He stood around the living room, glancing at the destruction he had created. He had taken it upon himself to get the money. He was tired of sitting around and waiting. You should always send a man to do a man's job.
Even though he knew he could be killed for disobeying orders and getting involved, he didn't care. He had received strict orders from the powers that be to protect her. From people even higher up than her. To watch her back and make sure she never needed anything, but he respected her decision to make a life outside of their "family". Which was why he lurked in the shadows and made sure she didn't spot him.
And it hurt seeing her count change to get on the city bus, when she had dozens of men waiting for her to give an order. Men that were willing to die and kill for her. It hurt seeing her beg people for a job. It hurt him knowing that she was depending on the blond for her future. And not him.
It hurt.
He sat down on the couch and watched as the dog climbed up next to him. He petted him and began to wait, knowing that any minute the blonds could walk through the front door. He reached into the front pocket of the hoodie and pulled out a small gun, cocking it and setting it on his lap.
He would wait. It didn't matter how long. He would wait forever if necessary. He had to get her money back, one way or another. He loved her.
He would die for her.

Today was one of these days when Brian hated his job. The whole days he'd been sitting at a desk going through old files without any success just to hear from his boss that his own grandmother could do a better job at getting some information on Amira Saltos than Brian.
The hours had just dragged along and Brian was really tired when he finally climbed into his car in the underground garage.
On his way home he picked up Jack in town and then grabbed some Thai take away, which was now sitting in Jacks lap. It steamed and left his mouth watering.
Half an hour later the Skyline pulled into the driveway of his old little house. Many lights in the neighborhood were on giving away that people were at home having dinner, watching TV, reading the paper or whatever they were doing.
Brian sighed and pulled the key out of the ignition. "Let's eat some grub. Fast! I'm starving." With fast steps he closed the distance between the car and his front door in his nice, polished suit shoes, which matched the colour of his suit. As soon as he opened the door he tossed his jacket across the back of a chair and walked into the kitchen where he was greeted by Buster. "Come here, big boy! What's up?" He ruffled the dogs hair and watched Jack walk into the kitchen with their food.

"You're always starving, bro" With a sigh Jack put the food on the counter while he loosened up the tie and unbuttoned the top buttons of his shirt. He'd been in town looking for a job all day and for the occasion he had let Brian talk him into wearing one of his suits. 'You'll make a better impression that way' is what his brother had said. He hadn't worn or even owned a suit since the funeral of their great grandma and that was years ago. He just never saw the point of it but time would tell if Brian was right or not about the 'better' impression. Out of the bag, Jack grabbed whatever food was his together with a fork and mumbled "I'm gonna eat in front of the TV" All he wanted to do now was just put his feet up and relax. It wasn't like they were diner table people anyway. When he reached the entrance to the living room, he stopped dead in his tracks with a surprised expression on his face. The place looked like it was hit by a tornado, completely trashed. "Uhm Brian.. you might want to come check this out." He had yet to discover their unwanted visitor sitting on the couch.

Brian took off his gun holster and placed it on the chair as well. Then he grabbed his food, a fork and a coke from the fridge. With a frown he looked at the dog who was waiting for some food as well. "What have you done now? Peed on the floor again or ripped up my couch?" He really didn't want to see the mess Buster probably hade made in the living room but figure he had to go and clean up before it started stinking. Grouchy he made his way into the living room with a bite of the food already in his mouth. When he flicked on the light and saw the disaster he almost spat it out again. Was this really Busters work? Suddenly he spotted the back of somebodys head on his couch and froze. He looked at the dog and then Jack. "What the fuck?"

He smirked and stood up. He had been expecting them. As soon as he heard the car pull into the driveway, his body tensed. His trigger finger itched and he began to smirk.
He stood up slowly and faced them, glad to know that he had caught them by surprise. They were settling down to a nice dinner in front of the television.
Or so they thought they were about to.
He cleared his throat and nodded towards the dog. "He was actually very pleasant. I on the other hand... Not so much. We have some business to tend to," he said.

The stranger in his living room made him jump and reach for his gun. Unfortuntately it wasn't on his side but on the kitchen chair. Quickly the cop exchanged a glance with his brother and reached for a wooden broom that was sitting in the corner. Better than nothing. With his eyes on the man he growled. "What the hell are you doing here? Get out before I whip your ass!" He stepped towards the guy and made sure Jack was on the other side.

Apparently Jack was the first one to notice that the intruder was holding a gun in his hand. This whole situation didn't come across as just a random burglary or something along those lines. Otherwise why would this guy have been waiting on the couch for them to come home and not shoot? He took a step towards his brother and, while he raised his hands to show he wasn't up to anything, whispered. "I don't think a broom is going to do much against a gun." He had no desire to get his ass shot today or any day for that matter, but by the way Brian was provoking this guy, he had low hopes of that not happening. Jack just figured it was better to cooperate for now and, when the time was right, be a damn hero later. Since he had no idea what the guy meant, he asked "What business"

He cocked an eyebrow and scoffed at the older blond's half-assed attempt of a weapon. "If I wanted you dead, you would already be. This," he said, motioning to the gun in his hand, "is just insurance."
He nodded at the younger one and smirked. He liked him. He had already interpreted the situation and knew that nothing was going to happen to both of them- if they cooperated. "There's the business of 2 grand that one of you borrowed from this chica named Amira. My understanding is that the money was taken from Hector's racing pot, which is my pot. You borrowed 2gs from her, who in turn borrowed it from Hector, who now owes me 2 gs."
"I only see 3 options that are currently available to you two. I break two kneecaps. You give me the 2 gs right here, right now. You work off the money. You're choice, but I gonna leave here with my money- one way or another."
He hoped the blonds would make it easy. Just give up the money and go about the rest of their day. He would hate to have to really shoot out their kneecaps. There would be blood and he didn't prepare for all of that. He simply wanted the money and wanted them to keep their mouth shut, which was why he came up with the bullshit story. Something to get him in and out.

Brian didn't take his eyes of the guy for a second. He watched his every move and tried to figure out who excatly he was. When he mentioned Amiras name a lot became clearer. He had to be one of the gang members. "Did Amira send you here?" He asked. "She said it was her money and that she's broke now."
Realizing that it would be really disadvantagous if this guy knew who Brian really was he needed to find a way to hide his badge, that was hanging on his belt on his side. He slowly put the broom down, which gave him an oportunity to turn away from the scruffy looking invader, and take his badge off undetected. At least he hoped so. Otherwise him and Jack would be screwed. He placed it on the floor behind the couch together with the broom.
Then he came back up and showed the man his hands.

Amira. Ofcourse. He should've known they would get a gang banger on their ass sooner or later. If only he'd listened to his brother that night. Although that would probably have been a first.
Jack swallowed when the breaking of kneecaps was mentioned. He was quite fond of them and would love to keep them a little while longer. Despite that though, he didn't have the two grand that could actually safe their kneecaps either. So that left option three, although he didn't quite get that one. "How can I work off the money and at the same time give it to you now?" He conveniently left out the part where he didn't have any money. Never upset the guy with the gun too much.

If a look could have killed him, Jack would have dropped dead right there and then as Brian shot an icy stare across the room. Wasn't he in enough trouble already? Was he seriously offering his services to a guy with a gun?
Brian wasn't ready to give in and he wasn't overly intimidated by the man either. The job probably got him used to looking down the barrell of a gun.
"Can we talk about this with Amira?" He asked trying to bite back his anger.

He smirked. The younger one was paying attention. He was a smart ass but this didn't bother him. The other one..... He wasn't even worried about the gun in his hand. "I'm kind of fond of Amira and if I'm forced to bring her into this matter, it will ruin my business with Hector and the rest of your lives," he said.
He reached into his front pocket and pulled out a piece of paper, throwing it on the ground in front of him. "Since it looks like you don't have my money, you have the opportunity to work it off. I need a wheel-man and a gun-man. Your choice. 1AM tonight."
He placed the gun back in his waistband and waited patiently for their response.

Jack noticed Brian's look of death directed at him and was quite confused by it. What had he done wrong this time? It wasn't like he offered anything. He just posed the question out of curiosity and judging by the note on the floor, the outcome of this little situation wouldn't have been any different anyway.
At the same time the intruder put his gun away, Jack lowered his hands. It seemed this guy was more about barking than actual biting anyway and it made him less intimidating. "What if we choose not to? You might as well break our kneecaps right now. It will safe you the trouble later." Now he wanted nothing more than to bite his own tongue off. Why he always had to say the most stupid things in certain situations, probably making them worse, he would never know.

Brian rolled his eyes at Jack. Could he be any more stupid. "Hang on a second!" He raised his slightly shaky hands to consiliate the stranger. "I like my knees the way the are. "He gave Jack a warning look. "First of all I had nothing to do with it. Second we're no criminals. We're no gun-men or wheel-men." He actuall saw an opportunity for an in with the gang but didn't want to make it too obvious. "So if we help you tonight Jack's off the hook? No more debt?" He searched the mans face.

He reached in and brought the gun out again, holding it up. "Let's see how well you're mouthing off when I'm jamming this gun down your throat," he snarled.
"When your life's on the line, things come easy. One of you drives and the other shoots, or come sunrise you'll both coming up missing," he said.
"I'll wipe your slate squeaky clean if you show up and play your part. I'll disappear and Amira will never find out about this...."

Jack imagined what it would be like to have a gun shoved down his throat and shuddered. The whole idea put him off and for once in his life he did the right thing. Keep his mouth shut, though it didn't last very long. While he listened to the threats that weren't getting any fancier but made the situation crystal clear, there was one thing that wasn't clear . Why couldn't Amira know about any of this. Wasn't she supposed to be the gang's leader, giving out the orders, telling this goon what to do? The way Jack understood it, the guy was doing this behind her back which she probably wouldn't appreciate. "I doubt Amira would be happy if she did find out" He blurted it out before he even realized it and quickly raised both his hands back in the air and smiled nervously. "I'm just messing with ya. I don't have a death wish" He shot an apologetic look towards his brother who would probably kill him afterwards himself if they survived this. And that was becoming quite a big if.

"I'm done talking. You either show up or you don't. And if you don't..... well you already know what's gonna happen," he said.
The gun disappeared again and he nodded towards the blondes. He would leave them to it, he had better things to do. A lot time and effort was needed to get the intel required for the heist they were about to pull off.
A nap was in order and so was a call to the boss. He turned and exited the same way he came in, disappearing into the night without anyone else seeing him. It was how he worked. How he got his nickname... El Guardian.

As soon as they guy left and Brian had made sure he was really gone he slumped down on what was left of his couch. It took him a minute to come down and be able to think straight. Angrily he pointed his finger at Jack. "We need to talk!"
This wasn't good. There was way to little time to make sure this wasn't a trap or to get everything sorted out for it to go smoothly. The cop dropped his head in his hands and shook it while his mind was going a million miles a minute. Brian was trained for these kind of situations. He needed to look at it from every angle. But with jack involved it wasn't that easy.
"Shit, shit!" he cursed and kicked the coffee table. "This is going way to fast." Uneasily he stood up and started pacing only to stop and tell Buster off. "What kínd of a watchdog are you?"
Then he kept pacing. "This is NO good...well it is and it isn't. The good part is that I have a possibility to get into the gang. That was my bosses whole idea. But it's no good that you are supposed to go as well." His finger pointed at Jack again. "Why the hell do you have to have such a big mouth? We have to go and talk to my boss. Now!"

Jack remained standing on the exact same spot he'd been standing the whole time. He needed some time to let everything sink in. It's not every day you're staring down the barrel of a gun and are being forced into participating in a heist. Stuff like this only happened in movies as far as he knew.
He kept his mouth shut when Brian pointed an angry finger at him. He didn't want to say anything that could make matters worse, he'd already done that enough. In silence he watched Brian pace and collect his thoughts but when it was the dog's turn to receive a snarl, Jack took a step towards Brian. "It's not the dogs fault. I never should have taken money from that bitch!" Seconds later he had to take the step back as the finger was pointed at him again. Atleast it was still just a finger and not a gun like earlier. "I'm sorry alright!" It seemed he was sorry a lot these past couple of weeks, but this was one of the sorry's he actually ment. "We'll get this shit sorted out when we talk to your boss.. won't we?"

Brian wasn't out for Jacks apologizies. He needed the be in charge of the situation but right now he wasn't. He was afraid something could go terribly wrong and the reunion with his brother could be cut short by 30-40 years. He had to burry a friend lately. The same thing simply couldn't happen to Jack. With his finger still pointing at him he got up and positioned himself in front of his brother. "They guy asked for a gun man and a wheel man. I know you don't like me telling you what to do but this is serious shit here. It's my job so please do what I say. You're driving. You proofed in Mexico you're good behind the wheel. I'm going to be his gun man. I spend an hour a week at the shooting range. Allright?"
This whole situation made him so uneasy it wasn't even funny. He pulled Jack into a hug. "I don't want to loose you because of 2 g."
