He watched as Cole walked away handing Tessa his money and smiled. One on one he could hang with, even two on one he could do, but three on one and the possibility of others ruining it for him.....that was too risky. He peeled back some bills and folded them within his palm. As he walked past Brian to give Tess the money however, he heard him start trash talking a bit. He laughed a little and then looked to Brian."Yo bro, you keep thinking that when your up next." he continued to laugh as he finally strolled up to Tessa and handed her the money.he walked past Brian again on his way to his car and patted him on the shoulder with an approved grin. He didn't stop, just kept walking all the way to his car. He gave a slight nod to a couple of guys he had the opportunity to talk to and got in his ride.
Shawn inserted the keys and started her up, letting her pure to life and rumble to a slow idle. It wasn't too much longer before he pulled up to the line and and got out of his ride. Slowly, he walked up to the foreign door stop with Cole inside until he reached the drivers side door with two more grand inside his hand and half holding it out for Cole. "Wanna make this a little more interesting? No lights, first to cross the line wins. If you flip the lights on anytime during the race, its automatic disqualification and you lose." he asked with a soft grin across his lips.
Shawn stepped back a little but didn't wait for Cole to answer, before he got a little cocky. Remember, Shawn wasn't one to spit game unless he could back it up. "Unless of course you don't wanna...You probably don't wanna take the chance on smashing up that expensive car of yours. You never know what may just jump out in front of you."
He could have said something out loud, make Cole look like the pussy this time around like he did to Shawn just moments ago when he offered that lame excuse for a race, but he didn't. Shawn showed his opponents respect and courtesy even when others didn't show him the same. It was a certain code he went by when he was in the company of his own kind. It's why he made this a simple and quiet matter, so that if Cole wanted to back out, he wouldn't have the embarrassment of doing so in front of his peers. Respect went a long way in the crowd he was putting himself in and so did honor. Cole was the game runner here, and Shawn was in his house, so it was best to do things this way, at least until he earned Cole's respect and maybe even loyalty. "It's your call, bro. Just let me know."
(Sorry it took so long to post this. Its been crazy hectic around my house the past few weeks. I'll try and keep up the best I can. If not, I can bow out and Cole can win hands down. But I'll do my best.)

The blonde girls response to his paranoid question actually made him chuckle. She definetly sounded like a gilr Jack could 'enjoy'. With interest Brian listened to her talk about his brother who seemed to have done something 'normal' for a change instead of going down to Mexico on sketchy business or blow up his own house while Brian was snoozing on the couch. "He did talk about me?" Brian raised his brows. "In a good way? That's a surprise." He then relaxed a little letting his shoulders slump. Lately there was so much tension, that it couldn't be healthy. "Yeah I lend my brother my car." He gave her the once over and decided that she was defiently Jacks type. If she was into cars then..most definetly. "Are you and Jack 'friends'?" Brian asked innocently.

The Koenigsegg sneaked it's way through the crowds (who mercifully were growing bored of the car), and found its way to the start line beside the flat black Mopar representative. Inside the car, a thick but calm atmosphere surrounded Cole as he went through his mental checklist before every race. He was beyond ready for this. The way he saw it, unless that Challenger was packing some unheard of suspension work, there was simply no way Shawn would be able to take him in the corners. Straightaway maybe, but even that was only if that motor bit as loud as it barked. The subs in the back of the Challenger told Cole that Shawn wasn't that concerned with weight savings, meaning the Koengisegg would also be considerably lighter with it's carbon fiber construction. The blonde was feeling confident, but if there was one life lesson you could learn out in the streets, it was to never judge your opponent until the clutch drops.
Cole grew a look of curiosity when Shawn appeared in his window. What was this about, more trash talk perhaps? Nope, rather an interesting challenge. The blonde couldn't hold back the smirk that appeared in his features. He'd already ran this track tonight, he was pretty sure he didn't see that Challenger out yet. He couldn't help but think Shawn just shot himself in the foot. "I hope you know the size of the fire you're playing with brotha." He simply grinned at Shawn. "Like I said, your way it is." He readily accepted the terms and immediately killed the lights on the supercar. Two black cars with nothing but a few sparse street lamps showing their way. To say this would be interesting was an understatement, especially when you look at the price tags of the cars participating.
"Best of luck, my man." Cole said grin still intact as he rolled up the window. He hit the ignition button on the dash of the supercar and the twin supercharged V8 barked into life for the final time.

Shawn smiled at Cole's enthusiasm. So the side bet was on. Sure he never had run the track and maybe Cole had, but he was pretty sure he misunderstood him when he said no lights. He watched Cole shut off his lights with a smile and cocky reply when he wished Shawn the best of luck. Shawn just nodded as to say, you too. Shawn then removed himself from the the side of Cole's car and moved around to the front of both as he made the announcement.
"Listen up, we got ourselves a race you won't want to miss. Two cars, first to the finish line, no lights.May the best racer win."
Shawn then looked to the guys he had talked briefly to and swiped a finger across his throat as to motion to them to do what it was he paid them to do. Soon, every street light on the course was shut down and the track was in total darkness with only the cars behind them to give some form of light. Soon those lights would only be a beacon of hope as that was also the finish line. Barely able to see his hand in front of his face as he looked, Shawn then moved around to the drivers side of his car and got in. He lifted a panel above his radio, flipping a few switches to turn off all his neon green lights so that the car blended in with the night. Because of the tinted windows, you could hardly see anything inside the car, so when Shawn reached down and pressed a button on the custom center console, the 10" screen that seemed to slide up on a mechanism would not be seen. He pressed a few more buttons and soon the track layout was on his GPS, connected and synced to the ten inch monitor which illuminated the track in a green night vision on his display. It was a dirty trick, but the money he spent on the night vision cameras hidden behind the grill of his ride and the visual system had been well worth the money he paid. He had won countless races and bookoo bucks already that paid for more than half his car and parts already. Did the Koenisegg have this? For a 1.8 million dollar car it better give him sexual healing while he drove it. that was just an insane amount to pay for a car that would soon need even more money just to fix.
Shawn started up his ride with a loud rumble, but wouldn't let it be heard for much longer as he hit another switch that would dampen the muffler noise to a slight whisper. this way Cole couldn't hear where his car was and make the attempt to follow him. Shawn was curious to know no, how much confidence Cole was having in himself now,but the race would prove that over all. Shawn watched as the girl made her way between the two cars, and took her shirt off, leaving her in only her shorts and bra. She raised her shirt over her head using it as a flag. The other hand, she held up three fingers getting ready for the count down to "Go" She looked at Shawn, "You ready?" Shawn revved his engine revealing he was still next to the Koenisegg and that he was ready as he would ever be. She then looked to Cole, "Are you ready?"

Listening to Brian's words, Piper tilted her head and then frowned. She wasn't sure if the man was joking or not when he said something to the effect of being surprised Jack had talked about him in a good way but then, they hadn't exactly wasted much time talking about siblings. Maybe the relationship was strained or something but the blond had gotten the feeling that Jack cared about his brother alot. Maybe even idolized him a bit.
"Um.. Yeah, he talked about you a bit. Mostly about the cars and such..." she drawled back, voice turning teasing as she continued. "Lending him a car though.. I dunno if that makes you insane or just really really brave."
Studying the man before her, the dancer saw his eyes travel over her form and almost snorted in amusement. The thoughts that were going through his head were obvious and his next question confirmed it. Having already pegged Jack as the sort of guy who had lots of lady friends, the blond simply shrugged before volunteering the information he was probably seeking.
"Yeah, I suppose you could say that. Your brother helped me out of a bad spot about a week or so ago. Probably saved my life to be honest. A couple rough bikers were giving me a hard time and had ideas that definitely wouldn't have ended well for me when your brother jumped into the fray. Between the two of us, we handled them before getting the hell out of dodge but I haven't decided if that makes HIM insane or extremely brave either... Does insanity run in your family by any chance?" she teased, a gambit grin on her lips.

The woman definetly wasn't the shy kind and knew how to stand her ground. For some reason Brian took an immediate liking to her. Maybe he just had a thing for sassy girls. It didn't come as a surprise that Jack would talk about cars more than him. He really didn't think Jack would say anything about him unless have some snoddy remark about him being a former cop. The fact that he would say something ncie was almost mind boggling. "Jack said that, hm. Good to know." He raised a brow. "I'd book it under insanity knowing my brother."
The next thing this blonde mentioned was even more mind blowing. Jack would risk his own pretty face for somebody else and help somebody instead of getting him or her in trouble? "Seriously? He must have had a good day." When it came to pretty girls things seemed to be different and the so self absorbed man could apparently become the hero of the day. "So your telling me Jack risked his butt to get you out of trouble? That's quite noble, I'd say..." He could help the laugh that suddenly escaped him when he pictured the younger O'Conner fighting off a few bad guys for a damsel in distress and therefore earning eternal gratitude. "...maybe it does run in the family. I guess we're known for jumping into the fire without thinking."
Finally Brian extended his hand. "Nice to meet you, by the way. I'm sorry I'm a little weary at the moment."
For a moment he looked around them to possibly pick out the car this woman was driving. "Are you here to watch or race?"

Laughing at the man's words, Piper grinned and took his hand, giving it a firm shake before letting go. Her eyes danced with mischief as she looked him up and down and arched a brow. "Well, I, for one, am grateful that it does in that case. Pretty sure I would have ended up dead in a ditch somewhere if it hadn't been for Jacks quick actions." she said honestly before continuing. "Its a pleasure to meet you too and weary seems to go with this lot. Better to be safe than sorry, right?"
Watching as he then turned his gaze to their surroundings, the dancer heard his next question and chuckled. "Well, I suppose a little of both. The charger over there is mine..." she said, pointing to the metallic blue American Muscle car. "My dad taught me to drive and it was his. Spent a lot of hours under the hood with him and have continued to modify it with all the good stuff since his death. I like to race it but not enough to ever risk losing it." she finished, glancing back at him and the car she'd seen him drive up in. "How about you? From the looks of that ride, you came to race?"

"Better safe than sorry, yeah." Brian grinned. As if that was ever the case. "Actually usually I am sorry." He shrugged but made a mental note that his brother seemed to have done something right for a change. "Do you happen to know where Jack is by any chance?" Ever since the last desaster things had gotten pretty quiet between them...again. The change of conversation topic was welcome, so Brian took a few steps over to the Charger. Of course it didn't fail to impress him, especially since it reminded him so much of his friends vehicle. "All these old muscle cars have a good story that comes with them. They all have seen great rides, long road trips or in this case even races. Did your dad race?" letting his eyes wander over the outside he was tempted to look under the hood. "What modifications did your dad or do make?" There was a sudden gleam in his eye that only ever showed up when he enhaled the fumes and heard the engines roar. There was soemthing special about it that never failed to impress him.

Brian's query about where Jack was at made Piper lift a brow but she simply shrugged. "No, i don't. We've spoken on the phone but between work and all... We've not really had a chance to connect. He said he was busy with something but I don't know what." the dancer returned before following him over to the car.
Reaching out, she trailed a smooth touch over its beloved frame even as he spoke again. "Yeah.. he did. He was more old school about it though. You know.. all those movies about the two guys racing their cars off a cliff to get the girl and all? Thats sort of how my dad met my mom and how I came about." she drawled out. "Which was sort of funny cause my mom was the daughter of a preacher man and her face would always turn red when Dad would tell that story."
Looking back at the car, Piper moved around to the drivers side door. Opening it up, she reached in and popped the hood, already anticipating his next question. "Take a look for yourself." she told him, slamming the door once more and moving around to lift the hood and prop it up. "I think you'll find it up to your standards although maybe not as fancy as yours." she teased, proud of the way the engine sparkled and looked well taken care of. "Dad put the nitro in before he died so that was all him. I think he wanted to feel like a kid again but I'm glad he did now."
Then, giving the man beside her a glance, she dug in her pockets till she came up with the keys and held them out. "Start her up if you like... She purrs like a kitten..."

Her story about the daughter of a preacherman brought a song to mind and made Brian chuckle while he pictured it playing from an old radio. Just for the fun of it he sang a few notes. "Billy Ray was a preacher son..." He looked up from the car to its owner and asked. "You're mom's name wasn't Billy Ray now , was it?"
When she popped the hood Brian instantly walked around, reached underneath and pushed it up securing it. His eyes roamed over the intestines of the old car as if they were his prey. What he could see under the dim street lights looked like the work of somebody who had put a lot of time into his vehicle over the years. How much power it actually put out remained to be seen though and the small bottle of nitrous could also backfire on a driver, who didn't know what to do with it. "Looks like your dad enjoyed spending a lot of time with his car."
He sat down in the driver seat and pressed down on the clutch before turning the key. The powerful roar of an American muscle car could be hear over the sounds of the much newer imports around them when he briefly tapped on the gas. "Yep, she purrs. Pretty fancy if you like this type of car. The one I came with isn't mine by the way. I just borrowed the BMW from a friend." Brian neglected to say that he didn't even own a car right now due to a few unfortunate circumstances. Truth be told he was lucky to be alive. "I'd like to see you drive this." Brian left the engine running to encourage her to get in. He got out just to come face to face with Piper who was leaning onto the open door. For a brief moment their face were so close he could feel her breath on his skin. She definetly wasn't the shy type...kind of provocative in her own way. She reminded him a little of Letty. He looked into her deep green (?) eyes before moving out of the way. "Your turn."

Watching Brian climb into the drivers seat, Piper's lips turned up in a satisfied smile as the purr of the engine broke through the noise of the crowd. Pride in her car showed in her expression as she listened to the rumble and then nodded to his words when he spoke again. "That was nice of him.. Letting you drive something like that." she said absently, as he climbed out and then looked down at her, giving her an intense look that made one slim brow arch up a bit.
For a long moment, Piper stood uncomfortably, wondering what he was thinking and if this was some sort of flirtation. Used to being hit on, Piper normally dismissed men with a cold comment but this was Jacks brother. For some reason, she didn't want to piss him off but neither did she want to give him the wrong impression. She wasn't one of the many "trophy" girls standing around and she wasn't into sleeping around like one might think about a girl in her profession.
Not to mention, she really did like his brother and while it was still to early to say if anything would come of it... A girl could always hope, right? Genuinely enjoying Jacks company, the blond decided to level with Brian but before she could, a sudden shout had her head whipping around.
"COPS!!! WE GOT COPS!!!"
"Shit! Well, looks like your going to get your wish!" she shot out at the older O'Conner even as she dived into the drivers side. "Catch me if you can?"
Grinning impishly, the blond waited only momentarily to see what the other man would do before tossing her car into gear. Letty was already pulling out in her Oldsmobile and the crowd seemed to be imploding on itself. With a squeal of tires, Piper took off, barely missing another car trying to get out of Dodge and then it was mass confusion as everyone worked to zip out of reach of the cops.

The way she held his gaze when he was looking down into her eyes made his lips curl up slightly. "No wonder..." Brian started a sentence that got interrupted by the one and only thing he disliked about the nightly races. The scream that cops had discovered the race and would lock up anybody who wasn't gone within a few seconds.
Instantly his eyes darted up to Cole's car that was parked at least twenty cars over, which had started to move and create somewhat of a car jumble. if he wanted to play it safe he'd jump in the car with Piper, but that would mean trouble for Cole's in whose name the BMW was registered.
Out of the corner of his eyes he spotted Letty drive by but she was gone before he could react.
"I will." Brian shouted at her as she pulled the door close and slid across her hood to shorten his run through the mess of cars that were starting to peel out. One almost hid him and made him jump to the side but soon enough he was behind the wheel of Coles German car.
He could already see the reflection of the blue and red lights around him when he pressed down hard on the gas loosing grip for a brief moment before he got pressed into the seat and quickly manouvered his way out of the remaining cars and people.
A second later he turned hard left and shifted down to gain some distance. Whether Piper had taken the same road, he didn't know.

Cole's brow quirked when ALL the lights suddenly went dead. He wasn't expecting that. Either Shawn was one crazy mofo or he had something special up his sleeve. Cole had to think it was the latter.
Well played...well played...
Still, he knew the track and had the GPS punched in. Despite the fact that he was going to practically be using the force in some spots, he felt he had a chance. This was where you put your money where your balls were.
The blonde nodded at the start girl and she took her position in between the two cars. Revs built up along with the adrenaline inside them...
"COPS!!!"
Even over the engines Cole could hear the human siren, and seconds later red and blue LED's flashed brightly in front of them. Their female race starter was suddenly no where to be seen, and others were fleeing at the speed of light. Guess he'd better follow suit. Cole yanked the wheel hard left and dumped the clutch, doing a smokey u-turn past Shawn's Challenger. He then took a hard right onto a gravel road that the police seemed to forget about (probably because it was gravel) and ran away from the familiar law enforcement colors, checking his mirror briefly to spot any pursuers.

Shawn watched through the tinted windows as Cole nodded to the girl that he was ready, but before she could drop her arms and say go, someone was screaming out Five-O. The girl dropped her arms real quick but took off in the process, dashing in front of Shawn's car and to the big mob of people scattering about like cockroaches. Cars were going in every direction that Shawn could see, but one in particular he was worried about was Tess's. She had all the money in hand but he couldn't see her anywhere. Even her blond friend had taken off rather quickly. Before Shawn could react to either direction, he heard the Koenisegg peel off in front of him and spin a U-turn to take some gravel road. Shawn dropped the shifter into reverse and floored it, cutting the wheel to the left, causing the car to spin around 180 degrees. He took a quick right onto the same gravel road in which Cole disappeared on and kept up.
"You stupid f-ing Noobs. I said cut the lights, not alarm the police." he said to himself as he slammed his hand into the steering wheel. Not that he really knew it was them that were the reason for the police being here. It just seemed too coincidental though. Shawn pulled out his phone and hit the speaker button on qwerty pad which pulled up his text messaging app and spoke into it. "Yeah, Tess, following Cole, I'll text ya the address of where we're going when we get there. I want my money back." He hit the send button and tossed the phone to the passenger seat while he flipped the headlights on to his car. This wasn't exactly the race so it didn't matter anymore. His main focus was following Cole out of this since it seemed he knew where he was going. that was the one thing that sucked about being new to a foreign place, you knew nothing when it came to short cuts and directions. Let's just hope Cole wasn't a noob either.

The catch of the day, week maybe months was right in front them. If they really got their hands one a few of these illegal racers who have been bugging the chief for months now with their nightly, noisy and dangerous races through the city. "10-28. We have a 22348A in progress. We're in pursuit of several vehicles. Need registration for California 5BBM 2...damn" The female officer on the radio narrowed her eyes while she got thrown around in her seat and couldn't properly see the registration of the car. Next thing they were flying around a corner and followed two cars on a narrow gravel road. She hung on tight to her seat while getting slightly nervous. The youn officer wasn't used to high speed chases yet even though she'd been trained for them. This was at night in narrow streets with obstacles. It was a whole different ball game. "Light em up." Her partner told her so she turned on her own lights and siren ordering the two vehicles in front of them to stop.

Cops. Great. Just freaking great.
With the flashing lights and sirens behind her, Piper broke off from the main pack to head down a side street. Others seemed to have the same idea but, luckily, the cops seemed to have no real plan of attack as they barreled after them. In fact, it quickly became obvious that most of them had no real training in race tactics as they crashed into each other.
"Geez, people..." the blond muttered to herself even as she spun the wheel again and downshifted, grabbing gears even as she slid sideways and took off without crashing into the car already occupying the street. In her peripheral vision, she identified the model as a BMW and felt her brow arch as she caught sight of the driver.
Brian O'Conner. Hell, great minds, right?
Grinning a bit, the blond gave him a wave even as they raced down the street and outdistanced the sounds of pursuit. Another corner came up quick and Piper grabbed for the brake, the bigger, heavier car handling harder than the lighter one.

It became painfully obvious that Koenigsegg did not intend this car for off-road use. Cole held back the cringe as the super low side skirts were practically scraping the gravel underneath. As if that wasn't enough to get on his nerves, the mirrors revealed a familiar black and white police Charger on their butt...He didn't expect Shawn to follow either.
The short stretch of unpaved madness seemed to last forever, but in reality it was only a few tenths of a mile. Good thing too, any longer and the cops would possibly have time to box them in. Cole fought the tail-happy supercar all the way to the end, and finally ripped it to the left on rugged but paved old highway. He straightened out the car and shoved the shifter into 3rd, using the brutal power of that twin supercharged V8 to rocket down the highway.
If only he knew exactly where he was going...

As much of a kick as Brian used to get out of car chases in his younger years...this wasn't fun. He was too worried to put a dent in Coles precious piece of mechanical mastership or actually get arrested. Not that he'd ever been caught by a cop but never say never. The flashing lights behind him meant no good and as long as the street was this narrow and blocked by parked vehicles and garbage cans he couldn't really cut loosed the biest. The cops came uncomfortably close when sudddenly another car shot into the street behind him and in front of the police vehicle. What a nice destraction for the 'pigs'. If only it hadn't been the woman he just talked to a few minutes before. " I hope you know what you're doing, girl." He muttered to himself when she saw the Charger. Carefully he was scanning the street for possible turns and as soon as he found one shifted down and yanked the wheel around to head into a side street, which turned out just as narrow. The tail end of the BMW almost connected with a parked car but Brian excellerated just in time. Another turn to the right and he had gained some distance. Piper however was still taking the same road. "Split up...go somewhere else." He frowned hoping she'd get the idea because the cops could only follow one of them.

Shawn tailed the Koenisegg closely, maybe a little too closely as he could hardly see the licence plates along the back side of the bumper. It was almost like when his dad would draft the car in front of him in Nascar with barely inches between them. Pretty much, God help him if Cole decided to slam on the brakes cause he'd be up Cole's ass without any kind of lube to help guide him in. In his rear view mirror he spotted the red and blues flashing as they gained some ground, but soon the black white Five-O was on their tail. "Come On Cole, what the hell are you doing? If he knew where he was going, he would have sling shot past him already and kept going without a hesitation's notice. What seemed like a forever and half journey along the gravel road, finally ended with an older highway where he quickly anticipated Cole's turn by the movement his car made before the actual turn. He hit the brake lightly, down shifted into 2nd and cut the wheel left then quickly right to make the Challenger go sideways as he drifted into the turn and onto the highway, using the loose gravel to help ease him into the turn. The Koenisegg turned hard right while Shawn's Challenger practically slid around him till they were neck and neck.
Looking to Cole who seemed a little on edge, Shawn only smiled until he watched the police Charger slide onto the same road and was still behind them. "Damn it!" He almost thought they had it on that last turn and they would have if this was Texas. The cops there couldn't drive for shit. Seemed like a back up plan was in order if they were going to shake these pigs. Shawn looked up straight ahead seeing a Semi barreling down the highway and immediately shifted down again back into second to give the Challenger a good punch, but quickly shifted back into third and then soon fourth as he blew past the Koenisegg to catch up to the truck. He swerved a little crazy at first hoping Cole would take that as a sign to get the hell out of the way and then quickly swerved in front of the semi, locking up his brakes and cutting the wheel hard right. The Challenger wasted no time spinning around into a 180 now facing the semi truck who was swerving in order to dodge the crazy ass that moved in front of him and was now driving backwards. In the process, however, the semi jackknifed, trailer and truck tipping over on its side and scrapping along the highway with sparks in every direction. If Cole was as good as he ran at the mouth, then he would have just barely escaped that little stunt. Shawn, still driving backwards, hit the brakes and cut the wheel, straightening himself out and gunning it, shifting through the first three gears like a pro. Let's hope the cop car wasn't crazy enough to attempt getting past it.....

When the police car drifted around the corner the younger woman let one brief scream escape her lips, which she immediately suppressed. The crazy driving was a little too much for her to handle. "Don't get us killed." She yelled at her partner, a much older officer behind the wheel. "Don't scream." The man only told her while he pushed his pedal down and then quickly shifted to excellerate enough to keep up with the Charger and the Koeniggsegg. "We get this all the time around here. I know what I'm doing." He growled at her. "What kind of a car is that left one?" The two racers were now geeting fast enough to put some distance between them when suddenly one of them pull one heck of a crazy stunt, which led to a Semi truck flipping and crashing onto its side. From one second to the next most of the highway was blocked. "Hold on." The driver yelled at his partner knowing that he'd either smash into the truck or somehow go around it. He chose the latter but the only way to do it was driving across the emergency lane onto the grass and bushes next to it. Another scream escaped the female officer when their vehicle shot through an array of bush and bushes before it hot the rad again. "Don't scream I said! There he is." By now the Charger had almost a quarter mile headstart but wasn't out of sight yet. "Where's the other one?" The old cop's head whirled around.
