A day later Brian had to come into the office again because Trinh had called that he needed to get a form for his sick leave and compensation and take it to one of the FBI doctors in order for it to be taken into consideration. More than a little annoyed he walked into the building. After all he had better things to do at home than waiting in line forever. Mia was still very exhausted and needed all the help she could get. Brian greeted the young Asian woman and showed her a picture of his new family member. "So where's that form I need?"

Daniel straightened the collar of his suit jacket as he rounded the corner out of the cramped up space some called an office and on to the hallway. The last details to his transfer here had finally been closed which meant he finally had access to the FBI database again and could get things back up and running.
"Well, well. If it isn't the guy who can't park." The corner of his mouth quirked up in a smile when he approached the blonde man that had grated on his nerves yesterday. Normally he wouldn't be bothering with apologies, or anything that came close to one, but with this guy turning out to be FBI, he had no choice. Past experiences had taught him he couldn't afford having resentful co-workers in the office.
"I think we started off on the wrong foot." He extended his arm toward the man, offering his hand along with a close to sincere smile. "Name's Daniel Shaw."

With the sheet he needed in his hand Brian turned to see the guy who had given him not so sincere warning yesterday. On top of leaving home and having to come int the busy inner city and the FBI building he now had to put up with some arrogant agents crap. Just as he was ready to throw a nasty remark at him the guy caught him by surprise with his 'apology'. Brian raised his brows. "I guess so. Sorry for my come-back. I just had a bad day. Got stabbed in the shoulder the other day. Usually I do a better job at parking." He shook the man's hand. He had to be the same age as Brian but looked a little more weathered. Probably a field agent. "Brian O'Conner. So you're working here?" He didn't really care but what else should he say?

Daniel gave it his best effort to keep the derisive look from his face. Everything the man poured out went in one ear and out the other, he hadn't been asking for a share of personal problems when he offered his hand, but the name 'O'Conner' perked his attention back to the conversation, or rather the monologue, immediately. "O'Conner? Shit, I think I've heard about you. Aren't you the guy that went rogue?"
He folded his arms across his chest, eyes narrowing momentarily when he looked his colleague over. He didn't seem like the type to go fuck-about on the job, but looks tended to be deceiving, even in this place where everyone was supposed to be on the so called 'good guys' team.
"You must have friends in real high places if you're walking a free man. Last time I checked, bureau doesn't take kindly to FBI foul play."

Once again Brian was confronted with the one part of his past he wasn't proud about. Whenever it came to cops he felt shitty because he was the 'foul egg', when it came to his family he felt bad because he was the cop, that had fucked them over royally. he would never live that story down. But Brian had heard that comment too many times to get his knickers in a knot about it. He just frowned. "Yeah, long time ago. Paid my dues." he disregarded the question about friends in high places. The FBI had used him like and old rag in return for his fuck up. "Your new here, huh? This department?" Again he stayed away from any nasty remark because the man had just tried to apologize.

"Narcotics. New York used to be my playground." Daniel answered briskly, his arms unfolding and his hands disappearing in the pockets of his dress pants. His 'under the table' business had thrived in Brooklyn, but seeing as how nothing in that world came without risks and the suspicions against him had been rising at the NY office, he knew he had to make himself scarce before he took a bullet. He just hoped he hadn't made a mistake asking for a transfer to this city.
"Either way, I was just on my way out. Stuffy offices don't do it for me and neither does undrinkable coffee if we're on the subject. Nice meeting you" He flashed the man a feigned smile and turned on his heel, the polite expression bleeding from his face in an instant. He had done his duty, made his apology and now all he wanted was some fresh air and get out of this suit.

Brian had a hard time reading the guy. That's probably what made him a good undercover agent. He was making a conversation even though he couldn't be bothered with actually meeting his coworkers. Maybe he just wanted to get out as much as Brian. "Yeah, I'm heading out again as well. I just needed this form." Brian wanted to make a quick escape before anybody got any ideas for jobs for him. "Technically I'm not even working here anymore." He said his goodbye to Trinh and walked to the elevator, where Daniel was waiting. It opened with a bing and both men stepped inside. A strange silence followed.

"So you don't work here anymore." Daniel briefly watched the man from the corner of his eyes before he lifted them up to watch the floor numbers change, his hands still casually buried in his pockets. "What. Got out on good behavior?"
With another smile thrown toward the man, he stepped out of the elevator the moment it hit ground floor and opened it's doors. He didn't bother waiting for an answer. The question had simply been out of politeness, to break the awkward silence that tended to occur in the confined space and it had served it's purpose as far as Daniel was concerned. The less he feigned interest in others, the less likely they would be to show an interest in him and that's how he preferred it to be.
He pulled his shades from the breast pocket of his jacket, jogging down the few steps of the FBI building and slid them on to shield his eyes from the beating sun. LA weather was clearly one of the many things different from NY.

Faye smoothed down the pencil skirt as she loooked up at the FBI building in front of her, she was ment to be speaking with someone or another, she couldnt quite remember his name, but she did know that she was ment to be gathering some infomation on a high profile man that her firm were attempting to keep put
With a sigh her heels clicked as she made her way up the steps to the building, her gaze falling onto her a man who was exiting, slideing sunglasses onto his face, she offered him a smile, her gaze falling onto Brian who was slowly pushing through the doors.
"You might as well work for em fully, your here more then some of the agents"SHe laughed.

The familiar voice made Brian look up from his fast path out of the dreaded building. "Faye, what are you doing here? Pleasure or business?" She was right. Brian should keep a sleeping bag in the building. It would safe him the trouble of going in and out of the city. He waved his hand with the sheet in it. "I have to get this form filled in by one of the FBI's accredited doctors so I can get compensation."

Faye shook her head, laughing softly, "I dont think there could be ever any reason for me to come to this building for pleasure"She stated, she folded her arms across her chest as she looked up at it, she wanted to be compossed herself before she went inside.
"Im here for a case...ment to be meeting someone to gather infomation"She shrugged her shoulders, letting out a sigh, now if she could remember his name it might have been easier, but ever since she had come home from Miami things were a little hazy.

"I hope your law firm is not trying to keep someone out of jail who we're trying to get in jail." Daniel finally spoke up from his position, his body leaning against his car while he displayed an amused smile on his face. The young woman had to be a lawyer, or at least an assistant, if she was here to gather information on a case. "You'll be wasting your time here if you are, considering the conflicts of interest."
Loosening up the knot of his tie, he looked up at the tall building for a moment before his eyes cut back to the brunette. "May I ask who you were supposed to be meeting?"

Faye twisted, brunete hair flowing over her shoulder as she eyed the man who had left the building moments before Brian. SHe offered him a smile, shaking her head, it happened often that lawyers tried to keep guys out of jail that the FBI wanted to put away, and the lawyers got blocked, but for once the pair were actually working side by side.
"Actually for once we're attempting to put the guy in jail"She stated with a smile, her dark gaze flicked over to Brian and she offered him a smile, smoothing her hand through her hair, she bit the inside of her lip, remembering the name of the guy she was ment to be meeting would be a good idea.
"Er Shaw....Daniel i think"SHe offered the man a smile. "He's just transfered from New York"She looked over at him, shrugging her shoulders slightly. Her boss had let her know he had been working on a case over there and the guy he had been after had high tailed it over to LA where he had been caught.

Daniel raised his eyebrows when his own name fell. He hadn't had briefings on the LA playground yet, leaving his Intelligence still solely New York based, but apparently they worked fast in this city if law firms were already knocking on his door for information. At least this time it wasn't a stuffy old man who was sure to grate on his nerves right from the get go.
"Seems you and I will be going for a coffee if that is the case. You're looking at him." The surprised expression made room for a smile as he moved from his car and toward the brunette, offering her his hand. "I'm Daniel Shaw. Have to warn you though, my intel still lies with Brooklyn." He pulled the shades from his face and slipped them back in his pocket while he regarded the brunette again. "So what can I help an LA law firm with?"

Faye blushed deep red as he quickly informed her that he was Daniel Shaw, great first impression she must have made, biting her lip she took his offered hand, makign sure to give him a firm hand shake, smiling and nodding her head. "Faye Perez"She stated softly, now all buissness.
Licking her lips she nodded her head, slightly annoyed that the man hadnt been informed she would be comeing to talk to him, oh sure the FBI worked fast, sometimes, and obviously this was one of the times they didnt.
"Apparently you were working a case over in New York,A Martine ANderson"She flicked her gaze over to Brian giving him a smile, there was of course only so much infomation she could say out in the open.

Daniel narrowed his eyes at the name. It was a more than a familiar one to his ears. After months of hard work and undercover investigations, the case had gone sour and the man had disappeared from the FBI's radar completely. Now how that had been able to happen right under the FBI's nose was, of course, questionable to most.
"I did. Unfortunately the investigation turned cold for the time being though." He answered as he offered the pretty brunette a more charming smile this time. "But if you're still interested in the case, feel free to buy my time and intel with a nice cup of coffee."

Faye rose a brow "You dont know"SHe questioned looking over at him "He's currently sitting in lockup, down at county"SHe stated, she swallowed, shifting her weight to her other foot, she was going to have to invest in shoes that didnt kill her feet.
"So intel would be good"She stated with a smile "If all it costs me is a coffee"She laughed, folding her arms over her chest, knowing if she wanted more infomation she deffiently needed to get of the street.

"Well, as you may have noticed, the FBI has it's beauty flaws when it comes to relaying such 'unimportant' information." Daniel quirked the corner of his mouth up in half a smirk, covering up any other emotion that may have flashed over his face. He wasn't pleased to hear that Anderson had been taking in to custody. If the guy decided to sing and mention his name, an investigation against him would stain his remarkably clean record no matter whether they'd find something or not. And he had made damned sure they wouldn't.
"My intel tends to come cheap for the right person." He smiled briefly, mainly at the irony of that statement. "So, where do they serve a decent cup of coffee in this city?"

Faye rose a brow and slolwy nodded her head, there was something about him, but she couldnt quite put her finger on just what, she shook it of mentally, knowing she was probarlly being over cautious with her past.
"Er theres a place out on the beach front, sells amazing coffees"She stated with a smile, she inhaled and looked over at him, with a smile. "So when's good for you"She stated with a raised brow.

Brian had only half listened to their conversation. Obviously it was business realted and he tended to close his ears in order to stay out of trouble. In the meantime he had busied himself with the sheet in his hand and frown had spread on his sunteint face. "What the fuck?" He had just read the last paragraph of the paper and mumbled to himself. "I don't know if a little money is worth all this running around and paper pushing." He scratched his head. "Do you happen to know where 229 Huntington Ave is? Isn't that all the way up near Santa Barbara?" He didn't even notice that he was interrupting their friendly conversation. All he noticed was that this new guy seemed to be a lot friendlier to chicks.
