'd already made a 10K profit for the night and if she played it right, she could go home with even more.
The prospects of running a race were viable for Tessa as well. There were some comparable cars in her class out there. But, unless someone really made it worth her while, she probably wouldn't race. Not that she couldn't drive because she could. And she could talk about the mechanics of an engine with the best of them if she wanted. After all, she did have a degree in engineering, she knew her way around all things mechanical.
For Tessa though, she got a thrill being in the crowd of people, the excitement. Trying to out think the others. Who was the best driver, which was the best car, what was the best combo of car and driver. It was more than just speed that won a race. There were a lot of variables that went into who crossed that finish line first and Tessa liked to try and puzzle out the winner before it happened. Most of the time she was right on the money, she just had a knack for it. Between racing, poker and hustling pool, it kept her flush with cash where she didn't have to get a "real" job for the most part. So, she couldn't complain.
People were talking all around her as she soaked in the conversations. Listening, sorting out if someone was talking to her, then picking out bits of others if it seemed interesting and letting other pieces float by if they didn't seem relevant to her.
When the name Jack came up, who Tessa only knew of one that Shawn had his abrasive friend Jack, but it seemed there was another Jack a bit more popular around these parts. Cole knew the man and so did her roommate it seemed. Turning to Piper she gave her the eye with a brow raised.
"Who the hell is Jack O'Conner? Someone I should know?"
Everyone seemed to be getting along. Shawn looked like he was sliding right into the crowd and making friends and contacts. That was good.
Just as the conversation was turning to whether there was going to be more racing or not there were the sounds of roaring engines and some more people making their way into what was starting to look like the hub group of the evening.
Another guy who obviously knew Cole and apparently had something to do with the O'Conner guy or maybe he was the O'Conner guy. She wasn't sure. He had heard when Piper mentioned Jack O'Conner's last name at least.
Tessa stayed quiet for a bit as she watched and sorted things out as their little group started getting bigger. Even Letty made her way over to them. Then it dawned on Tess. Things clicked a bit into place. This guy was an O'Conner all right, he was part of Toretto's crew. That much was plain when Letty came over and greeted him. Brain O'Conner, the one time cop turned street racer, turned, legend. At least that's how the stories go around this place. If Tessa had to guess, whoever Jack O'Conner was, she was pretty sure he was related to Brain. Since they both seemed to be in good with Cole.
Tessa was smiling, enjoying the socializing. Talking with people, taking a look at the cars and sizing things up. Her mind was always working though. As each an every one of the cars came in she assessed both the car and driver. Filing things away in her mind for future reference.
Soon a black Roush Racing Mustang made it's presence known in no uncertain terms. Tessa couldn't help but twist her head around to follow it's progress as it made it's way into the thick of things. Parking near where Brian had just left his car. Tessa's gaze held in that direction. Watching as the driver got out and lit up a smoke. The picture of confidence. With a bit of a smirk on her face she said to no one in particular, but loud enough for them all to hear.
"Well, well, well. Look what we have here. More fresh meat."
The fact that the car had Indiana tags hadn't escaped her notice. Her keen eye was still evaluating. She didn't quite have enough information yet to tell if this was a really fresh newb or a wolf in sheep's clothing. Time would tell she supposed.

The world really was a small freaking place.
Although Shawn's Jack wasn't the same one she'd inquired about, it soon became obvious that Cole knew O'Conner. Turning to look at him as he asked his own question, the dancer grinned and gave a shrug of her shoulders. “Yeah, I know Jack...” she started to drawl out just as another handsome blond joined them and Cole was instantly distracted by greeting the man. Her roommates words simply had her shrugging her shoulders and grinning a bit more. She had yet to tell the brunette about the incident a few nights back, preferring to keep the details to herself for a bit.
Switching her attention back to the two males greeting each other, Piper watched silently, studying them.
Another O'Conner? Damn, either it was a common last name or she just happened to be at the one place they all liked to haunt. Something about the man though reminded her of Jack and she idly wondered if this was the older brother who'd lent him the car in the race that won him the Evo. Observing him casually for a few moments, the dancer gave him a friendly nod when he looked her way before glancing back at Shawn with a chuckle at his words.
“Yeah, there is that.” she told him. “I might check out some of the competion myself but tonight might just be observation. It wouldn't be fair to y'all, after all, if I took all your hard earned cash. Everyone knows I'm a fair sort of lady.” she finished with a wink at the guys.
Catching sight of another person joining them and speaking to the tall blond, Piper glanced over again to see the Letty woman shaking her head but smiling. Evidently, she knew these guys and that made the dancer more curious about the circle she was hanging with. Then, the blond's words made her grin as she shook her head. “Hey, I know better than to bet against a sure thing. If its a just for kicks race, I'm in but I'm sure I'm nowhere near your guys level.” she got out before noting a sleek black Roush pulling in. The thing was so shiney it nearly blinded a girl but Piper had always had a soft spot of American made cars.
Tessa's words made her laugh, however, and she shook her head. “Damn woman. Don't scare him off. He might have deep pockets that need letting!” she teased, giving man an friendly grin before turning her attention back to the car. Forget how good looking the guy might be. For Piper? It was all about the car he drove.
Well, mostly anyways, she decided as she remembered Jack and then leaned back on her Charger hood.

Once Brian was done exchanging a few kind words he turned his attention back on the other drivers. Most of them head never seen but that wasn’t a big surprise since he hadn’t been in LA for a while. It was good to be back home even though the faces had changed slightly.
He overheard a dark haired girl and a blonde one mention his last name every now and then but when he listened more closely he found out that it was really Jack the two were talking about. Now women talking about his brother was nothing unusual but lately the talks about him had been of the dangerous kind so Brian couldn’t shake the cop in him. “Do you two know Jack?” He asked with a friendly smile.
If so they were most likely some of the lucky ones who were blessed enough to have spent a night with his infamous younger sibling. Their conversation trailed off to racing, which wasn’t a bad topic either. Maybe Brian would even put Coles car to work tonight, if he let him. “Any objections against me racing tonight?” Brian wondered. If Cole didn’t object Brian wouldn’t tell him which car he actually wanted to use.

Dan was officially beginning to stress. He had been out of a job for going on 3 weeks and he still hadn’t received a call back from any of the companies he had applied to. Since quitting he had been spending most of his days working on his project car, applying in mass to jobs on Monster, and racing at night to pay what bills he had. Tonight he found himself in his garage hunched over his project car, a Porche 944 he had bought cheap which he had done a V8 swap on…the outside was still ugly, but it was a hell of a ride. He had the door to his garage open to let the crisp night air cool off his work area. Tonight he was installing a set of new race seats in the car, he had been at the project for about 45 minutes and was about to tighten down the last bolt when a familiar noise hit his eardrums. “No way that’s just one tuned out import” Dan thought to himself lifting his head out from under the driver seat of his car looking for the source of the buzzing exhaust sound. Then quickly 6 cars went blowing by his garage in blurs of color. No doubt in Dan’s mind, they were racing or were headed to a place where there were races. He quickly tightened down the last remaining bolt on his new seats, grabbed his keys from off his tool box and brought the 944 to life and tore out of his garage in pursuit of the tuners. The project car handled great but still had the ugly bland factory paint and body moldings. Dan quickly caught up to the tuners that had passed his apartment and stayed about a car length behind the last one in line. He had no idea where there were going, but he had a feeling that there was money to be made there. Dan eventually was able to see where they were headed. There was a whole mess of cars everything ranging from entry level tuners to some crazy exotics. Dan had no idea how he hadn’t heard this meet up was going on, but he was glad he followed his instincts and trailed the tuner group. Dan found a small spot to park his 944 on the edge of the large gathering overlooking most of the cars with very little of the get together behind him, had to be ready to run if the police showed. Once he flicked his engine off he reached into his center console and removed a roll of bills. Just in the instance he happened to find a willing sucker that thought he could out race his very much stock looking 944. “Damn there are some really nice cars here.” Dan mumbled to himself overlooking an exotic Koenigsegg CCXR further into the crowd of cars. “Don’t see that everyday,”

"No kidding, huh. Jack and I had quite the expedition a few nights back." Cole chuckled briefly and left it there. Though it really wasn't a laughing matter so much, both of them are probably ridiculously lucky they're still breathing, Jack especially.
Brian's entrance was less than expected to say the least, he would've assumed that Brian had too much buzzing around in his mind to even consider wasting time on a night out. The older O'Conner sulked for as long as Cole could imagine any grown man could. Hell, if it weren't for Mia lending him a shoulder to lean on, he probably would've lost it by now.
Nonetheless, at least his offer was being put to good use...for better or for worse.
"Hey bro." Cole clapped Brian on the back as they embraced. "Just couldn't stay away, eh?" The younger blonde took a quick read of Brian's eyes, which looked drained but yet had something of resemblance to the look the ex-cop had around the races. Cole could only hope that Brian would find a little relief here, he knew it sure as hell provided the break he needed. "Do your thing man, that M3 is a pretty capable machine." He glanced back to his M3 Brian referred to just in time to see a spiced up mustang park by it. A Roush too, not the predictable GT500 that he was used to seeing wrapped around trees. Cole had the thought that this might be the first night in history where the domestics outnumbered the imports. Wouldn't that be a welcome change, though he was an import guy himself for the most part.
Only briefly did he glance at yet another women who joined them beside Brian. Brian apparently knew her quite well, and then he heard the word "Letty." Wait, was she the one that Dom talked about before, the one who was supposedly murdered or something like that? Either way, he felt a little out of place asking anything about it at the moment, so he made a mental note to ask Brian about it later.
His mind was still operating in a competitive spirit, especially when Shawn mentioned the idea. When the opportunity presented itself, Cole side stepped towards Shawn and with a bit of a muted voice said "I get the sense that you're quite proud of that Challenger, and for good reason. What do you say we throw down a couple grand and have a little fun?" The blonde said with an inviting smirk. "I'm the one who has all the dignity in the world to lose after all."

The Roush got a few looks not too long after Zach had parked, several passerbys and even a couple folks stopped to look at the car, admiring it and asking the man a few questions about it. Of course, Zach was altogether silent about the car, just smirking off questions about what exactly was done to it and shaking hands as the spectators moved on. What he didn't quite realize though, was the small group of folks whose interest he had managed to catch in his arrival. He managed to look over as Tessa had mentioned something about fresh meat. Sure, he caught all of her words, and he only smirked in reply at first, walking from around the front of his car and standing some few feet away from the small group. Finishing his cigarette, Zach tossed it to the ground, a square toed Ariat putting out the flame as he shot Tessa a chuckle.
"Miss, I'm about as fresh as a bag of expired jerky."
It was a crude comparison, but it got his point across, that he may have been new to the LA scene, but he sure as hell wasn't new behind the wheel of a car. The Roush behind him was the product of his own pain staking work, not a single modification was done by anyone's hands other than his own. Yeah, he may have had the money to have the car professionally built, but that wasn't his style. Besides, he liked knowing his cars as much as he liked knowing somebody else's. Long story short, he was less than green both under the hood and on the street. It wasn't much long after that that Piper had piqued up, mentioning scaring him off and letting out his pockets. This time, he chuckled noticeably, shaking his head as he rested his hands on his hips.
"Sorry darlin, but my pockets don't let up for anyone's fingers, not even a pretty lady's."
Giving her a wink, Zach's good ol' boy drawl came out a touch, certainly not as thick as a Texan's, but definitely the sort to let bystanders know he wasn't exactly from the urban streets of Los Angeles. Stepping forward, Zach more or less invited himself into the circle of drivers and apparent friends, offering a hand to anyone who might have taken it, he gave a clean, white grin to everyone. May as well invite himself over after all, he wasn't exactly going to find any races by sitting alongside his car and smiling to every pretty little thing that passed. That was why he had showed up after all, the only thing he was wondering though, was if they'd be doing passes or going for the more adventurous route of autocross styled driving. The crowd seemed fairly diverse, but given the number of domestics, he could only assume that the race style of choice would be a quarter or eighth mile run.
"Now, if yall don't mind, I've got nothing against reaching into somebody else's pockets if they let me. I'm Zach, good to meet y'all."

In just the short time Shawn had shown up, it seemed like he was welcomed very well into the work of things. That was a good thing to however, as he really hated to have to worry about being booted out. As long as he kept things cool and smooth, problems shouldn't arise and things should continue really well. Tessa had gotten too busy to notice him there anymore as they started to talk about this Jack O'Connor guy but that wasn't the least of it. Soon eyes settled on a few more rides that came strolling in. One in particular that caught Shawn's eye and that was the Roush Mustang. Kenne Bell Supercharger? Might give him some competition tonight......Might not. Depended on how well the driver drove the thing. The only reason why he recognized the sound of the supercharger, was because he had just installed his own, although it seemed like his had a little more juice to it than the one he heard on the Ford. Not too long after, another oldie but a goodie, decided to make its presence known. This one was what Shawn liked to call a sleeper. 944 Porsche but definitely not the whiny stock engine that came in it as he heard it stroll past him. Ok, so he was ogling cars too. Big deal, he was car buff and it showed. Sue him. But that wasn't what interested him the most. Soon another player joined in the game, parked his car and walked up to the guy named Cole. Seemed like his name was Brian O'Connor, maybe the older brother of this Jack O'Connor guy? He really didn't care for the German piece of engineering, but he had to admit, they had they're talents for tight cornering. they were much better drifters than they were racers. the only problem, was that he heard of this Brian O'Conner guy before. Ex-cop? Or was it F.B.I.? Well, it didn't matter because he soon went Fugitive after his L.A. scene. He remembered hearing about him in Miami a few years back. Who cares if he was a cop or whatever before, he was a good racer who made a good name for himself. Seemed like the Letty chick knew who he was as well. Shawn kept his eyes on the two as they talked breifly but soon Brian was talking with Cole, something about racing the M3. Straight away, Shawn would dust him. Sprint or circuit, it was debatable. He might have the horsepower to outrun the M3, but that M3 would pull the corners tighter than his Challenger, all while not slowing down much. Shawn would have to really consider taking the lead early and keeping it if he wanted to beat the M3.
(Cole)
Shawn popped out of his little day dreaming spell when he heard something about his Challenger. His head spun around to face Cole and smiled a bit. Yeah he was proud of his ride, but not that proud of it. He never grew attached to his cars like most people did for two reasons.....1) He always found faster and better somewhere and quite honestly, he was trying to get a hold of a Skyline somewhere along the way. 2) He didn't always play by the rules and he was a high stakes kind of driver. Which meant he won at all costs, even if it cost him his ride along the way. "Against what? Good looks ain't gonna get you across the finish line?" he pointed to the fancy tin can Cole was standing next to. "No offense, but I don't think you want to race someone like me. When I race, I have no rules. 1.8 mil may end up in the recyclables by the time we're done." he laughed slightly. Shawn was a straight forth kind of guy. He didn't bullshit and he didn't lie, well for the most part. Not when it came to racing though. "And you don't have anything here fast enough to keep up with me. Now if you don't mind a no hold barred race and don't mind getting that a little dinged up, then sure. I'm game."
There was a reason why Shawn picked the Matte black paint job. It didn't show the bondo in his ride and it certainly didn't reflect light that well either. It dried quick, it hid things really well and it blended in the night. There was also a reason he picked a muscle car too. They were heavy, fast, and against a little rice burner like Cole's, his would last longer on the track. Wasn't his ride made of Fiber glass? Crack, snapple, pop? Shawn turned around to face the M3 that this Brian was driving and then back to Cole. "Now if you want to race for pinks, I'd be interested in that M3 if you'd be willing to put it up, but you have to be the one driving it." he smiled, making sure to cover that part. He knew Brian's driving and he was quick behind a steering wheel. Cole on the other hand, he had a feeling he stood a chance against. "Although, then again, I could use that kind of cash." Shawn turned around to look at Cole's ride. "How much would something like this sell for on the streets of L.A.?" He finally looked to Cole and gave him a few seconds to retain everything he had just said. Although Shawn's face was dead serious about it all, he wasn't actually serious inside. He was more or less trying to fake out Cole and see what kind of reaction he would get. He seriously wasn't going to push his luck against the CCXR or the M3, especially not knowing Cole's skills behind a wheel. But then again, he wasn't prepared to lose two grand either. That's when he got an idea.
"Bro, I'm just messin' with ya." Shawn said starting to laugh. "Couple grand is good for me. Just let me go get it in the car." he said pointing a thumb over his shoulder to his ride. He started to back pedal as he called out to Cole, "What are ya goin' to race?"

The vibe around the cars was awesome. It helped Brian forget the aweful situation he was in for at least a little while. Cole was a generous guy. The big mob money obviously hadn't gotten to his head, even now that he knew the money wouldn't be flowing anymore. "I appreciate it. Maybe I can win a few bucks..or at least have some fun." For a moment he followed Cole's gaze to a Challenger, who had pulled up beside him. The guy, who had climbed out of it looked a little over confident judging by his stride and look on his face. The man honestly thought he could beat Cole and suggested a race for slips. Brian couldn't help the grin that was spreading on his face. This kid reminded him a whole lot of himself a few years back, when he first rolled up to the scene in LA thinking he could kick Dom Toretto off his thrown. Crossing his arms in front of his chest he listened to their conversation with amusement. His fingers were already itching to challenge the guy himself but Brian was pretty much broken and couldn't throw in Coles slip. He knew, however, that the M3 would do well on the course tonight because it was full of sharp turns and short stretches in between. His leg was still sore from the police chase but not too sore to race. "Good luck, you'll need it." He told him when he was passing him by. "Do you want a third man in the race?" How on earth he'd pay the buy in was yet to be determined.

((Ok. I had no idea what to do with this. But... Tessa would definitely be wanting to get in on the money side of things. Also if we wanted to split things up into a couple small groups each one could be a race thread OR we could have one big race with all of them in it? I dunno. Up to you guys. This is just throwing my ideas out there. Someone else feel free to do something else. LOL ))
With every new car and new person that came over, Tessa's attention got more and more scattered. She was buzzing around. Wanting to be a part of everything that was going on.
One of the new guys with the Roush responded to her comment about fresh meat. Something that had her looking a little sheepish as she hadn't thought he could hear her. But, his comment about the beef jerky had her laughing. He introduced himself to the group as Zach and she gave him a quick smile.
While Tessa worked through the crowd, Piper was admiring the cars, getting involved in the race talk. Which was becoming the prominent topic now. It seemed several of them were itching to get into a race. Wagers were being discussed and that peaked Tessa's interest as well.
Giving it some thought for a moment she figured some organization was in order then made her way to a central location where they could all see her.
Letting out a loud wolf whistle she waved her hand over her head.
"Hey, everybody. It sounds like we've got a few challenges brewing here. How 'bout we work a few things out. We set the pairs, give all the drivers an inspection period and then we negotiate the stakes. I'll handle the actions and I cover all bets. Cash or pink slips are the only options. Everyone that wants to race has to agree to the inspection. It's only fair. Everyone opens their hoods and the drivers have fifteen minutes to take a look at their competition. I think that sounds fair. If you don't like it, y'all are free to go on your merry way. I'm just trying to have a little fun and see if we can't get a little action happening here."

{LETTY AND PIPER COMBO POST}
Giving Brian a quick hug back, Letty acknowledged the others with a nod even as the topic turned to racing. It seemed as if everyone there was of the same mind and for a moment... It was like old times. Except Dom wasn't there. At that thought, Letty's thoughts turned inward and her dark eyes began to search the crowd. That itch was back and she shifted restlessly. Being here, tonight, she could very well be endangering those gathered but she'd had to get some fresh air.
Before her thoughts could go any further though, the blond woman caught her attention with an easy smile and some comment about racing for the fun of it. Glancing over at the Charger, Letty gave the machine a looking over as Brian became engrossed in his own thrill. Deciding what the hell, she stepped over to the woman and arched a brow. "That thing move any faster than a snails pace?" she asked, snarky to the end even as she gave the girl a half smile. To her surprise, the woman let her head fall back and she laughed.
For a moment, her blue eyes twinkled with amusement before she pushed up off the hood. "Yeah, Baby goes a bit faster than that." she tossed back, obviously not offended by the question. "She'll keep up, don't you worry. I might not be quiet of the same caliber as all you seem to be but we can hold our own.", Piper said, patting the hood of the car. "You wanna race and see?"
Returning her grin with a smirk of her own, Letty pretended to contemplate it for a moment before shrugging. "Your loss, chica. I don't race for free though. If your pockets aren't deep... I'll race you for a grand." she tossed out, challenge ringing in the air between them.
Giving a good natured shrug, the blond agreed and then glanced over to where Tessa was already getting the betting going. A race against a legend? Yeah, she'd probably get her ass kicked but it was all in fun right? Thanks to the bet earlier, she had the cash to loose. You only lived once right?
"Your on." she told the ebony haired racer before pulling out her cash. "YO! TESSA! Letty and I are gonna go for a spin. You holdin the cash?"

Cole couldn't help the rather ominous smirk that continually grew across his face the more Shawn talked. He sounded like just about every other guy here to be honest, time would tell if there was any bite to that bark. The blonde glanced back to the CCXR rather suggestively when Shawn said he didn't have anything that could hang with him... oh really now?"There ain't no rules for anybody posted on a billboard. All your doing is statin' the obvious bro." Cole remarked back as a bit of a shot. "Where I come from, you were lucky to still have a car to finish with at the end of the race." And he left it at that, no need to spill the beans on his professional days in the GT3 Cup...yet. Cole's heart rate came up in anticipation when Shawn suggested a race for slips...He really liked that Challenger, minus all the unnecessary sound system junk, it looked like a very capable car. It'd look pretty damn good in his garage. Then the guy got a little overconfident and went so far as to suggest a pinks race with the CCXR, Cole was almost salivating...was he seriously going to push it that far? He was about to pull the keys out to the Swedish supercar and say you're on, but then Shawn backed out at the last second. Damn. "This." Cole nodded to the Koenigsegg beside him as Shawn backed off to get his car. The BMW was probably the smarter option, but at least he'd treat the crowd a little with the supercar. As he turned towards the car, he overheard Piper and who he believed was Letty discussing terms, and then Tessa jumped in the center and started trying to run the show, who put her in charge anyway? Regardless, it gave him an idea. "That's Dom's old girlfriend, right?" He stepped quickly next to Brian and asked in not much more than a whisper. Getting a confirming nod, he dashed out to the center in front of Tessa and raised his own tone so the group would make no mistake of his words. "This is what I say." He started with a wide grin. "Us three." He ran a finger pointed at himself, Brian, and Letty. "Versus you three." He then dragged the same finger in the direction of Shawn, Tessa, and Piper. "Tag team style race, each pair goes one lap around the circuit." He paused for his own version of a dramatic effect and pulled out the keys to the Koenigsegg, dangling them in the air. "For slips."Hopefully Dom's girlfriend wouldn't get on his case for volunteering her, he hadn't really thought of that at first. Oh well... OOC: For those that aren't sure of what I'm talking about, a tag team style race is just like the race that Brian and Rome had in 2F2F against those muscle cars, except we'd have three pairs instead of two

Piper couldn't help but be a bit surprised when the woman called Letty made her way over. Although the drivers tone had a bit of a snarky note to it, the dancer simply smiled and went along with her idea. It was friendly enough and she'd won a bit of money earlier so it wouldn't bust her if she lost it.
Which, given the woman she was racing, she was pretty sure she would.
Piper was no slouch behind the wheel and liked to think she had skills but she'd heard rumors around about the Torretto crew. They were fast, furious and afraid of nothing. Since Piper kind of liked her baby in the good shape it was it, she tended to stay on the cautious side of the fence even if she won her fair share of stakes.
As Tessa turned around to acknowledge her shout, the blond shook her head at the other womans playfulness. Leave it to the brunette to end up in the middle of it all, she thought dryly to herself even as she gave the guy in the cowboy boots a friendly nod of hello. His words about not having pockets to get into earlier had made her laugh and she thought she'd heard him say his name was Zach.
"Hey Zach. I'm Piper," she said by way of greeting even as the one called Cole moved forward with something else on his mind. The proposition he shouted out had one slim brow arching even as she glanced around and then shook her head. Damn, he wasn't wasting any time, was he? she thought to herself even as she decided that sort of thing was to rich for her blood. She'd already planned on getting her ass kicked by Letty and lossing a grand. Her car? Hell no. She might be crazy but she wasn't stupid.
"Sorry, bud. I'm going to sit this one out I think. My cars not up to the sort of race you guys are talking and I'm a little to attached to my baby to risk it. Sorry...." she said regretfully, glancing at Zach. "Maybe Zach here would like the challenge though...He can have my spot."

Dan had naturally gravitated towards the CCXR, M3, and Challenger that were all parked in the same vicinity as the ‘all call’ was placed out looking for racers.
Before he could even put his hand up to try to jump into a race he overheard a far more promising prospect from a group of talking individuals. What had been suggested was a 3 v 3 Tag team style Circuit race and it was going to feature some of the nicest cars on location. Knowing full well he’d want to watch this he walked over to the group. One of the Racers that was offered a spot backed out, but offered the spot to another racer named Zach.
“If you guys decide to run that race…I’ll watch the scanner and hold the slips if need be.” Dan said “...I’m Dan by the way, the 944 over there is mine.” Dan said gesturing over his shoulder, smirking knowing full well they could catch him if he decided to run. Dan was also running through his head what he could possibly do with some traffic cams depending on the route to film the race to throw up later on YouTube…because god knows how many views a race like this would get.
“If you guys give me an idea of the route…I could film it and kill traffic cams for you as well”
Dan had a persistent agent in the hub of traffic control in the city, it allowed him to cut power to traffic cams, overlay his own film, and download video from cameras of interest. Using his agent for this big of a purpose might run him the risk of discovery…but it would be worth it.
After completing his offer for ‘referee’ of the Tag Team Race he places his hands in his pockets and gazed over all of the cars that might be competing, it was hard to hide…he was excited to see this.

This was Brian's world and for once he felt whole again...if only for a few minutes. The smile was plastered on his face when he listened to Cole's suggestion. Obviously the guy trusted his driving skills enough to throw in two pink slips. Great to feel appreciated. It also solved his monetary problem.
"I'm in." Brian announced raising his chin to hear what the others had to say. It wasn't a big surprise that one of the challenged girls pulled out. After all not all of the drivers had a reputation and the cars to back it up. Going up against them would take some guts and a great team of skilled drivers. "No problem." He told the girl and looked around. "Anybody else, who has the guts to take her spot?"
A little over near there cars he overheard a younger man with dark hair suggest that he'd film everything and 'kill traffic cams'. Now that didn't only sound highly illegal but also like the guys was 'computer literate'. Stepping a little closer Brian asked him. "How would you do that? Hack into traffic surveillance or what?" Whatever it was it would most likely cause them a lot of trouble. "If you kill the traffic cams you'll just cause us a lot of unwanted attention from the cops. I don't know about you, Dan, but I'm not planning on checking into a pretty little cell tonight."

Shawn was just coming back from his ride when he heard Tessa screaming out the announcement. He had a roll of hundreds in his hand and was willing to do whatever she was suggesting. He lived for this and he had never lost a race in the last few years of his professional street racing life. Mostly due to his Challenger and the upgrades he threw into it since. Shawn may have run at his mouth with the best of them, but he was able to back up what he threw down. He was a smart racer, knew when the getting was good and knew when to back down. He knew who to race and who not to. That was the sign of an experienced racer. For the most part, he could tell what everyone had in their cars just by sound alone because truly when you worked on the machines for as long as he did and loved it just as much, it was something that just grew on you. Between that and his Pops being a professional Nascar racer and showing him all the tips of the trade and racing since he was only seven, he had plenty of confidence in himself. That alone gave him the right to gloat and run at his mouth and no one after knowing him, could say anything different.
So yeah, he was game for it all until Cole decided to toss in his input and explain the challenge. Three on three, tag team, sounded fine to him, but when Cole explained the teams, he kinda just looked to who his team was and then to the team they would be racing with a unbelievable look on his face. Did Cole really think that was a fair match? If so, he was out of his damn mind. Shawn didn't know how well the girls raced and even seeing Piper back out made him feel better about his decision. that was like putting Goofy in a Pinto and telling him to race Mario Andretti in his indy car. Really? "Whoa, whoa whoa! I may have been born in the dark, but it wasn't yesterday." he piped up. "I've seen her race, " he pointed to Letty, "And I know Brian's skill from Miami all well and good. Cole, I'm not too sure about you and as I have all the confidence in the world about myself, I don't know how these other two drive. Call me a pussy, I don't care, But I'm backing out of that challenge. I didn't sign up for that and I ain't losing my money or my car with two people for all I know could be rookies here." Shawn then pocketed his money and leaned against his car shaking his head. "That's suicide and I may be from the sticks of redneckville, but I ain't stupid. And anyone here that thinks they can beat all three of you together is fucking crazy. I'm out unless you can get me two drivers I know that I at least stand a chance with." he said seriously looking at Cole's hair brained idea. He then looked to the the girls and then even to the guy with the Mustang, "No offense to any of you, but I wouldn't expect anything less, nor would I take offense if you thought the same thing about me." he then looked to the infamous trio, "And you three are out your damn mind if you think anyone here is willing to take that offer. Hell, even I'd be surprised as hell if anyone was actually stupid enough to accept that."
"I'll go one on one with any of you three, but I ain't trusting my ride or my money in the hands of a couple of strangers that I don't know if they can drive or not. Sorry, but that's too much risk and any good racer would know that." he continued. "I'll sit this one out until something a little more fairer comes along. Ya'll on your own." Maybe he'd make some money on bets alone tonight, but what Cole was suggesting, was less more appealing than him sticking his own 9mm in his mouth and playing Russian roulette. Yes, he'd actually done that before.....Just never had the guts to actually pull the trigger, but that was another story for another day.

So these guys were playing smart tonight...damn.
Predictably, the one person who was about as nuts as Cole agreed to it, and everyone else looked a bit like a deer in headlights at the thought. Well, at least they weren't the ignorant type who thought they all had the skills of Lewis Hamilton, that he could respect. A number of drivers would accept that challenge just cause their massive ego wouldn't let them refuse. Admittedly, Cole was probably one of them, but at least he could back up his pride most of the time.
He quietly blended back into the rest of them as one by one they all started backing out. "Damn man, your name is getting too big." He mumbled to Brian with a bit of a laugh.
Once Shawn finished his little rant, Cole dug out a couple G's from his pocket and nodded to Shawn. "Alright man, your way it is. See you at the line." He handed Tessa 2 grand and turned on a heel to the Koenigsegg. Might as well have a little fun while he's out. Not to mention this would be a great run for the crowd to see.
"Good to meet you, Dan." Cole held out his fist for quick bump while he walked past the newly introduced guy. "I say talk to some of the guys in charge around here, you might make a pretty penny with those hookups." He said over his shoulder as he got into the CCXR.
OOC: Sorry for the craptastic post guys...had to write it fast

Piper might be blond but she wasn't stupid. Even though she liked to think she had mad skills behind the wheel, common sense told her that going up against these guys was way out of her pay grade. Could she make a showing? Sure. No way in hell was she risking her beloved fathers car though. Thankfully, the guys seemed to understand that and took her refusal in stride. Hey, they weren't all Richard Petty, right?
As the others began to toss around words and egos, the dancer rolled her eyes before smirking. Letty's brow was arched but she seemed more amused than anything. Piper was half surprised when the Latino beauty shoot her head and leaned back on the hood of a car, making no move to join in on the races. Evidently, the other woman had had enough for the night too.
Shawns words had Piper's attention shifting briefly and she arched her brow at his words. No offense? None taken but his little comment about "skilled drivers" made her azure gaze narrow a bit. Before she could say anything in return though, Cole was jumping in and challenging him to a race so she let it go for the moment.
Instead, she turned her attention to the one called Brian. Studying him for a moment, she took in his blond good looks before worrying on her bottom lip. Could this be Jacks older brother? "Brian, huh?" she finally asked, southern drawl breaking the void left in Cole's wake. "Any relation to Jack O'Conner by any chance?"

Any man or woman with a little bit of sense between his ears would have refused that crazy offer. Admittedly neither Letty nor Brian had done a lot of racing during the past years but their names were still out there and Cole had more than proofed himself. It didn't come as a surprise that nobody took the bait so Brian just shot Letty a meaningful look and nodded at Cole. "Good luck, doesn't look like you need it though..." Trash talk...a good part of the game.
He watched his friend walk away to get ready for a race that should be amusing or even interesting.
While he walked a few steps over and crossed his arms in front of his chest one of the girls suddenly adressed him, so Brian turned back towards her. She was a sassy blonde with curves in all he right places. Could she possibly be a cop searching for his brother...or maybe even after him? "Depends on whether you have a badge hidden somewhere under that outfit." He gave her the once over and decided that she would have flashed said badge by now if she really was here on duty or she was undercover. "Why do you want to know?"

Blinking rapidly at the words the blond fired back at her, Piper laughed and shook her head. Raising her hands up in the air in mock surrender, she grinned as her azure eyes danced with merriment. "Nope.. No badge here. Though, I did wear a cop uniform once for halloween." she tossed back, tilting her head to the side. "I was just curious is all. I met Jack a week or so back and he mentioned he had a brother. Told me a story about how the brother let him borrow his car to race so I thought maybe you might be that guy... Sorry if I have it wrong."
